00:00One year ago today, you know who was trending to be the number one seed in the NFC?
00:05Philadelphia.
00:06They were 8-1.
00:09They proceeded to go 3-5 down the stretch.
00:13The Cowboys came from two and a half games back, won the division, and Philly got bounced
00:20in the first round by Tampa.
00:22And then Dallas got bounced in the first round by Green Bay.
00:25The point being, that's how much things can change between now and the end of the season.
00:31Because I was trying to think, well, what's the equivalent?
00:33I guess the equivalent is the Bears come back and win the division, take it from the Lions,
00:38and the Lions lose to the Rams in the first round of the playoffs.
00:42Which is, I mean, it's honestly unthinkable the way these teams are playing.
00:48But if we had done that, if we'd set that scenario up a year ago and say Philly, yeah,
00:52Philly's 8-1, but Dallas, who was, I believe at the time, 5-3, came from that deficit,
01:01won the division.
01:02And Philly unraveled.
01:04Now there's a lot of differences, OK?
01:07We can point them all out.
01:08At the time, I don't think anybody realized what a foof Sirianni has kind of turned into.
01:15And people have a ton of faith in Dan Campbell keeping this thing together.
01:20I asked Jared Goff about trying to, how do you bottle this?
01:23How do you keep it up?
01:24And he said, look, we're going to face some adversity the rest of the way, and he's right.
01:28I was glad that he said that they've already faced adversity, like we already talked about,
01:32all the injuries.
01:33They've faced adversity.
01:34They've got a wide receiver suspended for two games.
01:37Jame-O's not able to play on Sunday.
01:40But they'll find a way.
01:42And it's just, it's impressive.
01:45They've had injuries, big guys being banged up on the offensive line.
01:50Players have missed a game here and there.
01:53They've been through it.
01:54And because they've stayed together, this team has been built from the ground up.
02:00From four years ago when they first inherited Jared Goff and the draft picks and then went
02:05to the draft.
02:07They have completely rebuilt this roster with very few exceptions.
02:12And these guys can say, they can rely on things that happened two years ago, and so we overcame
02:18that two years ago, or last season.
02:21It doesn't just have to be germane to this year.
02:23Because they've all stuck together and been there together for this long.
02:26It's also interesting, when you bring up the data with Dallas and what happened last year
02:30with Philadelphia and the flip-flop there, you can't, you know, momentum, I guess, would
02:35mean nothing.
02:36Because if Dallas had the momentum screaming into the playoffs and then they got smoked
02:39at home by Green Bay, you know, what does that say?
02:42It, you know, the team that looks like the best football team during the entire course
02:46of the season, that's probably the team that's the best football team.
02:49It's not the one that gets hot at the end, or the one that was hot at the beginning.
02:52You've got to be consistent.
02:53And Detroit's play has carried over a number of years.
02:55I mean, also a year ago, Kansas City was 7-2, right?
02:58I mean, they went on to win the Super Bowl.
03:00Like they...
03:01Who'd they lose to?
03:02They were playing, well, they lost to the opener, and then they only lost one other game
03:05between now and Week 9, the Week 9 game from a year ago, right before the trade deadline.
03:10And so it's, I guess, I just don't know how, I hope they can bottle this.
03:17I hope they can bottle this, because they're living the dream.
03:21I mean, it's one of those weird things where, how many, how often do you watch the Lions
03:26play this year and say to yourself, I can't believe this is our football team?
03:31Like I cannot believe this is our football team.
03:37And that they're going out and, I mean, offensively, I meant what I said to Goff, I feel like they're
03:44showing off.
03:45I fully expect at some point this year, Jake Bates is going to throw a touchdown pass
03:50to T.J.
03:51Lang.
03:52Like they're going to just do something.
03:53To T.J.
03:54Lang?
03:55They're going to do something like that.
03:56They're going to, because what else can we do?
04:00Just because we can.
04:01I hear you.
04:02In all honesty, it feels like that Panay Sewell is going to throw a football pass.
04:07And without question, and I sit here and I don't want to come across like you're a fan
04:13of another team.
04:15How arrogant is this Karsh guy?
04:17It's stunned.
04:18It's not, I don't misinterpret this.
04:20I am stunned at the product we are seeing from the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
04:28And I guess we shouldn't be because there's a lot of evidence that supports this is who
04:32they are.
04:34It's still just some sort of alternate universe thing, given how long we have suffered.
04:39And the dude Chris from New York calls and says that people in New York are saying, you
04:43guys deserve this, which is awesome.
04:45It's really cool.
04:46People aren't going to find this to be a cute story that they actually kind of like forever.
04:51No.
04:52No, but I feel like it is a great story.
04:57And unfortunately, this story has been, has been told in a while.
05:02I feel like that back in the day, people love Barry Sanders.
05:08And when that Lions team was good, I think maybe people around this country, they were
05:11rooting for the Lions with Barry Sanders.
05:13And he was easy to like because the Lions were harmless.
05:16And he was a humble guy and just hand the ball off.
05:18He wasn't, you know, brash or any of that.
05:20And that's what the whole team was, you know, this team is different.
05:26This team has style, they've got sizzle.
05:29And when that caller said that, you know, there's so much fun to watch, maybe the most
05:34fun he's ever seen watching a football team outside of one of his own teams.
05:38You know, I start to think immediately jarred memories to me of, okay, what's the most fun
05:42I've watched a football team in my life.
05:46And it's probably the San Diego Chargers from the 80s with the early 80s with Dan Fouts.
05:50And they had all those offensive weapons.
05:51They were amazing with Jefferson and Joyner and Wes Chandler and Chuck Muncy and all these
05:56guys.
05:57They were amazing offensively.
05:58It was so much fun to watch the greatest show on turf.
06:02You know, the Rams team from the St. Louis Rams team, they were fun to watch.
06:08Is this team more fun to watch than that?
06:10Is this for us?
06:11I mean, certainly for us, Kansas City's team from whatever it was, six, seven years ago
06:16when they were just starting to get really good and Tyreek Hill was there.
06:21And I think Meikle Harmon was there the first time and they have Kareem Hunt on those teams.
06:26That was a explosive team to watch.
06:30This team is incredible to watch because they have so many different ways they can
06:34go offensively.
06:36You know, things don't get stale.
06:39They spice things up all the time.
06:41It's just, it's incredible to watch.
