00:00What's up guys, so I had a few people wanting me to revisit the LG V60 for 2024
00:06And yeah, it's kind of an awkward revisit because yes, LG is not making any more phones anymore
00:11The phone's not getting any more updates as well
00:15Let me go ahead and check and see which was the last update for this phone
00:21Yeah, so, you know, no more new updates for this phone
00:24But the good thing is that it did get Android 13, which I think surprised a lot of us
00:29So it does give the phone a little bit, you know, more longevity
00:33Now as far as people asking me, well, is there anything like wrong with the phone now that it's not getting more updates?
00:39No, I think people, like the thing around updates is confusing for people
00:44There's nothing that this phone can't do
00:46Like it still plays all the latest games, it still downloads all the applications
00:52Honestly, it'll probably still be able to do this for like several years
00:56I would say probably like three to six more years where this phone will still be able to still run most stuff
01:03We're seeing that already with phones like the Galaxy Note 9 still being able to run pretty much anything though
01:09The Play Store might not be able to run it like maxed out stuff
01:11But if you watch that Note 9 video, you'll be extremely surprised
01:16Now the V60 is a very unique phone and it's just a very interesting phone for people
01:22Even if you want to use it as a backup phone or just a secondary phone or even as a main phone
01:28Because it is really that good for the price it's at now
01:31You can easily find these as you can see for probably $150 for very good condition, $120 for a good condition
01:38Just, you know, remember some of these are going to be locked to probably AT&T, T-Mobile
01:42Like this one is locked to T-Mobile
01:45But yeah, so you can find these for really cheap
01:47And then remember you also have the dual screen case that you can pick up for around like $50 now
01:53So it's a really, really good deal considering that you get so much stuff with this phone
02:00The reason why a lot of people like to use this phone for a backup phone or whatever
02:04Or even just an MP3 player is because of the headphone jack
02:08It's not just a regular headphone jack
02:09It has a Hi-Fi Quad DAC in it which basically means you will get superior audio quality out of this device
02:16Especially if you got the right headphones, you got the right audio files
02:19You'll be pretty much blown away at the sound quality that the V60 is able to give out
02:24So it makes for a really good, you know, MP3 player if you're really into audio
02:28And now, you know, just speaking of the hardware
02:30Again, we have that dual screen case
02:33But the hardware is really solid on here
02:35It's IP68 dust and water resistant as well
02:38It's still built like a tank all these years later
02:40I don't have any real major scuffs or scratches on mine, surprisingly
02:43But IP68, dual speakers on here, that glossy back
02:47I love the blue color on here
02:49And I love the design on here still
02:51It still looks really nice and premium for, you know, 2024
02:57Alright, so let's talk about the display here
02:59The display still looks fantastic to me
03:02I think the only thing you could probably say that's a little bit dated is probably the waterdrop notch
03:06And also the fact that it does not have any type of high refresh rate
03:10But like I said, if you ask any V60 user in the comments
03:13They'll tell you that this is a pretty smooth 60Hz panel for the most part
03:17So it's a big phone at 6.8 inches
03:20And it's a 1080p display as well too
03:22And honestly, you would think that that would be another thing
03:26But this display still looks really sharp and clear for a 1080p panel
03:30So I never had really an issue with the display when I first got my hands on the device
03:35Even looking at the more high-res devices like the 1440p displays and stuff like that
03:39This still looks really good even compared to those
03:42So it's a fantastic display color-wise
03:46It's very vibrant
03:47It's a P-OLED display as well too
03:49It's HDR10+, as well
03:51And it has a pretty high PPI of 395
03:54So icons and everything still look really sharp on here
03:57And like I said, it is a pretty smooth 60Hz panel
04:00I'm telling you, ask anybody in the comments
04:03They'll tell you
04:04So the thing about the display
04:06And this is the thing that I think why LG made that move
04:09Is that it does have the dual-screen case
04:11So you can turn it into two, you know, 1080p displays
04:14And this phone does pretty good with battery life
04:17So I think that's why they did it
04:19Because I think 1440p might've would've hit the battery life a little bit
04:23But yeah, the display on here
04:24It's still a pretty awesome experience for the most part
04:27Now, software-wise, this phone, it got Android 13
04:31Can you use the phone without security patches?
04:34Yes, of course
04:34I mean, you can still use the Note 9 without security patches
04:38What a lot of people don't realize is that
04:39Most people typically get hacked from
04:43Usually phishing scams on their phone
04:45So the security patch thing is good to have
04:49But a phone is really never secure
04:51How do we know that?
04:51Because there's always a security patch coming out
04:53There's always somebody trying to hack and do something with a phone
04:56The phone is never really secure
04:58Now, I'm not like a cyber security expert or anything
05:00But I'm just telling you that your phone is really never secure
05:03If you guys remember back in the day with iOS, the jailbreaking thing
05:07Apple would try to patch it
05:08And then somebody would come along and hack it again
05:11And find another hole
05:12There's always going to be holes in software
05:14So I wouldn't really worry about that
05:16The only thing I would worry about is when the day comes
05:19Where the Play Store is not able to work
05:23And you can't update the apps
05:24That's where you kind of want to upgrade phones
05:28But as long as you can update the apps and stuff like that
05:31The phone is perfectly usable software-wise
05:33Because I know a lot of people might be concerned about that
05:35I wouldn't really worry about it
05:36And plus, you could just always put some antivirus software on it
05:40But like I said, that right there isn't even necessary to me
05:43But yeah, that's just my two cents

05:57You do have quite a bit going on here with the software

06:08And like I said earlier
06:10This is a phone that, honestly, you could use for a very cheap gaming phone
06:15If you want to, we have the Snapdragon 865 chipset on here
06:19And then we also have microSD card support
06:21It's on board with 128GB of internal storage
06:248GB of RAM on the base model
06:26This is still a really fast phone
06:28You can put it head-to-head with pretty much any phone
06:32You know, the latest flagship, honestly
06:33And it'll still do really well
06:36This phone, honestly, could do PUBG 90 frames
06:38But, you know, it's a 60Hz panel
06:42But it plays PUBG, HDR Extreme, 60 frames
06:46Easy, smooth
06:47And you'll be surprised, the Snapdragon 865 chip
06:50Is still really efficient when it comes to overall heat
06:54So this phone doesn't really get hot
06:56And what's cool about this phone is
06:58If you get the dual screen case
06:59You can take advantage of having the map on the other screen
07:03Which is really cool
07:04And also it does it for Asphalt 2 and a few other games
07:07So that's kind of cool
07:08It's kind of, you know, a unique little thing to it
07:11But yeah, gaming performance
07:12To get a phone that can game like this for, you know, $130
07:16I think it's still pretty good
07:19So I would buy this over like any budget phone
07:22Anybody who's on a strict budget
07:24And they want to kind of play competitively
07:26I would definitely look into this
07:28It's an extremely cheap option

07:57So, really good speaker quality on here

08:01And not just loud, the bass is good
08:04But very crystal clear sound coming out the V60 speakers as well too

08:18Yeah, so I just want you guys to know that
08:20But yeah, the speaker quality is pretty good
08:24For the most part, I really like it
08:26Alright, so one of the things that
08:28This is probably the only thing that is just kind of like meh with this phone
08:31Is that there's no face unlock with this phone
08:34And it's fine
08:36But the fingerprint scanner, it's an optical one
08:39And it works
08:41You know, it does work
08:42But you do have to apply a little bit of pressure to it
08:44So like the ultrasonic ones
08:46You could just like lightly tap
08:48But this one you do have to apply a little bit of pressure
08:50It's like a little nitpick of mine
08:53But it's not that big of a deal
08:55It does work perfectly fine
08:57Alright, so the cameras on the V60 here
08:59I still think the cameras are still pretty good
09:02For the most part, you guys saw
09:04I did a comparison with the S24 Ultra
09:07And it takes perfectly fine videos
09:09Of course, it's not going to be as good as the latest flagships
09:12Of course, there's also a really nice portrait mode on here
09:15Not portrait mode, but a manual camera mode on here
09:18Which I think is really nice
09:19So you do have a lot of control over the pictures you take
09:23But as far as the image quality goes
09:25You're still going to be getting
09:26I think pretty decent shots
09:28For the most part
09:29It only sort of shows its age
09:32In like low light
09:34Then you can kind of see its age
09:36But in good lighting
09:37It still can take a pretty good shot
09:38It's a 64 megapixel standard
09:4013 megapixel ultra wide

09:43And then you also can shoot in 8K30
09:45With a 10 megapixel selfie
09:47That shoots in 4K30
09:48You'll still get pretty solid performance
09:50When it comes to the camera
09:52The selfie was pretty decent

09:55So for this price
09:56I wasn't too mad at the cameras

09:59The only thing you can really nitpick at it

10:51That's perfectly understandable
10:52But for the price you're paying
10:54I think it's a phone to consider
10:55For the most part
10:56Especially for anybody
10:57Who's on a strict budget
10:58And you really want
10:59Something that's powerful

11:01You don't have a lot of money to spend
11:03This is going to be like
11:04An overkill for you
11:05So yeah
