Episode 12 – Spirits of the Orang Asli [Part 2]
In this two-part episode, Li Kim and The Paranormal Zone team travel to the Temenggor Dam in Perak to meet with and learn from the Jahai tribe of the local Orang Asli settlement. Still shrouded in mysticism, the animistic natives of the land believe and call upon spirits of the elements such as the wind, water, fire and earth through a ritual dance known as “Sewang” to heal, to perform exorcism and also as a form of celebration. It is a world that city folks may not understand as our logic and rationale are bolted in science and technology, but this is a reality that is real and powerful for the Orang Asli and it is one of spirits, curses and talking trees.
