00:00Loot Crate's got something special and it came straight from the slaughterhouse.
00:03Here's a look at the neck of toys Toonie Terror's Loot Crate exclusive Texas
00:08Chainsaw Massacre bloody leather face.
00:23Bring the fun of Saturday morning cartoons your horror collection with the
00:27adorable little creeps of Toonie Terror's NECA's line of stylized horror
00:31icons. Loot Crate takes a stab on the look of the classic leather face. This
00:36version features a new bloody deco and blood-soaked chainsaw. Someone told Bubba
00:40to take a bath. He thought they meant bloodbath. Crickets. Crickets. Just before
00:47we get a closer look though at the Loot Crate exclusive Toonie Terror's
00:50bloodied version leather face. First I'd like to thank the folks over at NECA that
00:53provided the sample we could have a look at. Second I'm gonna grab my tape
00:56measure and see how tall the figure stands. Now this is simply just the
00:59original released Toonie Terror's leather face with just a little bit more
01:02raspberry jam. Raspberry jam all over his hands and his apron. It was actually
01:07part of the Loot Crate October 2020 box so this figure is about four years old.
01:11He's now going for online around $60 but you'll be happy to know that NECA is
01:15planning to release a 50th anniversary Toonie Terror bloody version of leather
01:19face that's slated to drop in August. That's this month right now. Though the
01:23tape measure is gonna still tell us the figures gonna stand exactly the same as
01:26the original leather face at five inches in height. Yes. Or the figure is
01:30gonna stand at 12 centimeters tall. Sliding over this Sawyer and bringing in
01:35the original Bubba Sawyer. Here's what the figure looks like with the original
01:37released Toonie Terror's leather face. Looking at the two obviously you can see
01:41that it's simply just using the same mold although they've splashed blood all
01:46over his hands and all over his apron. It would also be a continued trend when we
01:50look at his chainsaw as well. I wanted to also bring in another bloodied version.
01:53This wasn't actually a Loot Crate or Loot Fright exclusive but there has
01:57been certainly a couple of times that NECA has delved into the idea of
02:00releasing these demonic characters with blood on them but here's what the figure
02:03looks like with the bloodied version of Michael Myers. If you don't mind I'm also
02:07just gonna interrupt this review for a second to show you guys what the
02:09packaging looks like. There is in fact a sticker on the front that says
02:12Loot Crate exclusive. It does though feature on the back the exact same
02:16cardboard cutout so if you are interested and this is your kind of jam
02:20you can just cut this out you can have yourself certainly a decorative detailed
02:23background that'd be displayed behind your Toonie terrors. Considering though
02:27that I have more than one Sawyer I might actually consider the idea of cutting
02:30these out. I generally don't do that just because they take up a lot more space
02:33and you know if obviously you're gonna want to have like Leatherface displayed
02:37you're not gonna want to have maybe like I don't know Exorcist or something next
02:40to it. Regan probably makes no sense inside of a slot well maybe she does
02:42maybe she does but because I have again more than one Sawyer the idea of having
02:46more than one displayed in front of the backdrop makes now I think a little bit
02:49more sense. Moving that out of the way though the one included accessory that
02:54has well with the figure is of course his chainsaw. Let's just move Leatherface
02:58back in front frame here. The chainsaw really is no different than the original
03:02chainsaw and it probably be easiest to show you guys by bringing in the
03:05original chainsaw. Colors of the yellow I would say are a little bit different for
03:08one you can see that this one's a little bit more of a warmer yellow this one's a
03:12little bit lighter. The blades seem to be exactly the same other than the swiping
03:15of the blood there's a fair bit of blood down below by the handle there's blood
03:19all over the top of the chainsaw teeth the original chainsaw would have not had
03:23that but other than that it does look like they'd be exactly the same from one
03:25to the other. I know I know one question you're probably gonna be asking
03:29yourselves this when they release the 50th anniversary Tony Tara's bloody
03:33version of Leatherface they're gonna be planning to release it obviously at the
03:35regular retail price which most online sites that are having shown showing the
03:40pre-order right now are showing them at about $17.99. Wouldn't you be all
03:43that concerned that somebody is gonna be trying to hawk hawk the idea of selling
03:48Leatherfaces that are the Loot Crate variety? Simply buying up the ones for
03:53the 50th anniversary and then just simply calling them the Loot Crate
03:56exclusive because of course those ones are gonna be going for a little bit
03:58more. NECA is though going to be doing something a little bit different to
04:02prevent that hawking they are gonna be changing the way that the blood is
04:05actually gonna be on these on the accessories and on Leatherface. For
04:09starters the 50th anniversary version of the chainsaw instead of if I tilt it
04:13this way see how the blood's all across the bottom of the teeth like this like
04:17the blood splashed upwards like he's making impact cutting through somebody's
04:20torso I'm sure. The other chainsaw that we're gonna be getting from the 50th
04:24anniversary release again it's gonna be this same chainsaw but the blood's gonna
04:28be splattered across this way so it's gonna look like somebody just spritzed
04:31blood going this way so there's gonna be all these little streaks so there's
04:35gonna be definitely a notable differences between the two chainsaws
04:38that some scalper isn't just simply gonna buy the 50th anniversary releases
04:42and just say I'm selling all these Loot Crate exclusives you'll be at least in
04:46the know and you'll know the differences between those. This chainsaw
04:49by the way does fit in his hands not always the easiest thing to do
04:52unfortunately the hands do rotate the exact same way as the original release
04:55but you're only gonna have a swivel in the in the forearms nothing in the hands
04:59so you kind of have to be a little bit more creative. I find honestly this is
05:03the hand that's the easiest to put in first and then just because well it's
05:07the hardest one to hold the handle and then this one here you kind of have to
05:10twist the arm around to get him to hold on latch on to the other side like I
05:14said it's not the easiest thing to do I I know I'm kind of cheating right now I
05:17don't have it all the way on there but at least it shows you the idea that he
05:20can hold the chainsaw with both hands just a case again you have to kind of
05:24pry the plastic away you have to kind of get the handle in there do I want to
05:27give it the full college try again that basically just like I said snaps in
05:31place there we go I gave the full college try you could have it a really
05:34over his head but he just can't quite accommodate the idea of holding the
05:37handles with both hands let's take the chainsaw remove him from his hands and
05:43not the easiest thing to do always do there we go and we'll just take it off
05:47on the other side here and we'll put it off to the side okay getting a closer
05:52look though at the Loot Crate exclusive leather face now there again there are
05:55gonna be some changes made to the 50th anniversary release so take notes I do
05:59this to my daughter all the time I'm watching you and she always does this
06:02back as well if you're looking at to the two leather faces from the coloring of
06:05their bodies they're exactly the same the ties that the faces and of course
06:09the aprons are identical to one another the only thing that Loot Crate did do
06:13generously is splattered the blood across the hands and also in front of
06:17the apron as well the original or the 50th anniversary release that we're
06:20getting in August doesn't seem to have blood on the hands so that's one thing
06:24right away you can notice the differences between the two it also
06:26seems to have similar to the chainsaw the blood sort of shriek streaking its
06:31way upward as opposed to something that Bob Ross would have done if he was
06:34making clouds let's make another cloud gently gently gently but again it just
06:40kind of looks like somebody suckered on some blood for the Loot Crate exclusive
06:44I think they're gonna be a little bit more creative very more selective where
06:48the bloods gonna be going on the 50th anniversary release so also too if you
06:51were one that wanted to get your hands on the bloody version and the Loot Crate
06:54exclusive and wanted end up paying these 60 or so dollars this guy was going for
06:58online I don't feel at least that you're gonna be robbed at all by the 50th
07:02anniversary release because the blood is gonna be placed a little bit different
07:05from one figure in the other and when eventually I do get my hands on the 50th
07:08anniversary version of the Toony Tares leather face yes dot dot dot I will be
07:12doing a follow-up video and I'll bring in all the three leather faces head
07:16scope wise if I bring in the two you can see they're exactly the same from one to
07:19the other it's kind of strange really that they didn't put blood anywhere on
07:22his face just the few little dollops could have gone really a long way
07:25something also to note as well yeah I don't know if you can probably even see
07:29it for yourself do you spot the difference it's like one of those
07:31activity books that kids pick up spot the difference oh the dog had the bone
07:35in the one photo he doesn't have it in photo two if you're looking at actually
07:39the eyes a leather face for the original release has his eyes looking
07:42straightforward however though if you look at the one from we get from loot
07:46crate the eyes in fact are angled sideways so he's looking this way see
07:51the difference he's looking forward he's looking sideways so there's a little bit
07:55of differences there as well of course the bodies like I said are exactly the
07:58same I love the Toony Tares and still continue to love picking up these
08:01figures again I think it's very logical that to get a bloodied version you
08:06wouldn't want to do it with everybody I think I think like a bloody version of
08:09the nun would have made absolutely no sense even though there has been
08:11variations I think there's a glow-in-the-dark version of Valak there's
08:14also as well a I think loot crate also did do a Reagan from the Toony Tares
08:19exorcist line as well so there's been a couple exclusives circulating the
08:23interweb right now if you want guys want to get your hands on those but again
08:26like a really nice detailed figure I just I like the original Toony Tares
08:29leather face I like this one as well I also really like that the eyes are
08:32angled differently too of course you got the bracelet there on the side that's
08:35there that hasn't changed at all of course all this blood all over his hands
08:38all over his apron gently gently Bob Ross says nowhere actually no blood to
08:42be found at all on his slacks or his shoes it's rather interesting the fact
08:46this guy keeps continuing to cut into carcasses and yet blood only seems to
08:50find its way onto this magical apron it seems to absorb it like a magnet and of
08:55course he's got it all over his hands the articulation on this guy's gonna be
08:57exactly the same as the original one so his head's gonna be on I wouldn't say
09:01necessarily a ball joint because it doesn't really move up and down it moves
09:04only just a little bit but it more suggests the idea that the head rotates
09:07back and forth this way the arms rotate all the way around as well so again if
09:11you want to have the chainsaw up above his head it's not an easy thing to pull
09:15off granted but you can kind of again kind of cheat you can kind of have him
09:19holding it someone like this like this like this like this taking photos of
09:28course the like I said he does have the rotation in arms nothing though in the
09:31hands nothing it seems at all in his waist as well so pretty limited on the
09:34articulation but that goes with the territory when it comes to to any terror
09:37releases there is again the bloodied version the blue crate exclusive which
09:41was a loot fright exclusive released four years ago 2020 long time ago long
09:45time ago if you did or you kind of had you guys your eyes set on getting this
09:49one at some point you kept saying yourself you know if one of those cases
09:52come where the listings drop the price and I didn't want to pay the $60 but
09:57let's just say the seller can't seem to sell and he decides to drop the price
10:00down to 30 maybe maybe I might get my hands on him that way you know unless
10:04you really one that wants to collect any and every one that gets released by
10:07NECA honestly though you may even be able just to hold it out because this
10:11month this month they are dropping a 50th anniversary version of the bloody
10:15to new terrors of Leatherface yet the blood is gonna be placed a little bit
10:19different so again I think there's still at least an upsell to the people that
10:23already have gotten their hands on the loot crate exclusive version of this guy
10:26that it doesn't simply just feel like well I I got specifically that
10:30subscription box solely for getting this figure because I'm sure thought of that
10:34so the blood placement on the 50th anniversary is gonna be a little bit
10:38different from this one doesn't again seem to be on the hands a little bit
10:41different on the apron and on the chainsaw that if you already have your
10:44hands on this one you might want to also get your hands on the one that gets
10:47released in August too I'm just looking at some of the images online for the
10:5250th anniversary release of the tuning tears bloody Leatherface not only does
10:56it seem like his eyes are looking straightforward so again that's one way
10:59that the loot fright version is gonna be quite different really with the way
11:02that they've sculpted and painted the face but also as well it looks like
11:05they've color corrected the chainsaw with both releases of this one and the
11:08original version of Leatherface that the chainsaw was yellow though in the
11:12movie it tends to be more of a greenish yellow and it seems from at least the
11:16images I'm looking at online that the chainsaw is in fact more of a greenish
11:20yellow than it is just straight lemon yellow the placement of the blood is
11:24again one thing I did talk about in this review to one way the notice right away
11:27whether you have the loot fright version or you have the NECA 50th anniversary so
11:32if somebody ends up trying to sell you on one you at least can tell the
11:35differences between the two and I'm glad that at least that what NECA
11:38re-releases this guy they are gonna be re-releasing it with a different color
11:41palette of blood the one that's gonna be the 50th anniversary like I said is
11:45gonna be slated to drop in fact this month August right now so keep your
11:50peepers peeled like I said this guy's listing should be showing up and showing
11:53in stores anytime now if you guys want to get your hands on him that way of
11:56course if you did want to get your hands still on the original loot fright
11:59release you'd have to first of all be subscribed to the service like four
12:02years ago because that service box came out in 2020 to get your hands on this
12:07guy now want to make sure of course you're looking for all the notable like
12:10the calling things like for example the loot crate sticker on the front it has
12:13to be there if not you're probably just gonna be buying a 50th anniversary
12:16somebody's just trying to say it's a loot fright box you should know better
12:19and hopefully a review like this has been able to help but like I said if you
12:23guys want to get your hands on the loot fright version he goes anywhere from
12:26right now like 50 to 60 dollars I think though I have a feeling though that
12:30that's probably gonna start to drop the moment the 50th anniversary figures
12:33start showing up in stores big thank you once again to the folks over at NECA
12:36toys that did provide this sample of the loot fright 2020 exclusive bloody
12:40version to knee terrors leather face if you guys did enjoy this video throw it a
