00:00Alright for the third time this week. What's up? It's late
00:17Friday. It's the third episode we have because we had a
00:19little midweek treat as those of you who listen know with
00:22Tommy Kern and Popeye to talk about what everyone's talking
00:26about but he's a little bit more plugged in than you are
00:29than I am and most people are when it comes to ownership.
00:31Drodd Mayo, former co-host on Quicksilence and Mike Frabel
00:35and all the other coaches who might be involved and
00:37interested in a job that may or may not open. So, if you have
00:40not listened to that episode, I'm gonna start this one by
00:43reminding you to go back and listen to my conversation with
00:46Tom. Very measured, reasonable, people get on Tom because of
00:50that relationship with Drodd thinking he's soft about Mayo.
00:52Well, I will tell you in that conversation, I asked him
00:55point-blank, hey, for a guy that odds are is gonna be back
00:58in 2025, meaning Mayo, are we talking about the possibility
01:02that he might not be back a little bit too much? Tom said
01:06no and I will let him explain why. So, go back and listen to
01:08that episode because I'm only gonna have one episode for you
01:12next week and I tell you this because uh I won't, I don't
01:15want anybody disappointed when we go and disappear for five,
01:17six days and then come back next week. Um that is the
01:20reason why. You got three this week, one next week plus Pat's
01:24schedule is gonna throw us all off kilter here. They're
01:27playing on a Saturday. You got Christmas in the middle of the
01:29next week. I'm coming back from Buffalo on Monday. I will have
01:32a full film breakdown at the Herald but only if the Patriots
01:35win or if this is really, really close, will you get some
01:38film notes in the episode we do next week which will also be a
01:41Pat's Chargers preview and some kinda grab bag stuff. I think if
01:45I can bully him into this, we'll be with Mike Giardi. So,
01:47just a heads up on the front end, some housekeeping. This
01:50episode, we are listening to now, we'll have a Pat Spills
01:53preview just from yours truly on the front end. Then, we have
01:56Antonio Gibson in the weekly 4 Minute Drills. These player
01:59interviews we've been doing. He was awesome, okay? And you've
02:02heard me admit before. Some of these are better than others.
02:05It's just the truth. I don't need to hype everything else up
02:08like it's all the same and it's all great. This one, even if
02:11you don't like, it was one of my favorites but II think this
02:13was really good with Antonio who by the way, playing like
02:16one of the best running backs in the league. If you like
02:19metrics like yards after contact, second in the league
02:21right now. That dude is picking up 4.1 yards per carry after
02:26contact. So, shout out Antonio Gibson. Then, in the back end,
02:29segments with uh Kevin Wallace and Nick Roy, our male fans
02:32this week came together to donate two tickets to Pats Rams
02:35last month and then uh donate money to win those tickets and
02:39go to that game in Kevin's case and they were great. So, I say
02:43this not because I'm telling you, oh, you get the usual good
02:46stuff on the front end. We're a really good conversation with
02:48Nick and Kevin about coaching, about possibilities, the
02:51offseason, what they would do, what I would do. So, stick
02:54around for those and if you wanna be in the show just like
02:56them, Nick, Saint Nick that he is this time of year but also
03:01apparently in general, guys talk to twice is donating his
03:04tickets to Pats Bills in the season finale. So, if you wanna
03:07be on the show, if you wanna go to a game, keep your ears open
03:10next week because we could send you to the Patriots season
03:13finale this year. At least you get to see Josh Al, okay? How
03:15many times you get to see a future NFL MVP in person? Uh
03:19plus, you know, your favorite team. So, you can donate, you
03:22can win those tickets, you can come on the show, we're gonna
03:23have a lot more fans on the show moving forward there at
03:26the back end of this one. So, I think that just about wraps up
03:28the house teaming. Oh, wait, it does not and we will get to
03:30Pats Bills here in a second. Still a fourteen-point spread
03:33by the way. Largest in the Crafts ownership. We're tied
03:37for the largest. Uh as I said on radio this week. Number one
03:40was well actually in 1997, some game nobody cares about.
03:44Number two was Super Bowl thirty-six against the Rams and
03:47number three, the third time, the Patriots have been
03:50fourteen-point underdogs. The largest they've ever been in
03:52the Crafts ownership was the Bills game in Buffalo last year
03:56number four coming Sunday 425 kickoff. Now, the reason I
04:01bring up all of that is to say, obviously, we're not gonna
04:03spend a ton of time breaking down a game that most expect to
04:05be a blowout and frankly, you're gonna hear my game pick
04:07later. I think we'll be bigger than fourteen points but in the
04:10meantime, you know, look, I expected to be a blowout and I
04:16know a lot of you going back to Mayo here for a second. Might
04:20wanna see him can right now. You wanna see him fired. What
04:23I wanna see is him and his football team finish and you
04:27know, I say this as someone who has been as critical if not
04:30more so than basically every other reporter on the beat of
04:33Mayo and it's not because it puts hair in my chest or adds
04:35inches to the you know what? It's just to say that's how I
04:39see it and in Mayo's case though, I wanna see how bought
04:41in the players are. I wanna see if he can adjust. I want to see
04:45what I can learn more about him as a head coach because that's
04:47what the season has been about. For him, it's with the players.
04:51For us in the outside, it's about him, the players, Elliot
04:54Wolfe, this whole new regime, okay? Which obviously it hasn't
04:57gone great through fourteen games but we got three more. So
04:59to me, firing him now, firing him next week, firing him any
05:02time in the next three weeks is not finding a solution. It's
05:06just scratching an itch and I get that itch is driving a lot
05:08of you crazy. It's driving me crazy. If you listen to the
05:11first episode this week as I went back down, his post game
05:14comments in the game plan. It made no sense to me but I think
05:18there's potential to learn more here and I wanna see what it is
05:21especially considering as I've said before, one win makes this
05:24entire conversation about his future. Will it change? Will
05:27they not? It's unlikely but it could happen. Completely move,
05:29okay? And we just have to see what happens. Uh speaking of
05:33dried mayo, super tight lip today in his press conference.
05:37His answers were short and varying degrees of salty. We
05:40make note of that not to throw salt in his past wounds but to
05:43say, this was the smart thing. Well done. That's exactly what
05:48I would have advised him to do. It even said back in the
05:51spring, less is more. So, he's adjusting at least behind the
05:54podium 3 days without a dried mayo blunder behind microphone.
05:58Uh some more news. Christian Marmore Thursday went on the
06:01non-football illness list again. Really unfortunate to
06:04hear that there are recurring symptoms from his blood clots
06:06which which was covered over the summer, kept him out for
06:08most of the season. Obviously, without question, wishing and
06:11sending all of our best to Christian as he continues to
06:13battle this and hopefully he is back to full health as soon as
06:16possible. Football or no football. His placement on that
06:19list though did create an open roster spot for the Patriots
06:22who now have two and it looks like according to Chris Price
06:25of Boston Globe, Terrell Jennings who if you remember
06:28who Terrell Jennings is, god bless him. He's an undrafted
06:31rookie running back who played uh in practice this summer and
06:35they got cut cuz he wasn't very good. He's back. Looks like
06:38he'll be added to that room because to Michael Hasty is one
06:41of two players who's out for Sunday and the other player is
06:44Marcus Jones. Those guys obviously also factor in as
06:47kick returners but the Patriots are feeling that's one of their
06:49spots with Jennings. The other I would expect whether it's this
06:52weekend or later to be Caden Wallace. So, last night on
06:55Sunday and then we'll get into the game uh forecast. Yeah,
06:58not great. Light snow. It'll be great if you're at home.
07:01They're hot cocoa or uh this new drink many around my
07:04neighborhood are calling Bailey's Peanut Butter Cup.
07:06It's hot cocoa. A little bit of chocolate Bailey's and
07:10screwball whiskey. Little peanut butter in there for you.
07:12Hot tip for the holidays. Anyway, high of seventeen. Real
07:16feel of ten degrees. Light snow, temps dipping closer to
07:20twelve. So, this is gonna be frigid. Uh and the bills out in
07:23Buffalo today with their final injury report. Didn't rule
07:25anybody out but Matt Milano, Taylor Rapp, Tamar Hamlin,
07:28members of Douglas, all meaningful players on that
07:33defense are all gonna be questionable. So, that's it.
07:36Alright, let's get to Pat Spill's preview. Then, we will
07:38get to Antonio Gibson. Male fans will get out of here.
07:40Three matchups, two keys, one wild card thought. Number one
07:43matchup. You gotta look for on Sunday. If the Patriots are
07:45gonna pull this upset again against the likely NFL MVP, a
07:48team that has beaten the tar out of them. Seven and two over
07:51the last four years. You know, we don't have to talk about
07:53anymore. They have to pick on Rizul Douglas and it's not
07:55because if he suits up but you might not. He's hurt. It's
07:59because he is one of the worst corners in the league man to
08:02man coverage. And the Bills over the last couple of years
08:06facing a receiving court, they go, eh. Just like a lot of
08:10teams facing the Patriots nowadays go, eh. Probably gonna
08:14play some man to man and when they do, even if it's not
08:17overwhelming matchup because the Patriots offense just
08:19doesn't have any of those to present, need to pick on
08:22Douglas. So, if it's Kendrick Bourne or Keishon Booty or
08:25insert Patriots receiver here, they need a big game and
08:29especially when they're across from Douglas. Matchup number
08:32two. Vennaria Lowe, Demontra Jacobs, stop me if you've heard
08:35this before. Really struggling pass protection. They can't and
08:40Buffalo. But they might. Gregory Russo, AJ Epinesa, two
08:44starting defensive ends for Buffalo. Combined twelve and a
08:46half sacks. Four forced fumbles. Thirty-two quarterback
08:51hits, okay? Those numbers a little bit inflated because the
08:54Bills play from ahead so often so they just get to pin their
08:56ears back. Go rush the Bills like to rotate their defensive
08:59line and Oliver's still a problem in the middle but he's
09:01only got two sacks. The Patriots a little stronger in
09:04the middle. Um actually depending on the week but the
09:06point is the Bills best players on defense are right there on
09:10the edges. They need answers for them. Not only low in
09:13Jacobs but chipping, double teaming, maybe going a little
09:17up tempo, no huddle, wear them out, work certainly late in
09:21Arizona, didn't it? Okay, a lot of avenues, a lot of options
09:23here to wear on those guys and help to your weakest links on
09:27offense. Patriots needs to do that and win those matchups if
09:29they want to win on Sunday. Number three, and this is
09:32tough because you talk about blowouts or landslides.
09:35Demarcus Covington versus Joe Brady and let's be clear, never
09:41has been, never will be personal to any coach or player
09:43in this podcast but Demarcus Covington has been the biggest
09:46disappointment of the Patriots, okay? And Joe Brady, I I don't
09:50think they give out this award. Maybe we do with the PFWA Pro
09:53Football Writers Association. If there's an assistant of the
09:56year, uh it should go to him. Those offenses scored 30 points
10:01in eight straight games. That's every single game since
10:05basically Columbus Day, alright? So, Joe Brady has
10:09unlocked a super multiple run game. He's coaching obviously
10:12Josh Allen to an MVP award barring an injury or something
10:14crazy going on. He's got a number one receiver Khalil
10:17Shakir who's like a good player but not a number one option.
10:21Shakir's got 71 catches, almost 800 yards. Oh, and the next two
10:25leading pass catchers for the Bills are tight end Dalton
10:27Kincaid and a running back in James Cook and the whole
10:30operation is cooking because of how balanced they are, how good
10:34Allen's been, and how Brady is weakly providing edges for his
10:38quarterback and everyone else around him. So, no Stefan Diggs,
10:41no problem. Demarcus Covington needs to unsettle Joe Brady a
10:45little bit. This could be with different pressures on third
10:47down. It could be by completely going against their identity or
10:51whatever their identity is. It's a thirtieth ranked defense by
10:53EPA and DBOA right now. But the point is this, Covington needs
10:57to at least get that to a draw because the Bills get to 30
11:01points on Sunday, a place the Patriots have never been and
11:05honestly not even really close to this season. Say for that
11:08one game where they got to twenty-five against the Jets,
11:10this one's over. Covington needs to win early, set the
11:13terms of engagement, whether again, that's through blitzes
11:16or simulated pressures, whatever it might be, make Joe Brady
11:19uneasy, make Josh Allen uneasy. He's gotta have a good game
11:22plan. This doesn't matter and you might just go, okay, well,
11:25hit the loss. You might be right. Two keys. Number one,
11:27kill the clock. Tried and true strategy is an underdog. Long
11:31possessions. Limit the possessions for the Bills. This
11:34is nothing to do. I mean, it's an obvious point. Like, you
11:37keep them off the field. That's good. It also makes luck. Just
11:41dumb luck. Bounces of the football, the wind blowing. Play
11:44a bigger role in something harder to overcome if you get a
11:47bad bounce of the ball if you're Buffalo and the Patriots
11:50trying to make this as messy and as lucky of a game as
11:53possible because the more positions the Bills get, the
11:56more likely it is they'll prove what we know. They're a better
12:00football team. So, don't give them as many chances to do that.
12:03It's the same as playing pickup in your backyard or in your
12:07driveway. Two, three points versus thirty when you're the
12:11person you're playing is much better at basketball than you.
12:13You can get lucky and win if you go to three. Uh you're
12:16gonna lose every single time if you go to thirty. Try to keep
12:19them closer to, you know, not gonna be three possessions but
12:22six or seven versus twelve or thirteen. Number two, red zone
12:26defense. Um Patriots again, struggle here. This might be a
12:29big ask. Probably is. But they need to keep an eye on Josh
12:32Allen especially in critical situations when he's more
12:35likely than not to take it into his own hands. It's told to me
12:38by defenders I talked to in the locker room today. You can also
12:41see with your own eyes. So, when they get down there, field
12:44goals, not touchdowns. Number one, wildcard thought. Um look,
12:48I I already said it actually. This is for all intents and
12:51purposes, a nationally televised game. If you look at
12:55the the TV maps and not many people tweet these out anymore.
12:58I think Jagraff sent this out earlier in the week. Uh and our
13:00pal Mike Butnansky put this in his Friday four pack. It's
13:06basically C to C on this. When you look at the map and who's
13:10gonna be watching what games. The color in these maps, I
13:13don't know who distributes them. Is it blue from the east
13:16to west coast? Which means that color blue stands for
13:18Bill's Pats. That's the big game in the 425 window. I'm
13:22very curious because we know the crafts are aware of this.
13:25Got their bunny ears. They read a lot and they watch a lot. If
13:29they give this game a little extra weight because of that
13:32extra audience and the national potential for embarrassment
13:35that comes with a blowout loss to which I would say, well,
13:38what do you expect? The the Bills are boat racing,
13:41everybody. If you lose by seventeen, you're just like
13:44everybody else. Not to mention past Patriots defenses and
13:48teams even under Belichick who again were two and seven for
13:51the last four years. In the Bills by the way, average 30
13:53points per game in the previous three seasons leading up to
13:57last year. So, this is nothing new but those eyeballs are
14:01meaningful. They're meaningful to the people who have the most
14:03power. Will that translate? Will it mean something? You
14:06probably won't know for another week or two. The more and more
14:08of these little reports come out with less and less
14:10confidence about Mayo. This, I wanna call it a tipping point.
14:13I think the Charger game is still more important than this
14:15one for the future of the Patriots but something to keep
14:16in the back of your mind. Alright, something else to keep
14:18in the back of your mind. I've been telling you and if you
14:21haven't put this to good use, look, that's on you. That's not
14:23me anymore. Game time has the lowest price guarantee for
14:27tickets whether you wanna go to concerts, you wanna go to
14:29games, you wanna go to shows, it's not too late right now to
14:32get the lowest price guarantee to any of those either for
14:35yourself or for a great holiday gift. If you go to game time
14:38right now, I have done this for a holiday gift. I'll tell you
14:41right now. I did this 2 months ago. Going to London, taking my
14:44wife, taking a friend. I will do this. Probably go to a Celtics
14:47game or Bruins game when the offseason comes and you should
14:50too because in addition to the lowest price guarantee for
14:53wherever you wanna go and whomever you wanna see, you get
14:55your seat views, okay? I know in Gillette, the 200 level,
15:01honestly, kind of a sweet spot. Not because it's, you know, a
15:04little bit closer to the field in the 300 seats but it's a
15:06better value and when you're up that high, you get to see the
15:09whole field but you're not so far removed that everyone looks
15:12like a little ant down there and you can tell this on game
15:14time because they give you that seat view app and when you're
15:17in game time, you might as well use game time picks because
15:19game time picks says, alright, you don't wanna see all the
15:22deals that are way up in the 300s and costs about 300. We'll
15:24give you the best deals right up front, okay? Cut through all
15:27the BS, cut through all the fluff. Here are our best deals.
15:30Here's the all-in pricing in the seat view. You can only find
15:33all of these features in one place. What is it? You guessed
15:35it. Game time. So, don't waste any more time. Download the
15:38game time app today. Create an account. Here's the best part.
15:41If you use code CLNS, you get $20 off your first purchase.
15:44Terms do apply. Again, create an account. Redeem code CLNS
15:48for $20 off your first purchase for concert tickets, games,
15:52shows, whatever it might be. Download game time today. What
15:56time is it? Game time. Alright, coming up now, Antonio Gibson,
16:01male fans, coaches talk, lots to learn, and then pass bills, of
16:04course, on Sunday. I will see you in about a week. Alright,
16:07here with Antonio Gibson, another four-minute drill. We
16:09just gave him the lowdown, run some clock, ask some questions,
16:11go back and forth. You ready? I'm good. Alright. A little
16:15sleepy today. Uh we're not starting the clock yet. You're
16:17you doing alright? I am tired today. Okay. I will admit
16:20defeat today. We haven't even gone to practice and the man's
16:23already defeated. But I'm here though. I'm here. I'm here.
16:26Okay, bonus content in the four-minute drill. Ready, set,
16:28start. Okay. Uh what do they not tell you about playing in New
16:32England that you've only come to learn over the last couple of
16:34months? Um I don't know. I guess that's something they
16:39told me but I haven't experienced I guess the
16:41weather but I haven't. It hasn't been that bad this year
16:43so I guess that's something but they told me that but it hasn't
16:46been that bad here. Yeah. We were just talking about games
16:48in Buffalo. Look at eighteen degrees, some wind. I didn't
16:51mean to scare you but I told you Gerard's rookie year, the
16:53field goal posts were going sideways. Did I make that worse
16:55or are you already scared enough of the weather coming
16:58Sunday? I was about to say Coach Springer kind of hit me
17:00with the eight degrees yesterday and I was like you
17:02could've kept that to yourself. Keeping it real. Still looking
17:06defeated. Alright, uh give us the biggest badass in the
17:08locker room. The biggest badass?
17:14If I had to say somebody, I just say be more. Um just the
17:17way he walk around. I thought bro was just, you know,
17:20playing around but he really walk around like that. So, I go
17:22with be more. True story. You'll have multiple people in
17:25the locker room. First time they met, be more. Fought him. Uh
17:28ask fought. Ask Anthony Jennings back in Alabama. Uh
17:30moving on. Guys love to say, I want this guy at my back in
17:33the trenches. Chips are down, right? If you're going out,
17:36something goes down, I want him at my back. Who's the last
17:39person on that list? You want at your back in the trenches
17:42in a moment where you need somebody. I'm not answering
17:44that question. Does this make it easier? A lot of the guys
17:48have said a receiver or multiple receivers whether
17:50they're small or they might be bailing. We're playing. We're
17:53playing a little bit but there's some truth. I go with
17:55the specialist there. If we're going smallest on the team.
17:58Specialist. Alright. Uh Drake May. If you can explain him in
18:02a moment. What was that moment? A moment. I would say I think
18:11against Tennessee. He broke for a run. Um and not even a
18:15touchdown pass but I think he broke for a run like a 1012
18:18yard run. A linebacker was in front of him. Lowered his
18:20shoulder. Got up. You know, pump the crowd up, pump the
18:23team up. Nice. What were you doing in that moment? I was on
18:27sideline watching. Yeah. Did you say anything? No, I was
18:29hyped. Okay. Very good. Uh hardest part of learning in NFL
18:32offense is what? Um I would say the language. Yeah. Just the
18:38language. Uh not much to that. Just uh it's all pretty much
18:42similar but different verbal use and and things like that.
18:44So, probably the language. Yeah, cuz you've been in a few
18:46offenses back in Washington and obviously a new one this year.
18:49Can you spit out a long play call? No secrets given away
18:53here but just something nothing? Nah, you just
18:55quarterback. Like, that's one thing I never understand how
18:58they get them long play calls out. But they're in your
19:01playbook too, aren't they? Yeah, but I listen to what I
19:03gotta know and what I need to know and that's it. I can't.
19:05You try to focus on all that and then, nah, that ain't. I
19:09listen to what I got and then I cut my ears off. Man, this is
19:11a former receiver talking too. Alright, have you ever cried
19:14during a movie? No. Not at all. The closest you've ever gotten
19:19emotional. TV, movie, something you're watching. Movie, if I
19:22could think about one, maybe the notebook. Okay. Maybe,
19:25maybe the notebook. Yeah, that probably almost got me. Now,
19:29be honest, were you watching that with your girl or is this
19:32on your own? How'd you come to watch the notebook? Uh I think
19:34it was on my own. I actually like, I like the notebook. Yeah,
19:37I like the notebook. What do you like about it? We're gonna
19:39stay here for the rest of the interview. Um just I guess the
19:43the situation, you know, the how they fell in love, you know,
19:47then they went their separate ways, ended up rekindling. It
19:51was a kind of like a love-hate relationship but ended up
19:54working out. See, he gave us more on the notebook than a
19:57single NFL play call like that's this is Antonio Gibson.
20:00How many times have you watched the notebook? Uh I've probably
20:03seen about six times in my life. When was the last time you
20:06watched it and why? It's been a minute. Probably a couple of
20:08years for me. Okay, now he's getting distant. Um but were
20:11you, were you sad when you watched it? Were you just
20:13looking to kill time? I'm not sad no more. Probably the first
20:16time when I watched it, I probably, that was probably the
20:17saddest but after that, I've been alright. Was it a tough
20:21breakup? It's a breakup. Uh not really. I feel like, you
20:25know, they moved on in life and then they they rekindled it.
20:28No, I mean, for you, like why you why you were sad? Well, I
20:30was sad. Yeah. Breakup. No, it's just a good move. Just
20:33sad? Good move. Okay. Alright. For sure. Well, we just ran out
20:37of time so that we literally killed the rest of the interview
20:39with the notebook. I'll end with this one though. Same
20:41question we ask everybody. What's your least favorite
20:43question from the media? My least favorite question of the
20:46media. Uh for me, I haven't got it here but I would say my my
20:52second season uh when I had like I was going through that
20:55fumbling phase and it was just like, oh, what are you gonna do
20:58about it? I'm like, it's it's nothing like I know what I need
21:02to do is is just hold on to the ball but you know, they punch
21:05at it perfect sometimes and they get it out. So, it's just
21:07like but they just started with some amazing answer. I was
21:10about to give him like, oh, I'm just gonna take my arm across
21:13my body or something like that. That was probably the most
21:14hated question I I had in the media. Okay. His second year
21:19was also a few years ago. Might have synced up with the last
21:21time that he watched the notebook. That would have been
21:22a reason to be said. Either way, love learning more about
21:24you. Thanks for hanging out, man. Antonio Gibson, everybody
21:26in the four-minute drill. Okay, it's been a long Patriots
21:28season. We all know that but I am telling you, regardless of
21:31how the Patriots do in their last couple of games, we've
21:34saved the best for last. Thanks to Prize Picks, America's

23:14in the making and long overdue which means I should probably
23:18give our next guest Nick Roy who donated the two tickets
23:20bought by Kevin Wallace, our next guest who ultimately
23:23donated $1100 with his father to the Leukemia and Lymphoma
23:28Society. People doing good work for kids who need it, men and
23:31women who need it and it all starts with you, Nick, who we
23:34just recapped off air. We're on the show last year as one of
23:38our male fans and not just because you also donated
23:41graciously, not just tickets but your own money. You went to
23:44the six nothing Patriots Chargers game a year ago and
23:47flew up from your native Richmond to go see that and
23:51just before me, you almost left at halftime and despite the
23:54travels might have been the best decision. So, thank you
23:55for coming back and the Patriots should be the next one to
23:58thank you just for still being a fan after that experience.
24:01Well, you helped convince me to hold on to the season
24:03tickets. So, they should thank you too but yeah, no, big, big
24:07thank you to Kevin and his father for for for buying those
24:10tickets. Uh my pleasure to donate. I mean, amazing work
24:14you guys are doing, you know, promoting this charity and and
24:17uh all the great work you guys do to keep us connected to the
24:19team. So, very much appreciate that. I got it. Alright, let's
24:23get to some football. Uh I have no idea where you wanna take
24:26this but the the floor is yours, my friend. Okay. So, I
24:31I wanna talk about football but I also wanna talk, you know,
24:33I've I mentioned the amazing work you guys do to keep us
24:36connected to the team. So, I I've got a I've got a call to
24:39action for for Patriots fans out there. You know, it's the
24:43holidays are coming up. Our team is not very competitive.
24:46Um you know, you can buy the jersey or the sweatshirt or
24:51maybe you're a glutton for punishment like me and you wanna
24:52buy the season tickets but there's also another way you
24:55can spend your money to to sorta stay connected to this
24:58team and that is subscribing to all the great journalism
25:02that's done covering this team. Whether it's the Boston
25:04Herald, Mike Andrew, the Boston Globe, Boston Sports Journal,
25:09whatever the case may be, right? It's it's it's this team
25:14following this team has changed a lot over the last couple
25:17years as we all know, right? And when they were super
25:19competitive and there was a big appetite for news and
25:22information about the Patriots, there was a number of things
25:25out there that you could go and and I think as the team has
25:29gotten less competitive and the sort of media marketplace
25:32around the team is sort of shrunk a little bit. I think
25:35it's it's sort of changed the complexion of of of the
25:38information that's out there and you know, I'm a strange
25:41person. I subscribe to like seven different newspapers and
25:44and and I read this stuff all the time but I think if we're
25:48not willing to pay for good information about our team,
25:50we're not gonna get it, right? The aggregators are out there
25:53aggregating stuff but if people aren't paying for journalism,
25:56what are they gonna be aggregating, right? All we're
25:58gonna know about our team is what they want us to know. So,
26:01it's a long way of saying I appreciate the work you guys do
26:05and you know, following this team when they were as good as
26:07they were, you guys helped us stay connected to it and it's
26:12just, it's so amazing and so, I just really appreciate the work
26:15you guys do. I love following these shows, listening to them,
26:18reading the the great work you and Doug do for the Herald and
26:21and all the other reporters do at all the other outlets but
26:24pay for journalism guys. It's it's worth doing. If you wanna
26:28buy a gift for the Patriots fan of your life, buy them a
26:30subscription to something instead of a shirt and and let
26:33them learn something about their team and yeah, that's my
26:36that's my spiel. Okay, Nick, very kind words and I would
26:41have stopped you earlier in the same way that I stopped Ted
26:43Johnson a few weeks ago when he was highly complimentary of my
26:46work and being on this podcast. I said, I just can't take it.
26:49There's a quota. I will not accept any of the compliments
26:51but again, you donated tickets. It resulted in $1100 going to
26:54people with cancer. That's a very good thing. The problem is
26:57Nick with your pitches, you sound like a plant. I sound
27:00like I've hired you off air to come on and say things about
27:04newspapers with some people listening or watching to this
27:07have no idea what that is because the idea of news being
27:10dropped in paper form at the end of your driveway and that's
27:13how we consume and learn things for decades is just so foreign
27:17and nonsensical to anyone below the age of twenty-two. What
27:20you're saying makes no sense. That said, in all seriousness,
27:24I I am grateful you said that it is something Doug and I
27:27actually talked about in the office today which is why I was
27:30late Christian Barmore today as they discussed already in the
27:32intro put it in non football illness list and we won't see
27:34him again. Oh man. I'm just hearing that now. Yeah. Yeah.
27:38He's recurring symptoms. Yeah. It's it's it's really really
27:43difficult but to your point like look reporting that we do
27:46just take time. It takes money. It takes resources. So, people
27:48are inclined even if they're probably getting this for free
27:51now on YouTube. I appreciate you saying that. Okay. Alright.
27:54Seriously though, this time, my my favorite plant, Nick Roy,
27:57hired for free to say that. Yeah. What what about the team
28:01interests you? Like II do think, you know, putting my
28:04fan hat on if you were a lot of Robert Kraft. Drake made good.
28:08Christian Gonzalez. Great. Rest of the team bad. Fairly bland,
28:12consistent storylines. What what underneath that? It kinda
28:15has your attention. Yeah. I you talked about it on your
28:20podcast earlier this week but you know, I've I've been
28:24closely following the the struggles of the head coach.
28:27Uh you know, specifically at the podium which I, you know,
28:30he knows more about football than he's forgotten more about
28:33football than I'll ever know. So, I'll give him that. I am
28:35like a comms guy. So, I do know a little bit about
28:38communications and if I could give him a little bit of
28:41advice. Please do. It would be to say less. Say less. Talk
28:45less when you're up there. I think, you know, I think he had
28:49a good motivation for wanting to turn the page on maybe media
28:54relations. I think he made that a real tent pole and when
28:57he came out the door and I think it I think it's has not
29:02served him well. It's the same advice I would have given him
29:04given him when he worked in media which is to let it
29:07breathe. Say a little bit less. Come to the podium with a
29:10couple of bullet points and make your point and and move
29:14on. I it it you said it earlier this week but it's it would
29:17have been impossible for me to imagine him not having this job
29:21next year a few weeks ago. I don't feel that way anymore and
29:25I think it's just a byproduct of some some very easily
29:30fixable mistakes that he's made and you shouldn't be putting
29:33your foot in your mouth every week. It's just not a it's not
29:36a good look for him and it's it's you know, Belichick used
29:40to say, never make the same mistake twice, right? Or he
29:42liked guys that didn't make the same mistake twice. Too many.
29:45It's different versions of the same mistake basically of just
29:48saying too much. Say less. Coach, Coach Mayo. If you want
29:52to hang on to your job. That said, like I I think that I was
29:58talking to my dad about this earlier. I think that he's
30:02doing something right because it'd be very easy for players
30:07in that locker room to start saying things subtly or not so
30:10subtly that would demonstrate that that maybe he's not up to
30:13the job and I haven't seen that yet. You're you're more plugged
30:16in than I am but like it seems like the guys still like him.
30:19It seems like they're getting something out of it and you
30:22know, it's it's it's already been demonstrated by player
30:26comments and by Mayo's comments that the same, you know, regime
30:30for handling the media. It's different. So, if players
30:32wanted to say stuff, they could. I think that says
30:35something and and like he's a rookie. He said it many times
30:39now that he's still learning but anyway, that would be my
30:41advice to him. Say less. Yeah, it's interesting too because
30:45this question isn't fair to you as you just said as a comms
30:48guy, something I'm just learning now. We're also
30:50learning that his most consistent and sometimes
30:54cardinal sin that we can identify publicly fans media is
30:59his errors at the podium which in the grand scheme of things,
31:03nobody cares about if you're winning and the evidence is the
31:0720-year run that we had with Bill Belichick who is the worst
31:11podium coach for the purposes of disseminating information
31:15being entertaining though depending on your definition of
31:17entertaining worst in the league at that. It didn't
31:20matter. It became comedy because the winning is the ultimate
31:23deodorant. It's the ultimate perfume and everything else and
31:26that's why we're here. The football going on and even if
31:28you look at the record and be like three and eleven has me
31:30just as mad as what you said it. I didn't. You're not as
31:34mad if they're five and nine instead. Certainly not six and
31:37eight. So, I'm curious if you could assess yourself to get
31:41back to the unfair question separating your profession for
31:43a second. Do you think you care as much about that or is it
31:47just like Manny being Manny, Gerrard being Gerrard if they
31:51have a couple more wins, you're like, well, that was stupid but
31:54hey, they're rebuilding. 100%. I that those missteps if you
31:59wanna call them that would not phase me. Very much. It would
32:05not phase me. I think if we saw improvement in some other area
32:09besides quarterback play which I think comes down to a player
32:12and not a scheme thing or a coaching thing, right? That's
32:14we're I think we're fortunate that we've got a quarterback
32:17who really looks like he can play and I'm excited about that
32:21but I think if they were playing well on the field, it
32:26would not be a big deal. I completely agree with that
32:28assessment and I think the fact that they're not playing well
32:31on the field means that he really needs to button up that
32:34aspect of the job. It's even more important than it would be
32:38otherwise. It's just to say a little bit less to to to get
32:43get through those media engagements unscathed. That's
32:47part of his job over the next next four weeks and we'll see
32:50if he can do it and if he can't, you know, I I think it
32:54is a it's a part of the job that when you're winning, it
32:57can be small but when you're losing, it becomes magnified
33:00and and and he's really gonna, he's he's gonna just like the
33:04team, he's gonna show some improvement in that area over
33:06the next 3 weeks and if he doesn't, I, you know, I think
33:09the craps would be justified in making another decision. We'll
33:13see. We'll see what happens. It'll be interesting. Yeah,
33:16that's that's well put into your point about the players,
33:18your conversation with your dad about players not speaking at a
33:21turn and you get, let's be kind, immature receivers,
33:25Keishon Booty, twice in 2 months being like, we should be
33:28more aggressive. We should have attacked more like aside from
33:31that usual stuff, players are staying together and Antonio
33:34Gibson, you don't have to take Nick's word for it. You don't
33:36have to take my word for it. You certainly don't have to
33:38take droughts word for it. They are largely sticking together.
33:40Antonio Gibson used the word good camaraderie today. I'm
33:43speaking to reporters. Might have been Wednesday. Either
33:45way, that's there even if it doesn't feel like it or
33:49certainly doesn't look on it like it on Sundays. Okay, last
33:51real quick, you get a game pick, you get a prediction,
33:54anything into the season. It could be Sunday. It could be
33:56beyond just really quick before we get you out of here. I think
34:00they get one more win. I really do. I don't know where but I
34:02think they get one more win. I think they had a nice bounce
34:06back win after the soft comments which like again, that
34:11was a real big media situation where even the national media
34:14was talking about the Patriots which is remarkable given how
34:19rough it's been the last couple years but they were able to
34:23bounce back from that in a way and I think they should get one
34:28more win. I think they will get one more win. So, that's my
34:31bold prediction. I'm hoping it's at the next Chargers game
34:35which I'll also be at. Oh, okay. Taking my son and we'll
34:41see. If not, we may be having the same conversation in March
34:44about whether I renew. I was gonna say. Well, okay but at
34:48least we know you're renewing to the show and that's really
34:50what matters. That's right. That's right. Down in Richmond
34:54came up to see an icy six nothing Chargers game last year.
34:58God bless you, Nick. You think you are gonna get something
35:00different this year in a way that no one with the Chargers
35:02team that'll be well rested playing tonight as we speak
35:04Thursday night is gonna have an extra 4 days on the Patriots
35:07uh to come into Foxborough Saturday 1 PM December 28th. I
35:10hope you enjoy the game with your son. It's an awesome
35:13experience. I hope you have a great happy holidays and thanks
35:15again for donating the tickets that kinda made all this
35:17possible. Appreciate it, man. Thanks for having me. Okay, so
35:20after our first guest was a uh a plant. Uh Kevin Wallace is
35:24certainly not a plant and I I have to put you uh on just
35:28alert. We will not accept any more compliments on this
35:30podcast. We will not accept any more positive commentary about
35:33my commentary. We will accept criticisms or Patriots talk
35:36only. Can you abide by the rules unfortunately set by your
35:39predecessor uh preceding guest here? That works. Works for me.
35:45Okay. Uh so what you got? What do you wanna talk about today
35:47and thank you again as we you know honor the the money you
35:49and your father donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
35:52Go into the game $1100 like that's I have a podcast. Okay?
35:56Someone donated the ticket. Someone spent the money. I did
35:59neither of those things and I I wanna you know all joking
36:01aside, express my gratitude as I did to Nick to you too to make
36:05that possible. Um so first of all, thank you and if there's
36:08anything you wanna say about that before we do get to the
36:09football floor is yours. Sure. No, happy to help Leukemia and
36:12Lymphoma Society. It's a fantastic organization uh and
36:15uh today is actually my mom's birthday. She passed almost 10
36:19years ago uh from leukemia uh and it really helped us when
36:22she was going through treatment, helped us after her
36:24after her passing. So, it's really a great cause and happy
36:27to happy to help my dad and I doing it every year. So, we're
36:29happy to do so again this year. Uh but in terms of Pat's talk,
36:32I mean, there's obviously a lot going on right now. Uh
36:35especially with today's today's Baltimore news but I think
36:37practically kinda wanna look forward and and think about
36:41what's next for this team next year. Not necessarily draft
36:43picks or who we're gonna sign a free agency but realistically
36:47Mayo and the crafts is down at the end of this year. What does
36:50that conversation look like? What are the action items, the
36:52action plan that Mayo has to put in front of the crafts to
36:55convince them to keep his job or at least make them feel
36:57better going to the next season and then maybe if we have some
37:00time, what are those conversations look like between
37:02Mayo and the coordinators assuming they stay? Yeah, it's
37:05a great question. Um I I would say this number one before you
37:08even get to that conversation, the best thing he could put in
37:11front of them literally on the field while they're up high in
37:14the owner's box. We know sometimes taking notes,
37:16sometimes shaking their head is just a win and however
37:19unlikely that is especially this Sunday at Buffalo as we
37:21know the game afterward against the Chargers maybe
37:23maybe if the Bills uh lay down their swords in week 18 like
37:27you match Bill's record from a year ago just going head coach
37:29to head coach. You say, hey, we we finished on somewhat of a
37:32high note. One of those last two games. There you go. Can't
37:35fire me. That's number one. Number two would be everything
37:38he supposedly studied or thought about over the bi-week
37:40and I think by then, you kinda know the hay's in the barn like
37:4275% of the season was over and you say, these are our
37:45problems. This is how I wanna change them cuz he had time to
37:47reflect and told us about that and I think part of that will
37:50be the coaching staff too cuz I don't know about you, Kevin.
37:53Like, I could see a scenario where Van Pelt and Covington
37:56both come back as the coordinators. I'm not saying
37:59that's what I would do. I don't know what I would do. Still got
38:02three weeks left but there's also a scenario where both of
38:05them are gone. So, I think the Crafts will have a good idea of
38:08what they wanna do. They'll discuss with the rod and say,
38:11hey, look, this wasn't good enough. You know it but tell us
38:14what you wanna do next offseason changes, right? We
38:17talk about rookies going from the college of the NFL. First
38:20offseason you experience that. This will be his first really
38:22full offseason as a head coach coming off of a season knowing
38:26what he wants to change. That year two leap applies to
38:28coaches too. So, that I think will be all part of their
38:30conversations whenever they have but where where are you on
38:32the coordinators? So, II kinda think they should they should
38:35be back uh particularly Van Pelt. I mean, he's done a great
38:38job with May and I just that that inconsistency from year to
38:42year. I think what made Brady so great was the fact that he
38:45had the same coordinator, same system year over year over year
38:48regardless of what we think about the system. I mean,
38:50May's played phenomenally within it. So, get the players
38:52for him and Van Pelt to do their thing and I think Van
38:55Pelt needs to do some work on his his play calling. Maybe
38:58play design. Get someone else in the room that maybe isn't
39:00Ben McAdoo uh to to kinda chime in on these sorts of things to
39:04to infuse some additional insights into the offense
39:06because what what they're doing now just just doesn't make
39:09sense. Um and and Covington, I mean, the defense is obviously
39:11underperformed. Uh he's gotta come to May with some sort of
39:14plan as to either some coaching turnover or or some
39:17some game plan improvements that he's seeing himself. Um
39:21but II think they both stay because I think the crafts and
39:24Mayo went into this year saying, hey, everyone's a
39:26rookie. The the coaches. Right. They're all rookies. They
39:28didn't know what they were doing. So, if you're if you're
39:30if you're hiring them as rookies, you kinda have to
39:32expect some improvement into year two and I think they'll
39:34get that chance but after year two, no whole bar. Uh Kevin,
39:39let me ask you something. Do you ever call in to Boston
39:41Sports Talk Radio? Never. Okay. Uh A, probably better for
39:46your health. B, they could use some of this rational just
39:50sense which I'd like to tend to bring on the show. Uh here.
39:54That's why I listen. Okay. Well, thank you. Uh okay. No.
39:57Okay. I guess it wasn't a compliment. That was just an
39:59explanation. But the but the point being, that's a rational
40:03well thought out take as upset as you are and you said the
40:05offense is unacceptable to say like, hey, what did you expect
40:08and honestly, I've had to remind myself in the height of
40:11just frustration sitting here at the same desk, doing the
40:14same show, watching the film over and over again to July
40:17when I'm writing, hey, X amount of thoughts before the
40:19training, before training camp, whatever. Last one, it can't
40:22get worse. Like, because of everything that you just
40:25mentioned. Now, I will say tomorrow as we speak here
40:27Thursday afternoon, I have a column going up about
40:29potential coordinator candidates for 2025 cuz I do
40:32expect one of them to go and certainly position coaches
40:35underneath to go and I've talked about the receivers in
40:37the O line being prime candidates for change. So, if
40:40you had to pick one, not saying you want to but I'm forcing
40:42this upon you. One coordinator to go. Who would it be and then
40:47who are your, I don't know, like top names you wouldn't
40:49mind at least seeing an interview if not someone
40:51getting the job. No, I I think it have to be Covington. Uh I
40:56I know Gerard has a great relationship with him. Uh he
40:58seemed to be a great D line coach. Uh just kind of all
41:00over defensive coach last few years but he just hasn't been
41:04able to get that defense going and they've had the pieces for
41:06it. So, I I think of the two, he's the one who could could
41:09could get the axe. As for a replacement, honestly, I kinda
41:13might lean and go someone on the staff. Uh if especially if
41:17they like Brian Belichick and don't want him jumping to go
41:19uh to go uh with his dad and UNC, maybe they pick him. I
41:23know Mike Pellegrino's have talked highly about. I don't
41:25know in a coordinator conversation. Uh but I love
41:28Mike whenever he speaks uh and he speaks intelligently on
41:31things. So, I don't know how much game planning he does and
41:33play calling but I think I would look internally for
41:36those answers but also bring in kind of a defensive person
41:40from outside the room as well uh and outside the building as
41:43well. I I don't know who that would be necessarily. I don't
41:45think in a coordinator role but I'd honestly lean on the
41:47internal candidates. Yeah, I I think that's smart because I
41:51think A, that's where the crafts and Gerard would wanna
41:54start not and you could go the cheap, don't wanna spend route
41:58and there's some, you know, validity to that. Owners don't
42:00like paying for multiple coaches that they just
42:02dismissed. Still on the hook for Belichick through the end
42:04of this year. Mayo would be next. Any coordinators, if
42:07they're fired, if and when or whomever it is, then you're
42:09obviously paying the people to replace him. So, Pellegrino's
42:12an interesting one because it made me think of my second
42:15year in the B 2019 where he was and I said this to him.
42:19Honestly, a bit of a jerk and it was like under strict
42:21orders from Bill of the old Mark Wahlberg line in the
42:25departed of just like, you know, whether it was uh you
42:28know, the Feds or in this case, the media, keep in the dark
42:31and feed him **** and that's what he do and now he's going
42:33into his own and just like we all do professionally,
42:36personally, you get like still the Long Island kinda F you
42:39kinda guy and the guy who's become a really seasoned
42:42cornerbacks coach. So, anyway, the experience level between
42:45him and Brian and Brian Belichick starts at safeties
42:48where typically when Bill would bring up coaches, they would be
42:50there and then move to the front and through that
42:52experience, have a more well-rounded view of the
42:54defense. Does it scream coordinator but to your point
42:57about continuity would check that box in a way that I do
43:00think is important. Let me run two other names by you though
43:02because um one is Patrick Graham. Do you remember him?
43:05Oh yeah. So, he's with the Raiders now. That's it. Talk
43:09about talk about firing coaches. The John Gruden, Josh
43:13McDaniels, and Antonio Pierce soon to all be on Mark Davis'
43:17payroll slash Tom Brady's and then whomever is gonna replace
43:19Antonio Pierce, you have to think. If he's gone, so is
43:22Patrick Graham. You'll be like, well, Las Vegas stinks. Why
43:24why do we want the Raiders scraps of all franchises? One of
43:26two teams that's gonna pick ahead of us, meaning us fan
43:29view of the Patriots and the draft. They were ninth in
43:32scoring defense last year. The guy went to Yale. This guy's
43:35been around the block. This guy's been in New England,
43:37left, has more of that experience. Doesn't mean he's
43:39always been successful. Would you feel better or the same
43:42about Patrick Graham as a defensive coordinator? I'd I'd
43:45feel better with Patrick Graham as a defensive coordinator.
43:47Obviously, he has the experience. Uh has had, like
43:49you said, some success and he was with the Patriots on their
43:53coaching staff for a time. Yeah. So, that's where you're
43:55gonna start. Yeah. He he knows the building. He knows the
43:58culture. Uh he knows kinda what what the expectations are
44:01for the franchise. So, I'd be very comfortable with that
44:03decision if he came on. The other name is uh Christian
44:07Parker and this is not as exciting because I think
44:09something that will come up as we get closer to the season, us
44:12here in the media. I was looking ahead and staying
44:14ahead. Could it be this? Could it be that? And you're like,
44:15oh, I wonder what it is and then it ends up being like for
44:18agency, though it's the least exciting option. Um Christian
44:21Christian Parker is a 32-year-old defensive backs
44:24coach plus passing game coordinator with the Eagles and
44:26before that was with the Broncos. There's a guy who's
44:29very well regarded in the league interviewed for the
44:31coordinator job last year. The reason that might appeal is not
44:35because he's the new hotshot though that alone sometimes
44:37gets people going is he's obviously had a lot of
44:40experience in a different system but he's young enough
44:43where he might not be like the coordinator he worked for at
44:45McFangio kind of as we say of our grandparents when they say
44:49things sort of like borderline of holidays set in their ways.
44:52You know, like he's still got some flexibility to him. Would
44:54that do anything for you or anyone who fits that profile?
44:57I do like that because I like the idea of of bringing in a
45:00younger coach. Someone who maybe doesn't necessarily have
45:03the same level of experience but has more experience as a
45:06coordinator of some part of the defense um and can can kind of
45:10bring that experience and the new ideas because I feel like
45:11they were trying to use the same defense that they've had
45:15inject some new things which doesn't seem to have panned out
45:18so if they can bring in some more new ideas from more
45:20experience system and uh a system that is clearly playing
45:23at a very high level um for the Eagles. I'd be behind that
45:26for sure between him and Patrick Graham and probably
45:30lean with the newer guy and Chris Parker but I think both
45:33would be better candidates than what Covington has given them
45:36so far this year uh and unless Covington can really convince
45:38Mayo and the Crafts that hey, he's got an actual actionable
45:41plan uh to improve the defense next year. I'd be happy with a
45:45change. Yeah. Uh anything else on the coaches? It's uh top of
45:48mind wish list or opposite of wish list like please please
45:53please don't let Matt Patricia within 100 yards of the school.
45:56I mean the facility like anything like that. I I think
46:00bringing in kind of someone more senior, a former head
46:02coach. I know I I think I've I've read somewhere that may was
46:06friendly with Tony Dungy and I think I heard rumor early on
46:08when he was hired uh about the the the former uh Tampa Bay
46:12Bucks head coach name is escaping me now uh an
46:15Indianapolis Colts head coach um to bring him in as more of a
46:18senior advisor. I I think I would like someone in that role
46:21either kind of advising Mayo and head coaching things or
46:25specifically on offense that again, I I don't know. I don't
46:28know how the thing came about, but clearly he's not brought
46:32necessarily what we need on offense uh to get the
46:35improvements there. so someone more senior. I think on both
46:38sides of the ball would be great um to kind of advise the
46:41coordinators and do a more supervisory sort of role um
46:46probably someone maybe retired um with with a decent amount of
46:49maybe not in the game right now um but at least can serve as
46:52that kind of senior advisor sort of role. Yeah. I like it.
46:55I think uh a sounding board, a consultant, someone who's not
46:58threatening in the way that you know people including myself
47:01have brought up like Brian Dable and then you go okay.
47:03Well, that guy's in the building for the same reason
47:05Gerard Mayo may have and I don't know this hesitated about
47:08Bill O'Brien. Well, if I suffer falter, this guy might be a
47:13threat to my job like the the kind of closeness with
47:16ownership, a little bit more experience than I've been a
47:18head coach before. There's the replacement. I don't wanna invite
47:20that wolf into my you know football house here. Um so it's
47:24an interesting thought. I mean there are a lot of dynamics to
47:26play and some of them are not even privy to but also just
47:29might get a lot more weight than we're like, hey, this
47:30makes sense on paper. It doesn't matter if people at the
47:33top don't wanna hire them including or Jonathan or
47:35rubber crab. Um alright, let's get you out on this. I asked
47:38uh our first guest Nick the same question. Give me a pick
47:41of prediction something either for Sunday, which if you don't
47:44wanna talk about Sunday's game, I totally understand um or we
47:47could just look ahead to the final two games or maybe in the
47:50day or two after just kind of like end of season prediction
47:53something you think is going to happen. So, I I'm gonna predict
47:57that they win two out of the last three games. Wow. He said
48:00one and I thought it was a little whoa. Okay. I think they
48:04win too. I think really, I don't wanna say John's coaching
48:07for his job but II think this team respects him enough that
48:10they are gonna play their absolute hardest these next few
48:13games and I hope he's he's breathed that fire behind
48:15closed doors cuz I think we saw some effort issued in the last
48:18games. Um and and honestly, I think this this Sunday's game
48:22is gonna be close than people think. Uh I'd love for it to at
48:25least be within a touchdown hopefully by the end um and
48:28it's not another runaway show but I think they'll win two of
48:31the last three and give some positive momentum going into
48:33the offseason uh and the defense I think is gonna play
48:36better than they have cuz II just think hopefully they've
48:39looked inside themselves and seen that they have not put out
48:41the best effort and uh we'll see the best side of this team
48:43and give us all some positivity going into the
48:45offseason. From your lips, Kevin Wallace to God's ears. Uh
48:49and there there are many football gods up there. Some of
48:52them a little punitive, petty uh or just just don't care
48:55about the Patriots at all but hopefully that that does turn
48:57around even just for the sake of uh the vibe around the
49:00program, the locker room, selfishly talking to happier
49:02people than we haven't been as lately in the media side would
49:04be really nice and look uh it's gonna it's like 18 degrees low
49:09of two looking at Sunday. I can't think of many things I
49:12would rather not do than play football in that type of
49:15weather. One of them though is play losing and watching
49:17losing football in that type of weather. So, god bless that
49:20fingers crossed for all included. That game stays
49:22close. Well, thank you again um for for buying the tickets,
49:26donating the money to LLS, a happy birthday to your mom and
49:30II think I've told you this before but the people listening
49:32don't know. We'll be doing much more work with LLS in the
49:35offseason in the future. I'll leave it at that but if you
49:38listening or watching now want to be on the show like Kevin or
49:41like Nick, we will be bringing back the male fan segment. So,
49:44all you have to do is just donate money to help people
49:46fighting leukemia, fighting lymphoma, do a good thing. Come
49:49on the show and talk sports. That's it. So, just like Kevin,
49:52you had a good time, right? Absolutely. Best time. My man.
49:55Okay. Alright. Uh that's kind of a compliment but we'll let
49:58you off the Scott. Uh I appreciate you man. Thank you
50:01again. Genuinely, it's uh it's been great to have you. Thank
50:04you. Go Pats.
50:11You.
