00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. I'm Theo Huston-Betts and as 2024 is coming to a close,
00:04we're going to take a look back at some of the best places that I've been able to visit
00:08this year. Now today we're going to be talking about food, so let's have a look back at some
00:12of the best meals I've had on camera since I joined the team back in the summer. Now we're
00:16going to start with a restaurant that's appeared in quite a few of our videos recently. It's a
00:20place that I was only lucky enough to sample recently and that is Sicilian & Q. It's a lovely
00:26Sicilian restaurant right here in Manchester's northern quarter with a whole host of brilliant
00:30traditional Italian dishes. The food's great, it's got a great range of vegan options too,
00:34and it's not too expensive. One of the first places that I got to try that's a real Manchester
00:38staple is Federal, which is an Australian themed coffee bar with some of the best French toast I
00:44have ever tried. It's got a brilliant layout inside and there's a couple of different branches
00:49all the way across Manchester, so you should never have too much trouble finding it. Again,
00:53I recommend the French toast. Now one of my biggest staples for a quick and easy lunch since
00:58I've joined the team here is Rita's Reign, which can be found at the Piccadilly street food market.
01:02It's a wonderful range of Caribbean street food. I get the same thing every time, which is a fusion
01:07box, which means you get half jerk chicken, half curry goat, some ricer peas and some jollof rice.
01:12One of my favourite stories since I've started Manchester World is First Street Bagels. I went
01:16there earlier this year after following their journey on Instagram and had one of the best
01:19bagels I've ever had in my entire life. It's such a brilliant little independent store, I really
01:24recommend it. On to a different sandwich shop and Fat Pats has claimed viral status over the last
01:28couple of years due to the sheer size of their sandwiches. I went there with the team earlier
01:33this year, we tried a couple of different sandwiches and were blown away. It's brilliant
01:38food. It is £18, it is a little bit pricey, but it really is very easy to recommend. And finally,
01:43if you're talking Manchester staples, you've got to talk about Rudy's Pizza. I was fortunate enough
01:47to go there for a bit of a pizza making class earlier this year and the pizza is some of the
01:51best I've tried. So again, all of these places I can't recommend enough. Please go down and give
01:56them a try and I can't wait to see what we've got in store for 2025.
