00:00In Venezuela, the government dismounted a new terrorist plan after the arrest of people
00:15linked to the far-right groups.
00:18In Honduras, President Ximena Castro ratified her commitment to defend the country's sovereignty
00:23and democracy in the face of the coup intentions of opposition sectors.
00:28And in South America, forest fires have ravaged several countries in recent weeks.
00:36Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televisual Studios in Havana,
00:40Cuba.
00:41We begin with the news.
00:42In Venezuela, the government dismounted a new terrorist plan after the arrest of people
00:46linked to far-right groups.
00:48Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello announced the detention of citizens who had the objective
00:52of generating violence and destabilizing the country.
00:55In this sense, the official pointed out that the investigations indicate that those arrested
00:59were communicating through social medias in which they planned assassinations against
01:03Venezuelan state officials.
01:05Cabello also pointed out that within the framework of the operation, they managed to seize some
01:09400 weapons that entered the country illegally through courier companies.
01:23The government of the United States is no stranger to this operation.
01:27You should remember the threats that have been made against us.
01:32In addition, there has been the assassination of some people in other countries.
01:36That relates to this.
01:43Behind this arms trafficking operation, there is a nefarious character, this Mr. Ivan Simonovic.
01:49He knows perfectly well what I am talking about.
01:53The Venezuelan Minister for Domestic Affairs, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, denounced
01:57the opposition for leading arms trafficking and violence operations in the country.
02:06Behind all these operations, arms sales, arms trafficking, is Mr. Ivan Simonovic, who has
02:17direct links here in Venezuela, and Juan Pablo Guanapa, whom we saw in a photo, Carlos Piquios,
02:24Julio Borges, Maria Corina Machado, have been named on these operations of violence in our
02:30country.
02:31And in Venezuela, also President Nicolás Maduro condemned recent unilateral sanctions
02:36by the United States against several institutions and government officials aimed at destabilizing
02:41the country.
02:42The Venezuelan head of state pointed out that Washington continues to repeat its past mistakes
02:46by constantly using threats as a means to cause deep damage against the people.
02:50In this sense, the head of state affirmed that the United States, as it has demonstrated
02:54throughout history, has always wanted to intervene in Venezuela, to take control of its natural
02:59resources, but the civil-military police union will not allow it today or ever.
03:04These declarations come after the president led a working day dedicated to the progress
03:08of the military community brigades for education and health in the city of Caracas.
03:14All the Venezuelan institutions, because the gringos pretended yesterday with their so-called
03:24sanctions, with their ridiculous sanctions, a truly hostile attitude, which repeats the
03:32mistakes they have already made against Venezuela, they will not be able to stop the course of
03:40the Bolivarian revolution, neither with threats, nor with sanctions, nor with anything, neither
03:48today nor ever.
03:51They will not be able to weaken or divide the powerful civil-military police union of
03:57the people's power.
03:59In Honduras, President Xiomara Castro ratified her commitment to defend the country's sovereignty
04:06and democracy in the face of the coup intentions of opposition sectors.
04:10During a massive rally in support of her administration, the Honduran president recalled the victory
04:15of her government in the face of the crimes that for more than 12 years the drug dictatorship
04:20executed with the objective of imposing itself again in the Central American country.
04:25She also denounced the coup attempts led by the U.S. government.
04:28In this regard, Xiomara Castro ratified that her government will not surrender to the threats
04:32of coup d'etat and interference.
04:36We gave everything to the people's cause and I left the statement that in a heroic
04:52act in the poll stations, we conquer.
05:13And the drug trafficking dictatorship, corrupt and cruel from the national party and their
05:20allies, was defeated.
05:26President Xiomara Castro, during the manifestation in support of her government, also made a
05:30clear statement that the people won't allow another coup.
05:37A coup d'etat, never more.
05:44A coup d'etat, never more.
05:57We have, from our side to the people, and the reason is assisting us, with the blood
06:09of our martyrs will be newly defeated.
06:18And I invite the youth to our working class, to defend the legacy of our hero Francisco
06:32Morazán, to defend our democracy and the social program of our government.
06:44The strength from the ultra-conservative in his attempted coup, I am dearticulating now.
06:58Citizens rallying express their full support to President Xiomara Castro.
07:09Well it is a reminder that we are in power, that we need to support our president in all
07:14the actions she has done.
07:17No more coups d'etat, no more blocking the actions that the president wants to take.
07:24Support the president, all the achievements we have made in such a short time, after a
07:28regime that plundered us for 12 years.
07:37Nobody surrenders here, we are always ready to support her.
07:42First of all, support the people, support the militancy, and we are going to support
07:46them in a good way.
07:48She should continue, her people are always here supporting her, and she should not give
07:52up.
07:53No more coups d'etat.
07:55Let's now take a short break, but remember you can join us on TikTok, Catalyst or English,
08:00where you'll find news in different formats, news updates, and much more.
08:04We'll be right back, stay with us.
08:24Welcome back.
08:25In Cuba, on Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez thanked the rejection of
08:3035 former heads of state and governments of the world against the inclusion of the island
08:34in the list of alleged sponsored states of terrorism.
08:37Rodríguez emphasized the leader's call on U.S. President Joe Biden to withdraw his country
08:41from the unilateral designation, alleging that remaining in it has caused serious consequences
08:46for the nation.
08:47In addition to being contradictory, the inclusion of the Caribbean country in said list violates
08:51the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
08:56This Friday, the Mexican Senate issued the final declaration for the judicial reform
09:03that is now constitutional, after the state congresses ratified it.
09:07Despite the absence of the opposition groups, the Senate Board of Directors moved forward
09:11with this legal process.
09:12The reform was endorsed by 22 state congresses, and according to the current regulations of
09:16the United Mexican States, it can now be published in the official cassette of the
09:20Federation.
09:21From this step, the regulation that would mark substantial changes in the judicial system
09:25of Mexico enters into force, as stated by the President of the Senate Board of Directors,
09:30Gerardo Fernández Noroña.
09:37Listen carefully from this moment on.
09:39The Mexican people are not only taking the decision on who will be the judges, but they
09:44are also opening a path for the whole of humanity, so that never again will the judges
09:50be the product of an elite that is contrary to the administration of justice and contrary
09:56to the interests of the people.
09:58We will be the first country to elect judges, men and women, magistrates and ministers of
10:04justice by universal, secret and direct suffrage.
10:09The extreme right has said that this is impossible, just as they said that it was impossible to
10:16build the international airport Felipe Angeles.
10:22In the United States, the state of Ohio has recently become the epicenter of unrest fueled
10:26by racist conspiracy theories targeting its Haitian immigrant community.
10:31This troubling situation has carried after former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator
10:35J.D. Vance made inflammatory remarks during a presidential debate, suggesting the Haitians
10:39in Springfield were involved in bizarre and harmful activities, including allegations
10:44of pet consumption.
10:46These unfounded claims have gained traction, particularly among far-right groups and on
10:50social media leading to a toxic environment for the local Haitian population.
11:06And in the United States, also President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer
11:12postponed a decision on whether or not to allow Ukraine to fire Western-supplied long-range
11:16missiles at Russia.
11:18The two leaders held a meeting at the White House that focused on Kyiv's request to use
11:21missiles against Russia.
11:23In this regard, both leaders expressed support for Ukraine but did not make any major announcements
11:27regarding missiles.
11:28It is worth mentioning that Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that allowing Ukraine
11:31to attack Russian territory with long-range missiles is equivalent to NATO countries being
11:36at war with Russia.
11:38There is an intention.
11:43It is a confusion in the matter.
11:44It is not about allowing or preventing Ukraine to attack Russian territory.
11:50Ukraine is already attacking Russian territory, with drones and other means, but when talking
11:54about high-precision and long-range weapons made in the West, it is another matter, completely
12:01different.
12:02The point is, I have already mentioned, any expert can confirm it, both in Russia and
12:08in the West, that the Ukrainian army is not capable of using Western high-precision or
12:13long-range missile systems.
12:16They can only do so by using intelligence data.

12:56Welcome back.
12:57In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the military court sentenced 37 people to death
13:01after convicting them for participating in an attempted coup d'état.
13:05The accused were found responsible for attempted coup d'état, terrorism and communal association.
13:11The defendants, among them three US citizens, a British, a Belgian and a Canadian, were
13:17arrested after an attack in May which targeted the presidential palace and killed six people.
13:22Congo reinstated the death penalty earlier this 2024 amid a struggle to curb violence
13:27and terrorist attacks in the country.
13:33The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator Mohamed Hadi reported that approximately 18,000
13:38children have been orphaned due to the Israeli aggressions in the Gaza Strip.
13:42Hadi also warned that humanitarian workers face many difficulties getting aid to the
13:46Strip and detailed that children have been exposed to traumatizing situations such as
13:51constant displacement and shelling.
13:53The UN Children's Fund UNICEF reiterates that children who require protection is essential
13:58to safeguard and protect the services on which they depend, such as health centers.
14:03In Brazil, the number of fires in the first 12 days of September reached 49,266, surpassing
14:25the 46,486 registered in the same period last year.
14:29This unprecedented crisis, in the midst of the worst drought on record, continues to
14:33devastate the country, affecting major cities such as Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well
14:39as bordering countries.
14:40In this regard, President Luiz Inácio da Silva asserted that the federal government,
14:44together with state and municipal governments, is intensifying efforts to control the fires
14:49affecting the entire country.
14:50It is important to note that at midnight last Thursday, Brazil accounted for 60.7% of the
14:56fires that occurred this month in South America.
15:02Also in Paraguay, forest fires in the Chaco region devastated at least 190,000 hectares
15:07and an area 16 times the size of the city of Zunción.
15:11The Volunteer Fire Department of Paraguay reported that there are a total of 164 firefighters
15:16working to extinguish the current outbreaks on Chobureca and in the Campo Grande area,
15:22while reiterating their efforts to deal with the situation.
15:25In this context, officials urged the population to take the corresponding measures in the
15:28face of the emergency.
15:31Meanwhile, in Peru, at least 173 fires remained active and devastation has affected 3,330 hectares
15:39of forests and farmland in 20 regions of the country.
15:42The National Emergency Operations Center reports that since last May, so far there have been
15:4710 people killed, 59 injured and another 1,634 affected.
15:51The Health Ministry reports that 70% of the affected areas correspond to natural ecosystems
15:56and 30% to crops.
15:58Officials say fires are intensifying due to drought and high temperatures.
16:14In the Netherlands, the Amsterdam International Tattoo Convention has officially kicked off
16:18running from September 13th to the 15th at the NDSM Wharf.
16:23This year's event brings together over 360 tattoo artists from around the globe, attracting
16:27crowds of enthusiasts eager to discover the latest trends and techniques in tattoo artistry.
16:32Attendees can look forward to live tattoo competitions where artists showcase their
16:36skills across various categories, as well as on-site peers and opportunities.
16:40The convention also features a vibrant atmosphere with food trucks, live music and numerous
16:45vendors offering unique merchandise.
16:47This annual celebration serves as a dynamic platform for artists and fans to connect and
16:52appreciate the art of tattooing.
17:17I don't know, it just kind of like, you know, boosts my confidence too, like it's just really
17:21empowering to have somebody's art on you and just, you know, feel the love that people
17:25have for it too, so yeah.
17:27I think today in contemporary tattoo industry is really interesting.
17:32I've been tattooing for 14 years, so I've seen like a lot of change and I love how is
17:38it going.
17:39Now it's more specialized.
17:40There are a lot more materials, more styles in art, in the designs and there are like
17:45more women also, like in the industry, like back in the days I used to be like three women
17:51and a hundred guys and now it's like more even and I love that.
17:55So I think the tattoo industry is breaking the barriers of art.
18:00So it's more interactive, like urban art, graffiti and so on.
18:06So I'm really excited to see where the future goes.
18:10That is, we have come to the end of this news brief.
