00:00 >> Hope to win, so we gotta ask you.
00:02 >> 100%, nine potential wins on the table.
00:05 What does that mean for you?
00:07 I mean, I know you, Kansas kid, come to Kansas.
00:10 >> Right. >> Kansas has a lot of really good
00:12 schools.
00:13 How cool is that?
00:14 >> Yeah. >> To see Kansas in the positives for
00:18 the win more, but you wouldn't not.
00:20 >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
00:21 >> I mean, it's special.
00:22 It's just something you can't really speak up to too much.
00:25 You just say that you wanna do this, you wanna achieve your dream.
00:29 But to actually be able to be a part of this special.
00:31 >> Yeah, yeah.
00:32 >> It's really cool, and not just necessarily planting trees.
00:35 >> Yeah, yeah.
00:36 >> Actually being a part of it's pretty cool to me.
00:37 And I know it means a lot to the, especially to the older guys who've been
00:41 through a lot in this program too.
00:42 So I'm just glad that everyone's got to experience this.
00:45 Even for the freshmen,
00:46 they don't have to experience what was in the past too.
00:48 So that's also really cool to me.
00:50 >> Yeah, and those conversations with all the guys like Jason and Rich.
00:53 How have those conversations been?
00:54 Have they kind of been like, hey, enjoy everything as long as you can?
00:58 >> Yeah, I mean, obviously, I kind of got thrown into the fire early.
01:02 >> [LAUGH] >> So they kind of told me that just as
01:05 much as serious this game is, to enjoy it.
01:09 I think I did the best of that this past season of just enjoying football.
01:13 Even through the hardships of fall camp, just enjoy it.
01:16 I mean, obviously, I'm about to go into my senior year.
01:20 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:21 >> It's just like that.
01:22 And it just feels like it's just yesterday I was just walking through the middle.
01:25 So these are the best times of my life.
01:27 I mean, it's the best time of your life too.
01:28 >> It's awesome.
01:29 >> Yeah, your mom was telling me you've been playing with a lot more joy,
01:32 a lot more fun.
01:32 Do you feel like that is the case?
01:34 >> Yeah, I think that was a change of mindset for me.
01:36 I think, and obviously, not playing baseball helped too.
01:40 >> [LAUGH] >> I'm so exhausted.
01:41 >> Yeah.
01:43 >> I think being able to let Lucid change my game,
01:45 obviously, I spent a lot of hard work in off season too.
01:48 But in the season, I just playing free, playing ball like we did in little league.
01:53 That's the thing that I need to remember.
01:55 It's just like football hasn't changed since I played in little league.
01:58 So I'm definitely enjoying it.
02:00 >> How did you change your mindset?
02:01 >> Yeah, I mean- >> Was it just kinda like trying to keep
02:03 you open minded?
02:04 >> Yeah, just almost just flip and switch.
02:05 It's just like when you're facing the hard moments of off campus,
02:09 not just remembering, man, all day.
02:11 Just focusing on what I'm doing, where I am right now.
02:14 I'm at practice, have fun at practice.
02:17 At meetings, try to find a way to have fun at meetings.
02:19 It's serious as it could be.
02:20 I think we did the best as a running back, bro, too.
02:24 Not necessarily just focus on X and O, just having fun with the guys, too.
02:28 That's a big factor in everything.
02:29 I think people could see that with the team this year a little bit more, too.
