00:00No, I think you're being too hard on the players. It's a strategic game with a lot of moving
00:05parts constantly. These are smart people who are trained well at their sport. And, uh,
00:11you know, these penalties are, I think a little bit overrated. Um, you know, you're playing
00:17for a full game here. You're not playing for this guy did this. Thank you for the phone
00:21call. I have no idea what set him off about that. I know he's complaining about the players
00:25getting, I'm just, what I'm saying, they did commit a lot of them, but well, they got called
00:29for 12, uh, that there were accepted in the game and the lines anyway. And the secondary
00:36and Terry and Arnold in particular is getting called for a lot of them. And our point was,
00:40I think that we're okay with it so far because I don't want him to change necessarily his
00:46style of play. I like him being a big physical corner that you're going to have to win a
00:51battle to beat him. And, you know, Carlton Davis was in a big physical battle with DK
00:56Metcalf. DK Metcalf is one of the toughest receivers in the league to deal with because
01:01he's got elite speed and he's got elite strength for a wide receiver. He may not have the greatest
01:07hands. He's got really good hands, but he doesn't have the greatest hands. That's the
01:10only thing that keeps them from being the number one receiver in football. But you try
01:14to line up against that guy who's six, four, and you know, 225 pounds, a solid muscle.
01:20They're going to be problems. He is a, he is a big problem. Uh, yeah, I don't know that
01:25we, uh, the intent was not to be harsh on the players as it pertains to penalties. So
01:29I don't know how he interpreted that. So we must've done a poor job of expressing what
01:34we meant, but I think we're upset with the officials more than the players. Well, I didn't
01:37like the call where a lion's defensive back and I think it was CD three got tackled and
01:42called for holding two, four, eight, five, three, nine, 97, 97 phone calls, feedback,
01:48Carson Anderson. We go to MG and Troy. You're next. What's up, MG? Hey, good morning guys.
01:54How you doing? All right. Um, I'm ecstatic about the game and I never want to say anything
01:59negative about Brad Holmes because he's earned all of our trust until the end of time. But
02:04I think one major concern I had from the game, the lions play, I think more man, press coverage
02:10than any team in the NFL, or at least close to it. And a huge part of those corners being
02:15successful is consistent pressure on the quarterback. And Aiden's amazing. But if you watch the
02:20game last night, I, his snap count is high and he gets gassed and there's nothing to
02:25compliment him at all. And I just don't understand what this hesitation is in going after a team
02:31like the jets whose season is totally over and making a play on Hassan Braddock.
02:36And I know that you can wait until the trade deadline because more teams will be in desperate
02:41cell mode. Do you want to give him a contract? Yeah. I honestly think that I get it. It's
02:47a lot of money, but we have the cap space. And I also think that if you trust one GM
02:51in the NFL to rework existing contracts moving forward, wouldn't it be Brad Holmes? No, I
02:56understand that part of it, but I guess my thing is that they have cap space for sure.
03:00And if they want to make a trade for somebody, they can do it. And that cap space is good
03:03for this year and this year only cap space is different year to year. And if they're
03:09stockpiling cap space, if that's even what they're doing for years to follow, it's going
03:13to be to sign guys like a Lee McNeil or Levi on Zurich who were eligible for contracts
03:20after this year, or it's to get a deal done with Aiden Hutchinson before you have to worry
03:24about it.
03:25They've got contracts with from their own team. They're going to have to worry about.
03:28So if you're going to try to trade for Hassan Reddick, you have to give Hassan Reddick a,
03:32an extension at an exorbitant price. Cause I mean, he's already lost out a $9 million
03:38this year, just on principle, because he's, he's not going to play unless he gets a contract.
03:42I guess there's two things about this. One is a, we don't know that there's hesitation.
03:47We don't know that they haven't talked. We also don't know what the jets want. I mean,
03:51it depends on the asking price. It depends on the asking price of the contract. It depends
03:55what other players they might have interest in that come at a much cheaper price that
03:59make more sense. I'm not, I'm not convinced they're not going to address somebody across
04:03from Aiden Hutchinson. It just might not be Hassan Reddick. What if it's Max Crosby?
04:08Right. I would agree with you. I think that's something they're going to look at and it's,
04:13you know, one of my observations from the game last night, it's another game where James
04:17Houston gets in the game and does nothing. Well, he also did have a tackle, right? He
04:23didn't have a tackle. He didn't, it felt like he didn't get near the quarterback and this
04:29is, this is strange watching him because of what a phenomenal half a rookie season he
04:34had with the eight sacks and seven games. And we're all excited about him going to last
04:39year and then he, he gets hurt way early in the season, doesn't come back until you
04:44know, the playoffs and then, you know, still isn't quite right. I don't know what's wrong
04:49with him. If he's still not quite right physically or if it's just the team's figure out, Oh,
04:54well here's, he's a one trick pony. Here's his spin move and we got to be aware of this
04:57or his dip or whatever. And they know how to defend him or is he just not, I don't know.
05:04He's not the same. He doesn't look like the same guy.
05:06By the way, the Jets are two and two, a game out of first.
05:11Well, the Jets are not giving up their year.
05:12Do you think they're in cell mode right now? Do you think they,
05:14No, but they're doing this without Hassan Reddick. So if they can get something for
05:18Hassan Reddick, I think they'd do it in a heartbeat.
05:19Yeah. But the caller's premise was the Jets season is over.
05:23No, well, they're not.
05:24With Aaron Rodgers there, they're not going to mail it in ever for the most part. But I
05:27think his point was, and I think you guys are kind of getting onto it a little bit was
05:31if it's not a Hassan Reddick, is it somebody else though? Because Hutch, he's great. He's
05:35fantastic. But I saw him last night.
05:37He looked gassed at times because he goes all out every single play.
05:41And knock on wood, something happens to Hutch.
05:44It ain't that the answer isn't James Houston, clearly.
05:47And so I don't know who else the answer is.
05:49So do you think about going to get somebody, whoever that is, opposite Hutch, maybe to,
05:54you know, spell Hutch?
05:55I would say it's quite likely to probable that they are thinking about how they can help
06:00with the pass rush.
06:01Well, they're definitely trying Unzureke out there and he's he's doing OK.
