00:00Happy Thursday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:05As of now, the wind is still blowing from the east.
00:09It is blowing from Visayas and Mindanao.
00:12And there are only thunderstorms that are localized in the remaining part of our country.
00:17Based on our latest satellite animation, as early as this morning,
00:21there are areas where there is a strong rain.
00:23This includes parts of Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, Soksabjen, and Davao Region.
00:28This is the effect of the combined thunderstorms plus the easterlies.
00:32And if we can notice from our latest satellite animation,
00:35this low-pressure area in the east of Luzon has already experienced a typhoon.
00:39This is in the Tropical Storm category with the international name of Shanshan.
00:43This was contributed by Hong Kong.
00:45As of now, the distance of this typhoon Shanshan is 2,140 kilometers
00:50east of Central Luzon as of 3 in the morning.
00:53It will still remain far from our land and will not have a direct effect on our country.
01:00For today, the day of Thursday,
01:02a large part of Luzon will still experience a part of a cloudy sky.
01:06The fair weather conditions for today, which is accompanied by hot and sunny afternoons,
01:11and then when the afternoon arrives until the evening,
01:13there are still places, only places where there will be thunderstorms or rains
01:18that last for two to three hours.
01:20It is still very hot today because of the easterlies,
01:24here in the part of Cagayan and Isabela,
01:26where the air temperature is up to 34 degrees Celsius.
01:29The 33 degrees is still possible here in the part of Ilocos,
01:33in a large part of Central Luzon,
01:35parts of Calabarzon and Bicol Region, as well as Metro Manila.
01:39While in Baguio, the temperature will remain cold from 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:45To our fellowmen in Palawan and a large part of Visayas,
01:49it will still be a part of a cloudy sky.
01:52Before noon, there are areas here in Palawan where there will be rains,
01:57while most of the rains in Visayas last until the evening,
02:01especially in Negros and Panay Islands.
02:03So make sure that we have an umbrella.
02:05As for our temperature here in Palawan,
02:08it is possible up to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:11whereas the maximum temperature in Visayas is between 32 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:16And as I mentioned earlier,
02:18the rains are still possible this morning here in a large part of Western and Southern portions of Mindanao,
02:24Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Region, Soxavien, Davao Region.
02:29There are areas where the rains are sometimes strong,
02:31so be careful of flooding and landslides.
02:34Then when it reaches noon until the evening,
02:36there are more areas in Mindanao, including Northern Mindanao,
02:40where there will be rains and landslides and landslides.
02:42So make sure that we have an umbrella and an umbrella in case of rain.
02:47As for our temperature here in Zamboanga City and Davao City,
02:51it is still possible to rise to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:55As for our fellow countrymen,
02:57within the next 24 hours,
02:59we still have no hope of a gale warning or warning of high waves.
03:03The waves are expected to be moderate to high,
03:06but if there are thunderstorms,
03:08especially here in Northern Luzon,
03:09the waves are expected to rise up to 2 meters high,
03:12and the other waves are expected to rise up to 1.5 meters high
03:15in the nearby towns of our country.
03:19Now that the long weekend is coming,
03:21the fair weather conditions are still expected in a large part of the country.
03:25But when it reaches noon until the evening,
03:28the rains and landslides will be frequent,
03:31especially over the weekend.
03:33So our long weekend,
03:35there are areas where the rains will be really strong,
03:37especially here in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:40particularly in Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula,
03:44and Bangsamoro region.
03:46This is the effect of the southwest monsoon.
03:48This could return as early as tomorrow, late evening,
03:51and this could continue until early next week,
03:53plus the trough, or the outer portion of this Sibagyong-Shan-Shan.
03:58So there could be convergence or clouds
04:01here in the areas of Southern Luzon.
04:02And these shallow circulations,
04:05what are called cloud clusters,
04:07could trigger the southwest monsoon or habagat
04:10here in Visayas and Mindanao.
04:12So make sure that we have an umbrella,
04:14especially for our countrymen here in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao,
04:18the areas that we mentioned.
04:20While the fair weather conditions will actually be more severe
04:22here in Northern and Central Luzon,
04:24as well as Metro Manila.
04:26For the next three days, the rainy part is still there.
04:28And sometimes, the sky is sunny here in Northern and Central Luzon.
04:31It's just a little hot,
04:33especially for the coastal areas
04:35where there is a lot of rainfall.
04:37So always keep an eye on our advisories and warnings
04:41regarding the rainfall for the next four days.
04:45The sunrise is 5.30 am today,
04:49and the sunset is 6.15 pm.
04:52That's the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
04:55I'm Benison Estareja,
04:57telling you anytime,
04:58anytime,
05:00Pagasa, Magandang Solisyon!
