00:07We're at that point of the year in Tennessee where you're like, I just want to wear a sweater
00:10and then like today I stepped out of the house and I was like, oh, it's soup and it's 80.
00:13Yeah, I know.
00:14And it was so, it was really nice the past few days.
00:17We went camping and it was like, it was just enough chill to feel like you were camping.
00:20You took two little babies camping?
00:21Yeah.
00:22Three actually.
00:23We went with my in-laws and they have one little one.
00:25And both, both my wife and, and my, and her sister have one on the way too.
00:32So we technically, we had three plus two.
00:35Oh my God.
00:36I forgot you guys are having another baby.
00:37Yeah.
00:38It's about to get real.
00:39When does she do?
00:40Um, May 30th.
00:41Oh my gosh.
00:42Are you so excited?
00:43I'm like, I'm elated.
00:44I can't wait.
00:45How are the, like, how are your current babies feeling about this?
00:49Cause is your oldest, does she get it?

00:51She's um, kind of, she's sort of, we talk about it.
00:54I say, you say, we say mama has a baby, uh, on the way and we'll point to her belly and
00:59she's like, no, I have a baby on the way.
01:01So like, she has like, she doesn't totally get it.

01:04Not quite, but um, she's two and a half.

01:08So you're going to have three under three basically.

01:18You also just released a new song.
01:19Was it last week?
01:20Two weeks ago?
01:21Yeah.
01:22A couple of weeks ago called a song called Liberty.
01:23Talk to me about it.
01:24I wrote most of it back, uh, like in 2020, um, not as a part of a project.
01:29It was, you know, a lot of time to sit around the house and do nothing.
01:32So I started picking up my guitar like late at night and writing ideas that I might not
01:36otherwise write if I was working on a project, thinking about putting songs out on the radio.
01:40But um, this song just kept hanging around and uh, the sentiment and the sort of the,
01:47the tone of the song I felt like was relevant now.
01:49And so I thought, let me go record it and get it out.
01:52What about other new music that you've been working on?
01:55That was, that song is a, one of about four or five songs that I have, uh, for, for my
02:00next project, whether that's me putting out songs one at a time or putting them all out
02:04at once.
02:05But, um, so I have, I have some other songs that I'm going to get in first of the year
02:07and record and get out.
02:10I'm still in that, um, phase of, of putting songs out, uh, one song at a time.
02:14So I don't go away for too long.
02:16But um, anyway.
02:17Yeah.
02:18But that's working for you.
02:19And that's great.
02:20Cause I feel like you can do that.
02:22Hopefully, you know, in the next couple of years, I'm going to take a break from touring,
02:24but touring the crowds have been so great and I want to get out there and tour while
02:28my kids are really young and they're able to come with me.
02:32They're not in school yet.
02:33I'm not going to miss too much at home.
02:35And while people are interested in coming to see us, I want to get out there and play
02:37cause I don't want to take that for granted.
02:39So yeah, totally.
02:40Well, the one thing where I wanted to say before we wrap up is I just, the other day
02:43you had posted something, it's been a couple of weeks now about Montvalo turning 10.
02:46I was just like, I can't believe, but you know, what's so cool about listening to that
02:50album, Sam, is that all of those songs still hold up.
02:53Like they're timeless.
02:54Well, thank you for saying that.
02:55That's gotta be wild for you to think about that 10 years, all the things that have happened.
02:57Yeah.
02:58It's wild.
02:59Um, those songs, I mean that, you know, talking about touring and folks still showing up,
03:04I mean, I've put out music since then, obviously, but that, that album is the anchor of my whole
03:09career.
03:10So, um, I'm just, uh, I'm grateful for those songs and that time in my life.
