00:29underway by far-right agents after the July 28th presidential election.

00:43in the city of Vladivostok under the theme Far East 2030, combining strength to create
00:47new potential.
00:48Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Resus Studios in Havana,
00:57Cuba.
00:58We begin with the news.
00:59The President of Honduras, Fidel Mara Castro, denounced new attempts to destabilize the
01:03peace and institutionality of the Central American country.
01:06The head of state rejected any type of meeting between drug traffickers and politicians who
01:10only seek to generate chaos in the national territory.
01:13She also rejected the plan of these destabilizing agents to overthrow her government and destroy
01:18the next electoral process in the nation.
01:20Likewise, the President stressed that the same coup forces of 2009 are re-articulating
01:25with the national and international media to plot a new coup d'etat, while urging the
01:29population to repel such actions against Honduran institutions.
01:33She also stated that her government will not allow the extradition treaty with the United
01:38States to be used in a selective manner.
01:41Honduran people, in relation to the video of 2013 published today in networks, I condemn
02:00all types of negotiations between drug traffickers and politicians, as I expressed in previous
02:08days after the threats of the Ambassador of the United States accusing the Joint Chief
02:15of Staff of the Armed Forces and the former Minister of Defense of drug traffickers, I
02:23ratify that peace and internal security of the Republic are at risk.
02:31The plan to destroy my socialist, democratic government and the next electoral process
02:39are...
02:42The Honduran head of state also asked the National Congress and the Public Prosecutor's
02:45Office to reform legal regulations so that the security forces can combat organized crime
02:50with force.
03:00I request the Attorney General of the Republic to exercise drastic actions in all the cases
03:07presented here, without any selectivity, in order to combat drug trafficking.
03:15I respectfully request the National Congress, where my party is in a clear minority, to
03:22reform all legal regulations so that the security forces of the state, currently limited,
03:31can combat this organized crime with force.
03:36To the new Minister of Defense, Lawyer Rixi Moncada, I order her to provide all the tools
03:45and technology required by the Armed Forces to prevent Honduras from continuing to be
03:51used as a bridge for the trafficking of drugs that are consumed by thugs in the countries
03:57of destination.
03:59The Foreign Minister of Honduras also condemned the accusations made by Washington against
04:04her country's officials for alleged meetings with drug traffickers.
04:11Immediately after the return of Ministers Zelaya and General Roosevelt from Venezuela,
04:16the U.S. Ambassador openly and outrageously accused these government's public officials
04:20of Honduras of being drug dealers and of meeting with drug dealers and we reminded
04:24the U.S. that they were the ones who met with drug dealers, that both Presidents Obama and
04:34Trump and also Red Stevenson, Mike Pompeo, Nancy Pelosi and other top names in the United
04:45States government openly met with Juan Orlando Hernandez in the past knowing that he was
04:49a drug dealer.
05:02The entire security system was dismantled, using our territory as a bridge to introduce
05:09cocaine to the United States, turning it into a drug traffickers' paradise during the 12
05:15years and 7 months of their narco-dictatorship.
05:20The processes initiated in the United States, as has been demonstrated, are selective in
05:26the face of the activity of the corruption networks.
05:31During the briefing, the Minister of Defense of Honduras, Luis Simon Cara, provided a detailed
05:35report about all the cases involving major political personalities in the country.
05:39The first case accuses Mauricio Villeda, former presidential candidate of the Liberal Party
05:44and current deputy of the National Congress, for allegedly receiving a bribe of $200,000
05:48and $250,000 from the Cachiros Cartel in exchange for helping Carlos, aka El Negro Lobo, to
05:56recover assets that had been seized from him.
05:59The second case accuses Roberto Micheletti, former president of the National Congress,
06:03of having received $500,000 from the Cachiros Cartel in exchange for providing protection
06:09to this cartel after the 2009 coup d'etat.
06:12The third case deals with Freddy Najera, former deputy of the Liberal Party, sentenced
06:16to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty for accepting bribes in exchange for each
06:20vote to support Mauricio Oliva's proposal as president of the National Congress.
06:25The fourth case deals with Gianni Rosenthal, former deputy and former presidential candidate
06:30of the Liberal Party and current president of this political institution, sentenced to
06:33three years in prison.
06:35The fifth case deals with Leopoldo Crivelli, former mayor of Choloma, department of Cortes,
06:40accused of allegedly receiving bribes from Giovanni Fuentes Ramirez in exchange for protection.
06:47The sixth case deals with Midense O'Kelly, former deputy of the Liberal Party, who pleaded
06:51guilty after being accused of drug trafficking and mentioned for allegedly receiving $500,000
06:58from the Cachiros Cartel.
06:59Lastly, the seventh case deals with Victor Savillon, current deputy of the National Congress,
07:04who participated in a meeting where the candidacy for the presidency of the National Congress
07:08of Oscar Inajera was discussed as the one chosen by the drug traffickers to lead this
07:13power of the state.

10:39planning and conducting operations that the Chilean Navy has.

13:10the 334th day since the onset of the genocide against the Palestinian people.
13:15In this context, the all-defense teams recorded one dead body and six wounded after the Sinai's
13:20regime shelled a residential in the al-Tufa neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
13:26In addition, an Israeli attack on a barracks housing a family in al-Zahaba wounded four
13:31other civilians.
13:32As self-authorities reported, more people were injured in other parts of the devastated
13:37enclave following drone strikes and artillery bombardments launched by occupation forces.
13:41The death toll of the ongoing genocide in Gaza has increased to 40,819 since October 7th.
13:55Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues its siege of the occupied West Bank for the 8th
14:00consecutive day.
14:01At least 33 Palestinians have been killed and 130 wounded since last Wednesday, most
14:08of them in Jenin.
14:09Israeli military vehicles destroyed the streets of Jenin as part of the campaign of harassment
14:14and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
14:17Municipal authorities reported that 80% of the city's infrastructure has been severely
14:21damaged.
14:22Authorities added that at least 30 Palestinians have been arrested since Tuesday night.
14:27An 11-month after the beginning of the genocide against Palestine, figures show the non-compliance
14:39of Israel with the ruling of the International Court of Justice, as well as its intention
14:44to exterminate the Palestinian people.
14:45Let's see some data.
14:47So far, at least 10% of the Palestinian population has been killed, wounded, disappeared or arrested.
14:53With respect to this, more than 49,032 people have been killed by Israeli fire, 24,100 have
15:00suffered amputations or permanent disabilities, and more than 10,000 children have lost at
15:05least one leg.
15:07Regarding this, 9 out of 10 people murdered are civilians, of which 33% are children and
15:13another 21% are women.
15:15Regarding infrastructure, 32 of the 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are operating at less than
15:20one-third of their capacity due to the damage caused by the attacks of the Tel Aviv regime.
15:25In turn, people from Gaza face not only constant bombardment, but also lack of water, as the
15:30per capita share of water has decreased by 97% due to the destruction of the water infrastructure.
15:51In the United States, pro-Palestinian demonstrations were resumed at Columbia University in New York.
15:56Prior to the beginning of the new academic year, dozens of students protested against
15:59the aggravation perpetrated by the Zionist Israeli army in Gaza, at least reported by
16:04the United States government through economic and military assistance.
16:08Among the expressions of protest that several students resorted to, the Alma Mater statue
16:12of the campus was stained with red paint in reference to the bloodshed by thousands of
16:17Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
16:20In other news, Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the 9th Eastern Economic
16:33Forum held in the city of Vladivostok.
16:35Under the theme Far East 2030 Combining Strength to Create New Potential, the event is attended
16:42by some 6,000 guests from 76 countries.
16:45The forum's agenda includes debates on international cooperation, the global economic situation,
16:50business meetings, and project promotion events for different industries.
16:54The Eastern Economic Forum has been held since 2015 and seeks to develop the Far Eastern
16:59economy and expand international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
17:09In this context, the Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese Vice President Han
17:15and said bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented high level.
17:19Thanks to joint efforts, relations between China and Russia have reached an unprecedented
17:25high level.
17:26I hope that during today's meetings and tomorrow's joint work at the Eastern Economic Forum,
17:31we will be able to look for and find new directions for our cooperation.
17:38Since the beginning of this year, President Xi Jinping and President Putin have met twice
17:42and reached a series of important consensuses, which have pointed out the direction for strengthening
17:47our bilateral cooperation and planned a new blueprint for the future from a new starting
17:51point on the basis of the past 75 years.
17:55And the 9th Ministerial Conference of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum was held in
18:00China, laying the groundwork for the opening of the summit in Beijing.
18:04The Chinese Ministry of Economy and Foreign Affairs and the 53 African member countries
18:08of the forum were among the more than 300 attendees of the meeting.
18:12Since the 8th Ministerial Conference held in 2021, the two sides have implemented joint
18:16outcomes that include nine programs prioritizing China-Africa development and cooperation.
18:21Among other objectives, the event seeks to promote the alignment of the African Union's
18:25Agenda 2063 with the Belt and Road Initiative and other projects presented by China.
18:37On September 4th, 1970, Salvador Allende won the presidential elections in Chile and
18:42two months later the Congress ratified him as President of the country.
18:46It was Allende's fourth nomination and his victory represented the culmination of decades
18:50of efforts by the Latin American left.
18:53On September 1st, Allende ended his campaign with a gigantic rally in front of nearly one
18:57million people.
18:58Around three and a half million citizens over 21 years of age were called to the polls.
19:03Salvador Allende, who won in 10 of the 25 provinces, consolidated his victory with a
19:08wide margins as chief in popular localities of Oakland and Santiago and in the provinces
19:12with the highest proletarian concentration.
19:15His government was endorsed by Unidad Popular, a coalition of six parties headed by communists
19:19and socialists.
19:20This government tried to establish a socialist state by sticking to democratic and constitutional
19:24means known as the Chilean Way to Socialism.
19:27Likewise, it was intended to implement projects such as the nationalization of copper, the
19:31nationalization of key areas of the economy, and the improvement of the agrarian reform.
19:37Right-wing parties and groups in alliance with the unions and nationalist forces deployed
19:41an increasingly radical tactic with the aim of overthrowing the democratically elected
19:44government.
19:45Salvador Allende, Chilean surgeon and socialist politician, committed suicide on September
19:5011th, 1973, after a coup d'etat attempted to overthrow him.
