00:00Toby's new shed. It was a wet and windy day on the island of Sodor. The engines were working hard.
00:14Henry pulled freight. Gordon pulled the express.
00:23And Thomas was taking trucks to Arlesdale End.
00:31As he arrived, Thomas saw lots of birds twittering. Thomas thought the singing was lovely.
00:40Then he saw Toby coming out of his shed.
00:46Good morning Thomas, puffed Toby.
00:50Thomas was surprised. Toby was very wet.
00:56Toby rang his bell as he steamed away.
01:01Thomas looked at the roof of Toby's shed. It was full of holes.
01:07Rain must have been dripping on Toby when he was asleep, worried Thomas.
01:16Thomas decided to tell the Fat Controller about Toby's roof.
01:23That warn't due, boomed the Fat Controller.
01:27Toby must be given a brand new roof right away.
01:31Please sir, tooted Thomas, I can collect everything we need.
01:37Thank you Thomas, said the Fat Controller.
01:42Then Toby puffed in with Henrietta to pick up some passengers.
01:48You're going to have a brand new roof Toby, tooted Thomas. I'm off to collect everything we need.
01:57Toby looked worried, but all his passengers were now on board and he had to leave.
02:05I wonder why Toby didn't look very excited, thought Thomas.
02:13First Thomas had to collect the workmen.
02:23At Toby's shed the birds were still twittering.
02:28The workmen began to take down the old roof.
02:33Thomas met Percy at the junction. Percy was excited.
02:39Look what I'm taking to Farmer McColl's farm, peeped Percy.
02:44It's a new house for his doves.
02:47Well, I'm helping build a new roof for Toby's shed, tooted Thomas.
02:53That's exciting, peeped Percy.
02:56Toby must be very happy.
02:59He didn't look very happy when I told him, huffed Thomas.
03:04Maybe he likes his old roof, chuffed Percy.
03:09Well, I'm going to show Toby that his new roof will be the best new roof ever.
03:18Later, Thomas picked up another load of work.
03:23Later, Thomas picked up the timber for Toby's new roof.
03:31He showed it to Toby.
03:36Look at this lovely new timber, Toby, he tooted.
03:41Toby looked worried.
03:44I'm off to Allsdale End, wheezed Thomas, so that the workmen can start straight away.
03:51Toby wanted to say something, but before he could, Thomas whistled,
03:57I'm sure you'll like it when it's all done, and Thomas chuffed away.
04:05In no time at all, Toby's roof was finished.
04:10Thomas thought it looked lovely.
04:13Now you have the smartest shed on Sodor, Toby, whistled Thomas proudly.
04:18But Toby looks sadder than ever.
04:22What's wrong, Toby? puffed Thomas.
04:26Toby sighed.
04:28It's much better than your old roof, and it hasn't got any holes, Thomas added.
04:34But I like my old roof with holes, wheezed Toby sadly.
04:39Little birds flew in through the holes to make their nests.
04:43My shed was their home too.
04:45Thomas was surprised.
04:48He watched Toby chuff slowly and sadly into his shed.
04:59Thomas puffed slowly along.
05:03He had never felt so miserable.
05:05Just then, Thomas saw the new home Percy had delivered for Farmer McColl's doves.
05:20It gave Thomas an idea.
05:35Thomas steamed over to the timber yard.
05:39He could see the timber from Toby's old roof was still there.
05:45He asked the workmen to build a new birdhouse out of the old timber.
05:51Then all the birds will have a new home, puffed Thomas.
06:05Soon the new birdhouse was finished.
06:11Thomas chuffed excitedly to Toby's shed.
06:18The workmen put up the birdhouse.
06:24Birds came to nest in it straight away.
06:30Toby listened.
06:32He was very happy.
06:35His friends had returned.
06:37There were now more birds twittering than ever before.
06:42And Toby would also be nice and dry in his new shed.
06:48Thank you Thomas, chuffed Toby.
06:51I'm very happy.
06:53And so was Thomas.
