00:00Yeah, it was quite a long meeting but once we got into the diagnostic tool we were able
00:09to sail through it quite succinctly.
00:12Yeah, I thought it was very beneficial and it was something that as a club we felt that
00:18we needed to do.
00:19I think we all thought that we were doing okay as a club but I think we had a lot of
00:24sort of, as I said, learnings from it and things that we weren't aware of that could
00:30have sort of helped us improve as a club moving forward.
00:33We didn't really know what to expect but we understood it was related to culture, facilities
00:40and governance but then that kind of spread out once we got to use the diagnostic tool
00:46into other areas so I can't say it was what we were expecting but it was a good thing
00:51to do.
00:52There was certain parts of it that we didn't anticipate.
00:56It was a tool that enabled us to be honest about everything and obviously allowed us
01:00then to move forward from that as well.
01:03We had clear guidelines all the way through so as a group then we were able to collaborate
01:09and come up with the answers and the clear plan for what we needed to do as a club.
01:14We were able to look at our own procedures and our own certification along the lines
01:19of the governance and the culture and facilities and we ended up understanding our club a lot
01:26better going through the self-assessment tool.
01:29Oh yeah, like I said, there's lots of improvements needed.
01:34There's lots of things that we need to put in place so like I said it's just a case of
01:39trying to do one step at a time but we'll be focusing on trying to get to the end goal.
01:44I think it's a really positive thing.
01:46I think if every club can understand itself using that self-assessment tool then it gives
01:52WIU a lot more faith that all the clubs are being run well.
01:58But yeah, the culture and the governance, I think that would be a very good level playing
02:02field for all clubs that take part in this.
02:05It is a tough task to run a rugby club but by doing the self-assessment it's just giving
02:11us that little bit of confidence and a little bit of awareness as to how we've got to move
02:15forward for that sustainability.
