Telangana Local Body Elections : స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలు ఇప్పట్లో జరిగే సూచనలు కనిపించడం లేదు. బీసీలకు 42శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు కల్పించిన తర్వాతే స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించాలని ప్రభుత్వం భావిస్తోంది. పంచాయతీలు, మండల, జిల్లా పరిషత్‌లు, మున్సిపాల్టీలు, కార్పొరేషన్లలో ప్రత్యేక అధికారుల పాలన కొనసాగుతోంది. రాష్ట్రంలోని 12,769 పంచాయతీలకు 2019 జనవరిలో ఎన్నికలు జరిగాయి. గతేడాది జనవరి 31న సర్పంచిల పదవీకాలం ముగిసింది. రాష్ట్రంలోని 539 జడ్పీటీసీ, 5,817 ఎంపీటీసీలకు 2019 మే నెలలో ఎన్నికలు జరిగాయి. గతేడాది జులై 3న మండల పరిషత్, జులై 4న జిల్లా పరిషత్‌ల పాలక మండళ్ల పదవీకాలం ముగిసింది.

రాష్ట్రంలోని పది కార్పొరేషన్లు, 118 మున్సిపాల్టీలకు 2020లో ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించారు. గత నెల 26న వాటి పదవీకాలం కూడా ముగిసింది. పంచాయతీలు, మండల, జిల్లా పరిషత్‌లు, మున్సిపాల్టీలు, కార్పొరేషన్ల ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించలేక పోవడంతో ప్రభుత్వం ప్రత్యేక అధికారులను నియమించింది. ఈ స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల కోసం కసరత్తు ప్రారంభమైంది. అయితే బీసీలకు 42శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు కల్పించిన తర్వాతే ఎన్నికలపై ముందుకెళ్లాలని సర్కారు భావిస్తోంది. దీంతో స్థానిక పోరు ఆలస్యమయ్యే అవకాశం కనిపిస్తోంది.
