00:00that I actually think can go down for the Lions.
00:02Which would you like first, the Kang shoot the boot or my prediction?
00:06Because they might be in conflict with one another.
00:08Well, I'd like to hear the shoot the boot.
00:10OK.
00:13I mean, I was a little surprised you did this.
00:16You've invited me to join you and I'm close.
00:18OK.
00:19Well, feel free whenever you want.
00:20No pressure.
00:20But I'm going to go out there.
00:22And I don't even think this is really going out on a limb, Gator.
00:25Maybe it is.
00:25You can be the deciding factor.
00:27I actually think, given all of the circumstance and the context,
00:30I actually think this is the perfect shoot the boot.
00:35I enjoy what we do for a living.
00:37And part of what we do for a living is we speculate things, right?
00:40And that includes trade rumors and big names.
00:42It's fun to talk about.
00:44And I'm not trying to poo-poo any of it.
00:46We still do it.
00:47I still want to hear everyone's opinion.
00:49But in my opinion, I will shoot the boot if the Lions trade for Max Crosby or Miles Garrett.
00:56I just don't think this is even a real possibility.
00:59And it's just not part of what the Lions do.
01:03I'm not saying I don't want them to do that.
01:05I'm saying what I think is realistic and what's going to happen is
01:09they will not make a big splash trade for one of those two guys.
01:12You know, it's interesting because you're right.
01:14It is what we do.
01:15It is.
01:15It is, you know, guys sitting at a bar talking sports, talking about everything and trade talk.
01:24I drive sports talk radio.
01:27Those would be massive, massive trades.
01:30And, you know, the more that I read about what those teams are thinking,
01:34the more I think you're pretty safe.
01:35But that's kind of the purpose of the shoot the boot guarantee.
01:38It's where there's more sizzle than steak.
01:40And so you're willing, you know, a shoot the boot guarantee isn't something that's 50-50.
01:45It's something that you really think is borderline impossible.
01:50King, I will join you on that list.
01:53Oh, Gator.
01:56But because if they were to trade for one of those guys, hell yeah, I'll drink.
02:05In fact, you'd let me.
02:06Can I hold the boot and just pour it down your throat?
02:09Wherever.
02:09I mean, it's absolutely, absolutely.
02:13I don't think it's going to happen.
02:14But if it does, if the consequence of the Lions trading for Miles Garrett
02:18or or for Max Crosby, the consequence, I'm going to have to drink beer out of my shoe.
02:23Oh, darn that.
02:24You know, it's a it's a isn't that an emotional hedge?
02:28Yeah, yeah.
02:29Essentially, emotional hedge.
02:31And yes, we saw plenty of the videos from LCA of people drinking out of the.
02:36Every time somebody drinks beer out of a shoe and it's caught on camera,
02:38I think it's awesome.
02:39People tweet it and link it to us.
02:41And I'm like, if we leave one legacy, when the show is all said and done,
02:46we are known as a show where the host would drink beer out of shoes.
02:50Now, I think it's mission.
02:51I think career goals achieved.
02:53Those fans got after it.
02:55Yeah, I do.
02:56I'm on board.
02:57All three of us, all three of us shoot the boot guarantee.
03:01And now if you still want to talk about it.
03:04Yeah, I'm open to the discussion.
03:05I don't want to poopoo these discussions.
03:08The only thing we poopooed yesterday was when somebody said the Lions don't identify and
03:11go after great players, including in the draft.
03:16Which that we had a problem with.
03:19But as it stands right now, all three of us are on board.
03:23Shoot the boot guarantee that the Lions will not trade for Max Crosby or Miles Garrett.
03:29I do think there's one realistic trade that can go down.
03:31This is reading tea leaves.
03:34This is based upon some clues that are maybe obvious, maybe not so much.
03:39And this isn't that bold.
03:42But I mean, the Jets dealt a three yesterday that can convey to a two.
03:49For Devante Adams, they've also moved to three.
03:54For Hassan Redick, that can convey to a two.
03:58I think the Jets have a goal of starting to get some draft capital back.
04:05I think the price for Hassan Redick is pretty much the same thing.
04:11A three that can convey to a two.
04:14And I think the Lions would give up a two for Hassan Redick.
04:19I don't think it's next year's two.
04:22And next year, they don't have a three.
04:26But I think the Jets would take a guaranteed two in 2026 for Hassan Redick.
04:33And it's a deal that I've done as much research as I can find.
04:39Google searching, is Hassan Redick a good teammate, has led to some,
04:43I wouldn't say great evidence that he is a good teammate.
04:46But I didn't see anything about Hassan Redick being a bad teammate.
04:51And I don't want to equate holding out
04:54with being a bad teammate or a player that doesn't love football.
04:59I know that he has many philanthropic efforts back in his hometown of Camden, New Jersey,
05:05where he has donated backpacks to schools.
05:07He's given toys to needy kids.
05:10He is a supporter of the American Cancer Society.
05:13His grandmother is a cancer survivor.
05:15And I'm doing all I can to find out if Hassan Redick will fit in this locker room.
05:23And I didn't see evidence that he won't.
05:27I think Drew Rosenhaus, when he gets involved, it starts to move things.
05:33And I think the Lions, I think the realistic big deal they can make
05:40with the most accessible player, most obviously accessible player out there is Hassan Redick.
05:46And, you know, Dan Campbell said something yesterday that I have a little bit of concern
05:50with, and that is, you know, when he said, how does that guy, that role player that we get,
05:57play with the guy next to him?
05:59And I'm not sure Redick positionally, I mean, he's not Aiden Hutchinson.
06:04No, he's not that same player, edge setting defensive end, but he's an outside linebacker,
06:09but he does pressure the quarterback.
06:12And I, but I think he'd be a useful, his skill set would clearly be useful.
06:16And they'd find a way to make it work.
06:20On top of that, it's, it's, it's incumbent upon Drew Rosenhaus saying to the Lions,
06:26he'll play, he'll play this year and sort out the contract next year.
06:30Because at some point he's got to start, I would imagine, want to get paid and realize
06:35he's not going to get it.
06:35And I don't think the Lions would give him a contract.
06:37Then he's not coming here.
06:39I think things might've changed.
06:42I think things might've changed when Rosenhaus got involved.
06:44I, I don't know.
06:47I think obviously Drew Rosenhaus is going to work on behalf of his client, but he's
06:50always going to work on behalf of Drew Rosenhaus.
06:53And so it's, there's an impetus there for him to get a deal done, uh, long, longer term.
06:59But I, I mean, the guy's missed this much time already.
07:03He's been fined $5 million by the NFL at this point for, for not playing.
07:09Um, I just, I, I don't see why he wouldn't just continue doing what he's doing, which
07:15is just, he's going to hold out.
07:16It's going to pull a Le'Veon Bell.
07:18So Rosenhaus won't get the money right away because he won't get a contract extension,
07:23but he will be his agent next year when he's a free agent.
07:26And that's fine.
07:27But again, this is why the Lions won't do it.
07:30Um, the Lions won't do it.
07:33Well, I, the Lions would, would have, I think if I were Brad Holmes, I'd be interested
07:39in Hassan Redick for sure.
07:40If Hassan Redick is letting me know, you got to give me an extension and the Lions aren't
07:47willing to go to an extension, then it's not, I don't think the Lions will do an extension.
07:50And I think Hassan Redick will bend on that now.
07:53I think Hassan Redick is seeing, okay, if I don't do this now, I'm going to sit out
07:58the whole season.
08:00I don't want to sit out the whole season.
08:02Rosenhaus will get me my money eventually.
08:05I don't want to sit out the whole season.
08:07Rosenhaus will get me my money.
08:09Eventually.
08:10I need to go play and the team I'm going to play for can win a super bowl.
08:15So you're just, you're based on, on, on, I think the assumption, I think the assumption
08:19at what I'm doing again, I think this is the most likely big deal that can go down.
08:25And yes, it is based upon Rosenhaus and Redick agreeing.
08:30All right.
08:31You got to go play.
08:32Here's the other thing.
08:33If a deal gets done to trade Hassan Redick, I don't think it's going to be a big deal.
08:39I think it's going the other direction because at this point, I think Philadelphia just wants
08:42to get anything.
08:44I'm sorry, the Jets, Jets want to get anything in return.
08:46You don't think a 20, you don't think they even need to give up a 20, 26 second round
08:50pick?
08:50I don't think it's a second round pick.
08:51No, I think maybe an offer of a fourth round pick.
08:54And if it's the best offer they have, they're going to have to take it because what else
08:59are they going to do?
09:00Fair enough.
09:01If that's the best offer they have, typically what team's thinking is if I will take a third
09:06in the next draft and you want to delay it to the following year, it's got to bump up
09:09around.
09:10So like the team see equivalent of a 2025 draft, the next draft, a third rounder, the
09:172026 draft is a second rounder.
09:19Those are the same thing.
09:20So that's why I landed on a second rounder.
09:23And I think they want to start to get some of their draft capital back because essentially
09:27they lost, they've given up three and maybe a two for Redick and Devante Adams.
09:34They only have one of those players.
09:35So let's get our draft capital back.
09:37And I hope you're right.
09:39I hope I may not be great if you're right.
09:41But the more we reach into this and part of why we're all on board with the shoot the
09:45boot guarantee with Crosby and Garrett, I think Redick's the only realistic one that
09:49can get done.
09:51And I would be happy with that.
09:55Outside of that, and if Redick won't wave and if he won't, if he says, I won't play
10:00unless I have a new contract, then it's not going down.
10:02He's not coming here.
10:03And we get into the next level of player, the subtle move that I mean, I'd love to get
10:10Landry from Tennessee.
10:11That one makes a lot of sense on a lot of fronts.
10:13But that's a bigger move than I think we gave it credit for.
