00:00Your radio on, because, Donny, for the people that think, um, I like hearing a gladiator
00:07come from the point of view, you know, that they experienced.
00:11He's not a gladiator.
00:12He's an NBA basketball player.
00:13No, he's playing, Donny.
00:15He's a gladiator.
00:16They all are.
00:17No, they're not.
00:18No, they're not.
00:19That's what, that's what West Oakland Holloway's saying.
00:21He says Draymond's a tough guy, a false tough guy, that he's not a gladiator.
00:26That's what, that's what my man was saying.
00:29And I'm, I'm saying gladiator from what his job assignment and job duties entail.
00:34And West Oakland Holloway, why I'm giving Dray, like why I'm in this mood is I'm not
00:39grading his comments, Donny, it's just fascinating to hear his perspective.
00:45And for him to say they're breeding a big, a youngster, a rookie to be soft and you're
00:51supposed to do what I've done for Steph and, and, and things like that, I kind of just
00:56marvel at hearing that.
00:57That's all.
00:59I, I think he's, that's where I don't, that's where I really don't need him talking about
01:04Taylor Jenkins, a guy he knows nothing about.
01:07Here's the other thing.
01:08And we got to put, we got to put this in the equation.
01:11Hey, Evan, where's Zach Eady from?
01:16Purdue.
01:17Where did he grow up?
01:19Oh, no, you're going, that's a good question.
01:22Toronto.
01:23Toronto.
01:24Oh, he's soft.
01:25So you think Dray's picking and choosing.
01:27Dude, how many times is this now?
01:29I've said that before.
01:30This guy, you want to talk about, this is the greatest 10 year coincidence of all time
01:35when you talk about who he's gone after, Nurkic, Gobert, Eady, come on, that's, that, and I
01:43hope I'm not.
01:44We got to do it with Tristan Thompson back in the day.
01:46Okay.
01:47They kissed.
01:48Okay.
01:49But, but that's another thing that West Oakland Holloway's talking about, I think.
01:54No, and I just take a look at the guys.
01:56Yeah.
01:57God, stop it.
01:58But we're talking about the meantime right now.
02:00I'm thinking for me, he's been phenomenal this year.
02:05I'm not going to let this incident make me go back to the priors.
02:10West Oakland Holloway and you and some callers, and it's your prerogative.
02:13You guys are opening the file again.
02:16Well, the NBA is going to open the file again.
02:19That's the way they're doing it.
02:22Or at least the way they've started to do it as of a year or two ago, let's go to Marvin
02:27in San Francisco.
02:28Hey Marvin, how you doing?
02:29How you doing guys?
02:30Hey.
02:31Hey.
02:32Um, I got to, uh, I got to reflect on this statement that this guy made about Draymond
02:37a little while back on the program.
02:39Sabonis grabbed Draymond's leg and Draymond, because to get his leg free, posted himself
02:48on, on Sabonis' body and then sprung off.
02:51The referee ran right up to that play and didn't call anything on Sabonis for grabbing
02:56Draymond's leg and then called a flagrant or whatever on Draymond.
03:02It's like when LeBron stepped over Draymond in the finals and they ended up suspending
03:07Draymond when, when, when LeBron got away with stepping over him and a taunting called
03:12it wasn't called.
03:13So I think there's a double standard.
03:15I, he does have a reputation, but how much do you mutate the rules now where one guy
03:21gets to do it, but the other guy, because of his past, doesn't get to do it, uh, and,
03:26and, and gets punished.
03:27They're talking about suspending them for this.
03:29What about holding Steph Curry's uniform?
03:31Like, like Marcus Smart does all the time.
03:33I just don't get this, this double standard.
03:36I don't think Draymond has done anything this year that warrants a suspension.
03:42And if they're doing this, they're, they're kind of adding things up.
03:44I don't like the way the NBA is doing this kind of stuff.
03:47I listen, I, I, I don't think he should be suspended for this.
03:51And he's not going to be suspended for this.
03:53But I do think the NBA is acknowledging Marvin, uh, I'm sorry.
03:57Yeah.
03:58Marvin, that they, they do have a double standard.
04:00They have a double standard, one for players who committed infraction, who haven't had
04:06much of a history.
04:08And then another standard for guys who have a history.
04:12I think the NBA right now is acknowledging that, you know, they're doing the three strikes
04:17and you're out type of thing.
04:19This is interesting.
04:20And thank you, Joe Spadoni, for throwing this in there.
04:22This was during the NCAA tournament last year.
04:25He said it to me.
04:26Go ahead.
04:27Um, this is, this is Draymond Green sent a tweet during the NCAA tournament when Purdue
04:31was playing.
04:33Job well done, 35.
04:35You did your job tonight.
04:36That's a player on the other team.
04:38It was him that made Edie quit with about 19 minutes to go in the second half.
04:44There was a turnover and I saw Edie body language walking back.
04:48He was done.
04:49Now re-watch the game from that point on.
04:52Yeah, so right.
04:53So there's some disdain for Edie.
04:55So how's Memphis creating a culture if he thought Edie was soft last year in college?
05:01And if he thought he was soft in college last year, why'd you go after a guy like that?
05:05Because it was easy.
05:07Just asking questions.
05:08Yeah.
05:09Uh, Suzette in Oakley.
05:10Hey.
05:11What's going on, Suzette?
05:12Hi guys.
05:13Hey.
05:14How you doing?
05:15Doing well.
05:16Hey.
05:17You know, I only call when it's a Draymond issue because, you know, it's not going to
05:21change.
05:22You know, he's a bully, he's passive aggressive, he's major supercilious on any given day.
05:30And you know, after, I can't give him the benefit of the doubt anymore.
05:34And you're right.
05:35I mean, they say it's a double standard, but this is going on for like 10 years now.
05:41You know, and I just want to say, how come he doesn't do that to the brothers?
05:47How come he doesn't do that to Joel Embiid or Anthony Davis?
05:51He does it to other individuals that I'm not going to say because, you know, it's just
05:56not right.
05:57Why doesn't he pick on somebody like that?
06:00Thanks for the call, Suzette.
06:01I'll let that one hang out there.
06:03I don't know the answer to that.
06:05Again, I'm not defending Dray.
06:07I'm a guy along with you and our shows, Donnie, and the station that has noticed a different
06:13Draymond starting with this play and his microphone game about leadership.
06:19So well, wait a minute.
06:20I think we're reacting.
06:21It sounds like something happened.
06:23Something did happen.
06:24He got a flagrant one and he got ejected on Friday for separate incidents.
06:29But on the Draymond scale, that's a single.
06:32Then that is a double standard.
06:34I mean, if the bottom line is everybody's, not everybody, people praising him last week
06:41and what West Oakland Holloway is saying is you guys fell for the banana in the tailpipe.
06:45And OK, maybe this doesn't reach the height of a Gobert choke or a Nurkic punch or slap
06:52or whatever it was, but this is how it all starts.
06:56Hold it on to Eadie's leg.
06:58There's the flagrant one.
07:00Two technical fouls during the game.
07:03That's the ejection.
07:04Had the Warriors lost that game and he got thrown out earlier, this would be a bigger
07:08deal.
07:09But the question is, is this more of just like it sounds to me like you may be.
07:15It sounds to me like most people believe it's just going to be more of the same at Draymond.
07:20And you believe that he's turned a corner.
07:23I do.
07:24OK, I got to be careful here.
07:26I do.
07:27But when Spadoni shared with us that tweet that you just read again, I got to keep it
07:33real like I always do.
07:34Do you think he did that coming into the game already?
07:38Not premeditated.
07:39Knowing he thinks Eadie is soft so he could get away with something like that.
07:44That I have no idea about.
07:46I have no idea.
07:48But are we just are we are we destined to go down the same road again?
07:53Real quick here, because now you got me thinking, Stiney, again, for me, saying this is a single
07:59on the Draymond meter, you do feel like that's a double standard, like like because it's
08:04Draymond, I'm feeling like this flagrant one is nothing.
08:10Because I know what it can be, Evan.
08:11It can be 25 games.
08:12Well, but there are also plays where he gets the benefit of the doubt because of what he
08:16is against the Clippers.
08:17He had a play where he absolutely screamed at the ref for yes, I texted the group chat.
08:22I thought the same thing.
08:23I couldn't believe any other player gets a tech for that.
08:28But they know, they know what?
08:30That he can get away with it.
08:32Look, the refs are not look, for lack of a better word, a lot of refs are afraid of Draymond.
08:37They just are.
08:39And you know what?
08:40Here's the other thing.
08:41Now they know.
08:44Anything they do with Draymond Green is going to get second guessed.
08:48And if you think that that you call something on Draymond and now it's going to be an issue,
08:55what do you do?
08:56You give him the benefit of the doubt rather than get then get into that headache of you.
09:01Well, he shouldn't have been.
09:03He shouldn't have gotten a tee for that.
09:04He know he should have gotten it.
09:06I thought he should have got.
09:07We all texted.
09:08But now you got me thinking, why does it stop just there with the refs?
09:11It can be the league.
09:13It could be the leagues.
09:14What do you mean?
09:15Like the league could be like, oh, we don't even want to dredge this stuff back up, man.
09:19Well, we'll see.
09:20I mean, we'll see.
09:22We'll see.
09:23Because, you know, if Draymond does something, I firmly believe that if Draymond does something
09:29that's deemed serious, he's not just going to get a three game suspension.
09:32Right.
09:33Right.
09:34Right.
09:35He's going to get much more.
09:36He's going to get much more.
09:38LeBron James, if LeBron James does this, does something and Draymond Green does the exact
09:44same thing, Draymond will get suspended for a longer period of time.
09:49We all LeBron James and agree.
09:51And I don't have a problem with that, actually.
09:54Right.
09:55If you're going to take into account the past, they're called, well, that's criminals and
09:58he's not a criminal, but priors.
10:00All right.
10:01Yeah.
10:02Coming up at 11, we got Eddie Johnson.
10:05He's one of the best color man for the Phoenix Suns.
10:08And then we got Ben Goliver of the Washington Post.
10:11On the other side, Steve Kerr had something to say that was a little bit, just a little
10:16bit concerning about DeAndre Melton.
10:20And we can get into that.
10:21But, Gu, it's good to have you back.
10:23I'm glad to be back.
10:24Thanks for ever holding it down.
10:26And I'd be remiss if I didn't bring up, at least in the first hour, you see Dalton Connect.
10:34It's funny.
10:35It's incredible.
10:36What's incredible?
10:37That he fell that low and you told, we'll get into it on the other side.
10:42We still have time for you.
10:43But you said, because he's 20, like, why can't age be something attractive in a lead that
10:48you could play to maybe your 35 or 40?
10:51The Lakers have a talented dude that's tiny just on your metric that was available because
10:58he was too old.
10:59Well, you know what, bud?
11:01You're the same guy that loves Kaminga and you loved Wiseman.
11:05You know what I mean?
