00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the best Samsung phones to pick up for
00:04$200.
00:05So if you guys are in the market and this is your budget, I'm going to keep this as
00:10close to $200 as possible and the first phone that I would highly recommend you look at
00:16is actually a Galaxy S21 Ultra.
00:19So if you pick this phone up in good condition, you can actually find it for around $230.
00:24The S21 Ultra is a fantastic phone.
00:26If you pay a little bit more, I think $30 extra bucks, you can actually get this in
00:29excellent condition as well.
00:32But you do have on here an aluminum frame.
00:34It still has a really nice premium design on here, it's IP68 dust and water resistant
00:39and it also does have S-Pen support even though it's not built into the phone.
00:44And this phone is a very comfortable phone to hold.
00:46So there have been rumors that Samsung is actually going to go back to this design because
00:51of how comfortable it was at the time.
00:54So overall, nothing about this phone looks outdated.
00:56You still have the matte finish with the really great camera cutout.
01:00I really think it still looks excellent in 2024 here.
01:03You have a beautiful 6.8 inch Dynamic AMOLED display.
01:07It is a curved panel but it's not a dramatic curve, it does curve slightly.
01:11It's Dynamic AMOLED 120Hz HDR10+, with a peak brightness of 1500 nits and it is also
01:17full 1440p, 515 for the PPI and like I said even though it's a bigger phone, it is easier
01:23to hold than something like a Galaxy S24 Ultra, it's not as wide.
01:29So I think it's easier to hold for people with smaller hands.
01:32And then also this phone, it is running the One UI 6.1 update and it will also get the
01:38Android 15 update as well too which will be really exciting, we're going to cover that
01:43so be sure to subscribe.
01:45This phone is also running the Snapdragon 888 processor, 128 gigs of internal storage
01:49and 8 gigs of RAM.
01:51And I've done a ton of comparisons, a ton of videos on this phone and this phone overall
01:56general performance is fine, I did a day in the life with this phone.
02:01It's a very fast phone, it's very smooth especially with the One UI 6.1 update and I think the
02:06only thing here that you'll notice is that it does get warmer than usual if you're doing
02:11long periods of gaming.
02:12I've never had it crash on me or anything like that, I'm not an intense gamer but overall
02:17performance is fine.
02:18You can play pretty much Call of Duty, PUBG at really great settings on here, no problem.
02:24So this phone, it does have the circle to search but it doesn't have any of the AI features
02:30so just do note that, that's not going to be there.
02:32You also have pretty decent speakers on here, they get fairly loud so no issues with these
02:38speakers, good amount of bass going on here.
02:41And then we also do have of course all of our other features like Samsung desktop support
02:46and again the pen support is really great on here.
02:48The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is really fast as well.
02:51The best thing about the S21 Ultra is that it has a really great camera setup.
02:56It's a 108MP standard, 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and then a 10MP periscope
03:04telephoto with 10x optical zoom.
03:06You also have a 12MP ultrawide, it can also shoot in 8K 24 and then you have a 40MP selfie
03:12that shoots in 4K 60.
03:14So the overall cameras are really good, like I said I took this with me to Vegas and the
03:19picture just came out so good.
03:21The epic thing about this phone at this price point is that the zoom photography is extremely
03:27good.
03:28You can't find anything else at this price point that's going to take excellent 10x and
03:3230x zoom shots, you get the 100x on here and it actually still looks good.
03:37So I was really impressed with that.
03:39Battery life is okay on the S21 Ultra, it's not anything amazing honestly.
03:43You can get close to 6 hours of screen on time.
03:47As a lighter user I was able to get pretty close but if you're doing gaming and stuff
03:51like that, I just do know you're going to have to charge this phone.
03:54And the charging speed is not all that great, I don't think it's 25W so it's not really
04:00that fast.
04:01It's got a 5000mAh battery, it does have wireless and reverse wireless charging.
04:05Overall I mean it's a fantastic pick, I think it's my favorite pick on the list.
04:09Alright so next is the S22, so this is an awesome phone.
04:12I saw it as cheap as $219 on Amazon, I think for an excellent condition you can find it
04:16for $250 as well.
04:19It's got the full premium design and also it is IP68 dust and water resistant, has the
04:24classic Samsung cutout that they got rid of and overall still a very nice looking design
04:29in 2024 here.
04:30So you have a 6.1 inch dynamic AMOLED display, it is 120Hz HDR10+, it gets up to 1300 nits
04:37peak brightness and it has 1080p 425 for the PPI.
04:41It's a very beautiful display, very nice bezels on here, completely flat, overall really
04:46nice vibrant colors on here.
04:48The max brightness I got a question about, it's 1300 nits so yeah it's not super high
04:53for today's standards but it still looks pretty good outdoors, it's not like crazy crazy bright
04:58but you can still see it pretty easily.
05:01Alright so this phone it also got the 4 year pledge so we're on One UI 6.1.1 right now
05:06of course it'll get Android 15 and also you do have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on here, 128
05:13gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM.
05:16The biggest thing with the S22 in recent time is that this phone got the Galaxy AI update
05:23so you can take advantage of a lot of the Galaxy AI features, most of them are here
05:27except I think like one but it is really awesome, it breathes a lot of life into this phone
05:34as far as it being a quote unquote older flagship but gaming performance on here is pretty solid
05:40on the S22, again it has the same issue with the Snapdragon AAA processor, it does get
05:45a little bit warmer than I would like and then also the battery life, if you game a
05:49lot it'll really eat into your battery.
05:52This phone actually has pretty decent stereo speakers on here, decent bass, nothing too
05:57crazy, the fingerprint scanner is excellent and overall I don't really have any issues
06:02or complaints with this phone too much.
06:05So you do have on here still I think a really good camera system, it's a 50 megapixel standard,
06:0910 megapixel telephoto, 3x optical zoom with a 12 megapixel ultra wide that can shoot an
06:158K 24 with a 10 megapixel selfie that can shoot in 4K 60.
06:20This phone has excellent dynamic range, great colors, there's a lot of good consistency
06:24between the lenses.
06:26I would say the only thing is I'm starting to notice that this phone doesn't look as
06:29good in low light so that's my only complaint with this phone since it is a little bit of
06:35an older phone now but still, it still takes excellent photos, you guys can see from the
06:40shots here.
06:41The biggest issue you'll run into with this phone is actually the battery life.
06:44It's a 3700 mAh battery, 25W charging, it does have wireless and reverse wireless charging.
06:51It is pretty good overall besides the battery life, you're looking at like 4 hours 30 minutes
06:56of screen on time even if you're a light user, if you're a gamer you'd probably cut
07:00that down to like 3 hours and 30 minutes.
07:03So yeah, the battery life, this is a phone that you'll probably have to buy a battery
07:06pack with if you're going to be going somewhere where you'll be using your phone kind of intensely,
07:11a wireless charging pack or something like that.
07:14But besides that, it's an excellent phone.
07:15Alright guys, next is going to be the Galaxy A34 which you can find for around $230-$250
07:24and this is an excellent phone, I really like this device.
07:26It's got a pretty much all plastic build here but it does have a more of a premium look
07:31so it doesn't look like a super cheap phone.
07:34It is IP67 dust and water resistant.
07:37You have a pretty decent size 6.6 inch Super AMOLED display, it is 120Hz, 1000 nits peak
07:43brightness, 1080p, 390 for the PPI.
07:47Overall a pretty decent display, you kind of have the old school kind of water drop
07:50notch here but overall the colors look pretty good on the A34.
07:56This phone is going to get the 4 years of Android update so it did get the One UI 6.1
08:01update recently and it does have the MediaTek 1080 processor on here which was actually
08:07pretty impressive.
08:08It was a very speedy phone animation wise launching apps and playing games on here.
08:14It was able to play PUBG at smooth extreme which was pretty good.
08:18You also do have micro SD card support on here which is one of the big reasons so if
08:22you want a new phone and you want micro SD card support this is a very attractive option
08:27here.
08:28Now the base model is 128GB and 4GB of RAM.
08:32You can find the 128GB and 6GB of RAM for around that $250 price point I've been seeing.
08:38But yeah so overall the speakers sound pretty good on here as well too.
08:42They get pretty decently loud.
08:44The fingerprint scanner on here is optical.
08:47It works fine.
08:48You can also use face unlock.
08:49This does have the circle to search feature but you will not have any of the Galaxy AI
08:54features of course.
08:55And the cameras on here are pretty decent.
08:57They're not bad at all in my opinion.
08:59They do a pretty good job in good lighting.
09:02Only when you take it out of good lighting it can get a little bit soft and stuff like
09:05that but it's got a 48MP standard, 8MP ultra wide, 5MP macro, you can shoot in 4K 30 on
09:12the front and back, and then you also do have a 13MP selfie which does a pretty decent
09:17job as well too.
09:19So overall the cameras, they're not anything crazy but they definitely get the job done
09:23if you're like a point and shoot person especially if you're in good lighting.
09:27The most attractive thing about this phone is actually the battery life.
09:30You get really good screen on time with this phone I noticed.
09:33Really good standby time.
09:35It also has 25W charging which isn't too bad.
09:38Overall the A34, if you're looking for a new phone and you don't want to go the old
09:42flagship route, this is a pretty good option.
09:44The Galaxy S21 FE is also another excellent phone.
09:48You can find this as cheap as $150.
09:50In excellent condition you can find it for around $200 and this is an awesome, awesome
09:55phone.
09:56I absolutely love the design of the phone.
09:58It does have a plastic back but it does feel really premium still in my opinion.
10:03It looks still like a very premium phone.
10:05It's got the aluminum frame on here as well too.
10:07It's IP68 dust and water resistant and overall the display looks excellent on here.
10:12I think the display looks better than the newer FE models.
10:15It's a dynamic AMOLED display, 120Hz HDR10 Plus at 6.4 inches.
10:20Really good screen to body ratio on this phone as well so you get really respectable bezels
10:25on here.
10:26It's 1080p at 403 for the PPI.
10:29Beautiful panel, really great colors on here.
10:32Absolutely no complaints with the display.
10:35What's cool about the S21 FE and this is why I kind of prefer it over the S21 standard
10:40is that this phone will actually get up to Android 16 because it launched with Android
10:4412.
10:45So that is going to be really awesome to get an extra OS update.
10:49So you also have the Snapdragon AAA processor on here, 128GB of internal storage and 6GB
10:54of RAM.
10:55This phone also recently got the Circle to Search as well too which is really nice but
10:59again this phone does not have the Galaxy AI features.
11:02And overall performance is going to be pretty good on here.
11:05It does have the AAA processor so it is going to heat up a little bit if you're doing a
11:09lot of intensive gaming on here but performance wise I've never had an issue with this phone.
11:14It's always been very smooth, very snappy so absolutely zero issues in that department.
11:20The speakers are decent on here, no issues with that.
11:23They get pretty loud.
11:24You also do have an optical fingerprint scanner which works fine.
11:28A Samsung desktop support is here as well too.
11:31And then you also do have a pretty decent camera setup.
11:34It's a 12MP standard, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical, 12MP ultra wide.
11:40It shoots in 4K60 with a 32MP selfie camera that shoots in 4K60.
11:46So basically the shots on here look really good still.
11:49Great dynamic range, great colors, great consistency between the lenses.
11:53The only thing that you'll kind of run into with this phone is that since it's an older
11:57flagship you will notice that it gets a little bit soft and loses detail in low light which
12:03is to be expected with an older phone.
12:06But if you're in good lighting, overall pictures, videos, they still look pretty good on this
12:10phone.
12:11Battery life is pretty good on the FE.
12:13It's a 4500mAh battery with 25W charging and reverse wireless charging on here.
12:20So I'm able to get pretty close to 6 hours of screen on time.
12:23I've never had this phone give out on me in a day so that is really nice.
12:27So overall this is an excellent pick.
12:29And last is going to be the Galaxy S20 Ultra here.
12:31This is still a fantastic phone and it's got the aluminum frame, IP68 dust and water resistant
12:37and it overall still feels extremely comfortable in the hand especially for how big the phone
12:43is.
12:44So premium design on here of course but the screen is gigantic.
12:47It's a 6.9 inch display.
12:50It's Dynamic AMOLED, 120Hz HDR10+, it gets up to 1400 nits peak brightness.
12:55It is a 1440p display at 511 for the PPI but just do note that the 120Hz doesn't only
13:02work in 1080p.
13:04So this phone actually got it's last major OS update with Android 13, One UI 5.1.
13:08It is currently getting security patches and we actually do have an extremely efficient
13:13chipset on here.
13:14It's the Snapdragon 865 chipset and this thing is still blazing, blazing fast playing
13:20PUBG, Call of Duty, just pretty much doing anything on this phone is still really, really
13:25fast.
13:26So the big selling point with this phone is that you have micro SD card support for those
13:30who really need the extra storage.
13:32You have 128GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM on board.
13:36So overall performance wise this phone is still really fast and really no real hiccups
13:42with this processor here.
13:43So this phone also has excellent sounding speakers, very loud, very good quality here
13:49and then you also do have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which is also very fast.
13:54Now this phone does have a pretty good camera setup for the most part.
13:59It's a 108MP standard, it's a 48MP periscope telephoto.
14:03You've got the 4X optical with the 10x hybrid and a 12MP ultra wide.
14:08It has a 0.3 depth sensor and it can shoot in 8K 24 with a 40MP selfie that shoots in
14:144K 60.
14:15You can still get some really good shots out of the S20 Ultra and like I said the only
14:20thing with this phone is that it does not do as good in low light.
14:24It can get a little bit soft, a little bit grainy but it definitely still has an excellent
14:29camera if you're in good lighting I think.
14:31And the zoom photography is still pretty decent on here as well too so I was pretty impressed
14:36with that.
14:37Overall I think the camera is pretty good for this price point.
14:40So the most interesting thing about the S20 Ultra is actually the battery life.
14:45The battery life is excellent on this phone.
14:47I actually recently did a battery test this year and this thing is still fantastic.
14:52It lasts all day, it's really impressive.
14:55It's a 5000mAh battery with 45W charging and it does have wireless and reverse wireless
15:00charging on board and yeah I was really impressed so if you guys want to check that battery
15:04test out I thought it was pretty impressive.
15:06So these are the phones that I would recommend.
15:09Be sure to let me know what you guys think and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
