00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It was a very cold and
00:05frosty start for many of us this morning, with some mist and freezing fog as well, particularly
00:09across the south-east of the UK. This could be quite slow to clear, perhaps lingering
00:13across those Lincolnshire coasts through Saturday afternoon, but elsewhere a dry and bright
00:18afternoon for many of us. Plenty of sunshine around, but showers quite widely pushing in
00:22from the west, perhaps turning wintry over the hills of Wales and north-west England.
00:26Scotland seeing the best of the sunshine, however still feeling cold through much of
00:29this afternoon, perhaps some spots still remaining below freezing. Starting to turn just a touch
00:34milder across the very far south-west, however slightly stronger winds won't make it feel
00:39too warm here. Through Saturday evening, those showers across those western coasts, widely
00:44pushing inland through much of tonight and into tomorrow morning. These could again turn
00:49wintry over the hills across parts of Wales, central and northern England, and could lead
00:53to some icy stretches through the start of Sunday. Showers more widely across the south-west
00:57of the UK and could turn heavy at times, but for Scotland, generally staying dry with plenty
01:01of clear skies and turning chilly again too. Temperatures as low as minus eight or minus
01:06ten, and even across parts of Northern Ireland as well, we could see minus two or minus three.
01:12A much cloudier start to the southern half of the UK on Sunday though. Showers continuing
01:17to push in from the west as we go into Sunday afternoon. Again, these could be heavy at
01:21times and perhaps turning wintry across the hills of Wales, northern and central England
01:25as well. Some icy stretches will gradually clear though, but for Scotland, another dry
01:30and sunny day. Plenty of sunshine around, but still feeling cold in that sunshine. Temperatures
01:35again not much above freezing for much of Scotland. However, for the south-west, just
01:39starting to turn a little bit milder, perhaps nine or ten degrees in the far south-west.
01:43However, stronger winds taking the edge off those temperatures. As we go through Sunday
01:49evening, further rain pushes up from the south-west and could bring some quite heavy totals to
01:53parts of southern and central England through Sunday night and into Monday morning. Clear
01:58skies persist though again for Scotland, northern England turning widely chilly again, but you
02:02can find out more about that on our social media channels and don't forget to subscribe
02:06to our YouTube for the latest weather updates. Bye bye.
