30 January- National weather forecast presented by Marco Petagna.
Transcript
00:00Hello, today's very unsettled conditions across the north and east of the UK are just gradually starting to ease now thanks to Storm Malik starting to pull away to the east of the UK into Scandinavia.
00:11Things quietening down briefly but notice pulling in from the west, the next area of low pressure, a deepening area of low pressure now named Storm Corrie and that will bring further unsettled weather to many northern areas especially later Sunday into Monday.
00:24Back to tonight and today's winds gradually ease across the north east of the UK, the showers fade too so plenty of dry and clear weather tonight with one or two mist and fog patches and a touch of frost with temperatures dipping just below freezing by the morning in some rural spots.
00:38Sunday then gets off to a fine start after that cold frosty start, plenty of sunshine around but cloud and rain starting to push in towards the far north west by lunchtime and then wet and windy weather moving back in across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland coupled with some snow across the mountains during the afternoon, staying bright towards the south east but a cooler day than yesterday across the south with temperatures 7 or 8 celsius.
01:02Heading into Sunday evening now and turning very unsettled across many northern areas, widespread gales developing, outbreaks of heavy rain, some of that sweeping its way south eastwards into England and Wales as well.
01:12That's pretty much it but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast by following us on social media. Take care, bye bye for now.
