00:13 The Yellowstone star, 68, held the 1-805-LIVEYE event at a polo field on his luxurious estate.
00:20 1-805 is an organization that was established in 2018 and provides financial aid and mental health support for first responders in Santa Barbara County.
00:30 The Sussexes, who live in Montecito, Calif., presented Costner with an honorary award at the event.
00:35 In a video shared by the charity on their Instagram story Friday, Markle42, clap as Harry, 39, went over to the Bodyguard star to present the award and shake his hand.
00:45 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared relaxed and chatty at the event, mingling backstage with Costner and law enforcement, according to eyewitnesses.
00:53 The royal couple happily mingled with the crowd and even posed for a selfie with Katy Perry's parents.
00:58 "A-seek-ee-do-ray!"
00:59 Harry and Markle weren't the only big names of the soiree, though.
01:02 Oprah Winfrey, who released a bombshell interview with the royals in March 2021, was also in attendance.
01:08 In a video reposted on the charity's Instagram story, the former talk show host introduced firefighter Sam Dudley onstage alongside his service dog, Rhoda.
01:17 Oprah Winfrey was also on hand to present an award to a first responder.
01:21 "A-seek-ee-do-ray!"
01:22 She called him an "extraordinary man," before noting that 1-805 has provided counseling services for over 700 first responders and this year alone prevented 24 suicides.
01:33 Maroon 5 was also present to provide entertainment for all of the guests.
01:36 The band's lead singer, Adam Levine, was heard singing their hit "This Love" in a clip from the gathering.
01:42 At one point, Costner, 68, took the stage to address the attendees and said, "Good afternoon, everyone."
01:48 Costner had been set to host the event with his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, GROAPO/Avalon.
01:54 "Now, I get asked a lot by my friends who have no manners, 'Kev, what's this place cost? What's it worth?'
02:00 And I can just simply tell you on a day like today, it's worth every penny," he added.
02:04 The Hidden Figures star continued, "It's a place that I've had a lot of good luck in my life, and I've tried to not throw up a wall around it.
02:11 So, thank you for coming."
02:12 Per 1-805's website, Costner was previously set to host the shindig with his ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, but he took over the duties solo following their contentious split.
02:22 Costner finalized his divorce just days before the charity event.
02:25 GROAPO/Avalon, the warring couple who had been duking it out in court for months, finally settled their divorce this week.
02:32 Kevin and Christine Costner have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings.
02:39 The exes shared in a joint statement to Page Six Tuesday.
02:43 Baumgartner, 49, filed for divorce from the Oscar winner in May after 18 years of marriage.
02:48 They share three children together.
02:50 Meghan Markle had a mishap with a microphone as she took to the stage for a charity fundraising event in Santa Barbara, near her family home in Montecito, last Friday, September 22.
03:00 She and Prince Harry were greeted with rapturous applause as they were called on stage at Kevin Costner's 1-805 Live!
03:07 event at his £21.2 million, $26 million, polo field, with the charity providing financial aid and mental health support to first responders.
03:16 However, Meghan then reaches out to take the microphone before awkwardly realizing it is not yet time for her to make her speech.
03:23 But the Duchess kept her cool as she speeds across the stage to present an award to the actor and carries on as if her mistake had never happened.
03:30 Many of their other celebrity friends were at the event, including Katy Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Eileen DeGeneres, and Portia de Rossi.
03:37 At the event, Meghan looked elegant in an oversized black and white Carolina Herrera coat paired with Manolo Bloddick Hamperange 105 pumps, accessories with a Cartier watch and bangle, and yellow gold Tobayer Aura rings.
03:50 Royal fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to comment on Meghan's awkward exchange over the microphone, with many granding it embarrassing.
03:57 The royal couple's success at the event echoed their positive reception at the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany earlier this month.
04:05 Harry and Meghan were openly affectionate throughout the Games, holding hands and posing for photographs with fans as they took in several of the sports on offer.
04:13 At both the opening and closing ceremonies, Harry gave an emotional speech in which he paid tribute to all the veterans competing and their families who came to offer their support.
04:22 He said of the closing ceremony, "As you have seen and experienced, this week is so much more than a sporting event. It is a platform for positive change.
04:29 We hope you too are feeling it deeply. I am sure you are all physically exhausted, but I also hope you are mentally stronger than when you arrived."
04:36 Meghan was seen beaming and applauding her husband from the audience as he continued,
04:40 "We may have provided the platform but you provided the magic. We've all witnessed the true impact sport has had on your recovery and on your post-traumatic growth,
04:48 but you will never truly know the impact that your actions this week have had on millions of people around the world."
