00:00Well, no Debo Samuel for a couple weeks.
00:04What happened?
00:05He's hurt.
00:06I'm out.
00:07He's going to miss at least a couple weeks, according to Kyle Shadier.
00:10Okay, what part of the body?
00:12Here we go.
00:13Alright guys, injuries from the game, just one new one.
00:17Debo ended up having a calf strain, he'll probably miss a couple weeks, and that's it.
00:26You cannot make this up.
00:28You just can't.
00:29And you know, Stiney, in a year of no McCaffrey, Brock's going to get the 60, 70 million.
00:36I know it's about the Rams.
00:38You just, you just, you know, lost one in many.
00:42And I'm just driving in traffic, and you get this report that Debo's in the best shape
00:47of his life.
00:48And we saw it, went to the game Monday against the Jets, the home opener.
00:53And now the football gods have said, you know what, we're going to take one more of you
00:57guys.
00:58Hey Debo, come over here, and hopefully Stiney, it's a couple weeks, why can't it be a neck
01:03or a back?
01:04A neck?
01:05Or an elbow?
01:06A neck?
01:07The calf slash Achilles.
01:09That's what I don't like about this.
01:10That's the jack in the box aspect of the calf injury.
01:14Is it anything to do with the Achilles?
01:16We don't know yet.
01:17I'm not panicking.
01:18Wait.
01:19But damn the Niners, man.
01:21This is why you got to cash the ticket in the Super Bowl when you can.
01:25There you go.
01:26Tomorrow is not.
01:27There is.
01:28That's one of each.
01:29That's a reference to losing the Super Bowl, and there is a tomorrow is not promised.
01:36That's applicable every day.
01:39Yeah.
01:40Look, the Rams are more banged up than the Niners.
01:41Hi.
01:42But do I dare say is it bigger than the Rams?
01:45Why?
01:46Because we don't want to get too far down the road.
01:48It's just like, what if I told you, just me, on the guru computer, Stiney, what if McCaffrey
01:53don't play a damn?
01:54You mean the whole year?
01:55Yeah.
01:57It's like, you know, I'm just throwing that out there.
01:59We don't know.
02:00So now it's about Brock Purdy and can he handle the load?
02:03Yeah.
02:04And I'll say this.
02:05They didn't handle it collectively against the Vikings.
02:09I'd rather have an Achilles.
02:10No, it's a calf.
02:11I'd rather have a calf than a neck.
02:14Well, that's how McCaffrey started.
02:16It was a calf.
02:17It was no Achilles.
02:18Then then I was worried.
02:19You laughed and mocked me.
02:21Then you came and gave me flowers because I had it was flowers.
02:24He said, take the victory lap.
02:26And I did.
02:27I didn't want to do it.
02:29Well, here's here's.
02:30But you.
02:31So I wasn't worried about McCaffrey or injury.
02:35Right.
02:36OK.
02:37Now there's injuries.
02:38So now I can say, well, we got to figure this out.
02:40We got some injuries.
02:41But you've been worrying for a month.
02:44And I guess my question to you is, what's it gotten you?
02:47See what I'm saying?
02:49It's not about me.
02:50It's not.
02:51It is about services of one of the best, if not the best running back or offensive player
02:55in the league.
02:56That's what it's about.
02:57And when I heard the report that the car was in the shop, you guys were like, oh, you just
03:00get an oil change.
03:01Oh, yeah.
03:02And now he needs bearings and rotors.
03:04Now, I don't mean you, Darryl, the guru Johnson here.
03:08When I say you, I mean the plural you.
03:10Mm hmm.
03:11Well, you guys ever get tired of being wrong about stuff as far as you see my guy last
03:16night.
03:17What are you really you claiming that he cousins?
03:21Yeah.
03:22He was allowed.
03:23He was allowed.
03:24Yeah.
03:25By what word am I looking for negligence by the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff and
03:32sorry, Ani, not Siri, Ani, sorry, Ani.
03:36And that just debacle of a decision to put Kirk in that position.
03:40But your boy makes some throws against a prevent defense.
03:43And you know what they say?
03:45Prevent D will prevent you from winning.
03:47So what I thought, I thought he I thought the bright lights of Monday night were too
03:54much for him.
03:55He not last night.
03:56Yeah.
03:57I was messing around with the YouTube chat.
04:00You got in there before me.
04:01I don't like that.
04:02Those are my people.
04:03Let me get there first.
04:04Did you come in?
04:05You got to believe that that a game like last night from Kirk Cousins, you got to believe
04:11Kyle Shanahan noticed that.
04:13You know what I'm saying?
04:14Well, he's got his own problems.
04:16I'm sure he's watching the game, but well, let's hope one of his problems isn't Brock
04:19Purdy.
04:20I heard he got some weapons.
04:21That is interesting.
04:22But OK, so now it's on you.
04:25And I just wonder, is he in tip top shape?
04:27Is he?
04:28You know what I mean?
04:29Stani is a Roll Royce.
04:30Is it ready to go?
04:31That that's what's so crazy about this in a contract year for Brock.
04:35How can we ignore a rat on the table?
04:37Now there's rats.
04:38And it's about is Trent Williams, Stani, also about him.
04:43Is he going to be up to par?
04:44Like, how long are we going to go down there, Williams?
04:46No, you say you said he wasn't on his A-game yesterday.
04:48We all.
04:49Yeah, I saw some stuff.
04:50The offensive line collectively didn't have the greatest game.
04:53But Brandon Aiyuk, it's on you now.
04:55I like what I'm seeing from Kittle and Brock Purdy.
04:59Obviously, that wasn't his best work Sunday.
05:02So now it's about how Kyle uses Aiyuk.
05:06Man, this is crazy.
05:07It's like, what if he's not ready?
05:09Wow.
05:10And now, in addition to missing training camp, now they need him to actually be a number
05:16one option.
05:18They need Aiyuk to be a number one option.
05:20So this is going to be this is going to be a big test for him and for Brock Purdy.
05:27Just three games into the season, and they're going to have to play the next two weeks without
05:31Debo Samuel and without Christian McCaffrey.
05:34And then McCaffrey is going to miss the fifth game of the year also.
05:37So the 49ers are looking at the Rams and then the Patriots.
05:42Without those two players, arguably their best offensive weapons, obviously Aiyuk is
05:47a hell of a weapon, too, along with Kittle.
05:50But this does change the calculus a little bit with Brock Purdy.
05:55There's no doubt about it.
05:57Brock Purdy, conventional wisdom suggests he's going to have to do a little more than
06:03he would normally do.
06:05And the question is, can he do it?
06:07Can he do it?
06:09And we'll see.
06:10The Rams are banged up, too.
06:12I mean, yeah, but it's the NFL, right, Stoney?
06:14Nobody's going to cry for you.
06:16I was on the way in, drama coming in.
06:19But anyway, Marcus Thompson, I don't know if you got to read his report in the AFL-Lake.
06:23And it was about Brock Purdy and basically the Jackals getting ready.
06:27And this was the time they've been waiting for to see if Brock can do it.
06:30And they're they're waiting, you know, salivating at the bit, hoping, you know, he doesn't do
06:36it.
06:37It's more than just him.
06:38But it is the irony in all this is what you've talked about, you know, hey, Gu, will we ever
06:43see him without the weaponry or whatnot?
06:45And now we're about to see it.
06:47And what scares me about what you just brought up from IU, Stoney, you talked about this.
06:51Now he's going to get that double team treatment.
06:54You know what I mean?
06:55He's going to get that true, true number one treatment.
06:57And can he beat it?
06:58Now he's going to know what it feels like to be Lamb and Jeff Jefferson and Jamar Chase.
07:03So we'll see how that goes.
07:04And other guys behind him, Juwan Jennings, have to step up and also the bruiser in the
07:10back.
07:11I heard Paul Dion with the morning show, Stoney, and he was just talking about, I know you
07:14kind of and I was calling J.P. Marshawn Lynch.
07:18But the way he punishes and finishes runs, that that's that's something that you like.
07:24But now he has to do keep doing that.
07:27Yep.
07:28They have to figure out a way to win some games without some of their offensive weapons.
07:32It starts Sunday against the L.A. Rams.
07:36And my question to 49er fans is pretty simple.
07:39I mean, do you view these next two games without McCaffrey and without Debo Samuel?
07:47Is it a new lens to look at Brock Purdy under or is it just two games?
07:53You got to figure out a way to win it.
07:55And then when you get those guys back, hopefully you get clicking.
07:58I'm interested to know how 49er fans are kind of you in the next two weeks.
08:04Is it fair to Stoney to Brock?
08:06Yes.
08:07Why?
08:08So why is it when the team?
08:09I don't know.
08:10We'll get to it.
08:11But when the team's complete and all the good that he's done, a Super Bowl visit, NFC championship
08:15game, is it fair to are we just throwing that away now that, you know, he doesn't have
08:20that at his disposal?
08:21And no, I expect what we see and hopefully still good supersedes what we saw when the
08:26team was home.
08:27I expect the 49ers to win their next two games because the Rams are hurt more than
08:32the 49ers are and then the Patriots come in and you should be able to beat the Patriots
08:36at home.
08:38What I want to know from 49er fans is, do you think it's fair to look at Brock Purdy
08:45in the next two weeks and really assess what he can and can't do?
08:50And does it matter if he struggles without these two weapons?
08:55Because they're usually there.
08:58What do we expect from Brock Purdy on Sunday?
09:01And do you think that, you know, Brock Purdy is, like, how instrumental is this to what
09:10happens at the end of the season?
09:12And how long will the judgments on Purdy last after these two games if they finally do get
09:19healthy?
09:20Yeah.
09:21I think the silver lining is that you do get a different kind of look at Brock Purdy, which
09:27is good because you see him with a full team and now you see him with a couple players
09:32banged up.
09:33Let's see how he's going to respond.
09:35But more importantly, let's see how the Niners are going to respond.
