00:00There was actually good news on the other side of Grandy's noise, and it is that Draymond
00:05Green's MRI is clean, and he will still not play tonight, but it sounds like they're expecting
00:13him to be cleared and good to go against Minnesota tomorrow.
00:16And I will say this, and Grandy will back me up on this, when we talked to Steve yesterday
00:21and we asked him about Draymond, and he's just flippantly there, like, turning swordfish
00:26over with a spatula, I'm like, he doesn't sound very concerned about Draymond at all.
00:33And we know Steve, and we know how pro teams handle injuries, and if there is anything
00:37going on, remember what he said to us about Melton right before that news came out?
00:42He was like, oh, yeah, you know, there's some concern there, and I'm not sure exactly, it's
00:47like, oh, actually, he's out for the year.
00:50The way he talked about Draymond yesterday, I'm like, he doesn't sound upset or concerned
00:54about this at all.
00:56And even then, I'm a little surprised that he might play as early as tomorrow, but that's
01:02phenomenal news.
01:03It's great news, yeah.
01:04I mean, in theory, with what they're doing with Steph, sounds like there's a very good
01:07chance that their two top players are back on the court in 27 hours.
01:12Yeah, we'll see about Steph, I mean, with the knee tendonitis, and I'm just looking,
01:17they've got tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday, they have three games and four nights, so
01:22I don't know if you want to rush Steph back for tomorrow?
01:25Well, you missed this one because that way, like, you can create a night off after, you
01:31know, all the four-inch games.
01:32You've got Minnesota back-to-back both here at home, so.
01:34But a day off in between.
01:35Yep, exactly.
01:36So, yeah.
01:37We'll see.
01:38We'll see.
01:39All right.
01:40888-957-9570.
01:41Started the conversation, Dibbs basically said, Warriors are in big trouble, and the fact
01:47that Draymond and Steph need to be managed the way they do, and then the big old fancy
01:53statement that you made, you know, what do you got?
01:55You got Steph, you got Draymond, they're both hurt, and everyone else is a bunch of role
01:59players.
02:00A bunch of role players.
02:01Well, I mean, Charles Barkley said the same thing the other night.
02:04I'm not even—
02:05Yeah, I didn't hear that.
02:06Well, he called them a bunch of jags.
02:07Yeah.
02:08Oh, actually, I did hear that.
02:09Just a guy.
02:10Yeah.
02:11Just a bunch of guys.
02:12Boy, he did to the Warriors what I've been doing to the Kings.
02:15He called them cute.
02:16What?
02:17He patted them on the head.
02:18He said they're fun to watch.
02:19He called them a cute little team.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Wow.
02:23They are little.
02:24They are little for me.
02:25And they are cute.
02:26They're very cute.
02:27No, they're adorbs.
02:28But I also think that there are scenarios, I want to be real clear here, I'm not sitting
02:33here telling you, oh, Warriors are amazeballs, they're the best team in the West.
02:37I just think that we're only 20 games in, and there are a lot of different avenues for
02:40this to go.
02:42Steph and Draymond could stay relatively healthy.
02:44They could make a trade.
02:46They could make the trade at 5 o'clock tonight.
02:48You know, there's a lot of different avenues for this to go.
02:53And you brought up Wiggins.
02:55I know hoping for Andrew to be more aggressive is a lifelong struggle for the entire league.
03:02But boy, I would love to see in the final minutes of games, I'd love to see that aggressiveness
03:08not only there for Andrew, I'd like him to take it from Jonathan.
03:12To me, there are too many looks that Jonathan is hunting for that I'd like Andrew to hunt
03:20for.
03:21He's a better finisher, and most importantly, when he gets fouled, he's going to go make
03:25the free throws.
03:26Yeah, most often.
03:27He's 78%, as opposed to Jonathan, who's at 59 right now.
03:30But that, to me, is the biggest issue with this team, and you see it over the last five
03:34games.
03:35And maybe that's why my opinion has changed so rapidly, is you get late in games, and
03:39if Steph doesn't do hero-esque, then you don't score, and you don't win.
03:44Because Kaminga is going head down to the hoop, and Podge is throwing hook passes to
03:49no one, and fouling three-point shooters, and you don't really have anybody else who
03:54can score the basketball.
03:55Kaminga tries, and at times he does, Podge can't shoot, Wiggins disappears, Draymond's
04:01not a scorer.
04:02But he healed the scorer.
04:03Yeah.
04:04He just cooled off.
04:05Boy, has he cooled off.
04:06Man, has he ever cooled off.
04:08I think that, here's your statement, and here's mine, and they're not that far off.
04:13You say they don't have anybody else who can score.
04:16I say they don't have anybody else who's scoring right now.
04:20They have.
04:21They can.
04:22They all have.
04:23They're in a bad streak.
04:24You've got to go find a good streak.
04:27Yeah.
04:28I don't think it's that easy.
04:29They've had a good streak already.
04:30Yeah.
04:31They had a good streak.
04:32Buddy had a good streak.
04:33Yeah.
04:34Now you look at, I mean, Buddy over the last, and it's been more than just a couple of games
04:37now.
04:38I'm looking at his game log, the last dozen games, man, it's been a struggle for Buddy
04:43Heald over the last 12 games.
04:45He was unbelievably hot early, and then now he's back to being Buddy.
04:50He's averaging 11 a game, shooting 37% from three, 39 from the floor.
04:56This is the Buddy that everyone warned us about.
04:58Well, I don't know about that, because they haven't put that much, like he's not in as
05:04key of a spot as he was, say, in Sacramento.
05:07You know, like his minutes fluctuate, as we know.
05:11Everybody does in this particular group.
05:13In this 12-man rotation.
05:14Andy Inovato.
05:15Let's get out to the callers here.
05:16Andy, what's going on?
05:17What you doing, man?
05:18Hi, guys.
05:19Hey, I want to throw my two cents in about the Warriors, but beyond that, I have a question
05:25that's been killing me, and I wanted to get it in front of you two guys, because honestly,
05:30I believe you two are the smartest guys on this station.
05:34Let's talk the Warriors first, and if you want to take that other question, I would
05:36love it.
05:37So, I like Moody, I like TJD more than Steve does, because he doesn't play them that much.
05:44I'm not crazy about pods, and I think Buddy and all the team would be better served, less
05:51guys playing, more minutes.
05:53You know, Buddy, he fell off a cliff, but you know, the minutes are so sporadic.
06:00The substitution patterns change constantly.
06:03I love Steve Kerr.
06:04I'm not one of those bozos that says, oh, Floyer, the coach, the guy's great.
06:10But he likes all the guys on the team, and he's trying to play them all.
06:13I don't think you can play 11 or 12, and I really think it's hurting, I feel really bad
06:19for Moody.
06:20He's been here four years.
06:22He deserves more of a shot, and I like TJD to get more time.
06:28Now, can we talk about this other question?
06:31It's a little off the thing, but I really need you to help me with it.
06:34What is it?
06:35What is it, Andy?
06:36Okay, it's making me nuts that the Dodgers have $1 billion in deferred salary.
06:44And now, they're going to go out and they're going to sign another couple bonds.
06:48They may even sign Soto.
06:50I think our terrible commissioner, you can't let them do that.
06:56You can't let them have deferred money so they can triple the salaries that everyone
07:02else spends.
07:03It's wrong.
07:04It shouldn't be allowed.
07:05It's a loophole, and the Giants are allowed to do it, Andy.
07:09The Giants can do it.
07:10They can.
07:11They can.
07:12And actually, they are empowered more than most to do something like that.
07:17Because they have the money.
07:18They've got the money.
07:19Oh, my God, they print money over there.
07:20The Mission Rock Project, like, dude, don't ever-
07:22Well, most of their money is busy working for your government.
07:26There's that, too.
07:27Yeah.
07:28Don't ever accept the fact that-
07:29I had to.
07:30No, but there's too much of, like, Giants fans look at the Dodgers and it's like, oh,
07:34this evil empire with all the money.
07:36The Giants are a hell of a lot closer to that than 90% of the league.
07:41So I'm sort of with you in terms of, don't get mad at the Dodgers about this.
07:49But I do think that the league has to figure out a way for this to not let the Dodgers
07:57and the Yankees turn into Alabama and LSU.
08:03You can do that if you want, but just know it's stupid.
08:06It's not good for your sport.
08:09It's interesting you say that because the English Premier League that we all love, you've
08:13got four teams ever that have a chance to win the title.
08:17Right.
08:18And they've already won it once, and it was the biggest miracle in the history of professional
08:21sports.
08:22You mean Leicester?
08:23Exactly.
08:24I just want to talk like a non-soccerist.
08:25Jamie Vardy and Leicester, when they won it, they were like 50 to 1 preseason.
08:30It was the most improbable thing in the history of sports.
08:33You'll always get those once in a while.
08:35But it doesn't happen.
08:36No.
08:37And baseball is much more like that, where you've got two or three or four of your big
08:41spenders and they're always going to be good, and the other 26 of you, yeah, have some crumbs.
08:47I would love to see it change, but they'll never change it.
08:49I don't know how they can, and this has to be collectively bargained, and that's years
08:53down the road.
08:55But yeah, if you are truly thinking to yourself, let's have some competitive balance, you can't
09:01have the richest team in the league constantly taking loans, which is essentially what they're
09:06doing, and interest-free ones at that.
09:11That's a little wild.
09:12That's a little wild.
09:13And so again, it's not wrong.
09:14I don't blame the Dodgers.
09:16If you've got the resources to do it, and this is the way you want to play it, rock
09:20out with your brock out.
09:22Like, go ahead.
09:23Do it.
09:24But if you're baseball, just understand that that's absolutely where you're headed.
09:30And you may say, oh, Alabama and LSU, those are the brands that drive the sport.
09:35Sure, but it disenfranchises large sections of the population.
09:41And I'll say this as a former employee of the Pac-12 network, do you know how many college
09:45football games I've watched this year?
09:48Probably zero.
09:49Like, the only reason it's not zero is because my family does a pool over Thanksgiving break,
09:54and so I watched a bunch last weekend.
09:56I could not give one rip about what any of your college teams do.
10:02It's a silly sport right now.
