00:00I am Benison Estareja, and we have an update regarding the severe tropical storm Christine, with international name Trami, as of 5 in the morning, Friday.
00:15We are now in the West Philippines, and this is the latest forecast.
00:19125 kilometers north of La Union.
00:23Maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near its center.
00:28And gustiness up to 115 kilometers per hour.
00:32Partly, the storm is speeding away from our land.
00:3525 kilometers per hour fast.
00:37West-northwest.
00:38As seen in our latest satellite animation, this thick cloud is still associated with the storm Christine, especially in the western sections of Luzon.
00:47While the scattered rains are still expected in the remaining parts of Luzon and Visayas.
00:53This is the latest track regarding the storm Christine.
00:56It is expected that it is still moving away from our land in the next 12 hours.
01:00And it is possible that the Philippine Area of Responsibility will be released later this afternoon.
01:05However, knowing that it is still close to our land, and the storm Christine is wide, around 700 to 750 kilometers.
01:14Its radius and width is 1,400 kilometers.
01:18It is possible that we will still have wind signals, and a large part of Luzon will still be affected by our next bulletins.
01:26It is expected that there will still be a severe tropical storm as it moves away from our land.
01:30However, based on our latest track, it is possible that it will move away by Sunday and Monday.
01:36Then by Monday, while it is in the east of Central Vietnam, the direction will be released.
01:42There will be a looping back to our land in the direction of Luzon.
01:46And we are still not ruling out that it will enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility again.
01:52It is expected that there will be a severe tropical storm while it is in the ocean.
01:57And the impact of the storm Christine is influenced by another storm that is outside our bar.
02:05As of 4 in the morning, our Tropical Depression that we are monitoring,
02:08in the east of Mindanao, is 2,440 kilometers away from the east of Eastern Visayas.
02:14As of 4 in the morning, it is 55 kilometers per hour and 70 kilometers per hour.
02:22The low-pressure area in its north is more than 2,500 kilometers east of Visayas.
02:29And eventually, because this is a low-chance storm,
02:32it is possible that it will become a trough or part of the Tropical Depression.
02:36It is expected that from now until the weekend, it will move closer to our land
02:42and the Tropical Depression will get stronger.
02:46Based on our latest Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential forecast,
02:51it is possible that by the weekend, the Philippine Area of Responsibility will enter the Tropical Depression.
02:57And if ever there is a storm, we will call it the Lion Storm.
03:02It is possible that by then, it will be a tropical storm or a severe tropical storm
03:06and it is expected to move west-northwest or up to the left.
03:11It will reach the Philippine Sea early next week.
03:18Starting from Wednesday next week until the weekend,
03:21it will move slowly along the coast of the extreme northern zone.
03:25It will recurve and move up to the eastern part of Taiwan
03:29and the Philippine Area of Responsibility will exit by the end of the first week of November.
03:35We can see by this time, the influence of the return or looping of the Philippine Cyclone Christine
03:40to the approaching of the Lion Storm.
03:43If the distance of the two storms reaches less than 1,400 kilometers
03:47and they will remain strong as a tropical storm minimum,
03:51then we may have the so-called Fujiwara Effect or the interaction of the two storms.
03:58That is why it is possible that the movement of the two storms will move around
04:02but it will not last.
04:04Eventually, it will move away from our land, the so-called Lion Storm,
04:08and it will also weaken, the Christine Storm, by the first week of November.
04:14As of now, because of the Christine Storm,
04:16we still have the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals No. 2 and No. 1
04:19in a large part of Luzon and Visayas.
04:22We expect the Signal No. 2 or up to 95 or 88 kilometers per hour
04:27strong winds in Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Calinga, Abra, Ifugao,
04:35Mountain Province, and Benguet.
04:37Signal No. 2 also in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, and Nueva Iziha.
04:46Signal No. 2 also, we expect strong winds in Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan,
04:53also in Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Signal No. 2 this morning,
04:58also in the northern part of Cavite, northern part of Rizal, and General Nacar in Quezon Province.

05:11particularly rest of Rizal, rest of Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, rest of Quezon,

05:35northern and central part of Sorsogon, also in the northern and central portions of Masbate,
05:40Burias and Tikau Islands, Signal No. 1 in Aklan, Capiz, Antique, and northwestern portion of Iloilo.
05:49Some parts of Negros Island plus Iloilo, Signal No. 1 was also removed.
05:54And eventually, in our next bulletins, Signal No. 1 will be removed in southern Luzon and Visayas,
06:01and we will proceed to downgrade in central and southern Luzon,
06:05becoming Signal No. 1 in our next bulletins while this typhoon Christine is moving away from the mainland.
06:13These are the places that will experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.
06:18If they will notice, the rainfall will be reduced and the places where it will rain.
06:23Expect moderate to heavy rains here in Mayla Union, Pangasinan, Penget, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan.
06:35In the remaining part of Luzon, including Metro Manila, as well as the remaining part of Visayas,
06:40expect heavy rain and thunderstorms this morning.
06:44There are times when the rainfall will be reduced, especially when it reaches afternoon to night.
06:49And at some point in the afternoon, it is possible that the sun will show up for most of Luzon and Visayas.
06:56Even so, we will still experience heavy rainfall in some areas.
07:00We mentioned that there will be moderate to heavy rains.
07:03There is still a high chance of flooding in low-lying areas.
07:07Waterlogging is still possible, especially if it is still raining in the mountains.
07:11Suddenly, the water level will drop in your area.
07:13And then, expect landslides.
07:16If the land is saturated or the water cannot be absorbed, landslides may occur.
07:22That is why we should make sure that we are coordinated with our local disaster risk reduction and management offices
07:27if evacuation is still needed, especially those who are affected by flooding.
07:32And also coordinate with local chief executives for possible work and class suspensions.
07:40For those who will experience heavy rainfall in remote areas from the typhoon,
07:45we still expect heavy rainfall in Mimaropa, Bicol region, as well as in a large part of Visayas,

08:12due to the outer portion of the typhoon Christine.
08:17And when it comes to landslides, we still have gale warning or possible sea travel suspensions
08:22for the next 24 hours.
08:24Up to 7 meters of landslides or more than two layers of landslides are possible
08:29in the northern and western seaboards of Luzon, particularly in Batanes, Northern Cagayan,
08:34as well as Babuyan Islands.
08:36In the entire Ilocos region, landslides are possible up to 7 meters high.
08:40Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Pababa ng Cavite, Batangas, and Lubang Island.

08:52including the eastern coast of Cagayan, Isabela, Pababa ng Quezon, Metro Manila, Bulacan,
08:59mainland Occidental Mindoro, and Hilagang Baybayin of Palawan,
09:03as well as Kalamian, Cuyo, Kalayaan, and Cagayan Silio.

09:37If there are no signals, but there is still a gale warning, it is still possible to suspend small sea vehicles.
09:44And when it comes to storm waves, while the storm Christine is moving away,
09:49our waves will also decrease, but there are still up to 2 meters here in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales.
09:57So make sure that we can also coordinate if we see that the waves are increasing, those remaining in coastal areas.
