00:00The government is focusing on improving the industry in Alimango, in the town of Buguey, in the province of Cagayan.

00:07The details in the national news of Jean Bakira of PIA-Cagayan.

00:13It's not just about entertainment, dancing and eating that is the purpose of a festival.

00:18For the town of Buguey, in the province of Cagayan,

00:21this is a celebration of the prosperity of the ocean,

00:25as well as the recognition to the whole world of its prosperity

00:29in order to get support from the government and the private sector.

00:34In the third year of the Crab and Mangrove Festival,

00:37more than 1,000 kilos of Alimango were prepared for the visitors

00:43which shows the good production and industry of Alimango

00:47which is almost 45.78 metric tons or 45% of the total 70.5% share of the region in the whole country.

00:56It is true that we are the crab capital of North Luzon, Philippines,

01:01documented in the Department of Agriculture,

01:04which says that we have the most products.

01:09For now, it's not just about protection and conservation that the town is focusing on,

01:14but it is also preparing for the international market of Alimango

01:18after their participation in the International Food Exposition in Hong Kong

01:24where Alimango and other seaweeds products of Buguey were selected.

01:30We could already be entering export agreements in the near future

01:35because we came from Hong Kong and many are interested.

01:39And as a symbol of the growing industry of Alimango in the so-called town,

01:43a crab tower was built here

01:46along with the official declaration of Secretary Laurel in Buguey

01:50as the Crab Capital of Northern Luzon.

01:53The DA and BIFAR, DOST, and other agencies support

01:59the development of Buguey

02:01so that the industry of Alimango in Region 2 can prosper.
