05:20We just kind of sat there and took a couple of breaths, like, thinking,
05:23okay, maybe we didn't see what we just thought we saw.

05:31I was trying to give some kind of a rationalization as to why it was doing what it was doing.
05:36There had to be a glitch somewhere mechanically that had caused it to do that.

05:51Maybe the previous tenant just left some boxes behind.
05:55She basically let me know that she had no idea who they belonged to.

06:07I just decided right then and there I was going to put it back in the box.

12:13Between two to three months after we cleaned the house, my dog started acting a little bit strange.
12:18He got to the point where he didn't want to eat.
12:21He was barely drinking anything and that was completely out of character for him.

12:30So I went ahead and I took him to the vet and they did a complete workup on him
12:35and the doctor basically told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with him.
12:39They told me maybe I needed to change his food or something to that effect and I tried doing that.
12:44And he just didn't want to eat.
12:48His blood work looks fine.
12:56I took him back to the vet about three more times and they couldn't find one specific thing wrong with him.
13:02All of his labs came back normal and it was just horrible to watch him.
13:07Medically speaking, he's fine.
13:09But obviously he's not.
13:12Sorry, there's not much else I can do for you.
13:16He was howling in pain. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with him.
13:19I just felt like something had been attacking him.
13:23Maybe I had stirred something up by going into the attic.
13:28Maybe they were angry because I had touched something that didn't belong to me.
13:34Victoria believes there's a connection between the paranormal activity in her house and her dog's illness.
13:40But she is unable to protect her beloved pet.
13:45We didn't have a choice. We weren't going to make him suffer.
13:48And at that point we decided that the best thing to do was to put him to sleep.

13:54But the pain does not stop with the passing of her dog.

15:20I felt by making the move to New Mexico that everything would stay at the house and I could just start with a clean slate.
15:26It was a pretty emotional welcome to know that I have her home and my granddaughter.
15:32We were together after being separated for such a long time.
15:38Within a few weeks, Victoria finds a job as a lab technician at a hospital in Santa Fe.
15:49A month goes by without incidents.
15:51Victoria is relieved to finally be leading a normal life.

17:17I actually started my job in March. By October, I started having these really weird symptoms at work.
17:25By November, I started really, really getting sick to the point that I started having seizures.
17:34They ran all kinds of tests. They did MRIs. They did CAT scans.
17:38Every single test came back normal. They couldn't figure out what was going on.
17:42For a year, we were in and out of hospitals to the point I was afraid that I was going to lose her.
17:50It just seemed like I was getting worse and worse. It kind of made me think,
17:54it's kind of weird, but I'm almost having the same symptoms that my dog was having.
18:01Back at home, Victoria struggles with her poor health and her fears.
18:12I just felt like there was something or someone staring at me.
18:18You just get that feeling that there's someone in the room with you.

18:35And it wasn't like that. I couldn't move.

18:47There was no doubt in my mind. I was fully awake. I was very coherent.
18:52And I knew it wasn't a figment of my imagination. I knew I wasn't dreaming.
18:56It was there. It was just as plain as day. And there was no confusing what I'd seen.
19:02Over the next month, Victoria's condition gets progressively worse.

19:08She suspects that her chronic illness might have a supernatural cause.
19:12But she keeps looking for a rational cure.
19:17I had a doctor that actually stated that my symptoms were leaning toward lupus.

19:26I can give you some medicine and I think you'll feel better.
19:30So they went ahead and started me on some medication and eventually I somewhat had an improvement.
19:37I went to a rheumatologist because they're the ones that actually classify you if you have lupus or not.
19:43And when he ran the test, he told me that I didn't have it.
19:46I was showing symptoms, but I didn't have it. So it was almost like a mystery diagnosis.
19:53Regardless of the inconclusive diagnosis, Victoria feels better day by day and starts to take control of her life again.
20:02It was like I went from one minute to barely walking to the next minute I'm up and around and walking and doing fine.
20:08But there is one change.

20:35It didn't look like they were menacing at all.
20:38I just got that feeling they were kind of questioning what I was doing there.
20:41Like I was on their turf instead of them being on mine.
20:49They had me on several medications at the time.
20:53I started researching the medicines to make sure that there wasn't any kind of side effect that would cause me to hallucinate or have bad dreams or things like that.
21:02But none of the medications I was taking had those kind of side effects.

22:45Everyone in the area has heard legends associated with the nearby mountain.
22:52The story goes that the Indians were hunting.
22:55And some of the settlers attacked the village and killed a lot of women and children.
23:00When they came back and they saw what happened, they attacked the settlers.
23:05There was a peak that the settlers climbed up with wagon trails and everything, and the Indians followed them there.
23:11Anybody caught trying to leave the peak was killed.
23:14The rest of them were starved out, and that's how the name came about.
23:18Do you think these spirits were related to the massacre?

23:24That's a lot of suffering for one place.
23:31My mom decided that maybe we just needed to really give the house a good cleaning.
23:36Smudge it, clean it, and do whatever we needed to do.

27:35We decided we needed to meet off-site. I could tell when she walked into the room, she was terrified.

28:08Now she's dealing with something that she can't explain that's also traumatic.

28:15None of the doctors could say what was wrong with me, but...

31:12It turned out to be a very pleasant place. At first, it kind of felt, oh, it's not so bad.
31:19It wasn't until we got into the house that I changed my mind about that.

31:28And we instructed Victoria to show the house like she was showing a house to a real estate agent.
31:34Let's not talk about what's going on in the home. Let's not talk about the dark entity. We don't want to start anything we can't finish that day.

31:47Just entering the house, the entity knew we were inside and was already upset.
31:53Okay, so this is my bedroom. But I haven't really been sleeping here much lately.

32:09I felt his energy, his presence. I'm telling you, I'm downright scared.

32:26As I was standing there, I felt something pass by me.
32:30It was strange. It wasn't like the hair standing up on the back of your neck. It was much more dramatic than that.
32:35It was intense. It was an intense field of energy that moved across me.
32:38It moved from the bedroom to the bathroom. I immediately turned to the bathroom and took a picture.
32:43And what I saw in the viewfinder when the picture returned shocked me.
32:48I was looking straight with an entity in front of me.
32:52What was disturbing about it was that he had actually captured on film what I had been seeing.

33:05And the investigators prepare to make contact with the dark entity.

33:12One of the things that we were thinking was happening is that this dark entity was actually feeding off of her energy
33:16and causing her health to be poorer than it should be.
33:20So we felt there was definitely an urgency to get back to the property
33:24and to see what we could do and relieve that situation completely.

33:33believing it to be a safe area in the house.

33:45Light source communication is the use of two small flashlights that twist on and off.
33:50We turn them to where they're just off and put them on a stationary object.
33:53We're not holding them or touching them or anywhere near them.
33:56We back away from them and they're separate from us.
33:59The idea is that the entity has the strength to turn a flashlight on to answer a question.

34:22and we weren't getting a response.
34:24However, once again, it was good that there's an intuitive there with Victoria.
