A chilly start for most, with fog patches for Northern Ireland, parts of Scotland, northwest England and the West Midlands which may linger into the afternoon in some places. Otherwise, a bright start but cloud will increase across the Midlands, East Anglia and the southeast, with a few showers in the far southeast. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 12/11/24. 00:00Hello, a very good morning to you. Now that we've got a less gloomy high pressure in charge,
00:06it's resulted in frost and fog overnight. So in some places, a chilly start to the day
00:12and temperatures below freezing. Northern Ireland, Central and Southern Scotland, Northern
00:16England and West Midlands likely to see some fog patches in places continuing into the
00:22afternoon. Meanwhile, areas of cloud increasingly arrive from the North Sea to affect East Anglia,
00:27the Midlands and the South East. A few showers accompanying this cloud as well but staying
00:32dry and fine elsewhere with some decent dry and bright spells, especially for Scotland,
00:38parts of West Wales and the South West. Into the evening, we keep a brisk breeze in the
00:43South East as well as areas of cloud and a few showers. We'll also see increasing cloud
00:49for the North and North West of Scotland, a few outbreaks of mostly light rain arriving
00:53here. That will keep things frost and fog free in the South East and the North West
00:58but in between, we do have a slice of clear skies and lighter winds and so it's in these
01:04areas, Northern England, Southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, parts of the Midlands and
01:08Wales where we could see some frost and fog patches once again. They'll clear eventually
01:14and then a bright day for many although Scotland increasingly will see cloud arriving, Northern
01:20Ireland likewise and some outbreaks of light to moderate rain. That front that brings the
01:26cloud weakens as it comes south but we're left with cloudier skies in general on Thursday
01:31and on Friday but by Friday, certainly later on in the day, a cold front begins to sweep
01:37southwards ushering in a change to significantly colder weather for the weekend at the start
01:43of next week. We'll keep you updated on all of that here at the Met Office. Bye bye.
