00:00A wonderful Wednesday evening to all, yours truly Denise Osorio and this is PTV News Now.
00:12And we kick off this evening's stories with…
00:15Hindsight is always 20-20 vision, and seeing the widespread devastation visited by Tropical
00:20Storm Trami, also known as Christine, on the provinces of Sorsogon, Albay and Camarinas
00:26Sur.
00:27Mayor Martin L. Solon Elizalde Co. today put forth a plan to build large-scale water impoundment
00:32infrastructure in the aforementioned provinces to mitigate any future flooding or calamity
00:39contingency or in times of drought or extreme heat and dryness.
00:43The Chairperson of the House Committee on Appropriations cited the pluses of such infrastructure
00:49for water management, a long-term fix for flooding, a fixture for irrigation whose bottom
00:54line is food security, and to quench and address the multifarious needs of human communities
01:00to include climate change response.
01:03The Bicolano Lawmaker envisions facilities or structures similar to the six-story water
01:08impounding system in Bonifacio Global City that captures rainwater.
01:15Vice President and Democrat Party Presidential Standard Bearer Kamala Harris for her major
01:19and closing campaign speech took to the stage in the nation's capital where more than three
01:25and a half years ago, then-former President Donald Trump riled up a crowd of rabid supporters
01:31to storm the Capitol building and stop the United States Congress' certification of President-elect
01:37Joe Biden as America's 46th President.
01:40A cheering crowd of about 75,000 of flag-waving supporters celebrated her as she delivered
01:46a fiery speech, reminding everyone at hand and watching remotely of his unsuccessful
01:51power grab on January 6, 2021, and his repeated vows to be even more merciless in prosecuting
01:59his enemies and even putting them behind bars instead of pushing the nation forward.
02:06Harris also pivoted to her plans and economic policies to lift the middle class and help
02:11Americans struggling financially.
02:13Also, she took a shot at Republicans for their push to curtail abortion rights, stating the
02:19government should never be telling women what to do with their bodies, which drew applause
02:24and cheers from the crowd.
02:26Harris climbed onstage decked with blue signs of freedom and then spoke on the podium surrounded
02:32by bulletproof glass with the White House lit from behind at a distance.
02:38Donald Trump intends to use the United States military against American citizens who simply
02:46disagree with him, people he calls, quote, the enemy from within.
02:54America, this is not a candidate for president who is thinking about how to make your life
03:01better.
03:02This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and
03:11out for unchecked power.
03:18At this moment, let's turn to my colleague in our Pine City studios for what's hot and
03:22happening in the Cordilleras.
