The Rangers ended the ceremonial first half of the MLB season on a strong note, taking two out of three games from the Astros in Houston. Did they cement the fact that they need to be buyers this trade deadline? At five games under .500, do you still think they should sell certain pieces of the team? Reg & Mike react to this series in the video above.

00:00After Friday night's game, you just didn't feel great again after you lose to the angels.
00:23You had bases loaded a couple times against the angels.
00:26You didn't take advantage of it.
00:28You lose a game in LA, and you're like, okay, yeah, you still won the series.
00:32And then you go to Houston and immediately don't look good offensively.
00:36And you're like, wait, was that a, was that fluky?
00:40That stretch that the Rangers had for, I don't know, I'm going to guess 10 to 12 games or
00:45so.
00:46It might've been longer than that.
00:47Or were we coming out of a somewhat couple month long funk and getting back into the
00:55team that we believe we have, one of the best offensive teams in baseball to start
00:59the season.
01:00And you got done with the Houston series.
01:02I'll just fast forward and you win two out of three.
01:05And that is huge, but it's weird because you didn't hit really in the series to win.
01:11It was all pitching that won you that series.
01:15That and, uh, when we talk about fits and starts offense, you're right.
01:18It wasn't all pitching, but you had to have phenomenal pitching.
01:22You sure did.
01:24And thankfully you got a little bit from this man here, cut three Alec, because he gave
01:28you just enough to get you some wins.
01:30Here's the pitch, a swing and a drive deep to right field.
01:34That goes looper Fido at the wall.
01:35That ball is history.
01:37It's a two home run game for Josh Smith.
01:41He's doing it by himself.
01:42The Rangers lead four to one.
01:44All right.
01:45So that was huge there because I felt like the Rangers weren't going to score the rest
01:50of that game before that happened.
01:53So the Rangers in this game, and this is going to be similar to Saturday's game.
01:57The Rangers got a lead off hit from Marcus Simeon.
02:00They got a home run from Josh Smith.
02:02Sure did.
02:03Did you just hear that highlight?
02:04Yeah.
02:05That was their other hit of the game.
02:06That was it.
02:07Josh Smith hit two, two run homers in the first inning Simeon singles, Corey Seager
02:13hits into a force play.
02:15And so Corey Seager is on base and then Josh Smith hits the home run.
02:19When the Rangers get no hit from that point on until you get to the eighth inning and
02:24Corey Seager draws a walk and Josh Smith hits a home run.
02:27It counts.
02:28It's a win right now.
02:29A win is a win.
02:30You kind of get to the point where you're like, you want to see consistently good play
02:35because then you can believe that they're going to go on a magical run.
02:40Plus that's the stuff that projects forward, right?
02:42Like the things that project forward is the process.
