00:00Well, it could be an improved afternoon for many of us in the south, but in the north
00:04it will remain wet with a further risk of flooding. Through Sunday morning we've seen
00:09bands of heavy rain move eastwards through the country, affecting most of us throughout
00:13the day so far. But this afternoon we'll see those bands of heavy rain mostly confined
00:19to northern areas, particularly northern England and Scottish borders where the rain could
00:24be fairly persistent with a risk of flooding and thunderstorm warnings in force across
00:27the north of England. In the south though, with fewer showers, there'll be more sunshine.
00:32It will be a little bit breezy still across the south coast, but inland in southern areas,
00:37not feeling too bad in that sunshine with highs of 21 degrees in London. Into the evening
00:43we'll see that drier and clearer weather become more widespread across the central and eastern
00:47parts of England. Across the northwest though, persistent rain will continue. In Scotland
00:52and Northern Ireland, however, a little bit drier overnight. On Monday morning, more areas
00:58of persistent rainfall will move into southeastern areas, northwestern areas too. And after a
01:03brighter start elsewhere, there will be heavy showers breaking out by the afternoon, most
01:07persistent across eastern Scotland where there's a warning in force once again. But further
01:12south where we do have that drier and brighter weather and lighter winds too, it won't feel
01:17too bad, 22-23 degrees. Next week, even more sunshine, but some heavy rain around too.
