00:00That's a pie of theories, right? And it all contributes to why I don't think golf
00:04is even discussed for the MVP. Because it's true, Gator. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen,
00:09Saquon Barkley are having amazing years, at least stat-wise. They're doing amazing things.
00:14So there's all the guys that you could debate to be the NFL MVP. My beef and gripe is, along with
00:20you, Doug, is he's not even in the discussion, okay? And part of the reason my theories is,
00:25one, you brought up the McVeigh thing. The McVeigh slander has followed golf around and
00:29won't leave him for some reason, which made the national media believe that golf isn't that good,
00:35which now the national media has manipulated everybody else, including fans, to think
00:39golf's not that good. And the fact that he isn't flashy, he doesn't use his legs,
00:44he doesn't make these unbelievable highlight reel plays all the time, so people kind of neglect the
00:50fact that what he's doing is still amazing. But just because he doesn't throw it behind his back
00:5440 yards down the field doesn't make it any less great.
00:58Let me just say, in addition to that, because I'm loving what you're saying,
01:03the other thing with the McVeigh stuff is that golf had to leave to get to where he is. And now
01:11it has turned into more Ben Johnson love than it is Jared Goff love. Not that Ben Johnson hasn't
01:17made great as an offensive coordinator. Now everybody's saying, well, yeah, I hear that
01:21Ben Johnson offense. Gator, it's because my final theory is he's just not that respected by everybody
01:28else. He's not completely disrespected, but he's not as respected as he should be because you bring
01:33up the Ben Johnson, the old line, the weapons. Guess what? Go back in that list of NFL MVPs,
01:39Doug. They've had some good offensive weapons, a good offensive lines, a good offensive
01:42coordinators as well. And so people would say, well, it's the stats, guys, Lamar and Josh Allen,
01:48and they have these stats. Jared Goff is not just playing above average this year. This isn't like
01:54a Trent Dilfer year where the rest of the team's carrying him. He's fourth in touchdown passes,
01:59second completion percentage, second in passer rating, second in passing yards, second in
02:03yards attempt. He's the only player in NFL history to complete 72% of his passes and
02:09throw for more than 4,500 yards in a season. The only player in NFL history. This year,
02:15he had nine games of a completion percentage above 75%. The second greatest ever was Tom Brady
02:23in 2007 with eight. Brady won the MVP that year. The 15 and two record with the number one seed.
02:30This is a thing with quarterback. And he's outpacing Tom Brady. Yes. And the thing is,
02:35fine. He doesn't win it. He's not even being discussed. Not even being discussed is the part
02:41that I'm with. It's funny. I don't want to talk about him. You guys, you guys have touched on,
02:45but I personally think each and every year something that happens is the quarterback's
02:50ability to run gets a bigger slice of the pie of evaluating quarterbacks. It's a cool thing.
02:57I've always stated it's down my list of priorities when it comes to a quarterback.
03:01When you don't make the flashy run, I think it impacts negatively the perception of you.
