00:00John Amores is one of the most famous names in the field of basketball.

00:05After being involved in a fight that resulted in him being shot in Lumban, Laguna,

00:11should he be given another chance?

00:14This is Paolo Salamatin's response.

00:21In basketball, not only talent is the key to success.

00:24Discipline, respect, and sportsmanship are also included.

00:28Especially in the face of a fierce battle.

00:30John Amores is a promising player who used to play for Jose Rizal University.

00:36And currently a member of Northport Batangpierre.

00:39He was proud of his name in college and basketball.

00:42But despite his fame in court,

00:45he was not saved from controversies due to his aggressive attitude.

00:52In July 2022, he was involved in a fight

00:58where he punched Mark Belmonte of UP Fighting Maroons in UCBL.

01:02Belmonte suffered serious injuries

01:05where he had to undergo an operation.

01:10A few months later, Amores was again involved in a physical fight

01:15in November of 2022 in NCAA against College of St. Benilde.

01:20Here, he was eliminated and punched by the players and coaches of the opposing team.

01:27Because of this, he was removed from the JRU and was given an indefinite ban by NCAA.

01:38Despite his mistakes, many still gave him a chance.

01:42Amores played for Zamboanga Valientes and entered the PBA

01:46as the 51st overall pick of Northport Batangpierre.

01:51His return to basketball gave him hope that he can change his path.

01:59But this September, he was again involved in a fight

02:04after he was caught on CCTV firing a gun

02:08at his rival in a game in Lumban, Laguna.

02:12The PBA officially suspended him for the entire 49th season for no reason.

02:18The commissioner has decided that John Amores will be suspended for all his games

02:25in the next conference of the PBA's 49th season.

02:30In a recent social media post by PBA Motoclub,

02:34some former PBA players gave their advice to Amores.

02:39To me, I'm just gonna be brutally honest with you.

02:41Don't get mad at me. I hope you won't be offended.

02:44When I saw the 15-game suspension, I compared it to what happened to Alvin.

02:52You got off lightly for me.

02:54Guys, you know what you did was wrong, right?

02:56Yes.

02:57So, whatever happens, you will face the consequences.

03:01And I want you to return to the PBA stronger and better.

03:06Now that December is coming, Amores will face an important hearing

03:11on whether he will be given another chance to play in the PBA.

03:16But the question now is, should John Amores be given another chance

03:22or should he continue his career in basketball?
