00:00In Mexico, President Claudia Chamberlain denied Trump's statements that she had agreed to close
00:16the borders to stop migration.
00:23The Vice President and Minister of Oil of Venezuela condemned the far-right stabilizing
00:27actions aimed at a country's oil sector.
00:35The summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization began in Kazakhstan's focus
00:40on ensuring the security of all member states.
00:43Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Telesur headquarters
00:54in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:55We'll be with the news, stay with us.
01:11Mexican President Claudia Chamberlain rejected U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's assertion
01:15about Mexico's supposed stance to stop migration by closing the U.S.-Mexico border.
01:20The Mexican president clarified that she does not intend to close the migratory passage
01:24with the United States, but to build bridges between governments to help each other.
01:31The head of state explained that during a phone call conversation with U.S. President-elect's
01:35strategist, a word discussed to address the migration phenomenon through collaboration
01:40on security issues.
01:41She also remarked that a measure is part of a campaign to protect sovereignty and prevent
01:47the entry of fentanyl to the country.
01:56Everyone has their own way of communicating, but I can assure you, I can give you the certainty
02:00that we would never, besides we would be unable, they proposed to us to close the border in
02:06the north of our country and in the south of the United States.
02:09It has never been our proposal, and of course we do not agree with that.
02:15So President Trump has his own way of communicating, but we talked about this strategy on the phone
02:20call, and I told him that this caravan of migrants that you are referring to in your
02:26publication is not going to reach the northern border because Mexico has a strategy.
02:32So that wasn't how the conversation went.
02:35Thank you, and President Miguel Diaz-Canel assured on Wednesday that the country is ready
02:43to face any administration that occupies the White House.
02:47From the municipality of Las Plajas in the province of Cienfuegos, the head of state
02:51shared a group of farmers and neighbors of the area that neither Republicans nor Democrats
02:57have represented change for the island.
03:00In addition to reiterating that they are ready for the administration that will begin in
03:06January, and recognizing their wariness, but also the extraordinary effort of the Cuban
03:13people in the face of the sanctions, he also insisted that Havana remains open to any dialogue
03:20with Washington, but with equality and respect.
03:36Thank you, and President Keefe did not open to the dialogue with Washington, but without
03:45impositions.
03:48And we have always stated that we have nothing against the people of the United States, and
03:53that we are willing to work on equal terms with the government of the United States,
03:56but in equality and confidences, without impositions, with respect, and of course nothing that affects
04:02our sovereignty or our independence, and that is our position.
04:07In Panama, organizations in solidarity with Cuba held a first peace forum at the University
04:12of Panama to condemn the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the United
04:17States against the Cuban people.
04:19During the conference, recognized international education workers' unions and social sectors
04:24made a call to respect the sovereignty and self-determination of the people, while clarifying
04:29that the blockade against Cuba has the most comprehensive and prolonged system of unilateral
04:34courses measured in history.
04:36They also denounced the unjust inclusion of Cuba on a list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
04:42Let's take our very first break, but remember, you can now join us on our Tiktok account
04:51at Celestino English, where you'll be able to see news in different formats and news
04:54updates and more.
04:55Stay tuned for more news.
04:59Welcome back to From the South.
05:17In Venezuela, the Bolivarian Alliance for the People's Affairs, the American People's
05:21Trade Treaty, or TTP, met with a team of antifascist promoters in a framework of the International
05:27Antifascist Forum for a New World.
05:29During the meeting, the executive secretary of the bloc, Jorge Arreaza, recalled the alliance
05:35between Cuba and Venezuela during the organization's inception.
05:39In this sense, Arreaza stated that the objective of President Hugo Chavez was to create a Bolivarian
05:46alternative with the alliance of the peoples of our Americas.
05:50Furthermore, TTP's executive secretary stated that the plan to control the whole America
05:55was a burden with the emergence of the United States as a nation.
06:08Still in Venezuela, the Vice President and Minister of Oil, Delsi Rodriguez, condemned
06:12the actions of the extreme right of the country against this sector in order to gain political
06:17power through destabilizing actions.
06:19During a meeting for the harmonization of academic profiles in hydrocarbons and mining
06:25areas in the country, Rodriguez assured that Venezuela has been safely exploiting its oil
06:31reservoirs for over a century.
06:35In this meeting, the Haida official also condemned the recent criminal attacks perpetrated by
06:40the extreme right wing against the gas sectors and highlighted that this violent incident
06:45was performed by the extreme right wing to gain, at any cost, the access to Venezuela's
06:50political power.
06:56And I would never want, at this time of permanent attacks on our industry which, as I have said,
07:05it has been the main target of the criminal blockade against Venezuela.
07:12I have never wanted to miss the opportunity to highlight the knowledge and expertise of
07:16our workers in this industry.
07:22Very recently, after a criminal attack against the gas distribution center of the country,
07:28the recovery has been possible thanks to 800 workers of PDVSA who from different places

08:06of a campaign initiated by the violent far-right opposition.
08:09In this way, Cabello reports that the opposition is trying to frighten the Venezuelan people
08:15by various means, insinuating more than a visit by Gonzalez a situation of chaos and
08:21violence in the country until January the 10th.
08:24Recently members of the extremist opposition, disrespecting conditions of exile and even
08:29challenging their militants, have made calls to take to the streets to say that this issue
08:34for a support is supposed to take over.
08:43The Venezuelan Supreme Court of Justice began on Wednesday debating on a regulation of social
08:48media in view of the spread of fake news and hate speech.
08:53The starting point of the regulation was a police inquiry into an alleged Threat of Coup
08:58plot in 2022.
09:00The case involved former President Jair Bolsonaro, authorities could determine that criminals
09:05use social media to misinform about the reliability of the electoral system to justify serious
09:11offenses.
09:12In addition, the court will decide whether social media platforms will be sanctioned
09:16for illegal publications or not by 2025.
09:20Correctionally, the entity has examined four cases related to the rules for social media
09:28platforms and their responsibility for content published by users.
