00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:05Warm across the country today, temperatures a degree or so higher through tomorrow
00:09and some parts through this evening will have a mild night.
00:13High pressure firmly in charge, casting an influence across the whole of the UK
00:17with a breeze coming in from the near continent.
00:20Slight changes as we head through to Thursday.
00:22This weather front, which will be weak, will sink southwards for some cooler air behind
00:26and we could see an increasing chance of a few scattered and thundery showers towards the south.
00:33Now for the time being, it's pleasantly warm outside with some late sunshine to end the day.
00:38A little low cloud here and there, perhaps one or two mist and fog patches.
00:43For Shetland, more cloud and the odd spot or two of rain and drizzle.
00:47Now overnight, some places will remain mild, western Scotland, western parts of Wales, northwest England.
00:52Inland though, we could see under clearer skies, temperatures dipping down to 6 or 7 Celsius.
00:59Lowest temperatures will be the glens of Scotland, but even here, probably around 5 degrees Celsius.
01:05So tomorrow will dawn bright and warm for some, but temperatures rising very quickly helped with that sunshine
01:11and even improving across Shetland through the morning into the afternoon.
01:15Not a lot of change as we head through the day.
01:17Notice one or two showers to the north of Scotland.
01:20You could see a little bit more cloud here as we head through the day.
01:23Elsewhere, blue sky, some moderate to high UV, some high pollen counts as well through the afternoon.
01:30Now temperatures typically will be a degree or two degrees higher than today.
01:35So coming in around 22, 23 degrees Celsius across Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:4024, 25 across Northern England and Wales, 27 across the home counties,
01:45as well as the southeast of England down towards the far south there.
01:48Now through tomorrow evening and overnight, not a lot of change.
01:53Yet again, temperatures will hold up, exceptionally mild for some,
01:57as we see more cloud and a little rain just encroach across the far northwest of Scotland.
02:02Few showers perhaps developing ahead of this weather front as it sinks southwards,
02:06introducing more cloud to Scotland and Northern Ireland for a time.
02:09Now further south, again, we'll see that fine weather, blue sky and sunshine,
02:14some high UV and temperatures on the ups, 27 to 29 degrees Celsius.
02:20So feeling hot in the southeast.
02:22Now further north, still a pleasant day.
02:24That cloud breaking and notice temperatures around the high teens.
02:28Further south though, later on, we could see one or two showers developing
02:31with the risk of one or two heavier downpours and also the chance of some thunder.
02:38That cloud here, as I said, keeping temperatures slightly lower
02:41and there will be more breeze across the northwest of Scotland
02:44where again one or two showers could filter in.
02:48So these showers could grow.
02:50They'll be fairly scattered.
02:51But as I said, there could be one or two heavier downpours
02:54as we head through Thursday evening and overnight.
02:58Into Friday, it looks like this.
03:00Again, one or two showers are possible.
03:03There will be more clouds across central and northern areas of Scotland.
03:06Temperatures waning a little bit.
03:07So the peak of the heat will be in the south on Thursday.
03:10But even so, still feeling pleasantly warm across England and Wales
03:14and temperatures across Scotland and Northern Ireland
03:16with that sunshine, 16 or 17 Celsius.
03:19Wherever you are, take care.
03:20I'll see you again soon.
