00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we go through
00:04this weekend, we will see a band of heavy rain move across many parts of the country.
00:08But with winds coming in from the southwest, it will be feeling mild, if not very mild,
00:13for the time of year. A brief ridge of high pressure does try to move in for Sunday, so
00:18Sunday is certainly the better day of the two, with the better chance of seeing some
00:21drier and brighter weather. But you can see further rain in the Atlantic and that will
00:25move in as we go into the early part of next week.
00:29Back to Saturday afternoon, we can see the rain across many western parts of the country.
00:34To the east, it should be largely dry but rather cloudy. I think the best of any sunshine
00:38will be across the far north east of Scotland. But despite the cloud and rain, it will be
00:44feeling mild wherever you are. Temperatures in the south actually reaching 14 or 15 degrees.
00:51Into the evening, the rain continues to spread its way eastward, some heavy rain at times.
00:56There are warnings in force across many parts of England and Wales for some difficult driving
01:00conditions from time to time and also the risk of some localised flooding. It does clear
01:05most of the country as we head towards the small hours of Sunday morning, but it will
01:09linger down towards the far south east of England and also along the south coast.
01:14Temperature wise in the north falling down to about 7 to 9 degrees, but in the south
01:19staying in double figures. These temperatures really are what we would expect during the
01:22course of the day this time of year, not during the night. So very mild for most of
01:27us. So Sunday morning for many a drier and brighter picture, but that rain will continue
01:32across the far south eastern part of the country. But it should clear here as we head towards
01:37lunchtime. So as I mentioned, Sunday certainly the better day of the two. Some sunny or bright
01:42spells from time to time. Still the risk of a few showers, especially during the middle
01:45of the day. But I think for most of us, as I said, certainly the better day of the two
01:49and still feeling mild. Temperatures across the whole country, generally in double figures,
01:54could see highs reaching 15, potentially 16 degrees across the southeastern corner.
02:00Then a quick look into the early part of next week. As I mentioned, further rain will be
02:03spreading in. High pressure clings on for a time across the south, so a little bit drier
02:08and brighter for a time here. But towards the middle of the week, some heavy rain moving
02:12in. Also an increasing risk of some strong winds from time to time. And then later on,
02:17we start to bring in a northwesterly flow. So temperatures will finally begin to fall
02:21back down to nearer to average for the time of year. But plenty of weather to get through
02:25before we get to there. Always keep up to date with the latest weather wherever you
02:29are on our app or on our website. But that's all for me for now. Take care and I'll see
02:34you again soon.
