00:00But first, let's start off with this battle in the prediction markets that's going on across the country here.
00:05You may have heard us talk about this quite a few times on the show.
00:07Prediction markets basically are not sports betting operations.
00:12There are some states that feel that they are.
00:14And so this company called CalShe has been asked to exit a lot of the different markets that have legalized sports betting because they are basically being told that they are one.
00:23But in New Jersey, a district court judge has ruled that CalShe can still operate their prediction market business offering sport event contracts online.
00:32Same decision was made in Nevada about a month ago.
00:36So right now, with this judge saying that the temporary injunction stays in the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, can continue to operate as well.
00:45Also, the judge also suggested that Robinhood, as a partner of CalShe, was adversely affected by the DGE's actions when it withdrew from offering the NCAA tournaments contract, a factor that influenced the court's decision.
00:57So for now, a win for these prediction market companies in New Jersey and also in Nevada.
01:03They haven't, you know, done as well in some other states.
01:06Some have been asked to leave.
01:07We'll see what continues as the year goes on.
01:09Meanwhile, in the NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors have taken a commanding lead against the Houston Rockets in the first round of their seven-game series.
01:16They win 109-106 to go up big, 3-1 in the series.
01:21Fred Van Vliet from Houston had a shot to tie the game.
01:25He could not do it.
01:26Jimmy Butler returned to have 27 points in this one.
01:30And needless to say, Draymond Green also getting into it a little bit.
01:33Not the first, not the last time that this will happen.
01:36He was issued a technical foul, a flagrant one foul as well.
01:39But Steve Kerr, very happy to get Jimmy Butler back and getting one of his younger players to perform as well.
01:46Both guys were amazing.
01:48Brandon's big time, you know, second-year player, but plays like a 10th-year guy.
01:53I mean, he's just got so much poise and confidence.
01:56And he was obviously a key to everything.
01:59And then Jimmy getting to the line 12 times really carried us, especially in that fourth quarter.
02:05You know, it was just an incredible performance by our guys against a great team that gave us everything we could handle tonight.
02:17So it's a big-time win.
02:18You went with the double-big lineup for a large portion tonight.
02:22How do you think that that fared, especially compared to the starting lineup, which seemed to have a rough start to both halves?
02:28Yeah, they were great.
02:29They kept us in the game.
02:31Obviously, the start of the third quarter, 18-1 run, and just gave everything back that we did before in the halftime.
02:40And to be up 7 and go down 10 that quickly with some of them, I mean, the missed shots or whatever, nobody tries to miss shots.
02:47But the non-help off of certain guys, you know, leaving shooters, and then just not rebounding.
02:54They can't, again, they beat us in the offensive glass, second-chance points.
02:58So not a great start there.
02:59Double-big was the reason we stayed in the game.
03:02Another sweep in the NBA playoffs occurred last night.
03:05And honestly, a waste of time.
03:06It appeared to play this game in Miami.
03:08My goodness, the Cavaliers throttled the Miami Heat.
03:11The final was 138-83, 55-point win.
03:16It's the fourth-biggest playoff win in NBA history, and the most since 2009.
03:22Donovan Mitchell had 22 points.
03:24He really didn't have to play a lot in this one.
03:27So the Cavs at this point will await their next team.
03:30It looks like it could be the Indiana Pacers, who are up 3-1 in the Milwaukee Bucks.
03:35We'll preview that game coming up in a little bit.
03:38Donovan Mitchell, after the game, giving credit to the fast start, specifically from his teammate, Jarrett Allen.
03:45This guy right here.
03:46I mean, like, we all had the mindset.
03:48Max sent a text last night in the group chat, you know, just reminding us.
03:52And it really speaks to the collectiveness of the group, what we have.
03:56And then when you get out there and he sets the tongue with a steal and a dunk, you know what I'm saying?
04:01Like, it really, you know.
04:03And then he said, he had some words that he said to me that I won't repeat,
04:06but that's when I knew who we were going to win.
04:08That just speaks to where we're all at.
04:11And, you know, that's the biggest thing, just the maturity level as a group.
04:15But, you know, we handle our business.
04:17And this is the toughest game of the series.
04:18And, you know, for us, we really set the tone, and that's something to be proud of.
04:22Congratulations, Cleveland.
04:24They're a hell of a basketball team.
04:25They're going to be on probably a long run right now.
04:30But they're well coached.
04:31They have a group that fits and plays the right way.
04:35So we were humbled.
04:38But they had so much to do with a lot of how we looked.
04:45You know, none of us would have guessed, you know, the series would have gone this way,
04:50coming out of our two play-ins, and even how we competed in the first two games.
04:57But they just took it to another level.
04:59Obviously, we didn't play well, and we didn't meet any kind of level from there.
05:03But, you know, they left us behind these last two games.
05:08No one would have guessed the Heat's worst record in the history of the NBA to make the playoffs
05:14would have gotten swept against the Cavs.
05:16Okay.
05:16George Kittle signs a four-year contract extension, $76 million, with $40 million guaranteed.
05:22So Brock Purdy will have one of his top weapons back next season.
05:27George Kittle is now the NFL's highest-paid tight end.
05:31Meanwhile, the tenure in the National Hockey League as a head coach rarely goes to 10 years.
05:36That's what happened.
05:37But Mike Sullivan is out as Pittsburgh Penguins head coach after a decade of coaching the squad.
05:43He was the longest-tenured coach in Penguins history.
05:46The Bruins and Rangers jobs are open.
05:48Maybe he'll land one of those jobs.
05:50Wyatt Johnson, nine seconds into the game, scores a goal.
05:55And the big one ends up being a 6-2 final as the Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche.
06:02Miko Ratnan, who was with the Avalanche in the playoffs the past seven seasons, scored his first postseason goal.
06:08He also had two assists for the Stars as they took a 3-2 lead.
06:12Head coach of the Avs, Jared Bednar, clearly a little stunned how things began last night.
06:18Down three is not a position this team's been in a while.
06:21Were they a bit stunned at times tonight?
06:24Our team?
06:25Yes.
06:26Well, it's easy to fall down three when we give up those first two, right?
06:32A couple strange goals there for sure.
06:34The first one, and then the second one lands on his back and goes in.
06:38I thought we were playing okay.
06:40We definitely needed to get sharper on the defensive side of it early in the game, but we pushed back and created some good chances at the other end.
06:47You go down three, we're fighting hard, we get it within one.
06:51And then they love that penalty call in that game, especially the way the game was going.
06:57So then it kind of gets out of reach for us, right?
07:01The Battle of Florida on the ice right now looks like it's going to the defendant champion, Florida Panthers.
07:07Two goals in 11 seconds.
07:09They rallied to beat the Lightning 4-2.
07:10They're up 3-1 in the series.
07:12They can close it out on Wednesday night or Thursday night, excuse me.
07:16All right.
07:16The Mets, they clobber, I mean, in such a big way.
07:20The Washington Nationals, folks, they put a 19 spot up yesterday.
07:24Brandon Nimmo drove in nine runs in the game.
07:27And by the way, the record is 12 in Major League Baseball.
07:29Also, the Dodgers and Marlins fought right to the end yesterday.
07:32How about that?
07:33Dane Myers comes in off the bench.
07:35It's a pinch hit grand slam.
07:37But the Marlins lose to the Dodgers in the 10th inning.
07:407-6 was the final in that one.
07:43Tyler Soderstrom has been a revelation for the Sacramento A's this season.
07:48A two-run double is enough.
07:49The A's beat the Rangers 2-1.
07:51J.P. Sears threw five and a third.
07:53And Mason Miller closed the door.
07:55He's been fantastic.
07:56Is it going to be in the All-Star game, I would guess, again,
07:57as the Yankees try to come back against the Orioles?
08:00It falls short.
08:01And the Orioles hold on to win 4-3 final there.
08:04Tons of Major League Baseball, of course, action coming your way a little bit later.
08:08Tons of Major League Baseball, of course, action coming your way a little bit later.
