A netizen captured footage of a small asteroid over Tuguegarao City at exactly 12:39 a.m. on Thursday, September 5. According to the European Space Agency (ESA), the asteroid, known as 2024 RW1, was 3 feet (1 meter) in size. It struck Earth's atmosphere and burned up harmlessly over the Philippines.
