00:00But I want to go ahead and focus on this phone because this is, again, one of my favorite
00:05looking phones.
00:06Let me get it wiped down real quick.
00:08And I said that I believe that Samsung sort of borrowed this design with the S22 Ultra.
00:18And I don't know, some of you guys are like, what?
00:20But if you guys can see like the kind of similar body shapes and then you also have, really
00:26it's just a camera module.
00:28You can see, it looks like it's kind of inspired by the LG Velvet there.
00:36So I've always thought that was interesting.
00:37This is always one of my favorite looking phones just because of how unique it looks
00:41with the sort of teardrop camera module right here.
00:46And yeah, it just looks really cool here.
00:48This mirror color is not the best for filming videos and stuff like that because you can
00:53see scratches and it picks up fingerprints after a while.
00:57I've never used this phone with a case.
01:00But yeah, I really like the design here.
01:01It still looks really classy.
01:03So one awesome thing about the Velvet's hardware is that you do have a headphone jack still
01:09on here.
01:10Unfortunately, there's no quad DAC on here, USB type C, stereo speakers, and it is IP
01:18rated.
01:19It's IP68 dust and water resistant as well too.
01:22Just in general, it's a very thin and light phone.
01:25So that's one thing that I've always really liked about this phone.
01:28All right, so once we go ahead and look at the display here, you can see it's a very
01:34tall display.
01:35Super tall display.
01:36It's a P-OLED display at 6.8 inches and the screen to body ratio is around 88.6% which
01:44is pretty good.
01:45So you got really nice bezels, a slight curve to the display as well.
01:50It's 1080p 395 for the PPI.
01:53So the viewing experience is pretty good on this phone.
01:57And like I said, it's got just a really tall phone.
02:00So if you're somebody with smaller hands, this is kind of a phone that you're sort of
02:05destined to two hand forever because it's just really tall.
02:10But other than that, the display is really nice.
02:13Colors look really nice and vibrant.
02:14Icons look really crisp.
02:17Even for a 1080p panel, it's still a very high quality one.
02:21So that is one thing that I've always liked about LG's 1080p panels, even on the V60.
02:27Honestly, you put it next to a 1440p panel, it still looks really good and really sharp
02:31somehow.
02:33You do have your water drop notch up here as well too.
02:37And yeah, so the display I have no issues with.
02:40It really has grown on me.
02:42So as far as like the video watching experience, right?
02:45So most people want to know like how does it look when you're zoomed into the video.
02:54So this is how I usually watch videos.
02:57Half the time I don't even zoom in.
02:58But you can see it kind of zooms in like that.
03:01So it's really for like those movies that are super wide.
03:05I watch a movie like that and yeah, once you zoom in, it's really nice to look at that
03:09movie on like a display like this.
03:12And I think Sony kind of makes displays like this as well too where it's super tall.
03:17Theirs might actually be a little bit like taller I think.
03:20But yeah, so I actually like the display.
03:22Now, I do want to talk about the specs a little bit more.
03:25This phone is running the Snapdragon 765G and the Adreno 620 micro SD card support is
03:31on board.
03:32The base model has 128 gigs of internal storage and you also have 6 or 8 gigs of RAM on here.
03:39So performance wise, you get pretty good performance with the LG Velvet in general
03:43just balancing in-app applications, stuff like that.
03:46Gaming is also pretty good on this phone as well too.
03:50If you're a casual gamer, this easily will play anything in the Play Store no problem.
03:54But it won't do as good of a job as something like the LG V60 with the Snapdragon 865 chip.
04:01That phone will be able to play games at the highest settings.
04:04This phone, it does not play games at the highest setting like PUBG and stuff like that.
04:08But it does a really good job at just playing games in general, again for the casual person.
04:14So yeah, so if you want to like max games out, I would recommend going with a V60.
04:19But for general overall performance, it is very, very fast phone still.
04:25I also do want to mention that this phone does have the dual screen case capability
04:30as well too.
04:31So basically, you can turn it into two phones essentially and do very true multitasking
04:36on this phone.
04:37The cases are going for I think around $100 on eBay.
04:41So you can definitely purchase one of those if you're really into multitasking.
04:46As far as the whole experience with the LG UI here, it's still fast.
04:51I've never understood why LG got such flag for their UI.
04:54I think they really cleaned it up.
04:56Like I said, very fast UI here.
05:00And I like the way everything looks and everything's set up here.
05:02If we go ahead and check out the toggles here, we do have screen recording.
05:07Screen sharing actually works really well.
05:10So you can beam it to a TV wirelessly.
05:12The LG 3D sound engine comes in handy as well too.
05:17This phone does have NFC on it as well.
05:20So I don't have an issue with the skin on this phone at all really.
05:24Very good sound on these speakers on here.
05:38Very loud.
05:39Very good quality from this top speaker as well too.
05:54I do think the overall speaker quality sounds better with the LG sound engine off in my
06:02opinion.
06:03When you put headphones in and you kind of equalize it, I think it sounds better with
06:07headphones in.
06:09But honestly, if you just play around with the equalizer, you can get it to sound how
06:12you want.
06:13But the speakers are great on here and also the vibration motor is pretty good on here.
06:18You can feel the phone vibrating pretty well so you won't miss notifications and stuff
06:22like that.
06:23Alright, so we need to talk about the fingerprint scanner.
06:26So the fingerprint scanner is fine on here.
06:28I don't have an issue with it.
06:32It works really well.
06:34Like I said, it's not one of those Samsung ones where you can just kind of tap it and
06:38it'll open.
06:39You kind of have to apply just a little bit of pressure.
06:42It's basically like the V60 but it does work no problem.
06:46Unfortunately, this phone does not have any face unlock which is kind of sad because I
06:50usually always prefer like two methods.
06:53But yeah, it is what it is.
06:55So as far as like the specs and everything, everything is really specced out on this phone
07:00and it's just a really solid experience especially for the price that you can get this phone
07:04at.
07:05You can honestly get this phone for around $250.
07:09It's really cheap.
07:10I'll have the link down below.
07:11And yeah, I just absolutely love the experience that this phone gives me.
07:16So we need to talk about the image quality.
07:19So are the cameras good?
07:22And I think the cameras are pretty good especially for this price point.
07:25So it has a 48 megapixel standard and then you also have an 8 megapixel ultra wide, a
07:315 megapixel depth sensor.
07:32It shoots in 4K 30 and then you also have a 16 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 1080p
07:4030.
07:41Image quality is pretty good on this phone.
07:44I don't have any issues with it.
07:46And honestly, I've never had people complain about the image quality on this phone.
07:50I think it is overall pretty solid.
07:52Yes, if you take it out of good lighting, it can get a little bit soft but in general,
07:59the image quality is pretty good on here so I was really happy with that.
08:04The ultra wide is also pretty close to the main lens as well in terms of color.
08:09Maybe not in terms of detail but it is pretty good ultra wide.
08:14So the depth sensor on here is fine.
08:17You can get a pretty decent portrait shot on here.
08:19I wish it had 4K 60 but it is what it is and I wish the front camera was 4K 60 as well
08:26too.
08:27But other than that, I think you're getting a pretty good camera experience on this phone
08:31especially considering the price.
08:34So lastly, we need to talk about the battery life and the battery life is pretty good on
08:42here.
08:43This phone will easily get over 6 hours of screen on time.
08:46So this phone does have a 4300 mAh battery.
08:49It charges at 25 watts so it does charge somewhat decently fast and then you also have wireless
08:55charging on this phone as well.
08:58And overall, the battery life experience is pretty good on this phone and I actually gave
09:02this phone to my mother and she actually really likes this phone over her iPhone 13 surprisingly.
09:09So I might bring her on to just let us know because she actually really loves this phone.
09:14I actually don't use this phone as much now because I actually gave it to her to use.
09:19So she really likes to do like the content creation on here with like TikTok and with
09:25her stuff that she does.
09:27So she takes a lot of pictures and she really likes the whole Android experience in general
09:32which I was really surprised with because I actually gave her that iPhone.
09:35So she really likes this phone.
09:37So she's always asking about it as soon as I take it.
09:40But yeah, so this is a really good phone.
09:42I mean, I really, really like this device.
09:44It's only going to get cheaper.
09:46I'm super shocked that this got Android 12 first.
09:51So that was pretty interesting.
09:53So yeah, so be sure to let me know what do you guys think and I'll catch you guys in
09:56the next one.
