00:00In Palestine, Israeli occupation forces carried out new massacres despite calls by international
00:05bodies for an immediate ceasefire.
00:07Local media reported that the Tel Aviv regime's troops shelled residential areas in north,
00:11center and south of the Gaza Strip, killing dozens of innocent civilians.
00:15These actions take place despite the fact that the Secretary General of the United Nations,
00:19António Guterres, called on Sunday for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which
00:24the Israeli army continues to bombard after seven months.
00:27According to a preliminary balance sheet, the current Israeli aggression has resulted
00:31in 34,971 Palestinians killed and 78,641 wounded, figures that are expected to be even higher
00:39since many of the victims are under the rubble of the buildings that have been destroyed
00:43by the Israeli bombardment.
00:46Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle
00:53East reported that at least 300,000 refugees are fleeing the city of Rafah after the start
00:58of the Israeli occupation army's ground invasion.
01:00The agency criticized the forced and inhumane displacement of the Palestinian people.
01:05This also comes at a time when Israeli troops occupy the border crossing that represented
01:09the only gateway to Gaza for food, medicine and fuel.
01:22The Palestinian authorities also denounced the killing of more than 140 journalists and
01:27media workers in the framework of the Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
01:31A government information office in Gaza explained that the latest victim was a photojournalist
01:35who lost his life this Saturday along with his wife and child in a bombardment of his
01:39home in the Jabalia refugee camp.
01:41According to reports, Israeli forces have targeted dozens of the headquarters of their
01:44professional institutions, including the offices of Al Jazeera, Palestine TV, The Ma'an news
01:50agency as well as the newspapers Al-Quds and Al-Ayam.
01:54The actions against the union have resulted in the murder of 143 Palestinian journalists
01:58since October 7, 2023.
02:00The Union of Palestinian Journalists criticized the silence of the International Criminal
02:04Court in the face of the Israeli aggressions.
02:11The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the number of bodies found in mass graves
02:15in hospitals in the Gaza Strip has risen to 520.
02:19Health authorities reported that in the courtyard of the Al-Shifa Medical Compound, 80 bodies
02:23were found buried in the three mass graves, four of which were identified as health officials.
02:29Investigations by the health authorities indicated that some of the victims were tortured while
02:34others have bullet wounds inflicted at close range.
02:37In this regard, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas blamed Israel for digging these
02:41graves to hide the lifeless bodies of Palestinian victims killed during its attacks on medical
02:46centers in Gaza.
02:52Also in Palestine, at least 28 civilians were killed in shelling by Israeli troops over
02:56the past 24 hours in the Gaza Strip.
02:59According to medical reports, these events also wounded about 69 people.
03:02One of the Israeli raids targeted the town of al-Zawaira in the center of the Gaza Strip
03:07and another one in the north of the Nusayrat camp.
03:10According to local health authorities, the number of Palestinians killed by Israel since
03:13October 2023 rose to 34,097 while the number of wounded stood at 78,641.
03:20However, they warned that these figures could be even higher as many of the victims remain
03:25trapped under the rubble.
03:32In the Swedish city of Malmo, protesters stand in solidarity with Palestine and demand the
03:36expulsion of Israel's representatives from the Eurovision Song Contest.
03:40Demonstrators who advocate for an indefinite ceasefire in the Gaza Strip rejected the attack
03:44of Tel Aviv against innocent civilians.
03:47When alluding to their participation of Israel in a continental competition, protesters highlighted
03:51the irony in trying to hide their genocidal actions with artistic expressions inherent
03:56to the human condition which the Zionist regime lacks.
03:59Furthermore, they called for the contest to ban the Israeli representative and recalled
04:03the use of the measure against Russia during the 2023 edition of the event, due to the
04:07beginning of a special military operation in Ukraine.

05:52More than 5,700,000 Catalans go to the polls to participate in the Catalan parliamentary
05:57elections.
05:58More than 8,000 polling stations were set up to elect the 135 deputies who will make

06:07time.
06:08According to the authorities, the results will be announced in the hours following the
06:11closing of the polls.
06:13These elections are being held under allegations of irregularities such as the theft of copper
06:17wiring in the trains of Barcelona, which has delayed the movement of voters since the early
06:22hours of this Sunday.
06:29In other news, new Ukrainian attack on Russia's Belgorod region leaves at least 19 people
06:33injured.
06:34According to local authorities, the Ukrainian attack targeted a 10-story residential building,
06:39which was damaged, according to sources.
06:41Minutes after the attack, the roof of the building collapsed, falling on rescuers who
06:45were carrying out rescue works.
06:48According to reports, more than 16 people have been rescued from inside the building
06:52so far, and search teams are continuing rescue efforts to pull out the victims trapped under
06:58the rubble.
07:05Meanwhile on Saturday, at least 4 people were killed and 11 wounded in Lugansk region following
07:09an attack by Ukrainian troops on an oil depot.
07:12According to local authorities, the attack was allegedly carried out with cluster munition
07:15missiles, causing a series of fires in the area that damaged residential buildings, machinery
07:20and civilian vehicles.
07:22According to the authorities, an investigation was launched into the attack because it was
07:25carried out with ballistic missiles supplied by the United States.
07:34In Venezuela, thousands of people took to the streets of the state of Carabobo in support
07:39of President Nicolás Maduro's government.
07:41On Saturday, Venezuelans expressed their rejection of the coercive measures imposed by the U.S.
07:47government on the country.
07:49Citizens reaffirmed their unwavering support of Maduro's policies implemented for the
07:55well-being of Venezuelans.
07:57The demonstration was led by National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez and Vice President
08:02Délice Rodríguez.
08:09On Friday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro spoke of creating a national agreement to
08:13be signed at popular assemblies.
08:15He launched the proposal at the closing ceremony of a nationwide program, Government with Popular
08:20Neighborhoods, held in the city of Cali, southwest of Colombia.
08:24President Petro emphasized that such an agreement cannot be made at the Nariño Government Palace,
08:28but that it has to spring from the grassroots levels.
08:32In his message, he invited the Colombian oligarchy to join in this proposal for the construction
08:37of a true democracy.
08:47What we want is a national agreement, but not for the government to kneel or for the
08:55people to be silenced.
08:56That is not a national agreement.
09:00The national agreement we want to build is to accept that now Colombia is going through
09:04a phase of democratic reforms, of social reforms, to settle the great outstanding debt with
09:13those still in poverty.
09:17Peru is undergoing another institutional crisis.
09:20The Peruvian Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation on President Dina Boluarte
09:25following the arrest of her brother, Nicanor Boluarte.
09:28The President's sibling is accused of being the leader of a criminal organization called
09:32the Shadow Vikings, allegedly involved in the appointment of prefects and sub-prefects
09:37throughout the country.
09:38President Boluarte has remained silent for a week, even after the arrest took place.
09:43However, the Public Prosecutor's Office has opened proceedings against her and against
09:47her interior minister, Walter Ortiz, for deactivating the team of prosecutors against corruption
09:52in the midst of the Shadow Wilkins plot.
09:55Despite the complex panorama, the President's spokesman says she does not intend to resign.

10:42The Taliban Refugee Ministry confirmed Sunday that at least 315 people have been killed
10:46by heavy flooding in northern Afghanistan.
10:49The ministry also reported that over 1,630 people were injured during recent flooding
10:54in several provinces of the country, particularly Baghlan.
10:57Authorities added that at least 665 homes were totally destroyed by the rising waters
11:02and that the death toll is expected to rise.
11:05Since mid-April, floods have killed about 100 people in 10 of Afghanistan's provinces,
11:09with no region entirely spared.
11:11Farmlands have been submerged in a country where 80% of the more than 40 million people
11:15depend on agriculture to survive.
11:22In Brazil, authorities issued a high hydrological and geological risk alert in Rio Grande do
11:26Sul for this Sunday, May 12.
11:29Heavy rains could trigger landslides and floods that could occur throughout the Brazilian
11:32state.
11:33As a result of this, the authorities asked citizens not to return to their homes, since
11:37forecasts foresee another cold front and the growth of a low-pressure area as a result
11:42of the storms.
11:44So far, the Brazilian government has registered around 618,000 people affected, 136 deaths
11:49and more than 2 million citizens impacted by the climate crisis.
12:00In Ecuador, residents of the town of Olón oppose the felling of mangroves for the construction
12:05of a real estate project in which the wife of President Eleonor Boa is a shareholder
12:09and where the president's family owns properties.
12:12From Quito, our correspondent Henry Pillajo gave us the details in the following report.
12:18In the town of Olón in the province of Santa Elena on the coast of the country, a real
12:24estate project is to be built in a mangrove swamp that includes a protective forest.
12:30The executing company is Vinizen S.A. where one of the shareholders is Lavinia Valbonici,
12:37wife of the president.
12:42We have called attention from such a small community as Olón precisely because of all
12:46these ingredients of having big names and names connected to politics.
12:51But these outrages and abuses are happening all over the country.
12:58Local residents denounce the degradation of the mangrove swamp, as well as the felling
13:02of some species of trees for the construction of this real estate project, which has all
13:07the environmental permits approved in a short period of time, a project that according to
13:12local residents has a high environmental impact.
13:17We are not opposed to development.
13:19We are opposed to development that privileges rent against life and nature.
13:23What they are doing is attacking the future life and future peace of mind of many people
13:27who chose Olón as a life plan to retire.
13:29That is what we are against.
13:32At the moment, the management by the machinery is already disturbing the ecosystem habitat.
13:40All animals are already being disturbed in these early stages of soil movements.
13:46The government from the private media minimized these allegations and accused them of politicizing
13:50this case.
13:53It is an eminently political issue of a systematic attack against the image of the President
13:57of the Republic, and it is regrettable that this has to escalate to the National Assembly.
14:06Sometimes these scandals have to do with the need of political parties that see themselves
14:10outside the field, speaking in football terms, that saw the 9-2 dropping in the popular consultation.
14:19Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Olón, as well as environmental defenders and activists,
14:25denounce the police and military presence in different communities that raise voices
14:29of protest in defense of their territories.
14:34Intimidating acts of the public forces are becoming increasingly frequent in the government
14:38of President Novoa.
14:41In Ilan, they have a deed on the 23rd of September, 2023, they come to the government.
14:47In less than 10 days, they have an environmental permit, and now they send the military and
14:53the police to execute it.
14:54With what money do we pay the military?
14:57With our taxes.
14:58But they are making them useless for their business.
15:01It is not the only case with the Novoa family, it is the case of Inga Bale and nine other
15:07communes on the coast.
15:11True complaints from the villagers of Olón about the felling of the mangrove swamp led
15:16the public prosecutor's office to initiate a preliminary investigation into the real
15:20estate project in which the president's wife and people close to his government are involved.
15:28The Long Live Venezuela festival kicked off in Caracas with a large gathering featuring
15:32cultural expressions from all corners of the country to show the world the cultural richness
15:36of Venezuela.
15:39Drums from all regions of the country, calypso and jeropo from the plains, dancing devils,
15:44the tangible heritage of humanity, and much joy, music and colors were present at Caracas
15:49Monumental Stadium for the The World Festival.
15:52Long Live Venezuela!
16:02We have kept this tradition for the past 44 years.
16:06We celebrate Saint John the Baptist, the May Cross, this is our culture, we love it, for
16:11us it is paramount.
16:13We feel happy and fulfilled with our culture and our traditions.
16:19We have a very nice parranda, we sing the estribillo, the aguinaldo, the fulia, the
16:24malagueña and the jota which have faded, but we have other cultural expressions like
16:29the huacharao dance, the burriquita, the iriste dance, the terecén bull and many others such
16:37as the aguinaldo, the galerón, we play all kind of genre.
16:42Each cultural expression represents roots, the families that have kept such traditions,
16:52the histories of the towns where such traditions have survived, and a diversity of origin,
16:58whether African, indigenous or Catholic.
17:04It is very important to know where we come from, it is important to acknowledge the cultural
17:08heritage of our Afro-descendants.
17:11It seems perfect to me because here in Venezuela we are full of joy, as it is manifested here
17:16this afternoon.
17:22The festival also aims at acknowledging the people who keep all these musical traditions
17:25alive and a national registrary program has been undertaken to tend to their social needs.
17:30First, we started by making a registry of all culturists across the country.
17:35We have spent several weeks making that registry, with the support of the Ministry of Culture,
17:42along with the movement We Are Venezuela, so that we may show Venezuela and the world
17:46the incredible amount of culturists we have, not only for drums, for the cuatro, the maracas
17:53or the yin-era music.
17:56Music and culture show the best face of Venezuela to the world.
18:01The Venezuelan people aims at constantly improving itself through art.
18:06Because art is diversity.
18:13Venezuela is a country of peace, a country that strives to develop.
18:18Venezuela is not a country of war, we don't want war, as you can see here, people gathering
18:23to celebrate culture, art, music.
18:27We do need a lot of support from all Venezuela's allies to have the US economic sanctions removed.
18:33We do not mess with them.
18:35We don't even think of them, we are hard-working people.
18:42The festival got underway with opening remarks by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and
18:47a great drone show portraying different cultural expressions.
18:50The festival will run until May 19, it gathers representatives from 25 guest countries and
18:56its program includes some 400 presentations, on stages in the states of La Guayra, Miranda
19:02and in Caracas, the country's capital.
