Fairly cloudy for much of England, Wales and Northern Ireland this afternoon. Some outbreaks of rain across the Northern Isles, but remaining largely dry elsewhere. Some brighter spells at times, particularly across Scotland and southeast England with temperatures near average for this time of year, feeling pleasant in any sunshine. Into the evening, remaining largely dry, with cloud pushing north, leaving clearer skies for much of southern England, where there will be a risk of mist and fog patches developing overnight. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the afternoon of 30/10/24. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Honor Criswick.

00:00Hello, good afternoon, quite a cloudy afternoon on offer for some of us and staying rather
00:05cloudy through the rest of the week but it is going to remain dry, even going to see
00:09some brighter spells at times today too, particularly at times across Scotland, parts of the south,
00:14south east should see some brighter spells this afternoon but for much of England and
00:19Wales, Northern Ireland, it's going to remain fairly cloudy and even at times across the
00:24Northern Isles, a fair amount of cloud here, even seeing some light outbreaks of rain by
00:27the time we reach the afternoon but elsewhere it should remain largely dry and with temperatures
00:32just above average for the time of year, feeling pleasant where you do catch those brighter
00:36spells.
00:37As we head into the evening, there's not much change really, once again a mix of cloud
00:42and some clearer spells and where we see those clearer spells stick around, we could see
00:46some pockets of mist and fog develop. Slight change just across the far north west of Scotland
00:51where we'll see quite a damp morning by the time we reach Thursday but otherwise staying
00:55largely dry and once again a fairly mild night on offer though it is going to be turning
00:59chilly where those clearer skies stick around.
01:03Through Thursday we're not going to see much change once again as that high pressure is
01:06sticking around, though it is going to remain fairly damp across the far north west of Scotland
01:11and across the Northern Isles too, we could see some outbreaks of rain through much of
01:14the day but elsewhere, once again, some clouds, some brighter spells and staying largely dry
01:20too and temperatures remaining fairly similar as well so feeling rather similar to what
01:25it does this afternoon.
01:27If you're heading out trick or treating for Halloween, the good news is it is staying
01:31largely dry, away from the north west of Scotland and the Northern Isles where we're going to
01:35continue to see those outbreaks of rain and it's going to remain fairly mild too as we
01:39head into Thursday evening too so perfect if you are out and about celebrating Halloween.
