07 August - National weather forecast
Transcript
00:00There's been a lot of heavy rain around already today and that's going to continue throughout
00:05the rest of Saturday with a thunderstorm warning in force for some, a risk of localised flooding
00:09but there will be a few more sunny intervals across the south east where we see that rain
00:14start to clear throughout the beginning of the afternoon, so a little bit drier and brighter
00:18here this afternoon. Further north and west though, heavy downpours will continue, there's
00:23a thunderstorm warning in force, a risk of travel disruption and generally not feeling
00:27too summery in any of those heavy showers. Saturday evening across the south we'll see
00:33drier and clearer conditions become a little bit more widespread throughout Saturday night.
00:39Across the north heavy downpours will continue and in the west a further band of heavy rain
00:43will move in by Sunday morning. The rest of Sunday will continue in a similar vein to
00:49Saturday with heavy downpours and a thunderstorm warning in force across northern parts. Rain
00:56might be a little bit more impactful across central parts of Scotland and in the south
01:00there'll still be some heavy showers around but a little bit more sunshine and in that
01:04sunshine not feeling too bad for the time of year, temperatures reaching 20 or 21 degrees
01:09here. Monday we'll see more heavy showers but in general a drier and warmer day for
01:14many of us. For more details on all of that you can follow us on social media.
