00:02:49 Let's go
00:02:51. Hey, what's my side?
00:03:01 But he
00:03:03 Welcome to part of my take presented by draftkings
00:03:26 Sportsbook today is Monday March 4th and LeBron James
00:03:31 Has hit 40,000 points. Oh wow I'm very excited about that guess how many he has in college
00:03:37 It's zero mmm is Caitlin Clark set the real record today. Yeah, she did she had a hell of a record
00:03:42 She also said in a very Caitlin Clark way with a flop and a technical foul yep two free throws
00:03:48 Yes at the end of the first half if you happen to bet Caitlin Clark to break the record in the third quarter like I believe
00:03:54 Most of America did mm-hmm. That's unfortunate. Yeah, but
00:03:58 still an incredible
00:04:01 Performance by Caitlin Clark going to the WNBA still has some college basketball left
00:04:05 Mmm, the Big Ten tournament for the women's college basketball is gonna be better than the Big Ten men's tournament
00:04:10 I'll just say that right now it might be because the Big Ten men's bad basketball my own team included
00:04:15 But LeBron 40,000 points you want to hear a whoa yep, okay? This is from Ben Gulliver
00:04:23 Lakers LeBron James the first NBA player to score 40,000 points James scored his first
00:04:27 10,000 points in the exact same number of games as it took him to go from
00:04:33 30,000 to 40,000 whoa so the first 10k was in
00:04:38 368 games 10k to 20k was
00:04:42 358 games 20k to 30k was 381 slowed down a little 30k to 40k
00:04:48 368 game that's pretty impressive. That's insane. That's a weird. That's a weird quirk, but insane his longevity is unmatched
00:04:55 He's I mean what else can you say I think
00:04:59 The the best Ron James the best take on this comes from I think who we all expected to have the best take on this
00:05:05 Antonio Brown I was gonna say LeBron James - okay
00:05:09 Is he all right go with Antonio Brown Antonio Brown's take was he put up a picture LeBron James holding?
00:05:14 40,000 on a piece of paper, and then he just said how many crackers work at Barstool Sports. Oh nice hashtag yes
00:05:21 Hashtag CTE SPN yes, yes, that is the best take LeBron also had a take
00:05:26 He said to be quite honest with you everybody wanted to see me fail when I got to the league
00:05:30 Everybody was just like it's no way he's gonna be able to exceed the expectations that put upon him is that true
00:05:36 I don't think so. I'm I don't think everyone wanted him to fail
00:05:38 I don't know that anybody wanted like the media wanted him to succeed correct
00:05:43 That's a good job by us by saying LeBron James will be the best player ever yeah
00:05:47 Hey, did you want him to fail not right away right away?
00:05:49 Definitely not right away. When did you start wanting LeBron to fail when he became an enemy?
00:05:54 Yeah
00:05:56 probably
00:05:58 2011 yeah, so you had a long time not rooting for him to fail and you're like his biggest hater
00:06:04 I'm trying to think when they beat it was I think was the first year of the super team they rigged it game six
00:06:10 Against Celtics in the playoffs. Oh, they did and then ever since then they rigged it rigged it
00:06:16 Rage on Rondo got smoked in the head on a layup underneath the basket didn't call foul rigged it rigged it
00:06:23 Lost a series and be rigged that was truly I remember waiting the game ended
00:06:27 I was like I can't wait to hear Stephen a I can't hear them like they're gonna go on about this is gonna be the
00:06:30 Biggest controversy in sports history nobody said anything nobody said anything
00:06:34 Rigged the craziest thing about LeBron
00:06:37 40,000 points is I don't I don't think anyone's gonna hit it like I don't even though the scoring is crazy in the NBA right now
00:06:44 I was looking at it and Luka has 10,000 points in six years
00:06:48 But to say Luka can play to be 40 years old with his body no offense to his body
00:06:53 Would be a jump yeah, I was gonna say I don't know what his his maintenance technique is right
00:07:00 I don't think he keeps his body in as good shape. Yeah, Kevin Durant's gonna hit 30,000 points within the next year
00:07:06 So but he's in his mid 30s has some injuries
00:07:09 Steph is I think like around 30,000 points, but again also old I mean Wemby
00:07:16 But he's I don't know how a seven-footers gonna play to be 40
00:07:20 I was watching when we play today, and if he can hit step-back threes, then maybe he could do it
00:07:24 He's like he's with John Pace when one year when B is a he's a fucking freak
00:07:29 Yeah, but it really goes to show some Tatum Jason Tatum. How many points Jason Tatum 11,000 is
00:07:34 11,000 and how many seasons he's 26 okay?
00:07:38 Yeah, okay there. We go. We'll throw Jason Tatum in there. Happy Hank. Yeah, yeah
00:07:43 You could you could play for a while either way. This is about LeBron
00:07:47 it's insane what he's been able to do for as long as he's been able to do it and
00:07:51 He is like for I'm not a big huge LeBron fan everyone knows that I don't think anyone on this podcast
00:07:59 Is a huge LeBron fan, but I also feel like we've done at least an okay job
00:08:03 Respecting the fact that he is an insane insane basketball talent who is you know people will say he's the best of all time
00:08:11 I have him too, which is and I think the gap between two and three is huge
00:08:14 It's crazy that he's been doing it for this long, and I don't think we'll see anyone like 40,000 points even though when I first saw
00:08:22 it
00:08:23 This how stupid my brain is I was like 40,000 points doesn't seem like a lot of points because he's been playing for so long
00:08:28 It's so many goddamn points
00:08:29 It just gets to the point where if you see a number like 40,000 all these numbers are so big that you lose track of
00:08:35 Just how much it is right like 40,000 is an astronomical number
00:08:38 But I had no idea like where he was until he set this milestone like I just assumed
00:08:43 He scored a shitload of points right it was James score of a shitload of points was my metric that I had and I don't
00:08:49 I'm not a huge LeBron James fan, but what I love about LeBron is
00:08:53 How crazy he makes people and how much he contributes?
00:08:57 To the sports media like just screaming at each other culture a lot of people say like oh
00:09:01 I don't like that about sports TV. Yeah, but you watch right. That's the thing and it's entertainment like I love
00:09:07 That's one of my favorite things about sports TV is you just get grown men on stage that get ready
00:09:12 How many people how many people do you think have been?
00:09:15 I'll say killed in a debate that started about LeBron James at least a hand
00:09:20 I would say probably four or five people have died over an argument about whether or not he's good at basketball
00:09:26 That's what I love about LeBron James. He's it's it's insane, and he is like in the history of the NBA as well
00:09:33 When you think about it like the the growth of the NBA
00:09:36 Obviously bird and magic in the 80s took the NBA to a point where it used to be the finals was was tape-delayed in some
00:09:43 parts of the country
00:09:45 MJ
00:09:46 Put the NBA on a completely different level a global level you you know became an icon around the world and then after MJ is like
00:09:54 Well, where do we go now and yeah Kobe was there, but Kobe was also. I think when LeBron was a rookie
00:09:59 I think that was right around Kobe's trial
00:10:01 So LeBron stepped in and has basically carried the NBA for the last 20 years
00:10:07 It's crazy like he is I know that there's been a lot of other superstars
00:10:11 But it's LeBron James has been the focal point of every basically every NBA season for 20 years
00:10:17 And it's insane what he's done
00:10:19 And he's it's not like he's doing it right now at 39 as like an old LeBron like he's not young
00:10:25 He's not the same LeBron at the height of his powers
00:10:28 But that game he had the other night when they came back against the Clippers
00:10:31 And he's like I'm just gonna I'm gonna guard Kawhi and I'm gonna hit a bunch of threes like he's not
00:10:35 He's still very very very good. It's not one of those records where
00:10:41 He's 39 years old he sucks. He's on a bad team, and he's just putting up empty stats
00:10:46 He's still one of the best players in the NBA right now, and it's crazy
00:10:51 It's just nuts to watch it night in and night out
00:10:54 And I know this is all painful for Hank to hear he gave me a little look like dude stop talking about him
00:11:00 But oh they're probably now I'm gonna make the playoffs so they'll sneak in
00:11:03 They'll rig it so he gets to play in the playing game. Well. Here's the what's great about LeBron James
00:11:07 Right if you don't like LeBron James
00:11:09 When he loses in the playoffs you're gonna miss that when he's gone
00:11:12 Yeah, when he retires you're gonna like you might not miss LeBron James in the NBA Hank
00:11:16 But you will very dearly miss like if they get swept in the playoffs this year
00:11:20 The joy that will just course through your body as you get to talk about how funny it is to watch him not win a playoff
00:11:26 Series that that will be something that you will look back on be like fucker
00:11:30 There was really some good times that I had when he stunk also
00:11:32 He will definitely make the play in and could very well likely make the playoffs the the West is like very compact
00:11:39 They're they're six games ahead of the Jazz for the you know the tenth spot
00:11:44 And they're only three games away from the Suns at the sixth spot, so he's gonna be in it's least a play-in game
00:11:51 Yeah, he will yeah, also. You don't need to worry about LeBron this part the Celtics are basically already in now
00:11:57 I would love to play Lakers hey
00:11:58 Can I give you something that you could say that I didn't say because I was trying to be you know nice and not do
00:12:04 a LeBron hate thing because
00:12:06 40,000 points is insanely impressive and I am actually like as a sports fan in awe of what LeBron has accomplished
00:12:12 He's actively trying to get his coach fired well
00:12:13 No, I was gonna give you a little stat that you can just throw around that I didn't say I want credit for not
00:12:17 Saying it not you LeBron James has 40,000 points. He's led the league in scoring once
00:12:23 Mmm, Michael Jordan led the league in scoring ten times interesting. I didn't say it though
00:12:28 I did not say that stat so credit to me for not saying it
00:12:31 But you can tell that to anyone else also just a little stat out there for everyone if
00:12:35 DeMar DeRozan scores
00:12:38 16,998 points next game he'll have as many as LeBron. That's pretty good so
00:12:42 Striking distance it could be possibilities right there. Did you see what his son Brani is saying about his NBA prospects?
00:12:49 He's gonna wait and see right well
00:12:50 He's not he's not basing whether or not he wants to come out of college on his projected draft stock
00:12:55 He's based he's basing it on what teams are interested in so that's interesting so
00:13:01 I'm guessing that just means where his dad is gonna end up yes, that would make sense
00:13:06 I mean he is on a USC team that has been bad this year although I
00:13:11 Might put a future on them to win the Pac-12. They're playing good ball right now
00:13:14 I watched the majority of the game on Saturday against Washington and that the Isaiah Collier is awesome
00:13:20 Took over that game not Brani if Brani jr.
00:13:25 Had done what Isaiah Collier had done it would have actually like taking away the limelight of LeBron James's 40,000
00:13:31 Yeah, cuz he was that good, but yeah, we'll see I mean I
00:13:34 Call me a sucker call me
00:13:37 Maybe soft because I'm a father of three
00:13:39 But I kind of want to see Brani be on LeBron's team because it would just be cool like I saw an old clip the
00:13:44 Other day retweeted on my timeline of Ken Griffey jr.
00:13:47 Hitting a home run and Ken Griffey senior hitting a home run right after yeah, that's fucking awesome. Yeah, they went back-to-back
00:13:52 I still remember where I was when I saw that news like it's
00:13:55 It would be incredible to see LeBron yelling at his son on the same team
00:13:59 It also would kind of suck to be Brani on a team with LeBron because everyone would look at you being like well
00:14:04 You're only here because your dad your dad's the coach sucks. Yeah. Oh much. Yeah
00:14:07 It would do it he actually Brani would finally realize like what it's like for every nepotism
00:14:12 Guy out there working. It's a corporate job being like I'm here because my dad gave me
00:14:17 What's one of the best parts about getting to the NBA? I would imagine you're
00:14:20 1920 21 years old you have millions of dollars of cash
00:14:25 You want to go out and party a little bit? Yeah, you don't want one around
00:14:29 He won't have millions of dollars. Well. He will because he's LeBron. Yeah, you don't you don't want your dad being around
00:14:34 Yeah, I'm say it's like that should I should I I?
00:14:37 Would like to I'd like to podcast long enough to podcast my son
00:14:41 There you go. I'll just have mom when he's like seven in his car
00:14:44 But yeah, it's an incredible performance it made an incredible career incredible moment 40,000 points
00:14:52 And you're right PFT what he is for this for the sports
00:14:57 Ecosystem is incredible because even this like 10-minute segment of sucking LeBron off
00:15:03 There's gonna be some AWL's are like what the fuck. I thought this was a safe space. Why are you guys doing this?
00:15:09 Why are you betraying right now? And then the other ones are like you didn't say it enough
00:15:13 It will piss off people no matter what and that's what LeBron James does for us for everybody out there
00:15:18 That's sick of us glazing LeBron. Here's I have one stat okay LeBron for you guys LeBron
00:15:23 James is the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 points who also sucks
00:15:28 So there you go. Okay boom have that he stinks. Yeah, but he's great and then Caitlin Clark
00:15:36 Yeah, did it to Pete Maravich who Pete Maravich that was that was actually one of those moments where it was incredible for Caitlin Clark
00:15:43 But you know Caitlin Clark has done so much for the women's college basketball game
00:15:46 It was nice to see Pete Maravich get some flowers where everyone went and looked up Pete Maravich stats
00:15:50 And they're like this dude had this many points in three years and no three-point no three-point line the dude was a chucker
00:15:56 He shot he shot the ball, and he was a great passer, too
00:15:59 But he took a lot of five assists a game
00:16:00 He took he took a lot of shots
00:16:02 And he's got some great highlights, too
00:16:03 If you want to go back like every time people are like oh if Kyrie Irving got in the same gym as Bob Cousy
00:16:08 Cousy would just spontaneously combust into flames
00:16:10 Maravich Maravich could play a little bit. Yeah, which could like give some of these guys run for their money
00:16:15 I do think that Victor Wim Benyama like if it would be funny to have
00:16:20 James Naismith like watch a video of him. Yeah, well if he did he'd be like the rim needs to be 15 feet tall
00:16:27 Yeah
00:16:27 and also he's not a
00:16:29 Dream he only would have been able to watch half a season because if James Naismith was still alive
00:16:32 He would have died when he watched the all-star game. Yeah, like this is an abomination mm-hmm, okay?
00:16:37 What else do we got in the sports world? I have some combine notes
00:16:41 I just wanted to congratulate Hank honestly about winning the NBA Finals this year
00:16:44 Oh, yeah, Celtics win by 52 the game was over in the first quarter at the end of the first
00:16:49 It was done. They want to guard you. It was just dominant
00:16:52 It was crazy that it was I think it was 22 21 at one point
00:16:55 And then I looked back at the score and I was like wait the cells are up by 30
00:16:59 Yeah, how did this happen and this is their third win the season of 50 or more points?
00:17:03 No team has ever done that in the history of the NBA 11 in a row is this is this
00:17:08 They have the championship or bust this year. Oh, yeah, it's building to this pen championship or boss
00:17:13 But it really is this year it it has been championship or bust since the season started
00:17:18 I've said oh no no, but I'm saying like the past few seasons. It's it's not been championship or bust
00:17:23 This is the first year. It feels like okay the Celtics have been they've been to a final they've been to some conference finals
00:17:29 You have to win it all this year. Yeah, if you don't it's a failure
00:17:32 It's a bust if there are no injuries and we don't win the championship. Yeah, and you have to get a soul patch, right?
00:17:38 Yeah, no. Yeah, what about a cat named soul patch? Nope. Mmm
00:17:43 Also when they win I will shave my head. Okay, that's fair. Jalen Brunson. I think avoided catastrophic injury
00:17:51 Yeah, so I was talking to memes. Why are you so set about it?
00:17:53 Big I like watching Jalen Brunson play basketball memes was despondent over this you were upset
00:17:58 I was I just said fuck that sucks. Like I listen the Bulls suck. I don't want them to even be in the play
00:18:03 And I I get I love watching basketball. I start thinking about the NBA truly right after March Madness
00:18:10 Jalen Brunson is one of those guys that I love watching play basketball the way he commands a game the way he like
00:18:16 Can control a game from the point guard position? He's a throwback
00:18:19 So I was legitimately bummed when I saw that he was hurt and potentially out for the rest of year
00:18:23 I want to watch him play playoff basketball the way that the play looked sorry for sorry for liking
00:18:28 Jalen Brunson, I'm just as I just know
00:18:30 V's up right max V's up. Everybody was saying like I'm V's up
00:18:34 It looked like it was not a contact injury and it looked like it was something real bad
00:18:39 Yeah real bad because it almost looked like he heard it when he was taking off like he grabbed like his leg did a weird
00:18:45 Movement in midair. He's like, oh fuck I'm hurt then he like falls down twice gets carried off the court
00:18:50 Everybody was like, oh shit. This is an Achilles. This is maybe I don't know ACL or some sort of fracture and then they say
00:18:57 Oh, he's got a he has a knee contusion. Yeah, so I told memes I was like, that's good news memes
00:19:02 It's good news that Jalen Brunson appears to have avoided catastrophic injury, but also
00:19:07 kind of a bitch Oh
00:19:09 Bitch cuz to fall down to a guy to fall down toys a tough guy
00:19:14 I've had some catastrophic foot injuries and I haven't missed a podcast. He's a dog
00:19:18 Memes are you okay now? Do you think it's gonna be okay? It would have been another Fleming curse. Yeah
00:19:25 We're all the way back now. Okay, we're all the way back. So he's fine. He's fine. I do I did type in
00:19:30 Achilles right away because it reminded me of Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, I think he bumped knees on the screen and
00:19:36 You know, I just love whenever the the doctors come out of the woodwork like oh
00:19:41 He just hit this nerve that makes your knee like feel like it's dead for a minute. It's a nerd
00:19:46 Yeah, I peroneal or so according to me
00:19:48 He just hit this nerve that I looked up ten seconds ago and I'm now an expert. Is it a peroneal?
00:19:52 I don't know a parochial no, but said someone said peroneal nerve
00:19:56 I've learned all my science from injuries and then finding out googling the person's name instantly
00:20:03 Yeah, that's that's how I know about the human anatomy. Yeah, so I guess he I guess he's okay
00:20:08 He's probably not gonna miss much much time. But at the moment Knicks fans were like, well, there it goes
00:20:13 Yeah, we're so happy so excited
00:20:15 I mean the Knicks aren't gonna win
00:20:16 They're not gonna go to the final or anything because I just don't think they will but I want to see Jalen Brunson play playoff
00:20:22 Basketball. Yeah, cuz he is one of those dogs. I want to see the garden play playoff basketball
00:20:26 Yeah, it was I went to a game last year is electric the Mecca
00:20:29 Okay other things in well, I I've I don't think I can make a future bet on this because the price isn't great
00:20:37 But I just think the Nugs are gonna win again. Yeah, it feels like for it
00:20:40 It feels like it feels like they're just it's back-to-back. There's a lot of fun stuff
00:20:44 Going on in the league right now a lot of a lot of teams that you want to say can win
00:20:48 The Clippers the Clippers actually might be able to win. I'll tell you why here's why the Clippers might be able to beat the Nuggets
00:20:54 because tonight
00:20:56 James Harden, I think he had four points. Yeah went 0 for 10 shooting
00:21:00 Vintage James Harden in the playoffs mode. Yeah, and they won. Okay, so maybe they're they're learning how to win with playoff James in
00:21:09 the regular season the extent of the Clippers discussion could just be like they got to stay healthy because they have all the
00:21:14 They have all the health guys. Yeah, like they're healthiest guy Russell Westbrook broke his hand and they've got that's the one guy you could
00:21:20 Could you know say he's not gonna get hurt. They've got weird health guys, too
00:21:24 Yeah, why with mystery injuries quite just saying quiet just sitting on the bench and like yeah, he's out for the next three years
00:21:31 We don't know why yeah, he's unplugged right now. So he doesn't have battery
00:21:35 So he can't be in so yeah, why weird injury guy Paul George, I guess he says I'm weirding
00:21:41 Yes, he said weird. He's pretty healthy. I count him when he is injured. It's usually in a weird way
00:21:46 Yeah, and and then James Harden who's sometimes just too fat to play. It's it's injury
00:21:52 laziness injury laziness
00:21:55 Strip club. Yeah, no dog. No dog. No dog
00:21:58 but but if they can win with James Harden scoring four points and I think their bench was the
00:22:03 Part of the team that carried them tonight. I was looking at the the box score
00:22:07 I think that every starter had negative in plus minus and four out of the five guys were double digits in
00:22:13 In minus and so their bench came on so maybe maybe the Clippers maybe it's the Clippers here
00:22:18 Okay, no Nuggets Hank since we're doing NBA talk who scares you the most in the East
00:22:24 Box pep-up. Yeah, not the heat. No, never what I mean what happened last year
00:22:33 Different team, okay never is a red. It never is a crazy thing to say about the heat and they're not they're doing the same
00:22:39 Thing they do every year where they have not been good. Now. They're starting to play well and it was like, oh here they come
00:22:45 I'm not worried about the heat. I am worried about the books. Okay?
00:22:49 Yeah, just cuz you honest at any point could physically decide. Hey, I'm bigger and stronger
00:22:53 I feel like we've just been robbed to of
00:22:56 Getting to laugh at and bead running out of gas in the playoffs again. No, he's gonna be back though
00:23:01 Is he yeah, I think so max was excited about that. I
00:23:04 Think he's gonna be back, but I feel like we've been robbed like that. It sucks
00:23:08 Yeah, it kind of feels well once he realized he wasn't gonna get MVP just kind of quit
00:23:12 The game that he got hurt in there was never been a guy who was more hurt playing that game that's true
00:23:20 I saw Kirk all the six on their last two games too big two big wins do Irish Max
00:23:25 He's a beast. I saw Kirk Coles where a good friend had a graphic. We have that we have a MVP problem with Americans
00:23:32 We don't win them MVPs anymore. Is that true? We have not won an MVP this this decade since 29 2018
00:23:38 We haven't won an MVP and I don't know where our next MVP is coming. Hey, Jason Tatum Jason Tatum's got a step up
00:23:43 Well, he's playing he's playing team basketball. He's not doing the you know, but if who would you yeah
00:23:48 Who would you expect to win the next MVP Cooper flag or Tatum?
00:23:54 Tatum should win but Luca probably will because Luca has the staff will and the European bias, right?
00:23:59 That's what I'm saying. The European bias and be it's in bead. It's yo kitch twice and Giannis. Yeah, I honest twice. So
00:24:07 Yeah, we need to we need to take back the MVP. How are we gonna do this boys Cooper flag?
00:24:12 It's Cooper flag. Yeah, the answer to every basketball problem is Cooper flag
00:24:15 It doesn't help that that the euros got an alien that's playing basketball in San Antonio
00:24:20 I know I would love to just somehow wipe the next two years of
00:24:24 Cooper playing at Duke out of my memory. Yeah right now. I love Cooper
00:24:28 Yeah, I love Cooper flag
00:24:29 but he will get he'll get a weird haircut when he goes there and you're gonna hate his face and he's gonna be on TV
00:24:35 All the time and then he's gonna do something very Duke like while he's there
00:24:38 Then the Brotherhood is gonna step in and defend him
00:24:40 Yeah, and he's gonna get that stank J. Billis is gonna stand on the table for him. I wanted oh, man
00:24:45 I wanted so bad last night for even though I don't like Alabama basketball
00:24:49 I wanted them to win and rush the court because JBS was calling that game by the way Hank
00:24:54 Congrats, it's Kyle Filipowski
00:24:57 I actually think we should take away Joe Flacco's comeback player of the year and give it to Kyle Filipowski right retroactively to go from a
00:25:04 catastrophic ankle knee soreness injury just seven days ago and then do windmill dunks like
00:25:11 forget tomorrow Hamlin Kyle Filipowski is the real
00:25:15 The real story take notes Jalen. I mean he that was insane dude. He's a hero. He's a hero also Sunday motivation
00:25:23 I posted it's like the it's it's it's one thing to
00:25:26 To have something like that happen where it's like I think the doctor said he Kyle Filipowski may never walk again
00:25:32 And then just seven days later
00:25:34 He's windmill dunking. It's just I don't know
00:25:37 I also crazy
00:25:38 I honestly think that that gives some hope to Hank for being able to dunk if Kyle Filipowski can battle back from that injury
00:25:45 Hank you're basically fully healthy right now. Imagine what you can do on this body. That's true. Maybe we should
00:25:51 Storm the court on Hank. Oh
00:25:53 Nobody out there Google what happened after the Clemson Duke football game when Duke beat them
00:26:00 Oh, nobody Google that and see what the fans did to the field
00:26:03 Mmm, I don't want people to look that up because it could it could have devastating consequences. Oh, no J. Billis. Oh, no
00:26:10 That'll be bad
00:26:12 By the way in college basketball, I told Max before this but I've done it again. I
00:26:16 bet on Villanova
00:26:18 150 to 1 I
00:26:20 looked at the prices
00:26:22 What's a what's a way I could win half a million dollars Oh Villanova
00:26:27 They probably won't even make the tournament. Yeah, that's not true. They're - 240 to make the turn. Oh, let's go
00:26:31 Okay, make the tournament or the first four
00:26:33 What happens if they play Wisconsin the first four Wisconsin's bad they sink and say it's over
00:26:39 I'm not even they've they've actually done me a favor of just getting it to such a bad level where I'm
00:26:44 Are they gonna make the tournament? Yeah, they still will they're actually I think one of eight teams in the country to not
00:26:51 Well, they probably don't have a winning record anymore in quad one two, but they don't have any quad three or four losses
00:26:57 So not too shabby. I'm now quad three four losses, baby
00:27:02 I love the quad system when it works in your favor because it's basically I was like
00:27:06 How is Michigan not a quad three or four loss if it's a way?
00:27:10 The team if you play away the team has to be ranked like outside of like
00:27:14 250 net ranking which is hard to do. That's very hard. Oh, so I'm just gonna be gone
00:27:21 We just fucking banging the table for the quads. I'm all on board with the Tennessee Volunteers. Yeah, they're really good
00:27:26 I'm officially all in they've got an impressive win by that and it was two impressive wins back-to-back Auburn and Alabama
00:27:32 Yeah, Auburn's not I don't but they still got as much of a Alabama at home is a fucking beast
00:27:38 They still came from behind against Auburn and then they came from behind against Alabama then they have
00:27:42 South Carolina, which is gonna be tough and then Kentucky which is gonna be there ending the SEC schedule like that
00:27:47 Oh hardest that you can do hundred. Oh, it's gonna be awesome
00:27:50 And I'm gonna bet the over and it's gonna be great
00:27:52 And I think I think Rick Barnes, I think this is the year for Rick Barnes the year Ricky B
00:27:57 Yeah, we're getting ready for March. It feels good feels real good
00:28:01 Okay, anything else in bass? Well, I had a couple combine notes

00:29:26 Okay, combine notes. Here's what I have for you. JJ McCarthy missed a lot of throws. Yeah, JJ McCarthy's that one guy
00:29:33 There's always one dude every single year that the further away they get from playing football the better of a football player
00:29:39 They become mm-hmm JJ McCarthy isn't now being talked about going in the top five
00:29:43 Yeah, top six even though he then went and missed a lot of throw even though it doesn't matter doesn't matter doesn't matter because the tape
00:29:49 You can throw the tape out forget the system. He played in college what you saw at the combine throw that out
00:29:54 They just think that he's got the skill set. It's it's it's
00:29:58 work to his advantage
00:30:01 That he wasn't asked to do a ton at Michigan because what he was asked to do
00:30:06 He did very very well
00:30:07 And they won a lot of games in a national title my what I'm putting a lot of stock in this year is the footage
00:30:11 That's coming out of the players practicing warming up in the hallways. Yeah, Michael Penix. Michael Penix was throwing dimes
00:30:18 JJ McCarthy was thrown to Blake Coram and throwing absolute seeds to him
00:30:22 So I feel like that is the new like the scouts are behind the scenes watching them warm up in the hotel lobbies
00:30:26 Yes, like this guy's got all the tools. Okay, so that yeah, I agree with you that there although the the couple throws
00:30:33 I saw were there was two throws that he would though. He was just like air mailed it and just missed a guy on a easy
00:30:38 15 yard out
00:30:40 the next note I had
00:30:42 This is a really dumb thought because we watch college football all year
00:30:47 We know these guys then they come out and they do the combine and we have to remember
00:30:51 I think Pete Prisco put it perfectly the tape the tape the tape the tape. Uh-huh. You got to watch the tape
00:30:56 Joe Milton's a franchise quarterback. Yeah, that fucking throw was so awesome. Yes, I said if I'm a GM
00:31:04 I'm drafting this guy 1-1 overall and that's the thing with Joe Milton is like
00:31:09 You will fuck all you need to know about Joe Milton and the most impressive tape out there besides this one pass
00:31:14 I had today which was like 75 yards half a step into it and he said like he was like bang. Yeah
00:31:21 Go back and watch Joe Milton before the Orange Bowl before last season's Orange Bowl. It's Tennessee against Clemson
00:31:29 It's the orangest Orange Bowl ever. They asked Joe to throw an orange as far as he could he threw an orange 106 yards
00:31:36 Yeah, that's the only stat that I need this man can throw fruit farther than anybody else that's ever lived
00:31:41 Give me that guy. He can't throw for fucking you got no chance to complete a pass 20 yards and in
00:31:48 But holy shit if he's got to throw it 70 yards
00:31:51 He's your guy. Why wouldn't a team because now don't we have the expanded rosters with the quarterbacks?
00:31:57 Why wouldn't you take Joe Milton and be like, he's just our designated Hail Mary guy. He's our third down quarterback
00:32:02 Yeah, like air it out. Worst case scenario. You just punted the ball 77 yards
00:32:06 I want him to be good so bad, but I've watched so much Joe Milton both at Michigan and Tennessee to know that
00:32:12 That's not the case. But still when he throws that ball like he did at the combine. I'm like this fucking guy
00:32:18 Rocks. Yeah, and he has it if if football was played with an orange Joe Milton would be the best person to ever step on
00:32:25 If no one would see it coming if you took Joe bears, I don't want you to do this, but
00:32:29 No one would see it coming
00:32:32 Just take you'd sneak attack the whole league if we took Joe Milton number one and his name's bazooka Joe
00:32:37 Yeah, Joe Milton rocks. I want to see him in the league. I want to see him. Fuck it
00:32:41 Just like have it if your team's not gonna be very good just have him tank for you
00:32:46 But at least he's gonna throw some bombs. Yeah, it'd be fun
00:32:48 Xavier worthy broke the record for four to 140. That was pretty cool. It was very cool. Yeah fast
00:32:56 John Brown was the guy that had the record beforehand. I believe was it right?
00:33:01 I think it was John Brown from the Giants and he John Ross John Ross John Ross
00:33:04 Yeah, John Ross from from University of Washington. That's right was that's another one where I'm like, how can you not draft that guy?
00:33:11 Yeah, John Brown run everyone did the Harper's Ferry raid very close guys. So I
00:33:16 Again, I see that guy run and I think to myself
00:33:19 Well, there's two teams that are gonna get him one very easy the Raiders
00:33:24 Yep, it's gonna be the the Ouija board that they keep in the war room
00:33:27 They're gonna ask Al Davis who to draft and it's gonna say Xavier
00:33:31 the second team the Chiefs
00:33:34 You know the Chiefs are gonna get a guy like that and the and we're gonna be like how did we let that guy go?
00:33:39 To the Chiefs. Yeah, and and for Xavier worthy
00:33:42 It's it's the difference between being out of the league in three years or winning four Super Bowls and everyone's saying you're one of the best
00:33:49 Receivers ever. Yeah, that's all that that is like get it. No pressure Xavier worthy get a Chiefs tattoo right now
00:33:55 Tap it on your forehead. Yeah, the Raiders don't take you get have have arch or
00:34:00 Archie Manning
00:34:02 Legally adopt you and then have him hold the league, you know hostage and be like we're only going to the Chiefs
00:34:08 We're going to the Chiefs owner the Chiefs. There's a couple other big things that happened at the combine this weekend
00:34:12 The first was Tyler Owens. Yeah from Texas Tech
00:34:15 So he said that he doesn't believe in space. I don't believe in space. I'm real religious. So I think we're alone right now
00:34:22 I don't think there's other planets and other stuff like that. I
00:34:25 Don't believe in Tyler Owens because I watched this clip and he had a smirk on his face
00:34:30 He knew it felt like he was knew what he was doing because now we're talking about Tyler Owens and he was being talked about
00:34:35 When he said it
00:34:37 I'm on to you Tyler Owens. I don't believe in you. So the fact that he motherfuckers not real
00:34:41 So he goes on to explain I used to believe in the heliocentric thing
00:34:46 Like we used to revolve around Ryan Russell the Sun and stuff
00:34:49 So the fact that he said the fact that he knew the word heliocentric and used it correctly
00:34:55 Tells me he actually knows what space is and he believes in it. That's NBA though. You might be an NBA fan
00:35:01 What do you mean? That's a lot a lot of NBA
00:35:04 Passers talk about helio heliocentric basketball like Luca is a heliocentric basketball player where it all revolves around him
00:35:11 But he defined it
00:35:12 he said like we used to revolve around the Sun and stuff and then the rest of
00:35:15 And Luca and then I started seeing flat-earth stuff and I was like that's kind of interesting and they started bringing up some valid points
00:35:23 Yeah, so I don't know. I actually think it it's not a bad thing to say that you don't believe in space
00:35:28 You don't believe in
00:35:29 In the round-earth theory if you want to get a free ride on a rocket ship because there's always one guy where NASA's like
00:35:35 Yeah, fuck you. We'll show you we'll take you up to space. You can get a look at it
00:35:39 Like yeah, you know what? I I also believe that space is fake NASA prove help help me prove myself wrong
00:35:45 but
00:35:46 Like you and Xavier were the the usually the guys who say they don't believe in space are scared of heights and don't want to go
00:35:52 There that's not true. There's it's a completely different scenario. Not afraid of flying not afraid of being inside of a tall building
00:35:58 I just don't like being out in the open out and you don't think you'd get a little fucked up looking out at space
00:36:03 No
00:36:03 I don't think the difference in like between being 510 which I am and being like 6 feet tall is big enough to
00:36:09 Like have an impact of me being
00:36:11 70,000 feet. I don't know man. I saw you on the Empire State Building
00:36:15 I know it's and every time I think about it, I start to sweat
00:36:18 So I got I went out and I got the Apple vision Pro, which I might return because there's really no real reason to use it
00:36:25 Yeah, um, it's
00:36:26 Can I just say this and I know this isn't like this isn't why you bought it?
00:36:30 But I think that anyone who buys the Apple vision Pro who's not a nerd is a porn guy
00:36:35 You can't watch porn on it. That's the thing though
00:36:37 Allegedly nice that you're smart smart to say it that way. Look it up. Look it up
00:36:43 It was like all anybody wrote about before the Apple vision Pro came out sure and you haven't found a way through it
00:36:47 You can't watch porn. I've put it on three times
00:36:50 One time I watched Warner. No, no, no, no non porn
00:36:53 I've watched the Patriots documentary on it and I sat in the middle Joshua tree and it was a outstanding immersive experience
00:36:59 And the other the second one that I did they have like an immersive
00:37:04 Highline walking video that you can be in we're in like above the fjords in Norway and you look down into the sides and shit
00:37:11 Fuck you up that fucked me up and I was like, I'm taking this back. Yeah, bring it in
00:37:14 I want to see it. Well, I don't have flight simulators on there. Not yet
00:37:17 No, that's what I asked. I I bought it and then after the person handed it to me
00:37:21 I was like these things got flight sims on there yet, and he was like no
00:37:25 But there's a lot of exciting new apps that will be coming out soon
00:37:27 Can you bring it in so I can yeah test it out see if you can watch porn on yeah
00:37:31 I'm gonna I'll find a way to watch okay. Absolutely go back door. Yeah. Yeah. No, I got listen
00:37:36 We got ways to watch porn on this that all all technology advances are led by porn
00:37:42 That's a fact it is a fact so or like find a way or the NBA that tries to bring back
00:37:48 3d basketball games every single year and everyone's like this sucks
00:37:51 Yeah, the problem with a with a vision Pro is anytime you wear it. You just you're an absolute nerd
00:37:56 It's it's the most anti social
00:37:58 Yeah
00:37:59 thing that you can ever do because you just put it on and then you sit down and I'm like
00:38:02 Making pinching motions and dragging stuff around jerking off and Blake sitting next to me on the couch
00:38:07 Like what the fuck are you doing? Yeah, it looks like you're just is there something flying around the room? Yeah, so he hates it
00:38:13 So I'm probably gonna take it back. Okay, we were oh, we were still in calm. Oh, yeah
00:38:17 I got another combine. Yeah, Tyler Owens. Yeah, I'd end
00:38:20 He says that he keeps his hands strong by massaging cows
00:38:25 So he works on a farm pervert and he'll just massage a cow's back for hours on end to strengthen his hands up
00:38:31 What happened to the good old rice bucket? I don't know. This is a new rice bucket. Okay, and then the leather bucket
00:38:36 Yeah, and then we also had the Wyoming guy with the mullet who ran like a 5040. Yeah awesome lineman. He looks cool
00:38:43 Yeah, that that's how I would if I was a NFL GM. I would only I wouldn't watch any of the tape
00:38:49 I just watched the combine I'd have the Wyoming guy blocking for Joe Milton throwing it to Xavier worthy
00:38:55 Super Bowl tell me how you stopped. How do you stop that? That's a that's a championship team
00:39:00 Okay, speaking of championship teams Henry. Yep
00:39:05 so
00:39:07 dynasty
00:39:08 We've been watching the Patriots documentary it's six episodes in the last two episodes were Tom Brady's
00:39:15 2008 ACL and then Aaron Hernandez
00:39:20 Before you give us your number one Patriot of all time actually just give it to us Brady. Okay, that was great
00:39:26 This documentary I
00:39:29 Think it's having the reverse effect that that Robert Kraft thought it was gonna have he he
00:39:36 He planned this documentary to get into the Hall of Fame, and it's so clearly slanted towards Robert Kraft
00:39:42 but it's so so slanted towards Robert Kraft that it's completely making me hate Robert Kraft and
00:39:47 Unnecessarily like they're going over the top to slant it. They blamed Aaron Hernandez on Bill Belichick
00:39:54 Yeah, and basically made it like Robert Kraft was trying to save him one piece
00:39:59 It was crazy that white glossed over Robert Kraft telling the story about how after Aaron Hernandez had killed Odin Lloyd
00:40:06 he went into the
00:40:07 Little locker room and saw him working out Aaron Hernandez and was like tell me if you did it if you did it will find
00:40:13 The best lawyer in the world he was basically like just let me know that if you're a murderer will defend you well
00:40:18 He said Aaron
00:40:20 Tell me did you do it?
00:40:21 Because if you did it and you had a really good reason to do it then I trust you and I'll get you the best
00:40:26 Defense attorney possible to get you off right and and that's crazy
00:40:29 So he was and then he he was upset with Aaron when Aaron lied to him about
00:40:34 Being in like Rhode Island the day of it
00:40:36 But it was very clearly like Robert Kraft was very close with Aaron Hernandez the entire time and when they talk about the trade
00:40:44 That Aaron wanted from Belichick and he wanted to go to the west coast and Belichick said no
00:40:50 they definitely pointed at that and said Bill Belichick is responsible for like the murder of
00:40:55 The globe guy basically said that which is crazy because Aaron Hernandez had already committed a murder to double murder double murder allegedly
00:41:03 He well, he's not guilty though. Yeah, that's true
00:41:06 He did that she did that and
00:41:08 Bill Belichick did what every NFL coach in the in the league would have done being like why would I trade this?
00:41:14 Incredible tight end that we drafted who has been like just ripping up the league
00:41:19 He's three years into his career and I told him do you need help? Do you need the personal security?
00:41:24 He said no, I want to trade. Why would you trade him if he's gonna be vague about it?
00:41:29 so that this entire documentary though is like
00:41:32 Robert Kraft trying to basically take all the credit for the Patriots success
00:41:38 Holding Bill Belichick hostage in these interviews because he was like I'm not talking about this
00:41:43 I can't even believe Bill Belichick sat down for this. He's got to be mad. There's no way that
00:41:47 But I don't have those are coming out the way he thought what going to who Belichick Kraft?
00:41:51 Oh, no, I think Belichick knows exactly how these were gonna come across
00:41:54 I think he knows when he sat down that it was gonna be a Robert Kraft spin zone
00:41:58 And I think he banked on the people having a brain in their skull like us and watching it and being like
00:42:04 What is Robert Kraft doing?
00:42:05 Do you think that Bill Belichick would have ever sat down for these interviews if they had filmed them after the scene was over and after?
00:42:11 He was no longer the coach because I don't think he would have I think probably no
00:42:14 I think they filmed it obviously when he was the coach and
00:42:16 Robert Kraft was like hey, I want you to sit down for this interview. He was like, okay
00:42:20 But it's so over-the-top slanted towards Robert Kraft that everyone is watching it being like this is clearly like almost
00:42:28 Propaganda at this point and I don't believe it and they're not letting Belichick like Belichick was smart actually how he did it
00:42:35 He's just not part. He's participating in the fact that he's sitting there
00:42:39 But he's not actually participating in any of it because he's just giving non answers and he's letting the world decide and the world is
00:42:47 Deciding that they're just basically doing a hit piece on Bill Belichick. Yeah, he's there to talk football
00:42:52 They're they're not really showing a lot of right right last two episodes have had like no football because whatsoever
00:42:58 Who is responsible for the football success is Bill Belichick and Tom Brady?
00:43:02 Robert Kraft is responsible for the organization
00:43:05 So they basically been like let's do a documentary about Robert Kraft and call it Patriots Dynast and they basically did the whole Matt
00:43:10 Castle episode to be like, yeah, Bill Belichick was a good coach
00:43:12 He got them, you know to 11 and 5 just so they could absolutely rip them down in the next one, right?
00:43:16 Yeah, it's weird is that thing is we'll hold Mac like that Matt Castle episode
00:43:20 It's a it's called dynasty like good season whatever 11 and 5 they didn't make the playoffs in the 20-year
00:43:27 Dynasty run that was one of a few seasons to not make the playoffs. Why highlight an entire episode on that?
00:43:32 Well, so the only thing I'll say about that is you can't do the entire
00:43:37 Documentary just being like we won and then we won again and then we won again
00:43:41 Just because it's not that interesting you have to show the low points
00:43:44 But you're they showed two Super Bowls in 10 minutes and then they did I know epsilon Matt Castle for Aaron Hernandez
00:43:50 I agree
00:43:50 They didn't show any of the run-up of them getting back to the Super Bowl against the Giants
00:43:54 No, it was like blah blah blah the Giants beat us again in the Super Bowl, right?
00:43:58 Also crazy part with the Matt Castle miss field gold in the AFC Championship, but it is Ravens game was crazy
00:44:04 There was a lot of crazy games in in those seasons. They did show some good football. I take it I take it back
00:44:10 They showed some good football in the Matt Castle episode
00:44:12 There was some interesting stuff about how they used him in a different way than they used Tom Brady
00:44:16 But one of the craziest parts that I never knew when Tom Brady tours ACL. Yes. He tried to come back and play
00:44:23 He goes out on the practice field. He's like fuck it. Just tape my knee up
00:44:27 I'm gonna play an entire season on a torn ACL
00:44:30 Yes, and then the training staff had to pull him aside and be like Tom you cannot do this
00:44:34 that was not but it goes to show you like Tom Brady was definitely thinking I
00:44:38 I could very easily lose my job due to this and yeah injury the same way that bled so lost is to mine
00:44:44 But crazy that he like went out there. He showed up to work the next week like no, I'm still the quarterback tape it up
00:44:50 Yeah, no, that was that was nuts. I thought the same thing
00:44:53 I was like that's insane that he tried to do it
00:44:55 But Hank like you can't do the documentary and just show the good stuff, but I agree
00:45:00 They just don't they've slanted it so far to just the bad stuff and just the bad Belichick stuff where it's like
00:45:07 Spy like it's been four loss overs with every little football
00:45:11 I gate bill Belichick basically was holding Aaron Hernandez hand when he shot Odin Lloyd like it's crazy
00:45:17 It's I think it's having the reverse effect though. I think anyone who's watching it. Who's who's watching with like just unbiased perspective
00:45:25 I'm watching it and being like this is so slanted towards Robert Kraft. He looks like a dick
00:45:30 I think I think they're gonna they're gonna yada yada yada the second dynasty - and then focus on the Belichick
00:45:37 Brewery, it's gonna get a lot. Yeah
00:45:42 Well the the one of the thumbnails is Belichick and it says like Belichick
00:45:47 Everyone's mad cuz Belichick, you know keeps a player out of a big game which
00:45:52 Malcolm Butler, but like how are they gonna talk about that? I don't know
00:45:56 I I don't know how they're gonna dress up at 28 to 3 is gonna have an entire episode
00:46:00 All right
00:46:00 So here are the only not the program that game the Patriots came back 28 to 3 that would actually that'd be very funny if they
00:46:05 Were doing a story about the dynasty of the Patriots and they spent like 30 seconds on that football game
00:46:10 So episode 7 is deflate gate. It's under pressure and it says it's basically deflate gate
00:46:15 Episode 8 is score to settle with Jimmy Garoppolo nipping at his heels and a coach that may not have his back Brady stage is one
00:46:21 of the greatest
00:46:22 Comebacks in sports history. So that's gonna be Brady vs
00:46:26 Belichick breaking point is tensions boil over when Belichick makes a questionable decision on the biggest stage
00:46:30 That's Malcolm Butler endgame after a decade-long run the dynasty crumbles. So yeah, this is just this is just no
00:46:37 Pro Belichick whatsoever. No Malcolm Butler like because it's it's again. It's deflate gate Jimmy Garoppolo
00:46:44 Belichick benching Malcolm Butler and then the end of the dynasty so I think that most people that understand the
00:46:52 complexities behind how the documentary was set up would probably take that same point of view but I think
00:46:58 99% of people that watch it or just gonna be like wow
00:47:01 Belichick's a real dick because they don't they don't understand that. It's like a Robert Kraft documentary
00:47:06 I think though like an unbiased view that that does not have any idea how this whole thing was set up
00:47:12 Yes, watch it and there
00:47:14 Hernandez
00:47:16 When it flipped for me
00:47:17 but he comes off as such a dick because he's not answering the questions and he's basically saying
00:47:21 Like I don't want to talk about any of the things that you're discussing the documentary
00:47:24 people that don't know how this interview was set up and how like the
00:47:29 Dynamics behind Kraft and Belichick are gonna watch and be like, yeah coach is just a dick
00:47:33 Yeah, but this is these are NFL fair a dick in a murderer. Yeah, but these are NFL fans
00:47:38 They know who Belichick is
00:47:39 I just maybe we're maybe because we we cover the NFL and we know all these stories so well
00:47:44 But I just I just watch it. I'm like that that Aaron Hernandez episode was crazy to me
00:47:49 Yeah, it's crazy. If you're gonna call one coach a murderer, it should be urban Meyer
00:47:53 Yeah in that situation and they kind of glossed over that they did fixer
00:47:57 There were like three things that happened to Aaron when he was at Florida that they did not discuss. Yeah, you know fixer
00:48:02 Yeah, they had a falling they brought up a fixer
00:48:04 Basically saying we had a lawyer that would just pay people off to drop charges. Yeah. Yeah. Who's your honorable mention Aaron Hernandez? Oh
00:48:12 If they're gonna give him a full episode. Yeah
00:48:15 Well, I also want to Gronk like they're like Gronk got drafted Aaron Hernandez the story of Gronk getting in trouble within five minutes
00:48:22 It's great. That is funny. Yeah, because he was dancing on the stage too long
00:48:25 And I got her he Gronk it off even even the draft shots
00:48:29 Where it's like they're making sure that Robert crafts in all of these videos
00:48:33 It's just crazy to me Ernie Adams, by the way is the star of it
00:48:37 Oh, just cuz every time he opens his mouth is great for sure the star
00:48:40 Well, he also said the Seattle thing like that. No one else said we should have traded him to the Seattle Seahawks
00:48:45 I remember that screw that in there. I remember that story. No way. It was happening might have been happening
00:48:50 Didn't don't you remember that story was happening? I mean, I'll never forget the when we were Zoltan Mesko
00:48:55 Yeah, we were with Zoltan Mesko single time the day that Aaron Hernandez got arrested with like the helicopter
00:49:01 We were filming a picture with in the white shirt and orange shorts. We were filming a punt video not too far from Foxboro and
00:49:07 We saw the helicopter helicopter were like hey, this is Aaron Hernandez like cuz obviously was leading up to it
00:49:14 He was he had been questioning all that stuff and he just was like, yeah, that dude's pretty crazy
00:49:20 Like I mean even the Wes Welker story. Yeah, like Walker everyone in the locker room knew
00:49:25 Yeah, Wes Welker being like he's gonna say some fucked up shit. Just ignore it
00:49:29 He's gonna he's gonna stand up and like jack off at his own locker. He's gonna say the most outlandish shit
00:49:34 I wanted more examples of like what's the weird over the line stuff that he was saying at the time that everybody knew about
00:49:39 But the on branch even said when he was like, I I should have known like yeah
00:49:42 It seems like Aaron Hernandez was basically talking about like people in the locker room
00:49:48 But that should have been everyone in the locker room knew like like Zoltan Mesko did not blink
00:49:52 Yeah, but that the thing is not every not every guy who has issues ends up being a murderer
00:49:58 But this happens in every locker room in America because it's if a guy is that good he gets excused for things
00:50:05 And it's like well, he's weird, but he scores touchdowns
00:50:07 I'd also like to take this opportunity to educate our audience about something if you did watch the documentary you were misled about a pretty
00:50:14 Significant fact that we want to correct here. They said that Aaron Hernandez was the first serial killer in the history of the NFL
00:50:21 That's not true. That's not true. There's a man by the name of Randall Woodfield that played for who or who the Green Bay Packer
00:50:29 Played for the Green Bay Packers. I believe in the 70s. He's also known as the i5 killer
00:50:35 He killed they suspect up to 41 people Wow
00:50:39 And that's all on the hands of the Packers for every owner. He killed 41 people for the Packers
00:50:45 He killed 41 people. He was the pack. He was a Packer
00:50:48 I don't know if that was his job at the time if it sounds like you like your roster spot. Yeah was knife
00:50:53 but he killed up to 41 people and
00:50:56 Yeah, so he is the only
00:50:59 Serial killer in the history of the NFL because Hernandez's convictions got vacated because he was appealing them when he offed himself. Yeah
00:51:07 Bad guy for sure Aaron Hernandez. Oh, this is a sentence the rookie symposium when Chris. Oh, yeah
00:51:14 You guys are smoking that Kush. You're gonna keep smoking that cushion. Hell. Yeah. Yeah, that was kind of funny
00:51:20 It's always funny to just looking back ten years
00:51:23 And he was like sitting next to the Pouncey brothers like 15 years ago in America
00:51:27 If you smoked weed people be like you might kill somebody. Yeah. Yeah, they I think that was the Chris Carter fall guy
00:51:34 Symposium yeah, I got under a lot of shit for being like you should have a fall guy
00:51:38 They should have probably showed that part Aaron Hernandez
00:51:42 They should have showed air Chris Carter saying that Aaron Hernandez sleeping during it. Mm-hmm. I'm like, well, you know fall guy
00:51:48 Yeah, that Boston Globe guys
00:51:50 Unbelievable unbelief like shocking quote the guy that he was one that said Belichick
00:51:54 Basically murdered. Yeah and Robert Kraft being like we let down the whole community like basically trying to
00:52:02 He they set it up so perfectly like Belichick killed him and then Robert Kraft
00:52:06 Apologizing to and Jonathan Kraft being like I couldn't wait. I had to cut him. Yeah
00:52:10 Okay, this is crazy the whole thing. That was nuts
00:52:14 Okay, let's get you who's back and then we have Dan Quinn great interview with Dan Quinn
00:52:19 Who's back of the week

00:52:57 The weather has been incredible this weekend. We had some 60 degrees sunny days in Chicago. That is
00:53:02 Coors light drinking season. Oh, yeah, I felt it. I felt it. Okay, Hank. You're who's back the week
00:53:08 Um, who's back in the week is March?
00:53:10 It is yeah, this is March 13 years ago. Yep. I had this
00:53:15 Engagement party in March. I was unable to attend
00:53:18 He was angry and the relationship was never the same, but I always felt that he wasn't truly a great guy
00:53:24 Then Kemba Walker happened. Mm-hmm. Life always has a fine life always has a way of working itself out
00:53:30 Yeah, that is from John Rothstein. I had that as well on my who's back
00:53:35 I'm gonna say something crazy. I mean, I think John Ross teens right here
00:53:39 Engagement party is a joke got four guys four guys. Yeah, that's a fucking joke
00:53:46 It's an engagement party just for like a guy or a girl. I would assume it's for both of them, right?
00:53:51 You have a wedding. Yeah. Yeah, that's it's an optional engagement party is the most optional thing in the world
00:53:57 The engagement party is a fucking bullshit thing that no one should even have or be invited to
00:54:04 John Rothstein deserves credit here. He made the right choice Kemba Walker happened. Why are you shaking your head max?
00:54:10 I'm not I'm not okay. Yeah, cuz yeah, you agree get engagement parties are a joke
00:54:18 Yeah, no, I don't care about engagement. No one should it's just another way for the bride to be to show off to all our friends
00:54:24 Who aren't engaged yet? Look I got one and get gifts
00:54:27 parties is like if someone gets engaged you tell all your friends around let's go to a bar let's yes, let's let's have
00:54:35 Sure, you go out for a beer
00:54:36 Like that's it and if someone doesn't show up, especially John Rothstein who has to work for March
00:54:42 Although this might have been before he was working in college basketball either way
00:54:46 Engagement party bullshit. I stand with John Rothstein people were were roasting him
00:54:51 That was just a very John Rothstein thing to say. Yeah. Did you expect John Rothstein to attend your engagement party during March?
00:54:57 Yeah, this guy I'm gonna go one for this John Rothstein was right. This guy's a fucking schmuck
00:55:02 He's a schmuck. What do you say? I never had a good feeling about the guy
00:55:06 What do you say? I never thought he was I never thought he I always felt that he wasn't truly a great guy
00:55:12 Because he didn't respect college basketball. Imagine imagine being that guy reading that tweet being like what the fuck?
00:55:17 Yeah, dude an engagement party if you're a guy are you there's no chance you're asking your friends with a straight face
00:55:23 Hey, would you want to come to my engage in March March conference championship week, but Max is right and per usual
00:55:30 I've always said that about Max. He's got great taste and things you invite your boys to go out for like some beers
00:55:35 And then you have a good time. Yeah, this is John Rothstein was 100% right and
00:55:42 I'd like to the replies that were great
00:55:44 The first reply was I divorced my wife so I could watch March Madness best decision I ever made wives are temporary marches forever
00:55:50 Mm-hmm fact
00:55:52 It is March it's fucking March it's very March right now. It's so hard
00:55:57 It's like May in Chicago. This is the most March that so March that it's ever been and it rocks
00:56:03 The other one my wife went into labor right when the Thursday first round games tipped off in 2019
00:56:09 I told her I was busy watching March luckily her boyfriend was able to drive to the hospital
00:56:13 I heard to the hospital LSU Yale was more important. Yep. Yep. This is March
00:56:18 You should just lie and say every year that you got a vasectomy during March
00:56:22 It's like it's a yearly thing you have to get it re-upped so I can't leave my couch. This is March
00:56:26 Okay
00:56:28 My who's back of the week is artificial intelligence in the NFL okay?
00:56:32 So there is a potential rule change that's gonna be happening
00:56:35 Maybe as early as next year, but probably the year after that
00:56:39 The NFL in a few different games has been experimenting with measuring down and distance using the Hawkeye technology that they use for tennis
00:56:46 Okay, meaning the chain gangs will be no more, and I don't like it
00:56:51 I don't like it at all and I'll tell you why people are always like oh
00:56:55 We're measuring like this billion-dollar industry with a chain and sticks held by old retired guys on the sideline. Yeah, that's part of why it rocks
00:57:02 it's kind of cool that we have a fucking chain that they have to sprint out onto the field and look because
00:57:08 Here's what makes it cool. If you're if you have rooting interest in that game, and they bring the chain gang out there
00:57:14 It's like another play that happens that you get to celebrate when they're a little bit short if you're on defense
00:57:19 You get that bump you get that extra crowd boost you just you freak out on your couch, and you got the TV
00:57:25 Yeah, fuck yeah, we stopped you bitch
00:57:26 Yeah
00:57:27 Get excited about that shit
00:57:28 And if you make the first down that's like another play that you just got a first down on couldn't be more if it's all
00:57:33 Hawkeye technology
00:57:35 Sometimes the technology is too good to the point where you don't it feels like you're not watching human beings play sport anymore
00:57:41 Yeah, I I mean I've said this a million times. I'll say it again if you
00:57:45 Put AI into sports and you make robot umps and robot referees you are depriving men of
00:57:54 Somewhere between 50 and 75 percent of the conversations they have with each other
00:57:58 You can't do that the world will crumble if we can't complain about the refs
00:58:03 What the fuck are we gonna talk about?
00:58:06 Nothing yeah, and and the chain gang thing is like people always get upset like I can't believe we got that's bad spot
00:58:13 We got the chains coming out. We're still using this technology. Yeah, we are and it's awesome
00:58:17 And I understand that something you want to complain about if your team doesn't get a first down where you think that you should get
00:58:22 A first down, but it's fun like this is one of the things that make sports fun
00:58:26 Think about a world where your team loses a huge massive game
00:58:29 And you can't go online afterwards and share a bunch of screenshots for weeks and weeks and weeks
00:58:36 Showing how your team was actually held more than them or this call was wrong. That's not a world
00:58:42 I want to live in that's how we cope is meant
00:58:44 Well, we have to have a coping mechanism when things don't go our way you don't say well my team is bad
00:58:50 You say well the ref screwed us
00:58:52 We're also gonna have to look into the histories behind the people that work for the Hawkeye
00:58:56 Technology because people be like oh they grew up in Boston. They're a Patriots fan. Oh, they grew up in
00:59:02 In like Charlotte, North Carolina
00:59:04 They're a Panthers fan and they're gonna use that to explain why they're there better peppers funded them that we can yeah, David
00:59:09 Maybe this guy worked for a company that David Tepper bought out and then bulldozed to the ground at some point
00:59:14 Yeah, they've got a beef against David Tepper. Did you see the new?
00:59:17 Kickoff rules are thrown out there. They're gonna do the XFL. It sounds am Schwartz team. Yeah, they're gonna do so
00:59:22 I actually like it. We should call that the Sam rule. It's the Sam rule
00:59:25 So from what I understand
00:59:27 Well, I don't like the onside kick thing where you can only do it when you're down and you have to declare that you're doing
00:59:32 It I don't mind it because you're allowed to
00:59:34 They're bringing back being allowed to overload which side of the field you have players on which is why we haven't had any onside kick
00:59:39 Recoveries in like the last two years it feels like but the sneak attack on side kick is awesome. It is fun
00:59:43 Yeah, it's we shouldn't take that away
00:59:47 The new kickoff rule though. I like it's essentially if I understand it correctly the kickoff team is kicking from the 40
00:59:52 You have to kick it any touchback is the 35 if it lands in the end zone. It's a 30 35 it lands
01:00:01 Between I want to say the 35 and the goal line and then rolls into the end zone
01:00:05 It's a 20-yard touch, right? So you want kickers to land the ball in the field of play and then have it rolling?
01:00:11 Yeah, they're basically essentially trying to get kickoff returns back in the game, but less violent
01:00:16 So there's less there. It's not, you know, 60 yards of guys running at each other
01:00:20 It's you know
01:00:21 30 yards of guys running at each other and teams will have an incentive to run it back more
01:00:27 So that they yeah, I'm in for it
01:00:30 Yeah, I'm in for that and I like what they're doing to the onside kick except I agree
01:00:33 I think you should be allowed to sneak attack. You have to be able to sneak attack. Okay, my who's back of the week is Sidney Sweeney
01:00:38 She was on SNL. Yeah, she was great. She was really good. I saw her thanking everyone
01:00:46 People are saying is Sidney Sweeney
01:00:48 bringing back tits
01:00:51 Were they ever gone? Well, there's been I don't know
01:00:54 What would you say a decade run where asses have been number one max hates tits?
01:00:59 I he does he hates fucking him hates looking at him, but people are saying Sidney Sweeney might be
01:01:04 She might we might look back in history and be like when did tits come back Sidney Sweeney?
01:01:09 I also love the fact that there was a
01:01:11 Nutritionist online that tried to take credit for Sidney Sweeney's diet and Sidney Sweeney had to be like I've never met this woman
01:01:16 Yeah, don't listen to her
01:01:18 Her diet is not what we're all thinking if there was a diet that made that happen
01:01:23 Then that would be something special. Yeah, but I don't think anyone's concerned about her diet
01:01:27 Yeah, they I saw a great meme
01:01:29 It was like they fill us with garbage and it was like all the milk products that we get given now and then they they give
01:01:35 us solutions and it's like soy milk and everything and then it says they deprive us of what we need and it's just
01:01:41 I
01:01:43 Looked at some of those tweets today and an
01:01:46 Insane a preposterous number of book. Oh, yeah on any Sidney Sweeney post ever. I mean, I have a couple bookmarked
01:01:53 Yeah, they're um, they're highly if you if you're looking for bookmarked engagement, I highly recommend posting Sidney Sweeney
01:02:00 Let me see. Where's that one that I bookmarked? What is the purpose of bookmarking something?
01:02:05 for this exact reason
01:02:08 I
01:02:10 Want you to smash the like button
01:02:14 Well, because then you have to scroll back watch farther. Okay, so bookmark is like a super like yeah super secret like yeah
01:02:21 My bookmarks are very funny. It's Sidney Sweeney. It's
01:02:24 Lions head coach Dan Campbell and his fourth down decisions
01:02:28 No, this one hurts Wisconsin won't make it to the sweet 16 this year
01:02:34 I'll delete my Twitter if they do that
01:02:35 I'm gonna unbook mark because I won't need to go back to that
01:02:38 It's a Dan Hurley clip and that's about it. Yeah. Okay. All my bookmarks are when I get into a bookmark battle with Hank
01:02:46 Hank, oh, here's one Hank. Who's Aiden Ross?
01:02:50 Streamer why the fuck is he in the news every day explain it to Hank Hank hot in the streets he
01:02:56 Came up playing NBA 2k and then he started doing
01:03:01 Like IRL streams having rappers over his house doing freestyles went super viral doing that
01:03:07 Okay, signed a big deal with kick. Okay is a partial. I don't know what that is. It's a rival
01:03:13 streaming service with twitch rumble
01:03:16 YouTube all the it's what it's one of those
01:03:19 Signed a big deal with them. He's a part like owner of the entire platform. So he's also helping get other
01:03:26 kick creators on there, but he has an army of
01:03:30 People that make clips for him so his clips go everywhere
01:03:33 But he's like I feel like he's always in beef or getting scammed or something. He got scammed by 21 savage
01:03:39 He got scammed by playboy Cardi
01:03:41 That's kind of a thing. Well, he does like he does he's had a lot of his success doing streams with rappers
01:03:47 But then it's kind of blown up and he's gotten scammed a couple times but for him
01:03:52 Getting scammed also plays cuz it's like yeah, that's all I see. It's all it's used and every other day
01:03:57 He gets like a hundred thousand people watching him. Okay, I'm looking back through my bookmarks right now
01:04:02 How can I possibly have bookmarks that happened in 2021? The bookmark wasn't around then, right?
01:04:07 I don't know. Maybe it was because my first bookmark it was is it wasn't an Elon thing is AJ titties saying babe
01:04:15 What the fuck does bonk mean?
01:04:17 There you go. That's bookmarks. I bookmarked it
01:04:21 there's
01:04:23 Turters just become like a minefield. I don't know what the the bots have become so good
01:04:29 So you just don't know if they're real or not. They're all they're all like AI
01:04:33 Yeah, they're like repeating things that you say but in a way that you think it's a real reply
01:04:38 Yeah, I saw this one guy who was like man the engagement on the size off the charts. How awesome is this?
01:04:43 He was just scrolling through Twitter and then clicking reply and had an AI button next to it
01:04:48 And it would just generate a reply and he did that for like 30 seconds
01:04:51 He's like isn't this cool and everyone's like no dude, you're you're actively killing the Internet. Yeah, what the hell?
01:04:56 It's a minefield. What do you got Hank? You got some of your bookmarks?
01:04:59 Matthew Stafford is six and two against the spread as a visitor on Monday Night Football
01:05:04 And then my other one is this is good this is guys read their bookmark if you dunk a basketball
01:05:10 I'll name my firstborn Henry Lockwood Rozier. I don't care what my baby mama say. I'll sign that motherfucker while she got a commission
01:05:18 Like that's good. Oh wait this one. Oh, I have one five workouts for bigger biceps
01:05:24 I'm gonna use that at some point how to last longer before ejaculating tips on how to last longer in bed. That's from
01:05:30 2011 oh, that's when the tweet was
01:05:33 Kegel training to stop ejaculating fast in two weeks. Is that like marks guy something?
01:05:40 Yeah, they're like men's health. I got a lot of those. Yeah
01:05:44 15 minute dumbbell arms workout to build muscles
01:05:47 Okay, have you been doing the treadmill and watching games? I know I
01:05:52 Have four TVs in my gym though, so that's good. That's sick
01:05:56 I'm gonna start doing it. It was so nice outside. You know like
01:06:00 You can have the nicest home gym, and you just look outside you're like
01:06:03 If I work out I should be working out outside, and then you just never work out. I'm focused on diet right now
01:06:10 Donnie's been cooking me meals. Just trying to eat clean. We'll work out when we get when we when we lose some pounds, okay?
01:06:17 Speaking of this interview coming up. I have a bookmark from Hank Lockwood sent on February 1st
01:06:22 2024 when Schefter announced that the commanders are hiring Dan Quinn it just says ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
01:06:30 Glad you thought that was so funny Hank
01:06:34 Okay, honestly great interview. Yeah great. Great guy. I
01:06:39 I was laughing cuz you wanted every other coach, but no I didn't yeah, Dan Quinn's my first uh-huh

01:08:35 Okay, we now welcome on a very special guest it is head coach of the Washington commanders Dan Quinn
01:08:43 Coach all-time football guy. Let's just start there where you're one of our favorite football guys right on
01:08:49 You it feels like every time we see you you know when when you were on the Cowboys or the or the Falcons like
01:08:55 There's Dan Quinn with his hat backwards. Yeah, just loving football
01:08:59 So thank you for joining us yeah, man
01:09:02 Congratulations on getting the job you're gonna be part of this show now because obviously PFT a huge commanders fan right on
01:09:08 What is the first you know you're what a month in what's the first thing that you've done to change the culture?
01:09:15 Football culture and bring the Dan Quinn football culture to Washington
01:09:19 You know I'm pumped about it, and one school to be on your guy show man, and as we're getting into it
01:09:24 We just want to make sure we can set out to set a team that
01:09:28 Helped create a nightmare for other people man
01:09:31 The like when you play us you say these guys are fucking bringing it and the attitude the intensity to swagger that goes with that
01:09:37 That's what I you know I'm setting out to do and so it starts with personnel
01:09:41 And that's why it's cool to be you know with Adam like he's got a he's a lead at it in terms of
01:09:47 Finding the right people at the right fit to to do it and then on the the personnel this give me the scheme side the
01:09:53 coaching side
01:09:54 I thought we it was cool to see how many people wanted to be a part of this yeah
01:09:58 And so like the amount of coaches that we were able to attract some that we couldn't you know add to it like but that
01:10:05 Told me a lot about what the organization means to say like people were
01:10:08 Wanting to be a part of it then the third piece is like that play style the attitude that you play with the hitting the
01:10:13 Physicality the ball hawking the explosive plays so like all three of those things
01:10:18 Are gonna be what's gonna make our team that and then?
01:10:22 Once that comes into place, then we then we've then we put the gas on it, man
01:10:25 Yeah, I like it, and I like I like just think about being a nightmare
01:10:29 Yeah, it's a cool visual like when somebody comes to play. It's like there's gonna be a hard game, bro
01:10:33 Yeah, you better bring your shit and like it's gonna be a fight
01:10:35 Yeah, that's what I want us to be that didn't mean you're gonna win everyone
01:10:38 But it does mean that like hey man you better you better be ready these guys finish. They're aggressive and
01:10:43 If we can create that kind of identity
01:10:46 The wins will follow I like that I like that very important question for me right off the bat
01:10:51 The backwards hat when did you decide to go with a backwards hat?
01:10:55 What was that decision like in your mind when you're like okay? I'm gonna be a defense coordinator for Dallas
01:10:59 I'm gonna put the hat backwards
01:11:01 We're turning over a new page right now
01:11:03 And then the follow-up to that is are we keeping the backwards hat this year on the side yeah?
01:11:07 I think it's somehow the hat is definitely taking on a life of its own. Yeah, I was unaware of
01:11:11 Colin Coward hates it yeah, okay. Have you seen over the top? Yes, of course you have yeah
01:11:17 Cuz I always assumed when you go backwards. That's what it's going on. It's on so I would say
01:11:21 I probably do it like like the whole life sometimes. It's backward
01:11:25 I'd say maybe 70% but not all the time you know and
01:11:28 That's just like how I like to wear them, and so it's it's kind of what I do and how I do it so yeah
01:11:33 That's how we'll play okay
01:11:34 I like that and on a serious note when you were figuring out what you want to do for your next step
01:11:39 I know you had some interviews last year you had other teams interested this year
01:11:42 How did you you said in your introductory press conference that you're waiting for the right position with the right alignment to open up?
01:11:49 What does that mean?
01:11:50 What was it about the commander's job this offseason that separated itself?
01:11:53 From all the other opportunities that were and you know it's cool
01:11:56 PFT like all 32 of them are different and like they're all awesome
01:12:00 And there's only 32 of these things in the whole world and so that is badass, but
01:12:04 Having done one before I also know I have to find the right fit for me, too
01:12:08 To be at my very best and so I was looking for you know really specific thing and if it if I didn't find it
01:12:14 I wasn't gonna have to go chase it
01:12:15 You know like I was happy doing what I was doing
01:12:17 But if there was a space that could create you know from ownership to general manager and allowing us to have you know like to
01:12:24 Create that kind of identity
01:12:25 I was talking about like you'd be crazy not to take that up
01:12:28 And so it just so happens that like when all this alignment came. It's like that's it. That's the one and so
01:12:37 Going through that process you know you're guarded, but you're like damn
01:12:40 You know like you want this one to happen because you know
01:12:43 You can help create it there and to have the chance to do it like a historic franchise
01:12:47 We're like football means a lot to this community and so like I grew up watching the NFC East
01:12:53 You know I grew up in New Jersey, and so like you know I remember seeing games and watching games and so
01:12:58 Knowing how important this franchise is to the NFL and to the community like that meant something to me, too
01:13:04 So like every once in a while when the stars align man. You got a fucking go let it rip
01:13:09 Yeah, this was my moment to go do that. It's a football town - yeah, it hasn't been recently as much
01:13:14 That's right the opportunity is definitely there in DC to be the one team that like ties the entire community together
01:13:20 Yeah, I think it's a great opportunity - I really think it's like a sleeping giant and
01:13:24 When you said like I like to do hard shit with tough people or what was it?
01:13:28 What's the quote you like to say? Yeah? I like to do hard shit with good people hard shit with good people
01:13:32 This is hard the best yeah, I like doing good shit with hard people - yeah, yeah, yeah, both things
01:13:37 Yeah, all right
01:13:38 I'm gonna bring up a bad memory
01:13:39 And I would assume when people say they're gonna bring up a bad memory with you you're thinking Super Bowl
01:13:44 This is not a Super Bowl question
01:13:46 This is a bad memory for me specifically because I am a gambler. I want to take you back to 2015
01:13:52 I want to take you back to I think it was week 9 or 10
01:13:55 You're playing the San Francisco 49ers. Do you remember what happened in that game? Yes?
01:14:00 Why did you kick a field goal on the one yard line? Yeah? No shit right? I was so upset
01:14:05 I actually went back and I looked at how much do I owe you?
01:14:08 Listen I look back at my blog and yet. I'll say this
01:14:11 I was at least I defended you a little can I tell you why I was gonna go okay? Yeah, yeah, all right
01:14:16 So we had a fantastic place kicker
01:14:19 Matt Bryant you were down for with four minutes left on the one yard line, so I thought we'll kick it
01:14:25 We'll stop them. We'll go drive it again. Matt. I'll kick it again
01:14:29 So it was pretty easy for me to see it at the time made no sense
01:14:33 That's because you weren't there. Yeah, well all right, so here's what I wrote
01:14:36 This is what I wrote and I defended you a little bit
01:14:39 You shouldn't I started the blog with Dan Quinn shouldn't be fired
01:14:42 He is just in year one there you go, but he should have to take the most rigorous neurological exams known to man
01:14:48 Also, he should 100% be fired
01:14:50 Well the first part was definitely fair so like I think what happens as you're going through it like those are scars you have yeah
01:14:58 And then I still have that scar. I think that's why
01:15:01 Sometimes you're better on your second lap
01:15:03 Yeah, like I had to go through those and make the mistakes and say like it. I ain't never doing that again
01:15:09 Yeah, and so are you can I get that promise from you? Oh? Yeah, all right?
01:15:13 If you're ever down for on the one yard line again under four minutes, you will not kick a field. That's right
01:15:18 Like you but no like on a serious note like
01:15:23 Yeah, I regretted that yeah, like I had a clear vision all right
01:15:26 You know like we weren't exactly like crushing it in so like we had got stopped three other times at the one
01:15:32 So it wasn't like you know me like okay. Let's just slam it again. You know so like
01:15:37 so there was a thought to say
01:15:40 Kick it stop them go, and they weren't hitting that they're like it wasn't like a shootout of a game
01:15:45 Yeah, so I thought okay this plan then when you don't hit it
01:15:48 It's a scar that you're there
01:15:50 But you do have to learn from those and I say when you go through and you make mistakes
01:15:54 I'm not doing that again, but you have to you do have to go through them
01:15:57 It sucks, but you did and I did I feel like this is a healing moment
01:16:00 I finally can put this to bed because I also didn't tell you that like probably for the next five years any time a team
01:16:06 Was like fourth and one on the one I'd like Dan Quinn would kick it here
01:16:10 So I did do that as well
01:16:12 But I brings up a good point that I actually wanted to ask a serious question a lot of head coaches the second time around
01:16:18 They have a lot more success because they did learn so is there one specific thing
01:16:22 That you learned at your time in Atlanta that you're like this is what I'm gonna do different
01:16:25 And we're gonna be better off for it
01:16:27 Yeah, I would say there's way more than just one specific thing
01:16:30 But I think that's why you have that space to do that where I had you know three years to say
01:16:35 What would this look like what would this look like from?
01:16:38 staffing to personnel to you know however you want to think about it like you can slice it in a lot of different ways but
01:16:44 Having specific plans in place just for that. You know reason alone, so there's a ton of them, but
01:16:50 Those are all the lessons you go through and say all right man when I get this chance if it happens again like I'm missing
01:16:56 That yeah, yeah, I like I believe you when you say that too
01:16:59 It's funny that big cat brought up the field goal thing because I was talking to to Sean the PR guy
01:17:04 For the commanders beforehand, and he was like what kind of questions you think you're gonna talk to us
01:17:08 I was like I think big cats gonna bring up this one field
01:17:12 2015
01:17:14 He sounds like he didn't harden his heart, but he definitely did yeah
01:17:16 It was a wait yeah, I'm asleep well for the first time in eight years. Yeah safe place
01:17:22 I feel like we're at a good space. Yeah. Yeah, you promised me
01:17:25 I've got a little visual exercise here that I was hoping we could we could do together coach um so
01:17:29 I print out a picture here. These are two guys well really three guys, but the guy on
01:17:36 Your left here, that's Drake. Yep, right and the guy on your left here. His name's Caleb. Yep, right
01:17:44 So just looking at Caleb and Drake
01:17:46 Which guy do you like more I?
01:17:49 Would say Drake. Oh you like Drake more than Kayla. Oh and that the fact his name's Jane Daniels. Yeah, yeah, yeah
01:17:57 So you still like Drake I can't even see it honestly yeah, but Drake, but you said Drake Drake really jumped off the page
01:18:04 Yeah, yeah, Drake wearing the blue right now. I think you just had a little more swag look a little tougher, okay?
01:18:09 Kind of been drawn to more toughness, okay, I mean maybe you guys like khakis. I don't know it's not my thing
01:18:16 How involved are you right now in in the scouting process and the draft process is that going to be
01:18:24 Primarily Adams call is that going to be combined call is it gonna be group decision or is ownership involved in that well
01:18:31 It's definitely Adams first. You know like that's his superpower and so the best thing
01:18:36 You know when you see a coach and a general manager working together is knowing
01:18:40 What players you need to fit the system, and that's been one of Adams strengths
01:18:44 You know wherever he's been like whatever the team needs. That's what he's going to find
01:18:48 It's not like this is the only type of quarterback or the only type of receiver
01:18:51 I think the best of the best do that to say hey
01:18:54 This is what the team needs and how to fit him in so I like being part of that process
01:18:58 I've always liked the scouting side of coaching I think if I wasn't coaching
01:19:01 I would want to do something like that because of I like seeing how you could feature a player what unique stuff
01:19:07 They have and then how do we put them into the offense or the defense or in a return game?
01:19:11 That's unique so when you have and you can find those kind of players like all right
01:19:15 What would we do and how would we feature that player and that's kind of the fun part of coaching?
01:19:19 Yeah, yeah one one other part that I assume is fun of coaching is like you don't get enough credit your coaching tree
01:19:25 You've got a lot of guys who coached under you Atlanta who now have head coaching jobs
01:19:29 I'd have to imagine that's one of the best feelings to be able to have guys come along and then go fulfill their dreams
01:19:36 Absolutely, you know because if if you played it some small part in that you know to share a philosophy share a lesson share something
01:19:44 Allow them to do their thing like I absolutely in that and there'll be a number on this staff as well
01:19:49 Yeah, you know that's here in Washington
01:19:51 That's gonna rock it and so but it you know like I am super proud to see some of these guys at league meetings
01:19:56 you know Kyle and Matt and Raheem and Mike and you know like I'm sure we'll all have a beer together and hang out and
01:20:02 Those times like that's a really cool thing. I'm super proud of those guys

01:21:14 Yeah, that was crazy. Yeah
01:21:16 And he's a like awesome dude, man. So like now he is rock-solid
01:21:20 So yeah, Tony would have to have a lot of bad days to not be cool with me. Okay
01:21:25 Have you have you been in touch with your players on Dallas to be like, hey, I look forward to kicking your ass twice a year
01:21:32 No, I when I left I text him before I took the job just to say man like
01:21:37 You know a big piece of why I got this job is because of you guys
01:21:41 and so like I wanted to make sure I shared that gratitude with them because like I
01:21:45 Wouldn't have been in this spot to have chances had it not been for them
01:21:48 Like I chose to go back to Dallas because of them as well the previous season
01:21:52 And so I wanted to go fight for that and see where we could take it
01:21:56 It didn't work out at the end
01:21:58 But I did want to show my gratitude for them like there's some good dudes that I'll be connected with for life on that and
01:22:03 I love that part of the game those relationships and wherever it was
01:22:07 There's still people on every team that I keep up with and there'll be a lot from this one as well
01:22:11 So speaking of your coaching tree and all the guys in the league when you're coaching against them
01:22:16 And this is gonna be a very dumb question
01:22:17 But this is how my brain works because I'm a dumb person if you're coaching against someone that you know very well
01:22:22 Do you ever outsmart yourself where you're like I'm gonna do this because I think they're gonna do that
01:22:27 But they know that I'm gonna do that because I know that they're gonna do that and then you just get in a circle
01:22:32 You could I think I would have I know that you know that I know that well, I would say like what's like
01:22:38 What's you guys cover football? So like what's awesome about football? It's always like changing and evolving
01:22:42 Yeah, so like things that any of us did two years ago four years ago six years ago
01:22:47 Whatever like ten years ago like it evolves and changes
01:22:52 And so I think that's a really cool thing about our game that like nothing's staying the same
01:22:57 And so this formation looks like this is playing different this disguise looks like this, but it's playing different
01:23:01 so
01:23:02 You enjoy competing against you know guys that you know
01:23:06 But as far as like don't do this in this scenario because they're gonna think that you're gonna do that
01:23:11 No, I've done that and it's way better to let the players do their thing and let it rip
01:23:15 So off of that and this is kind of like maybe a nerdy football question, but is there a specific time that you remember?
01:23:21 Making an adjustment like in a game. We were like that was the adjustment
01:23:26 I made and that won us the game is there maybe a game that you like sticks out in your mind like I think yeah
01:23:31 We did that and and everything worked after that. I think you have to sometimes
01:23:34 and like
01:23:36 So much is now going into it analytics and scouting and you know
01:23:40 Like all the different stuff like sometimes you have to absolutely throw an entirely new wrinkle
01:23:44 Add to somebody you put four linebackers on the field as opposed to three and like whoa
01:23:49 Why are they doing that?
01:23:50 And so sometimes you just need to do something a little different that it presents different
01:23:57 But it may not even be that different for you, but it looks way different for the offense or vice versa for the defense
01:24:02 So those are called unscouted looks. Yeah, and so there are things like, you know, they never shown that and so those happen
01:24:09 And if you do those in those critical moments where you they think hey every third and six they blitz or every short yards
01:24:16 They do this, but if you throw some unscouted looks in
01:24:18 That's usually when those moments come you got a practice can't be like something that's like hey put eight guys on the right side and see
01:24:25 What happens, you know, like it has to be like sound and good
01:24:28 But if you have those unscouted looks like yeah, they fooled me there. Yeah something they hadn't done
01:24:32 So sometimes you work on those for weeks and weeks, but you keep it in your back pocket as you're telling the team
01:24:38 Yep, this one's ready. Nope. This one's not ready yet
01:24:41 We're gonna keep it in the in the cooker for a little while and then when you're ready, then you can let it rip
01:24:45 But that's those are unscouted looks of things you haven't shown and it's not as traditional as you would have done
01:24:51 I'm not getting 11 safeties on the field. Yeah, right on
01:24:54 You know, it's like, you know, like some things are just weird. Yeah. Yeah, and they might call a timeout
01:24:58 Yes, what the hell is this? Yeah, like make those things help
01:25:01 But it's you can do it in any phase, but you do have to have those things ready. That's sometimes timeout
01:25:07 Why do you why they call it like yeah, so at least they had to burn one right get out of a look
01:25:11 Yeah, you know so like and that's an offense getting out of a bad play or defense something that and so like sometimes
01:25:17 Making an offense or a defense use a timeout
01:25:21 Especially if it's like their last one like that's a really big deal in a game or like they have no more timeouts left
01:25:25 So like you can take strategy down to any level and if you give those looks that's that those things help
01:25:31 Send the punt return team out there on third down the back. Wait, we should we running right now? Yeah
01:25:35 Is it fourth down? Yeah, no, you do some cool shit on defense for sure when you were in Seattle with Pete Carroll
01:25:42 He seemed to have a type for his defensive coordinators
01:25:44 He liked guys that had shaved heads with goatees. Was that your idea or did he make you?
01:25:50 Know I yeah, yeah
01:25:52 No, that look does go back quite a bit
01:25:55 I saw you some pictures of you playing at Salisbury and you looked like
01:25:59 You looked like a psycho like the internet wasn't like I thought that like we're safe
01:26:03 Like no you you you looked like you were a psycho linebacker in college. Can you confirm that were you crazy? Yes
01:26:10 Back then was this all bench press how much you could do and that was it and like we didn't have like sports performance training
01:26:18 You know like so it was just having fun and kicking ass and so I had a blast there
01:26:22 It was great. I did football on track. But yeah, like it was that day of football and today's day of football is a little different
01:26:28 Yeah, how much could you bench? Yeah, that was that's a New Jersey question
01:26:32 Okay, you work out. Yeah
01:26:34 Yeah, my cousin Tony
01:26:37 Four or five four or five. Yeah, you were a psycho. You're crazy
01:26:42 You probably you probably gave some pretty fired up pregame speeches. I don't know about that. But
01:26:47 like all those experienced man like
01:26:50 Coming up and having fun with everybody like those are cool things
01:26:53 Yeah, could you when you were on coaching the Falcons? Could you feel when Arthur Blank came down on the sideline? No
01:26:59 We could yeah. No, he was always down. I mean, I knew he was there but
01:27:03 That was just thing, you know, like he was just you know trying to show he was in yeah and
01:27:09 So at the end of the game, he'd come down and I knew there was a time he did
01:27:12 I didn't know when it was but that was just his his way like everybody's got their way, you know to like show
01:27:17 Hey, I'm here with you at the you know, hardest parts best parts all that and so that was that was his thing
01:27:22 Yeah, that's where it stemmed from him. Just wanting to show like a I'm right here with you at the fight
01:27:27 So I thought it was actually kind of cool
01:27:28 Yeah
01:27:29 Is there gonna be anything different with your relationship with with Cliff your OC now that you just got?
01:27:33 As opposed to your relationship with Kyle when you were in Atlanta
01:27:37 Is that something that you learned from in the past or is that something you thought worked well in the past that you want to?
01:27:41 Keep going. Yeah, I think it's super important like how can I best support all the guys, you know?
01:27:46 And so like from an offensive guy
01:27:48 Hey, I can you know give some insight as the defense is what they're playing some of the rules are how they're doing it
01:27:53 So that's how I would have helped
01:27:55 You know when I went to the quarterback room or they were talking about a certain blitz
01:27:57 and so I've enjoyed that through the years, but
01:27:59 that's my role to make sure like the play style and the standard is what we want it to be and how it looks because
01:28:05 Like I said, I got to make sure that parts right all phases, you know
01:28:08 They're sprinting off the ball getting after being explosive finishing plays
01:28:11 So like I'll make sure like I have my part into that
01:28:14 So some unsolicited advice you can take it or leave it if if you get a chance to talk to cliff
01:28:19 Say as a decent defensive guy, you know, what keeps me up at night is when offenses do
01:28:24 plan downfield laterals
01:28:27 After you make a catch a reception downfield
01:28:30 That's always open rugby style pitch it off as you're about to get tackled
01:28:34 There are lanes and channels that open up as a defense swarms to the ball carrier pitch it out to the side explosive play
01:28:40 I've been trying to I've been trying to it doesn't sound unsolicited. It sounds like you're pretty
01:28:44 It's very solicited. Yeah, I'm I am trying my best to get this in the brains of as many football guys as possible
01:28:51 Cuz I truly believe that it could be the next wrinkle. I mean we've seen it a couple. Yeah
01:28:55 It happens like Travis Kelsey always. Yeah, it's for it
01:28:58 But it is something where defenses are coached to swarm to the ball
01:29:01 Yep
01:29:02 Where you open up lanes for people downfield that could have an explosion
01:29:05 I think like anything when you emphasize something you practice it. That's when you get better at it
01:29:08 Yeah, and so for me studying rugby
01:29:10 There's lots of good tackling that goes but like the precision passing when you do it
01:29:14 So like if anything if you add in which I think is a good idea
01:29:17 Like you just got to practice man
01:29:19 Like you can't expect to do something in the game because you tried it once so like if it is what you do you got
01:29:23 To get it on all the time and get those things going because things like that are good
01:29:27 If you have a player unique who can spin it
01:29:30 Yeah, throw it cuz like you can't just you know
01:29:32 lateral it and not have it be where it's supposed to be like it's kind of like passing like
01:29:37 You know one foot right in front of the numbers like yeah
01:29:39 You want the ball and same thing if you're gonna lateral to somebody like I want one foot
01:29:43 Right in front of the number so like if you could get to that kind of detail doing it, then you're on it
01:29:47 Sounds like you've thought about yeah, you have I like that. I got some more on solicited advice for you on or solicit
01:29:53 Yeah, have you have you thought about the fake punt punt?
01:29:56 So like a rugby style no so you you snap it
01:30:01 And then you you're looked like you're faking the punt so you and then you lateral and then you punt
01:30:06 But when the guys be downfield some well yeah, you just like they're like oh shit
01:30:10 They're faking it, but then you actually end up still punting hmm. Yeah, let's see some more diagram
01:30:15 Might work okay, here's a good one. This is more of an in-game scenario for you though right in game, okay?
01:30:22 Yeah, let's say
01:30:24 Hypothetically it's the NFC championship game yep, and you're down what eight points eight points down eight points
01:30:31 And it's fourth and goal fourth and goal from the seven from the seven yard line you're down eight points
01:30:37 Would you kick a field goal? I think there's what two minutes?
01:30:41 Yeah, they're a little over two minutes a little over two minutes left playing against the best quarterback of all yeah
01:30:45 The best quarterback to ever exist is on the other team
01:30:48 Would you kick a field goal try to get a defense stop and then get the ball back and try to score touchdown?
01:30:54 Or would you try to score touchdown?
01:30:56 And did you give me timeouts or any of that kind of stuff?
01:30:59 Because you're saying yes, I'd say
01:31:01 It was n7 yeah, I think you'd probably kick it there
01:31:05 Not the one you were at the one
01:31:08 That's why I asked at the seven. That's fine. That was a mouth of fluid question
01:31:12 Seven is different yeah inside you've got to go yeah, what is eight you know I'm saying you were at the seven
01:31:19 All right well
01:31:22 I have one last question it is the row back question our HOB a CK comm promo code take 20% off your first purchase
01:31:28 Q zips pull those hoodies joggers shorts row back calm
01:31:32 Do you how many times does 23 come up in your head just randomly I hate to ask that like
01:31:40 That's a it's been a minute tells okay. That's good. Yeah, that was at once a scar
01:31:46 You know I mean not once a wound now. It's a scar like okay like like I said like
01:31:49 There's all things that you'd like to do different
01:31:51 Yeah, but that's certainly not gonna define me as a coach or in my life, right?
01:31:55 I like so like like I'll tell you what like playing the Super Bowl is as fun as it gets yeah
01:32:00 And so I'd rather be on that stage every motherfucking year
01:32:02 Yeah, and to be put yourself out there to do it and like I very much look forward to proving that moment to go win it
01:32:08 I like that answer also last last question for me. You're down 14, and you score
01:32:14 Let's say there's five minutes left. Do you go for two yes? Yes?
01:32:18 Right there
01:32:24 Small math yes small decimals like that kind of stuff yeah, no algebra right I like
01:32:29 Actually the only math we've ever understood so we don't understand analytics whatsoever
01:32:36 So we basically just preach it because it's the only math equation. We've ever understood there you go make sense to me
01:32:40 Yeah, well, thank you coach. We appreciate it. I whatever you need from me. I'm here for you that he means that consider me
01:32:47 Some shadowy member of the yeah, right on whatever you dirty work
01:32:52 Anything you need to kill a guy. I'll do it. I would kill a guy for you
01:32:56 Pop the trunk if it has to go down right press a button. I would press a button that would kill
01:33:00 He's your fault right. Oh. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's actually a great point
01:33:03 So if you can either ask me to do a chore or if you have to like blame somebody for something
01:33:08 Put it all on me. Okay. I'll eat that be like this asshole PFT told me to do it. Yeah, right
01:33:13 I have no idea what that's all it man
01:33:14 That's my mistake is trusting my guy if your analytics department ever fails you he is your in right?
01:33:19 Yeah, that's that's solid brotherhood right there
01:33:21 Listen we're on the right path. That's solid right there Adam Schefter last year said that we were in the Super Bowl
01:33:28 That's a step in the right direction
01:33:30 We got Dan Quinn. We got cliff. We got the draft goes through us basically at number two. I'm pumped man
01:33:36 Yeah, we are team and left hand up. That's what we do in DC by the way the left hand left hand
01:33:41 Oh, and you flex that's hard. Yeah, that's hard. That's hard. Well. Thank you coach so much best of luck
01:33:46 I'm happy you gave me that promise. Yeah, I feel like I love be good. Yeah, leave me your account
01:33:52 Coin in there

01:34:41 Okay, let's wrap up with the Monday reading found this one on the New York Post. It's titled
01:34:47 Just two cans of soda per week is too much. They did this on purpose even if you exercise study
01:34:54 So the study claims that two cans of soda is - yeah, yeah, that's two cans of soda in a week
01:35:01 Oh a full week in a week not a flight in a week workouts are rendered worthless by soda consumption
01:35:07 Scientists warn drinking just two 12 ounce cans of pop per week can effectively erase the heart health gains
01:35:14 Made during exercise according to a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition
01:35:18 Pharmacologists at the University of Laval in Quebec City analyzed health data for approximately a hundred thousand adults
01:35:27 Over 30 years to find the damage done by sugar sweetened beverages
01:35:31 Can't be overcome with the average recommended workout quota about 150 minutes every week
01:35:36 They said max are you working on 150 minutes a week? Nope. Are you drinking more than two sodas a week?
01:35:41 Honestly, yes
01:35:46 That's a lie come on I don't drink that much soda Mac yeah, I would argue
01:35:52 I drink the least amount of soda on this pod
01:35:55 Man you guys get you guys whatever you had to on a flight
01:36:02 Yeah, max wait it might have been three. So are you saying that the New York Post did this on purpose on a 30-year study?
01:36:07 About two sodas. Yes
01:36:09 The New York Post is just obsessed with barstool sports and they knew exactly what was gonna happen when they when they posted
01:36:15 They they wrote like a yes a vaguely unintentional headline that had something to do with you for this. Yes
01:36:21 Yes
01:36:24 How many how many replies were about the fucking soda? I don't know. I didn't see the replies I
01:36:31 Did it was in my fucking mentions all week. I love I love that
01:36:34 The New York Post might just be getting into the max content business. I mean, that's all New York Post
01:36:41 Oh, is that was it the New York?
01:36:43 Less soda than Big Cat and PFT. I don't like I will drink a soda on a plane
01:36:50 Some the only time
01:36:52 Yeah, I mean I drink beer which is like obviously worse I think I have I think I do about two sodas a week
01:36:59 I think two sodas a week sounds accurate and but I don't do 150 minutes of workout a week. No, no this week
01:37:06 I'm getting back though full week. All right, let's go. Let's go. We come back
01:37:10 Well, the moral of this this whole study and every study about ever read is that?
01:37:14 Anything that you drink or eat in life is bad for you
01:37:19 Yes, and it changes on a week-to-week basis according to the most recent study that's published by the New York Post
01:37:24 Red meat has been bad and great for you a hundred times over. Yeah red wine
01:37:29 Terrible for you also might make you live forever. Yeah coffee the same way they do it
01:37:34 They do it study about coffee and they're like people who drink coffee live forever
01:37:38 And then the next one coffee's bad for you and they just coffee's great for you
01:37:41 They do the same thing with with like sex stuff and headlines to like people that have sex X amount of times per week live
01:37:47 20 years long. Yeah, it is no ejaculate within five seconds live forever. Actually, it's like if you look at the
01:37:53 Like evolutionary aspect behind coming fast, it makes sense
01:37:57 Yeah, you get in you get out or alpha male before you get chased down by like pleasure
01:38:01 It's a business. There's a velociraptor that's running after you you have to nut in less than five seconds
01:38:06 Yeah, the Canadian team noted that two sodas every seven days could be considered relatively low by many consumers yet still presented significant health risks max
01:38:14 Yeah, you know what let's have a big week this is our last week that we we have like a
01:38:21 Relatively great week. We actually have Diana Rossini coming on Wednesday
01:38:25 And then we have Pat Bev which we taped on Saturday not looking for a shout out for working on Saturday
01:38:30 But we did work on Saturday coming Friday. So we have
01:38:33 Big interviews coming this week. We don't have to travel
01:38:37 We can all work out all of our toilets are working in our apartments or houses
01:38:43 And wait, yeah, all everyone all of our apartments are in great shape right now shape Shane you good
01:38:50 We match you're not raising your hand. We got pug. Is there shit water on the fire?
01:38:54 It's not shit waters. We're not doing fire for you. Don't do fire fest. What happened max you have shit water in your house
01:39:00 It's clean water. So you clogged your toilet you came
01:39:02 Flooded is okay. Let's start. Let's start from the beginning. Did you come home to your house flooded?
01:39:10 Yes
01:39:13 From the back. Whoa, where was the was the water coming? All right, so yes the back of the
01:39:18 If you know anything about plumbing
01:39:22 Step by step. Did you come home to your house flooded?
01:39:26 Yes
01:39:28 Was the source of the water the toilet? No the back
01:39:32 No, no, no answer the question was the source of the water the toilet the clean
01:39:36 That's the answer was the source of the water the toilet I just I gave you the answer just say yes or no
01:39:43 I gave you your answer was the source of the water the toilet back
01:39:46 Was the source of the water the toilet answer the question. Yes or no, sir
01:39:51 Sure, Matt. I rest my case. I have another question for you. Would you take an empty glass of water?
01:39:57 Dip it into the back of your own toilet and then drink that water
01:40:00 No, but it's tight it is clean water everyone why would I drink it in water I
01:40:05 Won't do it because you I won't do that. So you operate is why not max? I'm confused
01:40:13 It's clean water you upper decked your own toilet
01:40:18 No, there's an issue with my toilet this is not this is like a thing from too big a dump
01:40:23 No, there was an issue with like too big make of my toilet in my apartment. It broke
01:40:28 Do you think water was coming out of the top of my toilet if we had the toilet in here right now?
01:40:33 We could talk to the toilet would the toilet say that he's stressed the toilet is
01:40:38 Was under normal stress with the toilet say yeah
01:40:42 My job sucks a lot and it's really been taking a toll on me
01:40:47 And that's why I decided to malfunction in the back. Would he say that numbers?
01:40:51 Max's toilet would want to kill itself. It sucked. I mean
01:40:56 toilet better help oh
01:40:59 That toilet if that toilet could talk imagine max walking it was walking in the bathroom. It's an old god. Oh god
01:41:07 I had like the building
01:41:09 Like apologize he's like yeah, this is an old part in the back of your toilet
01:41:13 There's a like we should have should have had this replaced and then they replaced it and then they got on the radio
01:41:18 They're like big dumper in 206
01:41:20 Over so it's it's shit water. It's not shit water. It's water that you wouldn't drink because it has maybe how bad
01:41:27 How bad was the flooding? It sucked. I had to throw out all my all the carpets in my
01:41:32 Because there was shit water on clean water
