00:00So the title of the sermon is How God Feels About Divorce.
00:06How God Feels About Divorce.
00:07If you go to Deuteronomy 24, this is how the world feels.
00:13I know several couples right now, they won't get married.
00:17They're living together in sin.
00:19I don't know why.
00:21Maybe there's a stigma of getting a divorce and it costs money to get a divorce attorney
00:25and all these things.
00:26But hopefully when I get through with the sermon, you'll see that that's not what God's
00:30will is.
00:31Deuteronomy 24, we're just going to define what divorce is.
00:37Most people know, but most people don't.
00:39They don't know the details.
00:40Look at 24 verse 1 in Deuteronomy, when a man had taken a wife and married her.
00:47So this is when a man's physically gone into his wife and married her and made that vow
00:51before God and other people.
00:53And it come to pass that she find no favor in his eyes because he had found some uncleanness
01:00in her, then let him write her a bill of divorcement and give it in her hand and send her out of
01:07his house.
01:08So the first thing is, is that when he finds some kind of uncleanness in her, and we're
01:12going to see what that means in a minute, that he writes her a bill of divorcement and
01:17then she's able to go on her way.
01:19Look at verse 2, and when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another
01:25man's wife.
01:27So what it is, is that he's able, she is able to go and marry another person.
01:32That's verse 2, and if the latter husband hate her and write her a bill of divorcement
01:40and give it in her hand and send her out of his house or be the latter husband died, which
01:45took her to be his wife.
01:48Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife after
01:53she is defiled, for that is an abomination for the Lord.
01:57And thou shall not cause a land to sin, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
02:03So what is the Bible saying?
02:04It's saying if you divorce your spouse and you leave and you go to be another person's
02:11spouse, so your own spouse number two, and then you divorce that spouse or even have
02:17that physical relationship, not even get married to that person, the second person,
02:22and go back to the first husband, you are an abomination before the Lord.
02:27And you say, well that don't make sense, doesn't God want us to reconcile things, doesn't he
02:31want us to get things right?
02:33And there's this false notion that some churches are teaching that you should go back to your
02:38first husband or your first spouse, whatever it is, man or woman, but what it's saying
02:44is clearly that you're an abomination.
02:48And that's false.
02:49They want to tell you that, oh, it's okay for you to do that, in fact, they recommend
02:53you doing that.
02:54There's some churches that tell you that, but it's clear here that the Bible is saying
02:59that you are an abomination before the Lord.
03:01So we've defined that.
03:03So go to Deuteronomy 22.
03:08So what does that mean?
03:10Find uncleanness in her.
03:12What does that mean?
03:13Or she's been defiled.
03:15What does that mean?
03:16Well, look at Deuteronomy 22, 13.
03:18The Bible has all the answers, we just got to dig them out.
03:20If any man take a wife and go unto her and hate her.
03:24So what does that mean?
03:25If he takes a wife, he makes that vow, and he goes unto her, the physical relationship,
03:29he consummates the marriage, and when he does that, he hates her.
03:34What does that mean?
03:35Does that mean that he just hates the way she looks, the way she smells?
03:37No, that's not what it's talking about.
03:39To give occasional speech against her and bring up an evil name upon her and say, I
03:44took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid.
03:49What is it saying?
03:51He came unto this woman as a young couple, and he found her not to be a virgin.
03:56And he said, well, how can you tell that?
03:58Well, look at this, verse 15.
04:00Then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of
04:05the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate.
04:10And the damsel's father shall say unto her, the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man
04:15to wife, and he hateth her.
04:17That's what it's talking about.
04:18It's not just saying that he quits loving her, or he hates her, or he hates her guts.
04:23What it's saying is he hates her because she's not a virgin.
04:27That's what it's talking about.
04:28It's not talking about the love, going out of love with him or anything now.
04:32That's what the saying hates her, is that he found out she's not pure, she's not a virgin.
04:38And lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found thy daughter
04:44not a maid.
04:45Talking about a virgin.
04:46That's what the maid means.
04:48And yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity, and they shall spread the cloth
04:52before the elders of the city, and the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise
04:58him.
04:59And they shall immerse him in a hundred shekels of silver, and give him unto the father of
05:03the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel.
05:09She shall be his wife.
05:11He may not put her away all his days.
05:13So what is it saying?
05:14He's saying they show that she's not a virgin, and then he marries her, and they give him
05:20a hundred shekels of silver.
05:22That's what it's saying.
05:24But if this thing be true.
05:27So if he made a mistake, she marries her.
05:31But if it's true that she's not a virgin.
05:34And the token of the virgin be not found for the damsel.
05:37They shall bring out the damsel, the woman, to the door of her father's house, and the
05:41men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die, because she had wrought folly
05:46in Israel to play the whore in her father's house.
05:50So shalt thou put evil away from among you.
05:53So what is it saying?
05:54If she's not a virgin, they take her outside, and they stone her to death, and she's considered
06:00a whore.
06:01Look, I didn't write the Bible, I'm just telling you what it says.
06:04So I've got five points.
06:05I'm going to Matthew 5.
06:08So what is it?
06:09There's only one cause in God's eyes.
06:11Remember, this is in God's eyes, this is in man's eyes.
06:15The divorce attorney, your best friend, this doesn't have anything to do with it.
06:20This has to do with God alone.
06:22That's what we're here for.
06:23We're here to learn what God thinks, not what everybody else thinks.
06:26Get on YouTube and figure out what everybody else thinks.
06:31But Matthew 5.31 tells us, this is Jesus reiterating what we just saw.
06:38Matthew 5.31.
06:39It has been said, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement.
06:53So that's what it's talking about, a bill of divorcement, writing of divorcement, to
06:57give that to her.
06:58But I'm saying to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of
07:04fornication.
07:05Now I want you to underline that.
07:06I want you to underline saving for the cause of fornication.
07:10So he's saying if you put away your wife for anything else but for fornication, why?
07:16Because in the new modern Bible versions, the NIV, the HIV, the EHV, whatever it is,
07:22they change it from fornication to adultery.
07:26They change it from fornication to sexual immorality.
07:30What does that mean?
07:31Well, you know, that kind of changes with the times.
07:33You know, what sexual immorality was in the 1800s is definitely not what it is now, what
07:39you taught to people.
07:42They change it.
07:44But what is the Bible saying?
07:46For fornication.
07:47What is fornication?
07:49The physical act between a man and a woman before they are married.
07:53So that's the only reason for divorcement to God, that it's legal.
07:59And you say, well, how is that so?
08:01Causing her to commit adultery, and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth
08:08adultery.
08:09If you divorce somebody, other than for fornication, and they go out and marry somebody else, they
08:14just committed adultery.
08:18If you have a physical relationship while you're married with another person, that's
08:22committing adultery.
08:23See, people don't understand that, but they don't understand that if you divorce somebody
08:29and go and marry or have a physical relationship, you don't even have to get married.
08:33But if you divorce somebody and have that physical relationship that you would with
08:37your wife, with another person, you have committed adultery, whether you get a divorce
08:42or not, okay?
08:44That's what God says.
08:47So it doesn't say sexual immorality like the NIV says.
08:52It's not saying, save for falling out of love, or he's mean to me, or adultery.
08:58What is it saying?
08:59Fornication.
09:00What does that mean?
09:01Look at Matthew 1.
09:02Matthew 1.
09:03Look at Matthew 1, verse 19.
09:04I'm sorry, verse 18.
09:05This is where Jesus is being born.
09:06You have Jesus, Jesus' stepfather, not his father, because God the Father is his father.
09:07And Mary's being told what?
09:08That you are going to have a baby.
09:09When Joseph knows, and Mary knows, that they've not had that baby, they're going to have a
09:10baby.
09:11And Mary's being told what?
09:12That you are going to have a baby.
09:13And Mary's being told what?
09:14That you are going to have a baby.
09:15And Mary's being told what?
09:16That you are going to have a baby.
09:17And Mary's being told what?
09:18That you are going to have a baby.
09:19And Mary's being told what?
09:20That you are going to have a baby.
09:21And Mary's being told what?
09:31And Mary's being told what?
09:32That you are going to have a baby.
09:33And Mary's being told what?
09:34That you are going to have a baby.
09:35And Mary's being told what?
09:36That you are going to have a baby.
09:37And Mary's being told what?
09:38That you are going to have a baby.
09:39And Mary's being told what?
09:40That you are going to have a baby.
09:41And Mary's being told what?
09:42That you are going to have a baby.
09:43And Mary's being told what?
09:44That you are going to have a baby.
09:45And Mary's being told what?
09:46That you are going to have a baby.
09:47And Mary's being told what?
09:48That you are going to have a baby.
09:49And Mary's being told what?
09:50That you are going to have a baby.
09:51And Mary's being told what?
09:52That you are going to have a baby.
09:54They've not consummated the marriage.
09:56Look at verse 18.
09:57Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise,
10:00when as his mother Mary was a spouse to Joseph.
10:04That means they were married.
10:06Your spouse is your spouse.
10:08When you make that vow before God and man,
10:11that is your spouse,
10:12and as she was to Joseph,
10:14before they came together,
10:16she was found a child of the Holy Ghost.
10:19So the reason is because the Holy Ghost
10:21put that baby inside of Mary.
10:23Then Joseph, her husband,
10:25look at this part,
10:26being a just man,
10:28means that he was doing right
10:30in what he's fixing to do next.
10:32He's a just man,
10:33and not willing to make a public example
10:35because we just saw in Deuteronomy,
10:37he could literally say,
10:38hey, she's not, she's pregnant now.
10:41I've never had any relations with her.
10:44I know she's not a virgin because,
10:46hey, it's pretty simple.
10:47If you got a baby, you just ain't a virgin.
10:51If you're not married and you have a baby,
10:53you're not a virgin.
10:54That's what it's saying,
10:55and he could have done that,
10:56but he says he put her away privately.
11:00He was saying, look, go away.
11:02I'm going to have you go away
11:03and go on your way
11:04because he could have just said,
11:05look, she's not a virgin.
11:07Get the stones out and stone her to death.
11:09Now look at the next part,
11:10but while he thought on these things,
11:12so this is literally while he's thinking about
11:14what he should do in the situation
11:16because you got to understand,
11:17Joseph wants to be a righteous man.
11:19He wants to do the right thing.
11:21So if he takes Mary and he,
11:23you know, she's pregnant and he says,
11:26hey, I'm going to take her to be my wife.
11:28He's not doing the right thing.
11:30Okay, because then it's somebody else's child
11:34and that's for another sermon for another time.
11:36So he's thinking on these things.
11:38Behold, the angel of the Lord
11:40appeared to him in a dream.
11:41So while he's thinking about it,
11:42the angel of the Lord comes to him
11:44saying, Joseph, thou son of David,
11:46fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife.
11:48For that which is conceived in her
11:51is a holy ghost and she shall bring forth a son
11:54and thou shall call his name Jesus
11:56for he shall save the people for his sins.
11:59Now this was all done and it might be fulfilled
12:01that was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying,
12:03behold, a virgin shall be with child.
12:07I want you to write Isaiah 7, 14.
12:10But right there is where it says a virgin.
12:13Now, let me just tell you this.
12:15Some of the new Bible versions,
12:16what are they changing to?
12:17A young girl.
12:19Folks, a young girl and a virgin
12:21is not the same thing, okay?
12:23It can be, but there's young girls out there
12:25that are not virgins.
12:26What is a virgin?
12:27Somebody who has never had that physical relationship
12:30with a man.
12:31That's what it's saying.
12:32But they changed virgin.
12:34Most of your Jewish-based Bibles,
12:36they changed virgin to a young lady or young girl.
12:40But that's not what it said.
12:41In Isaiah, it says a virgin shall be with child.
12:46And I'm sure when they read that back in the Old Testament,
12:48they're saying, how can that be?
12:50How can a virgin have a child?
12:53Well, it's pretty simple.
12:54Only God can do that.
12:55That's why.
12:57And shall bring forth a son,
12:59and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
13:01which is being interpreted is God with us.
13:05So that's how.
13:07So what do we see?
13:08We see Joseph.
13:09He's being a righteous man.
13:11He's gonna say, I'm not gonna have anything to do with Mary
13:13because she's got a child from another man.
13:15And what does she do?
13:16He's gonna privately put her away.
13:19But while that happens, the angel of the Lord says,
13:21no, no, no, no.
13:22It's your thing to marry her.
13:25And God protected him.
13:28God protected him.
13:29If you read the old story in there in Luke 2,
13:32you'll see that when Herod was looking to kill him,
13:35killed Jesus, they sent him off to Egypt.
13:39So the whole time, God protected him.
13:41The whole time, you know, while Mary's carrying the baby
13:44and Joseph is there, he's protecting them
13:47because that's what he wanted.
13:48That's what it had to fulfill prophecy.
13:53Go to Matthew 19.
13:56So at no point, my point two,
13:58the only cause for divorce, number one, is fornication.
14:01What does that mean?
14:02Well, you, there's a girl
14:06and she's found not to be a virgin.
14:09Then the man can do that and say, hey, I'm putting her away.
14:12But you know what?
14:13That just sounds crazy today, doesn't it?
14:15I mean, doesn't it sound crazy that somebody would say,
14:18hey, she's not a virgin.
14:21I'm gonna put her away.
14:22I thought she was a virgin because guess what?
14:24He probably ain't a virgin either.
14:27If you want to get down to it,
14:30and the whole reason for the purpose of this sermon
14:33is not to beat up on divorced people, folks.
14:36It's not to say, well, you divorced and you did wrong.
14:38You're worthy of death.
14:40No, what it is is for people who are married
14:42or young people before they get married
14:44to realize that God means business
14:47when it has to do with marriage.
14:48Look at Matthew 19.3.
14:51And it's not just some flippant thing
14:53that we should take lightly.
14:55Look at verse nine in chapter,
14:57I mean, verse three in chapter 19.
15:02What does it say?
15:03The Pharisees came unto him.
15:05So they're trying to tempt him, test him,
15:07and saying unto him,
15:08is it lawful for a man to put away his wife
15:10for every cause?
15:12And he answered and said unto them,
15:14Have you not read?
15:16So he's saying unto them,
15:17Hey, dummies, read the Bible
15:19and you'll actually know.
15:20You won't have to ask these questions.
15:23That he which made them at beginning
15:25made them male and female
15:27and said for this cause
15:29shall a man leave father and mother
15:32and shall cleave to his wife
15:34and they twain shall be one flesh.
15:37Wherefore, they are no more twain.
15:41So what does it say?
15:42God's will is for a man and a woman
15:45to join together and to be one flesh.
15:50Wherefore, they are no more twain,
15:52but one flesh.
15:53What therefore God hath joined together
15:56let no man put asunder.
15:58They said unto him,
15:59Why did Moses then command
16:00to give a writing of divorcement
16:02and put her away?
16:04So they're trying to make him look like a fool
16:06and say if that's the case,
16:08why was there a cause for divorcement?
16:10Why was there a writing of divorcement?
16:12Why is it in Deuteronomy
16:14about the writing of divorcement?
16:16And he said unto them,
16:17Moses because of the hardness of your hearts
16:23suffered, means he allowed you
16:25to put away your wives,
16:27but from the beginning it was not so.
16:31And I say to you,
16:32Whosoever shall put away his wife
16:34except before fornication
16:38and shall marry another,
16:40committeth adultery.
16:42And whosoever marrieth her which is put away
16:46doth commit adultery.
16:47So now we see another definition.
16:50If you're a single man
16:52and you've never been married
16:53but you go marry somebody who's been divorced,
16:56you just committed adultery.
16:59Sorry, that's what the Bible says.
17:01Keep your finger there and go to Genesis 2.
17:04Because where's Jesus getting it from?
17:06From the beginning.
17:08Well, you've got to go to the beginning.
17:16God's plan for marriage.
17:17What is his plan for marriage?
17:19God wants people to get married.
17:21He wants man and woman to get married.
17:23That was his plan from the beginning
17:24all the way back to Genesis 2.
17:27Look at verse 21.
17:29And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam
17:33and he slept.
17:34And he took one of his ribs
17:36and closed up the flesh and stayed thereof.
17:39So we've got a miracle here.
17:40I mean God's literally reaching into Adam
17:42pulling his rib out
17:44and then closing his guts up
17:47and then takes that
17:48and the rib which the Lord God had taken from man
17:51he made he a woman
17:55and brought her unto the man.
17:58And Adam said this is now bone of my bones
18:02and flesh of my flesh.
18:04She shall be called woman.
18:07Why?
18:08Because she was taken out of man.
18:09That's what the word woman means
18:11out of man.
18:12And you know I know we live in this
18:14gender bender society
18:16where men and women are equal.
18:17You're fixing to have a woman president
18:19that's now vice president
18:20because I'm going to tell you
18:21they're going to invoke number 25
18:24of the article 25
18:25and she will be your United States president.
18:28And you know what?
18:29It's what they want to do
18:31because anything that God institutes
18:33they want to destroy.
18:35They want to destroy it.
18:37But that's what woman means
18:39is that she came out of man.
18:41Look at verse 24.
18:42Therefore all this was said
18:45Why?
18:46Therefore this is therefore
18:48shall a man leave his father and his mother
18:51and shall cleave unto his wife
18:53and they shall be one flesh.
18:56This is what Jesus was talking about
18:57all the way from the beginning
18:59that you got a man
19:00he's with his mother and father
19:02and when he's getting ready to get married
19:05he leaves and finds him a wife
19:07and then the wife
19:09when she's there with her mother and father
19:11and they get together
19:12and they get married
19:13and they become one flesh.
19:17That's the miracle of it.
19:19That physical relationship
19:20between a man and a woman
19:21when they do that
19:22they become one flesh.
19:24And if you go out there
19:25and do that with this person
19:26and that person
19:27and that person
19:28you just defiled yourself.
19:31Number 4
19:33What is the punishment?
19:34Folks there's a built in punishment
19:36Go to Exodus 20.
19:38There's a built in punishment
19:40for divorcement
19:42and God lays it out
19:44in Exodus 20.
19:46It's in the Ten Commandments.
19:50What is the punishment?
19:53You as a saved person
19:55who has believed on the Lord Jesus Christ
19:57are you going to get away with it?
19:59No, you're not.
20:01Look at Exodus 20.14
20:03This is number 7
20:05of the Ten Commandments
20:07right under thou shalt not kill
20:09so God must think it's pretty important.
20:11Thou shalt not commit adultery.
20:13Pretty simple.
20:14No question there.
20:16So go to Leviticus 20
20:18and we'll see what the punishment is
20:21for committing adultery.
20:22We've already defined what adultery is.
20:24It is if
20:25let me just remind you
20:26it is if you are unmarried
20:28and you're single
20:30and you've never been married
20:31and you marry somebody
20:32who has been divorced
20:34and that you're their second spouse
20:36that's adultery.
20:38If you are married
20:40and you put away your spouse
20:42and get a divorce
20:44and then go and have a physical relationship
20:46with another person
20:47that's adultery.
20:48If while you're married
20:50and you don't get divorced
20:51you have a physical relationship
20:52that is adultery.
20:54So what does it say in it?
20:55Thou shalt not commit adultery.
20:56What is the punishment thereof
20:58of this crime
20:59in God's eyes?
21:01Most people call it getting around
21:03or whatever
21:04I don't know what the term is.
21:05Leviticus 20.10
21:06being a player
21:08I don't know
21:09and a man that committeth adultery
21:10with another man's wife
21:12even he that committeth adultery
21:14with his neighbor's wife
21:16the adulterer
21:17and the adulteress
21:19shall be put to death.
21:21So what is it?
21:22Oh, it's the death penalty.
21:24So you know when David
21:25he committed adultery
21:27and he committed murder
21:28he should have been killed.
21:30But he was the king
21:31nobody knew what to do.
21:33But not only that
21:35nobody is going to kill you
21:37for committing adultery today.
21:39But it could happen.
21:41Go to Proverbs 6.
21:44Could you die because you committed adultery?
21:46Yeah, you could.
21:49See God protects us.
21:51You got to understand that.
21:52God protects us
21:53when we're doing right.
21:54When we're doing the things
21:55we're supposed to.
21:56We're providing for our family.
21:57We're going out
21:58trying to live the best life we can
22:00under His law.
22:02And we're staying with our spouse.
22:03And we're doing these things.
22:05And we're raising our kids
22:06like He wants us to do.
22:07He's going to protect us.
22:11But you can get out of that umbrella
22:13of protection.
22:14Look at Proverbs 6, 32.
22:17But
22:18whosoever commit adultery
22:20we already know what that is.
22:21with a woman
22:23lacketh understanding
22:25he that doeth it
22:26destroyeth his own soul.
22:28So when you commit adultery
22:30you don't have quite understanding
22:32of what it means.
22:33And we're fixing to see what it means.
22:34What does that mean?
22:36You think, oh well
22:37I'm just tired of being with this person.
22:39I'm just tired of
22:40falling out of love with them.
22:42They're mean to me.
22:43Whatever.
22:44You don't have understanding.
22:46What is that?
22:47Understanding is that
22:48you don't understand what you're doing.
22:51He that doeth it
22:52destroyeth his own soul.
22:54What does that mean?
22:55Does that mean that you're going to die
22:56and go to hell?
22:57No, that's not what that means.
22:59It means that you're destroying yourself.
23:01You're destroying your soul.
23:03It doesn't have anything to do
23:04with heaven and hell
23:05unless you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
23:06If you do commit adultery
23:07guess what?
23:08You're going to heaven.
23:09Okay?
23:10So that's not what this is meaning.
23:12It's not saying, hey
23:13if you commit adultery
23:14you're going to hell
23:15and there's nothing you can do about it.
23:16No, what it's saying is
23:17you're destroying yourself.
23:19You're destroying your future.
23:21A wound and dishonor
23:22shall he get
23:24and his reproach
23:25shall not be wiped away
23:28for jealousy
23:29is a rage of a man.
23:31Therefore he will not spare
23:32in the day of vengeance.
23:34He will not regard any ransom.
23:36Neither will he rest content.
23:38Though thou givest many gifts.
23:40What is it saying?
23:41If you go out there
23:42and you've committed adultery
23:44with another man's wife
23:46he may kick your butt.
23:48He may kill you.
23:50And it don't matter
23:51how many gifts you give him
23:53or you try to bribe him
23:55or pay money.
23:56A jealous man
23:58is a jealous man.
24:00And what the Bible's showing us here
24:01is that the rage of a jealous man
24:04you can't contain that.
24:06Many a person has been killed
24:08because the husband
24:10comes in the house
24:11finds the wife with another man
24:13and kills him right there.
24:15That's what it's talking about.
24:16Is that murder?
24:17No, it's not.
24:19It's called manslaughter.
24:21The Bible makes it clear
24:22that the punishment for murder
24:24is when you think things out
24:26and you try to plan it out
24:27is death.
24:29But for manslaughter
24:30it's not.
24:31And the United States government
24:33is the same way.
24:34They take it all from the Bible.
24:36But the jealousy
24:37of the rage of a man.
24:39In fact, let me tell you this.
24:41God's name is jealous.
24:43He don't want us to go
24:44after some other God.
24:47So the punishment could be
24:49for you committing adultery
24:51you're getting killed.
24:52You're getting beat up.
24:53You're getting stabbed.
24:54You're getting shot.
24:55Whatever.
24:56You're getting maimed.
24:59So the other thing could be
25:01there's a built-in punishment.
25:03There's a built-in punishment
25:04for divorce.
25:05Let's say you don't do that.
25:07Let's say you don't get beat up.
25:08I can tell you people
25:10I remember a couple
25:12a guy I used to work with
25:14at one of the law enforcement facilities
25:16his wife
25:18left him
25:20and went with another
25:21law enforcement officer
25:23while they were still married
25:25and then they got married
25:26and guess what happened to them?
25:27She left him
25:28and went with somebody else.
25:29I'm like really moron?
25:31You think you're such a great
25:32and he wasn't.
25:33He was just
25:34God awful ugly.
25:36I hate to put it this way.
25:37A lot uglier than the first husband.
25:39And I'm thinking goodnight man.
25:41Do you really think
25:42she's going to stay with you
25:43because when she gets tired of you
25:45she's going to find someone else
25:46and that's what she does.
25:47Number three.
25:48Maybe on number four.
25:49Maybe on number five.
25:50I don't know.
25:51But you know
25:52that's where God
25:54gets his revenge sometimes
25:56is where you think
25:58they leave you
25:59and go with somebody else.
26:01Guess what?
26:02You may get the same thing in return.
26:05But I want you to understand
26:07that number six
26:09on the
26:11Ten Commandments is adultery.
26:13Right under killing somebody.
26:15So the punishment
26:17may be something else.
26:19It may be
26:20if you get a divorce
26:21you have kids
26:22they're going to suffer.
26:24There's this built in punishment
26:26where they have to meet
26:28for Christmas and this holiday.
26:30You get this holiday
26:31and you get that holiday.
26:32And then you got the courts involved in it
26:34because they had to bring up
26:35some kind of paperwork
26:36and say
26:37well on this Christmas
26:38you go to mama's house.
26:40On this Christmas
26:41you go to daddy's house.
26:42And all these things.
26:43That's the built in punishment folks.
26:45That's what God has built in
26:47for punishment.
26:49You're not going to be stoned to death.
26:51You may be killed by a jealous husband.
26:53If that's not the case
26:54there's going to be a punishment.
26:55I don't think you're going to get away with it
26:56scot free.
26:57So number five.
26:59What does God
27:01why does he hold marriage so sacred?
27:03Why is that?
27:05I mean why is this thing
27:07so sacred?
27:08Go to Numbers 30.
27:10Why is it so sacred?
27:13You know
27:14we in
27:16today's time
27:17it's a flippant thing.
27:19It's like oh you're going to get married
27:20yeah big deal.
27:21If I don't like them
27:22I heard a guy one day
27:23he said
27:24well I don't like her
27:25I'll just divorce her
27:26and find somebody else.
27:27Folks
27:28that's a big problem.
27:29I don't know if this guy's
27:30saved
27:31but I'll tell you
27:32for the saved people
27:33when the church
27:34community
27:35has the same
27:36idea
27:37as the world
27:38about divorce
27:39you got a problem.
27:40Somebody ain't preaching it.
27:41That's why I'm preaching it.
27:42I'm trying to show you
27:43what the Bible says.
27:44Then you know what?
27:45You can decide for yourself.
27:46You can decide
27:47hey
27:48that man's a fool.
27:49I don't believe that.
27:50I don't believe that.
27:51I don't believe that.
27:52And you know what?
27:53It don't bother me at all.
27:54I'm going to go out
27:55and live my life
27:56and do
27:57what I think is right
27:58because my rewards
27:59again
28:00as I've told you before
28:01is not that you decide
28:02to do what's right and wrong
28:03it's that I get out of here
28:04and show you what's right and wrong
28:05and then you decide for yourself.
28:06That's what free will is all about.
28:07Look at Numbers 30 verse 1.
28:08And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes
28:09concerning the children of Israel
28:10saying
28:11This is the thing
28:12which the Lord
28:13hath commanded.
28:14If a man
28:15vow a vow
28:16unto the Lord
28:17he shall be saved.
28:18If a man
28:19vow a vow
28:20unto the Lord
28:21or swear an oath
28:22to bind his soul
28:23with a bond
28:24he shall not
28:25break his word.
28:26He shall do
28:27according to all
28:28that proceedeth
28:29out of his mouth.
28:30If a woman
28:31also vow a vow
28:32unto the Lord
28:33and bind herself
28:34with a bond
28:35being in her father's house
28:36and her youth
28:37and her father
28:38hear her vow
28:39and her bond
28:40wherewith
28:41she shall
28:42bound her soul
28:43and her father
28:44shall hold his peace
28:45at her
28:46then all
28:47her vows
28:48shall stand
28:49and every bond
28:50wherewith
28:51she hath bound
28:52her soul
28:53shall stand.
28:54So what is it saying?
28:55If you vow a vow
28:56then you
28:57you're bound
28:58to it.
28:59God's going to
29:00hold you
29:01accountable.
29:02And the two vows
29:03go to Exodus 34.
29:04I'm trying to get
29:05ahead of myself.
29:06Exodus 34.
29:07When you
29:08make an oath
29:09or a vow
29:10I'm going
29:11to do this.
29:12I'm going
29:13to do that.
29:14You know
29:15I remember
29:16you know
29:17when I was
29:18drinking
29:19as a young
29:20man
29:21I would
29:22say
29:23God
29:24if you
29:25just get me
29:26out of this
29:27hangover
29:28whatever
29:29I'll do
29:30whatever.
29:31I was making
29:32a vow.
29:33Get me
29:34out of this
29:35God
29:36and I'll
29:37do whatever.
29:38Well you know
29:39the Bible
29:40makes it clear
29:41that we
29:42shouldn't
29:43do that.
29:44We shouldn't
29:45promise
29:46that we're
29:47going to
29:48get out
29:49of this
29:50hangover.
29:51We're
29:52not going
29:53to promise
29:54that we're
29:55going to
29:56get out
29:57of this
29:58hangover.
29:59We're
30:00not going
30:01to promise
30:02that we're
30:03going to
30:04get out
30:05of this
30:06hangover.
30:07We're
30:08not going
30:09to promise
30:10that we're
30:11going to
30:12get out
30:13of this
30:14hangover.
30:15We're
30:16not going
30:17to promise
30:18that we're
30:19going to
30:20get out
30:21of this
30:22hangover.
30:23We're
30:24not going
30:25to promise
30:26that we're
30:27going to
30:28get out
30:29of this
30:30hangover.
30:31We're
30:32not going

30:34that we're
30:35going to
30:36get out
30:37of this
30:38hangover.
30:39We're
30:40not going
30:41to promise
30:42that we're
30:43going to
30:44get out
30:45of this
30:46hangover.
30:47We're
30:48not going
30:49to promise
30:50that we're
30:51going to

30:53of this
30:54hangover.
30:55We're

31:02hangover.
31:03We're
31:04not going

31:10hangover.
31:11We're
31:12not going
31:13to promise
31:14that we're
31:15going to
31:16get out
31:17of this
31:18hangover.
31:19We're
31:20not going

31:27We're

31:35We're
31:36not going

31:43We're
