00:07 A new road closure is in place in Burgess Hill this week after power lines were damaged.

00:12 UK Power Networks said the road closure is in Ogley Lane while a team safely completes essential overhead network repairs to maintain reliable electricity supplies.

00:22 UK Power Networks said they were notified by police at 4.35pm on April 15th about a large fallen tree which had damaged overhead power lines.

00:32 This cut off power to 24 customers and engineers re-routed all supplies by 9.48pm and aimed to complete remaining repairs as quickly as possible to reopen the road.

00:42 An elderly woman was taken to hospital on Tuesday after being in a collision with a car in Eastbourne.

00:48 Emergency services were called to Saffrons Park at about 11.30am.

00:53 Police confirmed that a 78-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a leg injury following the incident.

00:58 The residential road was blocked briefly while paramedics tended to the woman.

01:02 Plans are being unveiled to develop a 400MW battery energy storage hub at the world-renowned Knapp Estate near Horsham.

01:09 Energy company Clearstone has worked together with specialists at Knapp, which is known worldwide for its rewilding and nature restoration,

01:17 to design an energy hub that will integrate with sustainable farming operations on the estate.

01:22 By storing excess electricity produced by solar and wind farms, the hub, known as the Dragons Green Energy Hub,

01:28 would increase the availability of green energy for use in homes and businesses across West Sussex.

01:33 Clearstone Energy says it expects to invest around £200M into developing the project,

01:39 with an operational start date of 2031, subject to achieving planning permission.
