‘Kristine’ may loop back toward West Philippine Sea after PAR exit

Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine” (international name “Trami”) is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Friday afternoon, Oct. 25, after unleashing strong winds and heavy rains across the country.   A few days after exiting the PAR, PAGASA said there is a possibility that Kristine may loop back over the West Philippine Sea by Sunday or Monday, Oct. 27 or 28, which could result in its return to the PAR. 00:02Earlier this afternoon, she was at the coastal waters of Santa Lucia, Ilocos Sur.

00:08The strong winds were blowing at a speed of 95 kilometers per hour

00:12near the center of the city and reached 145 kilometers per hour.

00:17It was moving in the direction of Canluran very slowly.

00:20This is Christine. She is still remaining in the severe tropical storm category.

00:25Aside from Christine, we are also monitoring the low-pressure area.

00:29This is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:32This low-pressure area still has a high chance of a storm in the next 24 hours.

03:22in the northern portion of Ilocos Region,

03:24Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora,

03:28Metro Manila, Laguna, Rizal, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque,

03:33Romblon, Antique, Aklan, Negros Occidental, Palawan,

03:39By tomorrow, heavy to intense rains,

03:42in Pangasinan, Zambales, and La Union,

03:44and moderate to heavy rains,

03:46in the northern portion of Ilocos Region,

03:48Bataan, Antique, Aklan, and Negros Occidental.

03:53We also expect that in high and mountainous areas,

03:58there will be higher amounts of rainfall,

04:00and be careful of those who live in low-lying areas

04:03and flood-prone areas due to floods or landslides.

04:11there will be heavy rainfall in areas outside wind signal areas.
