Valérie LOROGO/BAZEMO's start in the entrepreneurial world was not an easy one. In the face of difficulties, she drew her strength and motivation from the support of her husband and family, but also from the positive feedback she received from her customers.

In 2019, Valérie LOROGO/BAZEMO's tenacity finally paid off. She succeeded in creating "Faso Bio Régal", a company specialising in the processing of maize into flour, couscous, biscuits, cakes and so on.

Valérie LOROGO/BAZEMO has clear and precise ambitions for her company: to become a benchmark in the production, processing and distribution of maize-based products, and to contribute to food self-sufficiency in Burkina Faso and the promotion of local consumption.

00:00I chose this field to contribute to food self-sufficiency in Burkina Faso
00:07and to promote local consumption.
00:11I want to show the world that through corn seeds,
00:15we can have a lot of derivative products.
00:18I had the idea when I was a student.
00:29When I had a lot of homework,
00:31I didn't have enough time to make the flour myself.
00:33And I went to the market to buy the flour.
00:36When I came, I found that there was a lot of sand in the flour.
00:41I said to myself, why not put good quality flour for mixing?
00:46The company was created in 2019.
00:48We have 1 kg of white and yellow corn flour,
00:5315 kg and 25 kg of couscous,
00:571 kg of biscuits.
00:59We make cakes, birthday cakes and wedding cakes.
01:04We are also involved in the transformation of local products.
01:09The biscuits we make are made from yellow corn.
01:15We improve the taste by adding salt, sugar, ginger and sesame seeds.
01:30The cakes are very delicious.
01:32Whether it's couscous or flour,
01:35I make them at home.
01:37As part of my work,
01:39whether it's the material or hygiene,
01:41I'm used to paying at the market.
01:43When you make couscous,
01:45you can smell the grains of sand.
01:47Even the flour, when you boil it,
01:50there are grains of sand coming down from the bottom of the bowl.
01:54But since I started working with her,
01:57everything is perfect.
01:59There are times when you want to leave everything
02:02and you ask yourself,
02:04wouldn't it be better to do it elsewhere than in entrepreneurship?
02:07What motivated me was the positive feedback from the customers.
02:12My husband, who supports me, and my family.
02:15I can also say that the product is finished.
02:18When you work, you look at what you have done.
02:21You are proud and it encourages you to move forward.
02:25She is hard-working.
02:27Her family supports her.
02:29The way she works, her family has to support her.
02:32We are proud of her
02:34because she is someone who loves her family a lot.
02:42When I look back and now,
02:45I am very proud of myself.
02:47In the beginning, I would take a small amount of corn
02:50to transform it and put it in a bag of 25.
02:53Now, I thank God.
02:56We have improved our packaging.
02:58We sell in quantities.
03:01We can transform 5 bags, 6 bags in a week.
03:06The choice of raw materials.
03:09We involve farmers.
03:13We have a producer who uses natural materials
03:18for his corn production.
03:21In the short term, we want to be a reference
03:26in all provinces, in production and distribution.
03:31In the long term, we want to have a space built
03:35to increase our production range.
03:38We also want to have a land
03:41that we can cultivate only the old
03:44for the benefit of consumers.
