00:00What's up guys, today I wanted to go ahead and revisit the Galaxy S10 5G.
00:05This is a phone that I really, really like and I think a lot of people liked when I first
00:09introduced it on the channel.
00:11Even though these phones are kind of hard to find unlocked, you can find them unlocked,
00:15I just went with the Verizon version on Amazon and it's come down in price a little bit to
00:20$225 so it's definitely less expensive than when I bought it.
00:27I really like this phone because it has a more modern size than the Galaxy S10 Plus
00:32that a lot of people like.
00:33That's a 6.4 inch phone, this is a 6.7 inch phone so I think a lot of people like that
00:38sort of size because I've been told that the S10 Plus 6.4 inch is not super massive I guess.
00:48Let's go ahead and start there with the screen on here.
00:50The screen is absolutely beautiful on here.
00:53It's a dynamic AMOLED display, HDR10+, it's full of 1440p 502PPI and it's a beautiful
01:01screen on here, absolutely love it, just super vibrant colors.
01:05You do have the double punch hole and I get asked about the double punch hole a lot.
01:09So basically once you get used to the phone, I would say like a day or two you really won't
01:14notice the double punch hole at all really.
01:18Your eyes just sort of ignore it so it's not really a big deal.
01:23Plus it's off to the right side so that's why I said I think it becomes less noticeable
01:29even in the center punch holes in my opinion.
01:33Beautiful display, it does have a slight curve to it as well and yeah it's just a big beautiful
01:38display for anybody who's looking for a Galaxy S10 series phone and you don't want the biggest
01:45phone that you can get in that series.
01:47This is definitely it.
01:49So this phone's design is also pretty similar to all the rest of the S10 series phones,
01:56glass and metal device, it's got the same camera design, but there is a hardware difference
02:01with this phone.
02:02So this phone does not have any type of SD card support.
02:06It still retains the headphone jack, but there's no SD card support.
02:10But with the base model on this phone, it is 256 gigs of internal storage and then 8
02:15gigs of RAM.
02:17If you don't find yourself recording a lot of video or just downloading a lot of games
02:22and stuff like that, I think the 256 is definitely fine for most people.
02:27Also this phone, performance wise, I dropped a full gaming test last year and man it was
02:33pretty impressive guys.
02:34If you guys didn't check that out, play Genshin, Call of Duty, PUBG, it did a fantastic job.
02:39The Snapdragon 855 chip is still extremely efficient when it comes to gaming.
02:45I was gaming for a good amount of time and this phone had no issues.
02:49So like I said, old flagships are just excellent for anybody who wants to game on their phone
02:54and not spend a ton of money.
02:56You get great settings, great performance, you don't get a lot of the overheating problems
03:01and the phone getting really hot that you will get with the newer phones.
03:05So I absolutely love the gaming performance on here.
03:08Alright, so I do want to talk about the software with this phone because this phone last update
03:14it did get the One UI 4.1 update on Android 12 and it's been running pretty smooth.
03:21I haven't had any issues.
03:23It's in the same boat as the rest of the S10 series phones as far as software updates.
03:29It will only get security patches for I think the next two to three years.
03:34So that's, you know, the boat it's in.
03:38This phone does have Samsung desktop support on here.
03:41Really all of your flagship features, secure folders, reverse wireless charging, NFC is
03:45on here, IP68 dust and water resistant is on here.
03:48So a lot of your main software features are still on here.
03:51So you still get a very premium, you know, experience on this phone.
03:56And like I said, buttery smooth on here, haven't had any issues with performance.
04:01So that's always kind of a thing you worry about with, you know, these software updates
04:05on older phones is are they going to mess it up?
04:08And this phone does a pretty good job at that.
04:12It stays pretty smooth for the most part.
04:14So I have no complaints.
04:16Also want to talk about the speaker quality.
04:19I don't know if this is a different sort of speaker setup or something, but this has one
04:23of the loudest speakers in any Samsung flagship, which I thought was crazy because it sounds
04:28really, really good.
04:29And I just like wanted to make sure.
04:31So I started comparing it to my other ones.
04:34And I'm telling you, this is one of like the loudest speakers.
04:40It's really that top speaker is so much louder than most Samsung flagships, especially if
04:54you, when you put it down on a flat surface, it just super loud.
05:04Yeah, so I absolutely love the speakers.
05:09One of my favorite speakers on the Samsung flagship just sounds really, really, you know,
05:16just full, great bass, good mids and highs, very impressive speakers.
05:20All right.
05:21So I do want to go ahead and talk about the fingerprint scanner as well.
05:26That works really well.
05:27And then you also can take advantage of the face unlock as well too.
05:31So like I said, you still get a very premium smartphone experience for very cheap.
05:37It's one of the things that, you know, I really love about this phone.
05:39And like I said, a lot of you guys are going to like the actual size of this phone because
05:43unlike again, the S10+, this one is actually, I guess, more modern in terms of size.
05:49The S10 5G does take some pretty good photos still.
05:52It has a triple camera setup, a 12 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel telephoto, it does
05:572x optical, and then a 16 megapixel ultrawide, and then you have a 0.3 depth sensor, 4K 60
06:04video, and then a 10 megapixel selfie cam on here, and then you also have a depth sensor
06:09that shoots in 4K 60 as well for the front cam.
06:12And you're going to get some great photos on here for sure.
06:16As an older flagship, I think the image quality looks fine on this phone.
06:21And again, it suffers from, I think, when, you know, most older flagships, if you sort
06:25of take it out of, you know, really good lighting, it'll sort of get soft.
06:30But if it's in good lighting, it's going to take an absolutely great photo.
06:34I thought, you know, if you're in good lighting condition, very crispy, good dynamic range,
06:39great detail.
06:40Yeah, I just think it does a fantastic job even with video as well too.
06:45So again, I had no issues with image quality on here.
06:48I was actually pretty impressed when you take this thing outdoors.
06:52So yeah, so image quality, I think it's still really solid on here, and the video is pretty
06:56solid as well.
06:58Portrait shots look pretty good.
07:00Selfie cam looks pretty good.
07:01Overall, I think it's a pretty good camera.
07:06Now I think one of the most impressive things about this phone is this phone has the best
07:10battery life out of the S10 series.
07:13So it actually has one of the bigger batteries at 4,500 milliamps, and it's pretty impressive.
07:19It does a really good job with standby time as well, and it definitely can get you all-day
07:24battery life.
07:25But like I said, the standby time on here is really good, unlike, you know, the S10+.
07:31If you charge these both to like 100% or any of the S10 series phones, this one will always
07:37be last to die.
07:38So that's what I really like about this phone.
07:41Battery life is pretty good on here.
07:44Also, this thing charges pretty decently fast at 25 watts.
07:49So that's pretty good.
07:50And also you do have your wireless and reverse wireless charging.
07:54But yeah, I just really like this phone.
07:57I think a lot of people forget about this phone since, and again, a lot of people probably
08:03don't like the fact that they took away the SD card with this phone.
08:07But like I said, if you want a phone with a headphone jack that's super cheap, beautiful
08:13screen, beautiful big screen, then yeah, you know, I have a comparison with the S10+,
08:18so I'm not really going over that.
08:20But yeah guys, I really like this phone.
08:21It's got the 5G capabilities, you know, but you know, it's on Verizon.
08:26Like I said, it's hard to find these unlocked.
08:29But yeah, so I think it's a pretty solid phone, guys.
