00:00You got LeBron and Anthony Davis, you got Brown and Tatum, you got Jokic and Murray,
00:05you got Paul George and Embiid, you got Harden and Kawhi, Dojic and Kyrie, Durant and Booker,
00:12hell you got Shea Gildress Alexander and Chet Holmgren.
00:15After you watch that Olympic game and that Olympic tournament, do you think Joe Lacob
00:23right now is kind of kicking himself, saying, maybe I should have given in a little more
00:31to get a Paul George or a Marconin?
00:34How do you assess all that now, after Curry put together the two games that he did?
00:41Well, it's what you believe.
00:42And I believe that the Warriors were all in, Stiney.
00:45I don't believe Brandon Pudzimski was the reason they couldn't get Marconin or Jonathan
00:51Kaminga.
00:52So I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
00:54What do you think was the reason they couldn't get Marconin?
00:58That Utah wasn't blown away by that package.
01:01So what I'm what I'm getting at is...
01:02I know why with Paul PG-13, Ballmer didn't want to help the Warriors.
01:06Well, what I'm getting at with with Marconin is, if Pudzimski was the reason that no deal
01:14got done for Marconin, after you see what Curry did, do you think you say, shoot, we
01:21should have tried to get a number two in here no matter what?
01:25Hell yes, Stiney.
01:26I would.
01:27Hell effing yes.
01:28No doubt about it.
01:29And man, you just hit me in the cardiac muscle with the tandems.
01:34They do matter.
01:35And one more thing before you grab the calls that makes me feel good about this Warrior
01:40team in this Warrior upcoming season.
01:42Are you going to get that Steph Curry to go 17 to 27 from three in the final two games
01:48every 82 games of the season?
01:51Probably not.
01:52But now when you talk about jumps from the others, I'm like, OK, maybe Kaminga, the jump
01:57doesn't have to be as big as from here to the Grand Canyon.
02:00Maybe the jump can be, you know, smaller, but it'll still be enough if somehow the chef
02:06doesn't tire.
02:07If that makes sense.
02:08Maybe it's a collective of Wiggins showing up and not being a no show.
02:12Now I could be proven wrong, but watching that guy and being able to say he is ours,
02:18he is the Warriors.
02:20He's got gas left in the tank.
02:22Let's go.
02:24All that's well and good.
02:26But if we have to be honest, the Warriors aren't going to win a title right now, as
02:32is.
02:33They're not.
02:34As great as Steph is, he's not he's not going to be able to bring this team their fifth
02:41title.
02:42Can you get in the playoffs?
02:43Well, that's where it's at now for me.
02:44Well, what I'm getting at is if if let's say I'm somebody and I have been let's say I'm
02:50somebody that says, you know, you can't really you got to be careful about mortgage in the
02:55future.
02:56You got to be careful about sending out unprotected first after Steph Curry is out of here.
03:03My question is, after you see that performance, does it become imperative now, almost imperative
03:12that the Warriors get another player in here to give this guy one more shot?
03:18Because I think we can all agree is currently constructed.
03:22It's going to be a long, long, long, long, long shot.
03:25No doubt.
03:26So what do you do if you're Joe Lacob and Mike Dunleavy right now?
03:30And does that performance over the weekend change your priorities?
03:36That's the question I'm asking.
03:37You're with me five days a week, 20 hours, Stiney.
03:40What if I told you this and the listeners and I mean it, I didn't need to see that.
03:44It was it was incredible.
03:46Something we'll never forget.
03:47I was already imperative all in before we saw Steph go do what he did in the Olympics.
03:54That's that's how thirsty I am for this guy to get a second.
03:57And I think you could back me up on that.
03:59Now the world saw it.
04:01And again, it's about what you just asked me.
04:03Your boy Joe Lacob, is he kicking himself if he, you know, if he didn't go all in?
04:08But I felt this way as soon as that final buzzer went off in Sacramento that the Warriors
04:13got to get them and Steph a bona fide number two option.
04:17Let's go to let's go to Streets.
04:20Let's go to the streets in Berkeley.
04:23What's up, Streets?
04:24How you doing, man?
04:25Hey, Stiney.
04:26Hey, dude.
04:27Thanks for taking my call.
04:28Yeah.
04:29That was so much fun, man.
04:30I had so much fun watching Steph and the rest of the team.
04:34And, you know, they did feel the pressure and, you know, they did because Steph turned
04:38it up in the pressure cooker and it mattered to him.
04:41And you could tell it mattered to him because he was playing this game like it was the most
04:46important game he's played to date.
04:48And I just it was like another notch on his belt that just adds to this lore of Steph
04:53that we talked about where in that last France game, they were throwing double teams at him
04:59the way they do in the NBA.
05:00But he's got KD and LeBron on the court and they couldn't stop him from hitting the three.
05:05And I just love being like Anthony Edwards and Birkin, those guys, just the younger guys
05:09on the team just getting so giddy seeing superhero Steph do what they've known him to do this
05:15whole time.
05:16I had so much fun.
05:17I mean, it was it was absolutely an incredible performance.
05:20I mean, my question is, I get he's going to have games like that this upcoming season
05:26or stretches like that.
05:29I actually look at those games and think, well, how's he going to continue to be that
05:35player if he's on the team he's on, going up against the competition he's up against?
05:43That's fair, man.
05:44As good as as good as he was, as great as he was, you know, he's playing on an all-star
05:49team with against Serbia and against France.
05:53So I'm thinking, honestly, I was thinking, huh, is that is that the last great big moment
06:00we're going to see of Steph Curry's career?
06:04And to my way of thinking, it might be unless something happens, unless he gets some help
06:13here or down the line he goes somewhere else.
06:19And that that I got to tell you is another thing that that hit me.
06:22On the one hand, I was thinking, man, the Warriors, I wonder if they feel like now more
06:28than ever, they got to get a they got to get a guy in here.
06:31Or I'm wondering, man, Steph Curry just did that.
06:36He had more fun, he was saying, than he has in the recent past.
06:40Could that be an impetus for Curry to start putting more pressure on the Warriors that
06:46if they can't help him, he may have to look elsewhere?
06:52Like that, that absolutely crossed my mind.
06:55Yeah, and it had crossed my mind already in a right on the table early brought to you
06:59by Atco Stanius.
07:01He was they say he was talking to Draymond Green after he kept hitting shot after shot
07:05after shot.
07:06Don't worry about me.
07:07But I took that as he was talking to the basketball world about, you know, I'm not slipping.
07:13And and and and I still possess this.
07:16I can go lethal at any time.
07:18So what do you think he meant by don't worry about me?
07:21Because it's on tape.
07:23It was a hashtag.
07:24Who was he talking to?
07:26And I told you how I felt when he made those comments, bottom feeder, things change quickly
07:32in the league.
07:33And when you go out and do that, and watch him exude all that bravado in and like, give
07:39me some help.
07:40I felt like he was telling was he talking to Lake up?
07:43Was he talking to Dunleavy?
07:45I don't know.
07:46But I was just sitting there like, man, this dude still knows he has some left.
07:49Well, if he's talking to Lake of a Dunleavy, what would he mean by don't worry about me?
07:57What did what did Curry mean by don't worry about me after that dagger looking over a
08:03Draymond?
08:04I don't I don't know.
08:05Evan thinks that it may have something to do with, you know, I didn't play well early
08:09in the tournament and that he played well.
08:11And so maybe he heard that, you know, Curry struggling, Curry struggling.
08:15Now he wins in two games and says, don't worry about me.
08:17I'm fine.
08:19Or the one thing that did cross my mind is Curry knows darn well that the team's trying
08:26to get him some help.
08:28Curry knows darn well that I think they're they're warrior fans that I don't I'm not
08:33going to say feel sorry for him, but I think there's warrior fans that feel for him because
08:40the team around him isn't as good as it used to be.
08:44And maybe he's saying, don't worry about me.
08:47I'm fine here in Golden State.
08:49I'm fine.
08:50You don't have to worry about me.
08:52I don't need you know, I don't need three superstars to come to play with me.
08:57Don't worry about me.
08:58Yeah, I'm under contract.
09:00I'm still a hell of a player.
09:02We're going to go out and play this year and hopefully we can make some noise.
09:06Like don't worry about me, everybody.
09:08Uncle Looney on the chat says, sir, talk a lot.
09:11Dre on his podcast said he was a little worried about this chef.
09:14How so?
09:15I guess he was.
09:16I don't know.
09:17I guess Dre.
09:18I don't know what context the context he said it, but, you know, Steph wasn't actually lighting
09:22it on fire early and LeBron was kind of leading the brigade.
09:25But maybe that's why he was looking at Dre just saying, don't worry about me.
09:30That makes all the sense in the world if his teammate was actually worried about, you know,
09:35what did I tell you?
09:37Curry shot it just three times, you know, I mean, he was playing bad, but he was looking
09:42in that direction.
09:43As he said, don't worry about me and put on a display that the world won't forget anytime
09:49soon.
09:50Let's go to Vince.
09:51Vincent's in.
09:52Vincent's in Hercules.
09:53What's up, Vincent?
09:54How you doing?
09:55I'm doing good, fellas, man.
09:56It's really nice to talk to you guys.
09:57Thanks for taking my call.
09:58Yeah, I had my I just think it was the greatest shot of Steph's career because it was the
10:05greatest stage of Steph's career.
10:08I mean, you're talking about the Olympics.
10:09When I think about the Olympics, I think about Max Kellerman, the fate of the universe.
10:15And when you think about the Olympics, that was the fate of the universe moment.
10:19And he delivered.
10:20I mean, and it's a larger audience, non-casual fans for the night, probably not fans of basketball
10:27or watching.
10:28So, you know, you just can't get any bigger than that.
10:30I mean, that stage was huge.
10:33Just think about this, fellas.
10:34This is the last thing I'll say.
10:37You got Steph Curry getting the ball, getting a double team, and LeBron James and Kevin
10:42Durant is wide open.
10:45I mean, that was incredible to just see that.
10:49It's like, wow, this guy is the biggest star among stars, fate of the universe, in the
10:56Olympics, championship game.
10:59Everything's on the line.
11:00Come on.
11:01He killed it.
11:02He nailed it.
11:03Without question, that was the biggest shot of his career.
11:06Hey, you don't have to worry about him.
11:07He fed in with the...
11:10I think the don't worry about me is that, hey, don't worry about me, man.
11:13I'll get in.
11:14I'll get my shots up with a lot of these guys, maybe possibly, you know, doing their thing
11:19to show out, show their talents out.
11:21So that's it.
11:22That's all I got to say.
11:23I appreciate it, Vincent.
11:24Yeah, I don't know if it's...
11:25I want Iguodala.
11:26I don't know if it's the biggest shot he's ever hit in his career, but I do think the
11:31more I think about it, I think it's going to be the most remembered shot that he's ever
11:36made in his entire career.
11:37Because of the stakes and what it would have meant.
11:39And you know what?
11:40I think so.
11:41Let me go here.
11:42And it's kind of unfair to Carmelo, who was courtside, Stiney.
11:45You know, when we talk about Carmelo Anthony, I think a lot of people look at, you know,
11:51left a lot on the table because he wasn't an NBA champion.
11:55But he cried when he won his gold medal and nobody ever says, hey, hold on.
12:00Yeah, he didn't get it done in the NBA.
12:03But let's remember his Olympic moment.
12:06We kind of don't do that with Melo and maybe that's because Melo doesn't have any rings.
12:10But with Steph, I think now that he has both, it is par for the course and it's a fun discussion
12:16to kind of what do you think his biggest moment was?
12:18I don't know.
12:19Because when you look at Melo, nobody ever goes to that Olympic moment to supersede maybe
12:25some of the NBA failures.
12:28I mean, to me, when I think of signature shots from Steph Curry, and I was talking to a buddy
12:36about this, you know, the other day, well, it is a bunch, but it's not like he doesn't
12:42have a lot of buzzer beaters.
12:46Down one makes a shot.
12:47They win it.
12:48Down two makes a three.
12:49They win it.
12:50But how many times have the Warriors been down two?
12:54He makes one with 42 seconds left to put them up one, and then he hits another one
13:00with 20 seconds left to seal the game.
13:03So to me, because we're talking about a signature shot, yeah, the more I think about it, I think
13:14that's going to go down as the signature shot of his entire career.
13:18I'm not mad at that.
13:20The one that he hit Saturday to put that game away.
13:24He had the ball a millisecond, Stiney.
13:27That thing was off.
13:29And you tell me if I saw it wrong.
13:31I felt like other guys, LeBron, Cate, the ball became hot potato, Booker.
13:37Like Curry kind of knew it and seized that moment.
13:40Guys knew that, oh man, here comes France, they're down, Stiney, and that's what made
13:44it more special.
13:45The chef was meeting the moment of, if this thing don't go in, to hell with it, but I'm
13:51going to let it go.
13:52I'm going to let it fly.
13:53Yeah, I mean, to me, Curry, LeBron, and Durant, and Booker to a lesser extent.
13:59But let's talk about the older guys.
14:02I mean, Curry and LeBron James and Durant were by far, as far as I'm concerned, the
14:09most clutch players on that team.
14:12Every single time they were in trouble, either Curry made a shot, or LeBron just made a big
14:18boy bully move to get him a bucket, and then Durant hit his shots with a lot on the line.
14:28I don't want to bring the party down.
14:32This happened all throughout the Olympics, Stiney.
14:37I can't get over Kevin Durant's departure.
14:41It makes it hurt more just watching this, and watching how cool and how much respect
14:47they have for each other, and Durant did what he did.
14:50We don't know what was behind his decision to leave, but Stiney, you just think about
14:54if Kevin Durant were still a teammate of Steph Curry, where the Warriors would be then.
14:59And maybe I need to move on, but that's the one part of his departure I hate.
15:04Their relationship didn't, you know, it didn't falter or get tainted.
15:10He decided to do something else, Durant, but it's like you and Steph together, man.
