00:00But we've got this development. Oh Dan Dibley. It's a developing story
00:04Well, I I don't want grandie to hit the uh thingamabob, but you could do that exactly do that
00:09It's not actually breaking news
00:11But it's breaking
00:12And um, it's worth our time
00:16And it lives on the twitter feed
00:18of D Bo Samuel
00:20D
00:21Bo
00:23What do you make of this?
00:24I'm sure he's going after a long snapper or a holder
00:28What he does that'd be amazing 12 minutes ago d bo samuel wrote
00:34Not struggling at all
00:37Just not getting the ball
00:40followed by
00:43Seven exclamation points
00:45And a shruggy emoji. Ooh the shruggy now, there's a follow-up tweet, but let's go station to station here
00:53um
00:54And first just react to that
00:57Not struggling at all just not getting the ball
01:03I don't think that this is a wonderful thing to tweet at all. No two catches for 22
01:08Well look
01:10You did have three targets. It's impossible to say stuff like that and not have it feel like you are
01:17Either firing at teammates or play callers
01:20This is what wide receivers do and I am quickly becoming somebody who suffers from wide receiverism
01:26I really don't want to I don't think this about all of them
01:29There are plenty of good ones who have heads screwed on straight, but my gosh often it seems few and far between
01:35because they because they are
01:38Complimentary pieces who can't have the ball unless somebody calls them up schemes them up delivers them up
01:44Because they can't do that
01:46I think they are often prone to this kind of behavior, which is even after a win
01:51If their stats because aj brown did this yesterday too the eagles won their ninth straight game he threw a helmet
01:58And then in that locker room
02:00They asked him
02:02What is this team need to do better? He had one word want to know what his word was?
02:09me passing
02:11He didn't say the passing game
02:13He didn't say receiving he didn't he just said passing
02:17And and we know that aj brown has had issues with jalen hurts and that they argue on the sidelines a lot
02:23And I would just say to aj. I don't know if you're right or wrong, but you just won your ninth straight game
02:30Shut up, well brock purdy went 20 for 25 for three and a quarter and two
02:36quarterback rating of 145
02:38He snapped a three-game losing skid and you go to twitter and you talk about not getting the ball enough
02:44And I I watched the game twice as I always do and the first time through I had my eyes on debo
02:50Especially because of prize picks I was on the over
02:54Over on debo catches at four and a half. Ouch
02:57Not even close
02:59But it was one of those that like it was an ottoman game in the other way exactly
03:02So when when you lose a bet sometimes it's like oh this one's this one's dead on arrival
03:07Oh, oh quick aside just because you're talking about betting
03:10I do want to let you know that we did put your pick out there. Does it count?
03:14That's a count. I count it
03:16You're back to 500, but we figured out how to get you back to 500. You have to not be here. Ah, darn it
03:22So maybe i'll go home early again. Yeah. Well, you got to make a pick again tonight. It's monday night
03:28Okay, follow-up tweet and then let's keep reacting
03:31Debo clearly for 10 minutes sees the whoop whoop whoop all the reactions to his tweet
03:37Did he delete or just not delete? Okay, he followed up. I admire that
03:42I'm gonna add a word because he left one out. I know what he means. He left a word out
03:48Just because I voice my opinions
03:51Doesn't mean i'm hating on any of my teammates
03:57be for real
03:58Okay, what word did you add? Uh, the word doesn't okay because he wrote just because I voiced my opinions mean i'm hating on any
04:06Of my teammates. Yeah
04:07Okay
04:08It reads the same. Well, no
04:11If you don't put doesn't in there, it means that he's essentially saying I am hating on my teammates. It's a little bit of slang
04:17Yeah, uh what i'm reading from that is
04:20Uh, he's mad at the laminated play sheet and when I watched the game a second time this morning
04:25Oh, I don't read that way at all
04:26Oh, I do because if you watch the game, he's mad at us if you watch the game again
04:31I'm sure he's mad at us the fans and the media. He's mad at the chatter. Yes, but he's so mad
04:36I think at the fact that they are not designing plays for him
04:40The plays they are designing for him are failed runs and watch his three runs yesterday
04:46and the third of which
04:47was absolutely bottled up immediately and you can kind of see his shoulders dip and his head dip like
04:53What am I even doing here? The only time you give me the ball is when I run right into the defense
04:59It's not working for him. Yeah, I I took this as more
05:02um him
05:04speaking to the speakers
05:06Right, everybody like you hear it. We've been hearing it for four weeks. Debo's done. He's over the hill. He's lost a step
05:12It doesn't work anymore
05:14And and I think that that's what he's speaking to he may well be frustrated about his plays
05:21Execution wise or the number of times his number gets called. I think that makes him a wide receiver in the nfl
05:26So I don't find that concerning at all
05:29Most wide receivers i've ever talked to always think they should be getting the ball more
05:33I wonder how justin jefferson feels about jordan addison absolutely going off all month
05:39I I bet he actually has a feeling or two about it
05:42Um now he went off yesterday too, but you get my point like that's just
05:47Par for the course, but I really I think he's speaking to all the voices who are claiming that debo is
05:53Is starting to be over the hill?
05:55I think that's what's upsetting him the most. I also do think that some of it is the play design
06:01And you might be right rock 30 through 25 passes yesterday
06:05and he had three thrown his way and he caught two and you know, george kiddell was amazing and so
06:11They were scheming up kiddell again and again and again and again
06:15Right. Well first kiddell because they couldn't stop him
06:19So yeah that that makes sense
06:20But then when you go beyond the tight end and you go to jawan first instead of debo
06:26To me that's where and he's not hating on jawan. No eight targets seven catches, but he's also open a lot more
06:33Right, he's open. But why is he open?
06:35I think he's open because the play design is more for jawan and debo is more of the outlet
06:42I think he's I think he's open more because that's what jawan does
06:46Debo is not a traditional wide receiver. We know this right, right?
06:49Like if you're in a zone or if you get caught looking the wrong way because christian mccraffie's running over there debo
06:55Debo can be very very dangerous debo to me is just about the word space. That's it
07:01That's all debo's about and he's very very good in space. He's good with the ball in his hands
07:06He is an aggressive runner. He does not shy away from contact. He's fast
07:11He can take the ball 80 yards for a score. He's got that ability
07:15So the whole game for debo and kaya shanahan is how can we get him the ball in space?
07:20And and this year they've done a bad job of it like too often
07:23He gets the ball and there's no space right and so he doesn't create it on his own though
07:28He doesn't but when you play a team like chicago that plays a lot of zone and this is uh stuff for greg cosel
07:34Tomorrow or wednesday whenever we have greg on just to ask him about what he saw from the film because when I was seeing
07:41Watching it again this morning. A lot of the play designs were for george
07:45And jawan not a lot of plays set up for debo and when you have a bear team
07:50That's not stopping you brock. Didn't have to get to his third read very often not often steel toe san mateo
07:56Hey, thank you for calling y'all. Willard and dibs. What's cooking?
08:01Thanks fellas love the conversation
08:03um
08:04I wanted to get in on it because I I feel like
08:07the
08:08the head coach kyle shanahan is the one that's um
08:12kind of messing up everybody's motivation and not giving them urgency because
08:17of his stale
08:19play-calling
08:20You know everybody's been asking for for for more george kittel and then all of a sudden now he does it for the chicago bears
08:28you know it's
08:30And everybody now here's debo. He's talking
08:32Because this play call sucks already
08:35You need to just just motivate everybody maybe
08:39Make a little debo a little bit happy. How about one goal route one go wrong and just throw it deep for debo
08:45Yeah, it's not good news something different. It's not good at it
08:49He's not I mean like steel toe. I I totally get what you're saying
08:52But like this is how I look at it. I don't know if you look at it this way
08:57But when we're talking about play calling in the nfl, it's very different than the nba
09:02And sometimes I hear people speak about nfl play calling the way that you run plays in the nba in other words in the nba
09:09You can run a play for steph
09:10You can run a pick and roll with cominga and you're like that play is for him
09:15There is some of that in the nfl but less than we think it's not just hey, let's run a play for george
09:22There's a lot of let's run a play
09:25And then there are options within that play
09:28Based on what the defense is doing and that all gets kind of decided at the line of scrimmage
09:33And then you go through progressions and find out what the defense is stopping and what they're not stopping and you develop deliver the ball
09:39Where the defense is not stopping you?
09:42So sometimes that means george and he's a very very good player
09:46But if the defense is going to be hell-bent on taking him away
09:50Then you got to be ready to go to the next guy. You know what I mean?
09:55Right, right, so it the point is what i'm trying to make too is
10:00By throwing it deep sometimes
10:02Maybe the secondary will lay off of debo and maybe deep will be open for more short passes
10:09You throw the bomb to scare the
10:11Secondary, they don't do anything to set him up
10:15It's always just short passes and then they they're just just there like
10:20Ready for the short three-yard pass
10:22It's the same thing
10:24Last night the reason why um, buddy healed went off
10:28Because they finally made another different play for buddy
10:31He'll to do some layups first to get to feel that basket
10:35And then all of a sudden the defense lay off and then he's got more open, uh,
10:39Threes and he got hot
10:42And then it's the coaches that is stale
10:45Play calling and changing it up
10:48Needs to motivates them. That's the play that I think that's what works and then it's finally they're doing it now
10:54And it's almost might be too late for the 49. Yeah, it might be still so thanks very much
10:59I I I don't know how you see it
11:00I see it a little bit differently than that. That sounds a little bit too for just for my taste
11:04It's almost like too targeted as if when you start a play, you know exactly
11:08Who it's going to go to and where I also did not see yesterday as a dink and dunk short pass day
11:15No, there he had 20 completions for 325 yards. That's over 16 yards per completion
11:21Yeah, and he completed his first pass over 20 yards since week eight. Yep
11:24And he had the deep throw to jawan jennings. He had a deep shot to gorendo as well
11:29He took some shots down the field yesterday and the one to pierce all where they weren't quite on the same page
11:34But he was open and they tried
