00:00Hello again and welcome to your latest national weather update.
00:03Saturday night will see clearing skies for many of us and it will turn quite chilly.
00:07So we've had high pressure largely in charge so far this weekend keeping it largely dry
00:12but our change is on the way as we move through the second part of the weekend.
00:16This cold front will sweep its way southwards through Sunday evening and overnight
00:20introducing much colder air originating from the arctic so temperatures
00:24will actually fall to below average values through Monday and Tuesday
00:28and especially if you're in that wind there will be quite a marked wind chill.
00:32Back to Saturday evening though and whilst there are a few showers around
00:35most of these are becoming quite isolated and lighter through the course of this evening
00:40and they will tend to die back to more coastal regions as we go into the early hours of Sunday.
00:44Large parts of the UK will turn dry we'll see the cloud melt away
00:48to allow plenty of clear sky and starry skies tonight so temperatures falling quite low
00:54quite a chilly night for all areas and there will be a touch of grass frost in places
00:58particularly in more northern areas. So a bright if not sunny start today
01:03for a lot of the UK on Sunday still a few showers around the coasts here and there
01:08but cloudier skies tending to develop quite quickly across northern Scotland.
01:12The wind will start to pick up as well with some showery outbreaks of rain
01:15and through the afternoon we'll see a band of heavy rain arriving across the far north
01:20and some strong to gale force winds developing across northern Scotland.
01:24Staying fine with some sunny spells though for that large part of England and Wales
01:28and here pleasantly warm with winds staying generally light in the south.
01:33Into Sunday evening we continue to see that band of rain tracking its way further southwards
01:37across Scotland, Northern Ireland and into Northern England by the end of the evening.
01:41To the south it should stay dry with some late brightness or sunshine
01:45across more southern parts of England and Wales.
01:49By Monday that rain should be clearing southern areas and then we're all into a much cooler
01:53blustery air mass with a mixture of sunshine and showers.
01:57Some of these could be on the heavy side.
